what i ment is DONT become prez for one clump a land inside invisible lines unless you want it for the world. you know "god bless america/canada/etc." it should be "god bless us all"personally i hate national anthems. just share the land. edit:im CDN I understand where you're comin from man. Just needed a bit of clarification.

While even though the Minnesota state motto is 'first line of defense against the Canadians' I've never heard of them coming down looking for work and illegally recieving health care. Doesn't mean its not happening, I've never heard of it though. And since more Canadians speak both English and French they wouldn't stand out as much as a spanish guy that couldn't speak a word of English.

For one I highly doubt it. We have all your benefits plus more. Really kinda like health care is pretty much free if you get your leg chopped off or something.
Also its alot easier to come down from Canada to the US, jsut need a passport.

I dont really feel like writing my opinion again cause I already made a thread about this a while back...but I'll just make it brief. I think it's wrong that immigrants are getting health care and other benefits if they're illegal, but then again they take all of the jobs that some lazy ass Americans would never want to take, so I can't completely be against them. But yeah, to live here at least be legal I think. Then again, we can't even begin to imagine their hardships and what drove them to illegally come here in the first place....

There is no reason for people to jump from Canada to the US. Whatever benefit the US has, we have twice as much.
Tis' the way of socialism.

No comment on the Canada stuff... >.>;
As for illegal immigrants, I personally think they should be given the chance to gain citizenship, and if they fail, deport them. No reason they should take advantage of the US's world wide superior benefits if they're not even citizens, let alone breaking the law.

I know its wrong to come to the US illegally, but being a country that fights dictators and supports democracy, shouldnt those immigrants be helped instead of deported back to their dictator?

helped, yes, you can be an immigrant here WITHOUT citizenship, and you'd be treated just like the rest of us, with the chance of becoming a legal US citizen, so yes we ARE elping them if they go thru the system. Why should we help them if they break laws that other immigrants fight for? My parents spent a year preparing documents and proofs and such to show they wanted to become citizens here. How does it feel for immigrants like that when there are people just jumping the border and taking money from our country that legal immigrants strive hard for and did it the right way?

It's not that the government won't let them in, they just dont wanna deal with it. There are legal mexicans in this country, who legally crossed the boarder, so the system isn't that difficult that you cant get it, it's possible or none of us would be here.

Exactly, I know quite a few people where I live who went through the citizenship program. All it takes is a little bit of dedication. It can take a while but that's why people can get visa's so they can be here while becoming a citizen. It's just plain laziness in my opinion, all's they gotta do is go through the process.
