No this isn't an idea that capcom is considering. They had this topic on another forum and I decided to ask what you guys thought of it. With them ending most of the megaman series I thought this might be a good move for them. The idea is pretty popular, think about it, lots of people have their own sprite characters and RPing is clearly popular. I think letting people create their own character to be a maverick hunter would be a great moneymaker for them.

Yes, it would. I don't know WHY Capcom won't do it, though. It'd be a great moneymaker, and a good step unless of course they made it suck.

why? cuz it would be another lame rpg. i mean if its another walk n slash like champions it'd suck unless they had alotta boss abilities. and if its a tbs rpg then it would omega suck. plus i think they wanna keep da mission thing alive. i just dont see a free roam megaman. mmxcm was well... boring i stopped playing. i only did it for the extras. not too mention i dont see capcom having enough money/experience/sertvers/security for one. would it be pay for play? also people would cheat and just make a death modd for the guy their guy. i dont see it happening, at least not a good picture.

i think this is a good idea. but if it was pay to play i wouldn't get it (ffXI is enough), but if it had no monthly fees i'd buy hopeing it wouldn't suck as much as guild wars.

I think the Maverick hunter MMO idea is a great one.
Maybe they should take a page from Phantasy Star Online (Or PS Universe, PSO's sequel), I think that game could be amazing.
I would buy that game, even if I knew it was crap....just like X7

If anything, they should at least make a game where you can battle online with a customized reploid. THAT they should do. Screw the single player, we just want to fight online. Why not include cameo parts? Like X's helmet or Zero's buster or anything of the two? Appease the "ZeroX" or "Xero" or "XZero" fans out there.
THAT would be interesting. Choose a weapon, make a reploid, duke it out...
It'd be even cooler if Capture the Flag games were "Hunters vs. Mavericks" as well as Team Matches.
I can see the concept of the X series being ported to an online 3rd-person shooter like GunZ.

That's what I'm saying, the customized reploid. Fanfics, RP's and custom character sprites are so common, lots of people would love to be a character in a megaman game. This idea would really catch on. And like Tony said earlier, it'd have to be free, or else really well done if they wanted people to pay.

Capcom has no current plans to make a game like this, the idea has probably never crossed their minds. |
