It's out already? Wow. I heard no news of it. (Sigs don't count)

It's out alright...
I'd give it an 8 out of 10. My main disappointment is with the physics. Sonic feels slower than he did back then, like his sneakers are made of cement or something. And he doesn't jump as far either. Remember in the Genesis games, when you'd be say..running downhill? You would make him roll into a ball and he'd go even faster, right? That doesn't happen in the new one. You actually slow down. Since when does that happen? It goes against all the laws of physics that you're used to from the classic Sonics. There is the homing attack, though....and if you time it right, you get a burst of speed...so I suppose not all is lost.
That being said, the graphics are beautiful, Sonic looks pretty good (a tad bit too shiny looking to me) and all the classic stages and music will bring back fond memories...(even if Casino Street is a total ripoff of Casino Night zone in Sonic 2 XD) The special stages are pretty much like the Sonic 1 special stages, except now you're timed, and you can get time bonuses and whatnot.
There's some new stuff to do too...like in this Lost Labyrinth level, you're carrying around a torch to light your surroundings and to blow up dynamite...that was pretty cool. There's also a mine cart section, a la Sonic 2 for Game Gear.
All in all, a good game. Sega did a great job....now if they could only tweak those physics, and add in Tails for co op or something...then we're talking. A great start though, can't wait for Episode 2!
