As story time started to wind down... Arne laid back and started to drift to sleep. Hien curled up next to him and got some rest as well. The two slept rather well considering everything that was revealed to them, and didn't stir until after Alriik start clanging his swords together.
Hien awoke first... and quickly headed off into the forest. Arne would get up soon after, and would start stretching to work out the grogginess of the abrupt awakening. "Think you could go with a method that's not as... loud next time?"
After fully waking up, he gathered up his gear and got ready to set out with the others. And around this time, Hien returned to the camp, carrying what seemed to be a crystal apple in his jaws... and offered it to Arne with muffled chirps.
With a chuckle, Arne takes the fruit from the wyvern "I don't really think I can eat this, but... good job trying to help." he gives Hien a quick pat before placing the crystal apple with the rest of his things.

Arne listened intently to Aqua's tale of her heritage... which was intertwined with a history lesson about the founding of the frontier. As the story was told, Hien started cuddling up to Silver. Doing his best to help cheer up the clearly distraught dragon girl.
Arne spoke up after Aqua finished with her story. "Makes sense why people treat you like you're royalty here. And your mother sounds like quite the mage. Pulling an entire city into the sea... that's a hell of a feat. But... with her being so widely idolized her, it's honestly kinda surprising anyone would even think about trying to do anything to your family. This kinda makes what's happening with your father a bit... confusing..."

Seeing that Silver regained her senses calmed Arne... and his smile became less forced and much more genuine. Hien also seemed to get calmer... and trotted back over to Arne's side.
Then came Silver's story... yet another heavy information dump Arne had to take in. He really didn't feel the need to comment or ask questions about anything... and any ill feelings he had towards Silver that lingered from the day she fled vanished after he heard her reasoning.
Hien walked over towards Silver, chirping softly...
With the subject change, Arne also turned his attention towards Aqua... "It was pretty surprising to find out you're some kind of Frontier bigshot... more of one than just a naval captain, anyway."

As Rion reveals his crystalized arm, Hien squirms out of Arne's arms and runs over to him... once again chirping with concern. He would attempt to get close to get a good look and Rion's arm, but then quickly back away. Not sure if it would be safe.
Like before, Arne listened to with out a word. The idea that Rion could just, one day, suddenly be fully crystalized seemed to be absurd. But... the proof was right before him. He really couldn't deny that something like that could possibly happen... which was a pretty disturbing though.
When Rion spoke to Silver, Arne's attention turned to her... and Hien's as well. Hien kept his eyes locked on the dragon girl... taking a few steps back. Arne however, forced a bit of a smile... "So... uhh... you feeling any better?"

Arne and Hien listened to Alriik story quietly... taking everything in. Each new detail about the Altiim making them show an expression of disgust. "How could they possibly justify this?"
When it came time to ask questions, Arne sorted through a few he had in mind. About how the magic of the Silver Knights worked... the god living in the lake... but, there was one thing he had be curious about for a while.
"I'm interested in just how this bond you have with your weapons. For... well... obvious reasons." He looks down at the wyvern in his arms, who lets out a chirp in response. "It seems more than just the results of the, for lack of a better term, torture they put you through. Do you have any idea just how it works, exactly?"

Hien clearly didn't listen to Rion saying not to worry... as he continued to chirp with concern, following him and Alriik back to the fire. And Silver being removed to the glacier and brought over to the rest of the group clearly didn't help the small wyvern's anxiousness.
Meanwhile, Arne started to gather the few javelins that managed to survive the blighted lightning. Which turned out to be less than he expected. He made a mental note to buy more whenever he had the chance.
After he returned to the campsite, he picked up the clearly nervous wyvern before taking a seat. "Relax, pal. Rion's alright... and I don't think Silver is in a state where she could possibly attack us again."
Hien quiets down... but, still keeps glancing between the light mage and the unconscious dragon.

