Yo. I decided to place my progress through the Yggdrasil Labyrinth here instead of cluttering the chat with it.
For those of you who don't know, Etrian Odyssey is a series of first-person dungeon crawler games made by Atlus. Where the player constructs a guild and explores a place known as the Yggdrasil Labyrinth, fighting off monsters, finding treasure and avoiding creatures known as F.O.E.s (I prefer the term F*cking Overpowered Enemy, myself.)
During this run-through, I decided to make the guild in question a ZV Guild, and I have been making the characters from the people (Can also be someone's character.) I know here.
This thread going to be used as a progress marker of sorts, but also as a way to list off the classes in the game. Each character has to be in a specific class in order to help fend off the monsters. So use this as a reference if you want to be in the game.
Classes:
Landsknecht:
Masters of sword and axe in close range combat
- The Mario in this game...If Mario used a sword. Decent in all stats and learns a little of everything barring magic.
Survivalist:
Fleet-footed archers wise in forest lore.
- These guys know all the labyrinth's hot spots, or so they say. Specialists in bow attacks; they can be used to fiddle with encounter rates, turn order, and enemies' status.
Protector:
Holy defenders of the weak.
- Imagine tanks, but with swords instead of a cannon. Can only use swords and some attacks require shields to use. But can also set up anti-elemental barriers and can cover those in the front and back lines. (Or both, however improbable that may be.)
Dark Hunter
Their pinpoint whip strikes weaken enemies.
- Into bondage? This class is for you! Able to use swords and whips and can use attacks that keep enemies from using skills and inflict status anomalies.
Medic
Their healing Arts support the party
-The game's White Mage, low attack and defense, but can use healing skills.
Alchemist
Specialists in offensive magics
- Black Mage, pretty much. Low attack and defense but can use single-target and AoE attack spells.
Troubadour
Entertainers who inspire the party.
- The not-so spoony bard. Low defenses, can use swords but to little effect. This class specializes in party-wide buffs and dispelling enemies' buffs.
Ronin
Foreign masters of all forms of combat.
- This class's motto is "Katanas are just better." Can learn many attack skills with a katana equipped. Low defenses, but high attack power.
Hexer
Their curses decide the enemy's fate.
- The troubadour if they dropped the bard act and converted to satanism. Low physical attack power and defense, but their skills focus on debuffing and giving the enemy highly effective status ailments. They can also use instant-kill moves.
Gunner
Uses firearms with elemental ammunition.
- High attack power, low defenses, and low speed. Can use multi-hit attacks, AoE attacks, elemental attacks, and skills that keep an enemy from using their abilities. BOOM! Headshot!
War Magus
Equally skilled in magic and melee.
- The game's Red Mage, minus the pimp hat.* Can use the Medic's healing skills, the Alchemists' attack magic, and some of the Dark Hunter's physical status changing attacks, all to lesser effect than those three classes. Hey, we can't have too many game-breakers now.
*(Though one of their pictures does get a pretty b*tchin' monocle.)
Beast
They protect their owners with teeth and claws.
- The Protector on steroids (Hell, one of their pictures is a BEAR)
High attack power, High Defense, avarage speed. Can learn weak healing "magic" and decent physical attacks.
Ok, now that that's done. Here are the people I already registered:
[Team A]
Hyperion [Gunner] (Hey that's me! =DDD)
Majeh [Landsknecht] (I would've made him the Beast (Bear design, too.), but I don't need him mauling everything more than he already does.)
Ztrl [Ronin] (As close to a ninja as he can get, unfortunately.)
Tony [War Magus] (I would've made him a Trobadour, but then I realized I didn't want to get Dragon Buster'd)
Nightmare [Hexer] (I didn't exactly ask him to join in as of yet. But I think he'll like the idea of having terrified monsters killing themselves at the sight of him. Plus, his design is purple so I had no choice. D:)
[Team B]
Random [Protector] (A colossal screw-up! >)
Alice [Troubadour] (She inspired everyone else to fight in the RP. Why not here! )
Luna [Medic] (Would've considered her for Team A, but Tony proved himself. Ah well. Maybe later. D:)
Silver [Landsknecht] (Much different from Majeh, she uses Axes! Though, she's not a dragon-lady in this game. Sorry. =/))
Peytral [Beast] (Much to his lamentation, he can't be a monk. At least he can revel in the fact that he's doing the mauling. Even if he is, essentially, a big cat.)
[Team C] (3 Spaces open)
Reaver [Alchemist] (By request. I think he just likes being the nuker in any game.)
Cem [Beast] (Originally a Survivalist, but he got bitten by a radioactive panda bear and now he's one.)
If you guys want in on the dungeon crawling fun, post here or catch me on the chat. Thanks for reading.
-Current Status: We've reached the second stratum! Woo! Now I gotta do some level grinding for Team B.-
