as long as states are ruled by religion there will always be wars Not really true, and that's if people practice what they preach as being peaceful. It just basically boils down to countries being controlled by religious extremists. If there wasn't extremism in (insert religion here with the exception of Buddhism) the world would be a better place period.

Off topic - ShaumanX are you an Iraqi citizen? That's cool.
On topic - No, a crusade like the Crusade Wars before will never happen again, because the purpose behind the Crusades were accomplished. Right now, everyone recognizes the power of friendship and diplomacy is the best set of actions. Iran was smart to gesture good will to Britain.

Off topic- I'm a veteran of the US NAVY, and I'm an American citizen. How did you get that I was an Iraqi? Were you joking or am I missing something? On topic- I agree with that but, I think the world would be much better without hard line extremism.

I was glad diplomacy won in this scenario. I'm sorry but it seems Bush and Co. would use any excuse to go to war given their track record. I was and am all for giving Osama a good ol' fasioned ass whoopin but it's been nearly 6 years and we still haven't got our main target. Now my brothers and sisters are busy trying to stabilize Iraq when we shouldn't have been there to begin with. I'm just glad that the sailors and marines that were captured won't be used as an excuse to go to war. I don't think the nuclear program will lead to war. Look at what happened with North Korea. They're now a nuclear power, there was no war there. As long as Iran doesn't do anything really stupid we won't be fighting them any time soon. The instant I read the part about "brothers and sisters stabilizing Iraq" I thought you were an Iraqi. Well , pardon teh potential sensitiveness but the term "brothers and sisters" are very much used amongst Muslims, hence the probable misunderstanding. But boy, I'm glad you proved me wrong. And it's nice to have a veteran soldier here on ZV. That's simply amazing. On topic - What the world needs is a religion of peace, one that emphasizes a heavy lot on love. If only people accepted him for today and decades before...

Do you even know who I am talking about?
Well anyway, glad the Britain-Iran clash ended for now. Let's see how the States is handling its own clash.

Do you even know who I am talking about? I have a pretty good idea but to delve into that i think it would require it's own thread

By all means, let's see you make one so we can talk.
On other news, seems the tensions between Iran and the US has subsided to lower levels for now. That's good. As for Iraq, long more way to go.

It doesn't seem to be the prospect in this time being.
The issue of Lebanon security. The issue of Palestinians and Israelis to agree on a shared homeland. The newest secession of Kosovo from Serbia. Darfur's issues. Plus Bush is on Africa and the IAEA has a long time ago said that Iran has stopped nuclear weapons production since 2003 (and thus Bush lowered his rhetoric). The continued military rule in Myanmar.
These issues altogether are big enough to turn the attention away from Iran.