As the last of the beasts flee from the campsite, Arne and Hien turn their attention back towards Silver to find that the dragon had been successfully immobilized. The two start to relax as Aqua approaches them. "Yeah, we're fine. But what about you? You're not looking too good."
He wouldn't get an answer as everyone's attention is soon grabbed by Rion's light show... and the blight seemingly being removed from Silver. "That's... good, right? Because it seems like it's goo-" Arne gets cut off by Rion being sent flying and crashing into the ground. The duo quickly head over to check on their ally and are met with the peculiar sight of crystals seemingly growing from Rion's flesh. At which, Hien began chirping frantically in both concern and confusion. "That definitely doesn't seem like it's good."

Much like Alriik... Arne is quickly thrown off Silver's back by the lightning arcing across her. Hien quickly flies over and chirps with concern as Arne slowly stand back up. "It's ok, pal. I'm just a little shaken up is all." Hearing Rion yell out, the two got right back into the action. Charging at the canines, Arne brings the axe blade of his halberd down onto the head of one of them.
Pulling it back out, he start stabbing at a group of three of them... but not making contact as the quickly back away. He keeps this up... and they keep dodging, until he's able to group them all up. At which point, Hien exhales a blast of flame on top of them... setting the trio of beasts on fire.

"Wait... what?" Arne looks over at Hien, who tilts his head in confusion. "Putting me on the spot here... weird attack names are kind of your thing, not mine."
"Ok... let's go with..." He picks up his halberd and changes it with wind. "Twin Piercing Storm. That good enough?"
As Alriik ran in, Arne followed behind... leaping high into the air and plunging down next to the elf, with his halberd pointed downward... also planning to release the wind magic contained within his weapon.

Arne continued to slice at Silver, trying his best not to cut deep enough to cause serious damage... each strike followed by a blast of flame from Hien, in order to burn any wound shut. However, it quickly became apparent that his assault wasn't even slowing her down. "Is she even feeling any of this?!"
As her body began to crackle with black sparks, Arne and Hien quickly backed away... just in time to avoid the rain of lightning that started falling around her. "Damn it... what the hell do I do now?" Arne muttered to himself. His ranged options were incredibly limited... and getting close to her in this state clearly wasn't the best idea when all he had was some basic armor. However, a new plan started forming as Aqua started to let loose on Silver.
"Guess holding back isn't an option anymore. That's fine... Al! Head's up!" Arne stuck his halberd into the ground and drew the two dragon fangs, changing up one with lightning and the other with wind before tossing them both to Alriik. He then started pulling out his javelins, charging them with electricity and throwing them around Silver... hoping they would draw in the black lightning, making for a safe approach. "Get in there! I'll be right behind you!"

As the dragon burst through the forest, into the groups campsite, Arne jump to the side... giving him some distance, and Hien quickly followed. He was about to charge when Celestrus made himself known. Arne yelled up to him.
"Hey, wait! Don't you think this is-" Celestrus vanished before he could finish his statement. "... a bit much for us to handle so suddenly...?"
With a sigh, Arne readied himself for combat once again... now recognizing their foe. Seems Silver was back, she had gone berserk... at it was up to them to try and snap her out of it. He looked over towards Alriik, who seemed to unsure of himself. "Do what you usually do. Just try and avoid any vital areas. And when in doubt, hit her the flat of the blade."
With that, he charged up his halberd with lighting before running in, Hien following behind. Getting in close he took a swing at one of her front legs. Hien readied a blast of fire, with the intent of burning any wounds shut.

Listening to Aqua explain the uses of the crystals, sounded like the upgrades Arne was looking for regarding his weaponry. With a rush of excitement, Hien began to fly up to and look closely at the various plants they pass by... trying to find a good one. Only to chip sadly at the news that harvesting them wasn't that easy. Arne gently pat his companion's head, instantly cheering him back up. "Well, I guess at some point, we'll just have to find some of the nature mages here... see if they're willing to part with a couple of them."
As they begin to set up camp, Arne assisted with gathering wood for a fire. Though, we was curious how well that would work considering the unique nature of the forest. After their meal, he leaned back and started to relax... Hien curled up next to him. This moment of calm ended with the feeling of a strange presence near them. Arne, almost instinctively, started reaching for his halberd... while Hien quickly began looking around, his head fins waving subtly. With the roar, Arne jumped to his feet, drawing his weapon, while Hien took the sky... the two of them quickly glancing around, looking for the source of the noise.
"Guess it was too much to ask to just have a peaceful fireside chat."

