This is the game that Capcom is releasing for Megaman's 25th anniversary title, the last Megaman game they will ever release. The game contains characters from the entire Mega Man franchise, MM, MMX, MMZ, MML, MMBN, & MMSF. Plot Overview:Dr. Wily, Sigma and other villains from the series have come together to wreak havoc, creating chaos in their wake. To counterattack this, the brilliant legendary minds of Dr. Light and Dr. Cossack have come together to create a new kind of Mega Man that would be able to combat this dark alliance Art Style:While the new design for X doesn't look bad at all, the sprite style they chose to go with in the game itself is quite... lacking... to say the least... Gameplay:Deviating from the traditional Mega Man formula, Rockman ×over will be a social RPG. The player character is a new highly customizable Mega Man, OVER-1, that will gain strength through "battle memory" scattered across the world. The social part of the game will allow players to team up in order to fight against enemy robots. The stages are "on-rail", OVER-1 walking forward while the player makes him shot and jump to defeat enemies, and the gameplay changes to a turn-based RPG battle at bosses. images.wikia.com/megaman/images/6/6c/XoverScreen4.pngComing soon to an iPhone near you...

I refuse to acknowledge this as a megaman game.

So this is how it ends, huh? Not with a bang... not with a whimper... but with a horrible case of diarrhea. Way to go, Capcom... way to f***ing go.

Am I the only one who's noticed the horrible coincidence that this game is essentially titled "Megaman's Over"? Almost as if they did it intentionally.

Unfortunately, I didn't. In spite of that implication, I've yet to see them actually say this is the last Megaman game ever. Officially. Some hard evidence will be extremely convincing to me.
Just saying, no offence.

I'm with Fanny, I haven't seen anything actually stating this is to be the last MegaMan game. If it really is, wow what a kick in the balls. But I'm not sure even Capcom can sink that low.
Let's be honest. This game is a great concept with the absolute worst possible execution it's mind numbingly frustrating. A crossover game of some sort featuring characters from all over the MegaMan universe is a great idea, I've been hoping for something like that for awhile actually. And this new MegaMan is pretty rad, probably one of the cooler character designs Capcom has pulled out of it's ass, I'm impressed.
But why why why would you ever think to make a stand alone game we're supposed to take seriously for the Goddamn iPhone of all things? The iPhone is not a gaming system. It's not. It's not. It's not even a computer. IT'S NOT. An iPhone is a telephone no matter how much it wishes it was those other things. And it will always be severely limited compared to a computer and a gaming system. There is literally no excuse for releasing something like this for an iPhone. Would it have killed anyone to put it on the 3DS or Vita or as a Wii download or something? This in itself is an instant death sentence really.
And then just when you thought it couldn't suck any harder, we learn of the gameplay. Words cannot describe how much I hate these rail style games where your character moves on their own. If I wanted to move I'd press a button to move damnit. This is why I hated Sonic and the Secret Rings with such a passion. It takes the control away from the player and the fun along with it. Not to mention this silly and dumb turn-based boss battle nonsense. Why would you even think to do that, let alone actually make it a thing? For God's sake after they released that crappy MMX port for the iPhone why would it even be necessary to do something like this? They've already proven they can make a working MegaMan game for the iPhone, was it necessary to dick up the gameplay with such ferocity? It's insulting.
I don't think this "game" should be taken seriously. I don't really think any cell phone games should. Unfortunately this crappy not game has a really awesome concept behind it, which just adds insult to injury in this situation.
And if this really is the last MegaMan game Capcom does, then whoah nelly are these guys going belly up faster than Vilex's mom on a Friday night. This'd be the equivalent of Capcom prying it's fans' mouthes open and pissing down their throats. And I don't think anyone's gonna take that lying down [insert other Vilex's mom joke].

I had stuff here, but you're post speaks for us both.
This isn't going to sell if it's not free. I won't know, since I don't have a Iphone.
Personally, I hope they make true on their December surprise, I want a DMC style Megaman Zero remake.

DMC or something like Metroid Other M for a Zero/ZX series would be A-ok for me.

I'm sorry what? Where did this come from? Is this an actual possibility or just wishful thinking? I haven't seen or heard anything to support this so I'm gonna say its wishful thinking. The MMZ as DMC is wishful thinking, but Capcom did hint that this game is not all they're rolling out for the 25th anniversary. Some sort of surprise is allegedly going to be revealed in December. The only thing I'm going to add to the wall of text that's already been said is that I wouldn't put anything past Capcom now. They've become the laziest money grabbing companies ever with their half baked glitch filled games and paid DLC. And for reasons unknown to me they've decided they're done with Megaman. Now they could sell the rights to some company that would like to cash in on a successful franchise, selling Megaman would generate more money than making half assed games we don't want on 'systems' that a lot of people don't have. Its beyond me why, but a lot of fans are of the opinion that Capcom intends to run Megaman into the ground, possibly out of spite towards Inafune or perhaps some other reason. But they're always complaining about Megaman games not selling well. That's supposedly why we didn't get Legends 3, because they didn't think there was enough demand for it. And then all the fans came out, got angry, showed that there was interest, and so they bring out some crap game no one wanted to ensure that it wouldn't sell well, so that when we clamor for a Megaman game in the future they can actually cite poor sales. Sorry about the nonsensical rant there, probably had too much to be posting now.
