well all i'm going to say is:
You must be 18 to get in, and you must have credentials. True, creds are easy to get, but the $400 for a ticket keeps most of the riffraff out.

I thought the only way to be allowed in was to actually be a part of the Video Game industry (like a reviewer, employee of GameStop, not just a person who buys games)
Besides, I know records of people ripping E3 demos. We may have ZX sprites if someone manages to snag the rom out of the ZX sample there.

From Engadget: www.engadget.com/2006/05/08/500-ps3-to-lack-hdmi-wifi-card-reader/"When Sony gave out the specs on the PS3 earlier tonight, the company mentioned that there would be two configurations: a $500 version with a 20GB hard drive and a $600 edition with a 60GB drive. Turns out that was only half the story. Yes, that pricing and storage info is accurate. But it turns out that there are a lot of other things missing from the lower-end (we can't bring ourselves to call a $500 console "cheap") version, besides an extra 40GB of storage. According to the specs released by Sony, the 20GB version will lack WiFi, a memory card reader and, most significantly, HDMI output. While you could probably get along without WiFi in a home-based console that already has Ethernet, and you can always presumably hook up a memory card reader via one of the unit's four USB ports, the lack of HDMI output makes this pretty much a non-starter for anyone hoping to actually use the PS3's Blu-ray drive for anything more than playing games. Sure, we can understand Sony not wanting to undercut sales of its own dedicated Blu-ray players by offering the $500 PS3 as a cheaper alternative. But if the company was hoping to use the gaming platform as a way to build a base of fans for HD discs, chances are the strategy is going to backfire the first time someone tries playing a Blu-ray flick in their 20GB version and discovers that the unit's lack of HDMI limits them to analog 1080i output (or worse, depending on a disc's use of HDCP). " So it seems the $500 option is going to be about as appealing as the Core version of the 360, which isn't very much... Just figured I'd let you know that the "real" version of the PS3 will be that $600 one...

Pre-E3 2006: Crysis We get our first real look at Crytek's next-gen PC FPS and can't wait to get our second. by Dan Adams May 4, 2006 - Crytek broke onto the scene in 2003 when Far Cry began rearing it's toothy head and solidified its place in the development community upon a successful release of that title in 2004. In short, it was an awesome game. While it didn't have quite the variety of a Half-Life 2, it provided one of the most intense pure shooter experiences we've come across in some time. It was difficult and the story was bad, but man was it fun! Since that Spring, we'd been eagerly awaiting news of Crytek's return to glory and got it this January when Crytek and publisher EA announced Crysis. We knew that Crytek would pull some serious technological magic for their second title and we finally had the chance to see it moving not long after the big announcement. This year's GDC proved Crytek's stomping ground as they unleashed one of the most unbelievable technical demos of the year. CryEngine 2 is spectacular. If you haven't seen the demonstration of the engine yet, you really need to check it out for yourself. What's especially stunning is that the demo shown recently was amazingly full of detail running on only DirectX 9, after seeing a short comparison video of the game's capabilities running on DX10, we're very excited to see more of that. This year's pre-E3 EA3 event down at Electronic Arts' Redwood Shores campus provided us with another look at the game along with a chance to hear Crytek's Cevat Yerli discuss the game and how they're hoping the game will push past Far Cry and become one of this year's most astounding shooters. I'd recommend keeping your fingers crossed about the 2006 release, but we're being told that it is due out in Winter 2006. During the breakout sessions where Crysis was shown in more detail, Cevat first discussed what he hoped would be noticeable differences between Far Cry and Crysis. High on the list? They've added a quick save function this time. Even Crytek has realized that the difficulty level in Far Cry was pretty high for the average player. Crysis, while still providing a challenge that players can feel good about overcoming, should be a little easier to manage without having to worry about making it to the next checkpoint to save the game. Cevat is hoping the balance between enemies, weapons, and challenges will provide a balance between challenge and fun. Also high on the list of improvements was the notably uninspiring story of Far Cry. While none of us are expecting fiction that will stand the test of time out of a shooter, Yerli is confident in their ability to flesh out characters and story without the excess cheese. The story in Crysis begins with a focus on the mounting tensions between North Korea and the United States. When an asteroid drops out of the atmosphere and slams into an island chain, the stakes get higher. North Korea lays claim on the territory while the rest of the world demands equal access. Growing impatient, the United States decides to send in a highly trained recon force to see what exactly is going on. When both countries find a surprise bigger than either anticipated, an alien spaceship hiding inside the asteroid, the two along with the rest of the world are forced to put differences aside and throw all of their might against the new, and highly aggressive alien visitors. Upon emerging from the asteroid, the world's atmosphere begins to wig out, half of the island chain gets instantly frozen, and all hell breaks loose. While saving the world is hardly a new notion in gaming plot lines, we've been assured that the story has been given a lot more attention. For more screenshots go here.
