Well, that's the sad thing though. Nad to make matters worse, PS3 ain't so attractive and promising, since they announced that most PS2 games can't play on it. Then get a Ps2? Which costs like half the amount of a DS now. >.>;; Fasle statement. PS2 costs $129 DS costs $113

Nah, I hate computer games. Too near the screen. And I think they're not worth it, to me that is. You have your say over yours.

Computer + emulators = all consoles and games ever made... for free... <_< aswell as all COMPUTER games. And you can fix the screen problem by getting a video projector (wich im saving money for)

Emulators are illeagle unless you own the game in cartige form. Now please stay on topic. Wrong. Emulators are hand-coded from scratch made to render a specific platform, usually. Emulators theirselves aren't illegal, but ROMs on the other hand are as illegal as you can get. Running a ROM in an emulator doesn't make the emulator illegal, it's still the ROM that's illegal.

Playing on a bigger screen is more enjoyable though.
Back to business, wow! The PS2 price has shrunk! But still, why did they have to make PS3 anyway? Why can't Sony just be satisfied with just the PS2, since the sales were so great?

Thought process behind PS3:
"Hey the PSX and PS2 have dominated the market for two generations!" "Hey, I got an idea." "What's that?" "Let's beef up the hardware to be rediculously expencive, manufacture a proprietary processor, and add in that new Blu-ray thing!" "OMG that's the best idea ever! Now what do we charge them for it?" "The PS3 should retail for 599.99 US Dollars." "Are you smoking crack?!" "Don't worry, we'll sell a stripped down version for 100.00 less." "BRILLIANT!"
And that's basically the story behind the Playstaion 3.

Hah hah. Too bad they can't really deliver their promise of having all PS2 titles played on that console. Otherwise the PS3 would definitely be a worthy buy.

UK, April 12, 2007 - Sony Computer Entertainment America has confirmed that its axing the $499 20GB version of the PlayStation 3 in favour of the far more popular 60GB model.
Although there are still 20GB versions available in stores, Sony won't be replacing them once stock runs out. "This is based purely on consumer and retailer demand, which favoured the ($599) 60GB model 10 to one," explained SCEA PR boss Dave Karraker.
For those existing 20GB PS3 owners, Karraker confirmed full PlayStation support will continue to be available. Furthermore, as is customary these days, Karraker also took the opportunity to take a swipe at Microsoft.
"Current 20GB consumers will still be 100% supported with software and services," he boasted, "since all PS3s have the same basic architecture. Unlike if Microsoft were to stop selling their Core system, which would allow publishers to actually use their hard drive for gaming purposes, leaving the Core user out in the cold." Oooh, get you.
The news is likely to be met with casual indifference in Europe, where the lower-end PS3 was never released. ---------------------------------------------------------------- April 12, 2007 - Bummed about the death of the 20 gigabyte model PS3? Then you may want to consider importing, as it seems that Sony Computer Entertainment currently plans on continuing to sell the 20 Gig model in Japan.
When asked about the decision to drop the lower end model from North American retail, a representative of SCE told Famitsu.com, "We're currently not considering changes akin to North America. However we would like to react flexibly with the market."
We conducted a quick check of that very market today via a few Tokyo game shops and found both 20 Gig and 60 Gig models available for purchase. We also found used versions of both packages, with one retailer charging 42,800 yen for a used 20 Gig model and 49,800 yen for a used 60 gig model. The usual retail prices for new versions are, respectively, 49,800 yen and 59,800 yen.

The next version of the PS3 will probably have 80 GB or more and will sell for $799, I bet... 800 dollars to spend on a simple gaming system. MGS4 is looking less and less fun and more like a pain to buy.

Nah, I'm betting that they'll pull a Microsoft and put in a 240GB HD.
