This thread is a possible ideas thread, but you decide if you think it will make the game better or would it just make the series go downhill, you also have to explain why.
Also Every page means a new verdict, anybody can post a verdict as long as nobody has alrady posted a verdict. Hope that isn't confusing. Ok I guess I will start....
Legend of Zelda side scrolling gameplay.
We have seen 3rd person, birds-eye-view, but only once, we have seen side scrolling, I ask do you think one Zelda title should be side scrolling.
As we know, the puzzles will be different as well as certain types combat, for example using the Boomerang or Bow. Gameplay would be like many megaman titles but I believe it will have its own special quality, like previous zelda games. I believe its a good idea, but also risky, because like I said earlier its would be kind of similar as many Megaman titles.
What do any of you think.

Considering my least favorite Zelda game was Zelda II, I'm gonna have to say a side-scrolling Zelda would be a very bad idea. XD
Being able to explore the world in three dimensions is part of what makes the Zelda experience so exciting. Nintendo experimented with side-scrolling once, and it didn't work, so they haven't done it since. And I think that was a good idea. XD

Well, actually...they still use side scrolling quite a bit in the portable Zeldas. The Oracles, MC, and Four Swords series all had side scrolling parts.

I don't recall any of those games having any side-scrolling parts. It's not "side-scrolling" if you can move in more directions other than side-to-side. >=O

There are several rooms with the ladders and under ground caves. Those scroll sideways.

Again, don't recall. But something like that doesn't even count. You can't say a Zelda game has a side-scrolling part just because there's, say, a hallway too narrow to move any direction other than left and right in. <.<;

Oh yeah, when you go into a cave with ladders in it to like, get to a higher ledge or something it's 2-D... But there aren't many places like that.