Arne stayed back a bit when "Alan" started hand out his swords, never feeling quite comfortable using weapons like that. Though, he didn't refuse when he got handed the two dragon fangs. "Don't worry. I'll be sure to treat them with the utmost care. You have my word.". As Hien purred, receiving Alan's pets, Arne strapped the two swords to his belt... wondering if it would be right to even try to use them.
After entering the immigration office, Arne took a step back... having a feeling that Aqua could handle things without much trouble and gave clear answers to every question given to him. Before he knew it, the party was given proper identification and was in traveling through Sandora proper. While traveling, he couldn't help but notice how the housing for elves and humans were quite different. It wasn't long before the group left town and the were greeted with the amazing sight of The Crystal Forest. The duo stared at it in awe, never seeing such a thing like it before. After a brief moment, a question popped into Arne's mind regarding this place, "So, people gather the crystals from here, yeah? What exactly are they used for?".

Traveling through the streets of Sandora, Arne constantly suppressed the urge to jump over the crowds of people... as that how he would usually handle this kind of situation when he was in a hurry. But, traveling with group now, that wasn't an option. Trying not to lose sight of anyone, Hien had forgone flying and decided to perch himself on Arne's head and shoulders.
As they reached the Sandora Square, and the crowd thinned out a bit, Hien took the air again. While the group waited for Alriik to rejoin them, Arne began to wonder how this process was going to go. He considered asking Aqua, but felt like an explanation just take some time and it would be faster just to find out first hand.
Arne raised an eyebrow at the elf's disguise as soon as he reappeared, still being recognizable due to his collection of blades, and had to stifle a laugh as he started speaking. "N-... Nice to meet you, Alan." Hien simply looked at Alriik, tilting his head in confusion.
Arne took a deep breathe to try and regain his composer... but couldn't rid himself of the grin on his face. He nods in agreement with Rion's comment. "Yeah. Hopefully we can get this all sorted out sooner rather than later."

During the celebration, both Arne and Hien joined in the revelry of food and drink, though mainly just food for Hien. It was a good change of pace from all the chaos that happened earlier, so they both wanted to enjoy as much of it while they could. And the two couldn't help but smile while taking in the sight of the city as they approached and listening to Aqua happily rattle off trivia about her home land.
While at the inn at Sandora, Arne took time to try and make sense of all the events that occurred after the encounter with the pirates. After they dealt with the Steam Knight, beams of lighted pulled them into what seemed like infinite nothingness. That is until they ran into... something? Someone? He still wasn't quite sure what they saw there. A giant? A... god? And then there was everything that happened after that. Finding there way to Slagveld, a city none of the group has ever heard of. Those people he met there... the other Rion. What was all that? There's no way they could have been pulled into another world, that's something that only happens in terrible stories meant for children. But, he couldn't deny how real it all was... and how the others seemed to remember it as well.
He spent hours racking his brain, only to end up with even more questions and not a single answer. Hien had fallen a sleep some time ago, and the sight of his resting companion made Arne realize he wasn't going to get anywhere with this tonight and he should get some rest while he still could.
In the morning, the two headed down to the lobby of the inn, Arne being a bit groggy from not getting much sleep. His attention is quickly grabbed by Aqua speaking with someone, and them calling her "Princess Nyharllothor". He could tell that Aqua was someone of importance, but he never really imagined she could actually be royalty. Listening to the rest of the conversation, it seems that there next course of action was set. As Alriik summed up things rather succinctly before heading out on his way, Arne couldn't help but chuckle a bit. "Seems like we're in a bit of hurry, than. Less time standing around, the better."
