Comes with: Metal Gear Solid 1 (PS1 Version) Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistance (Disc 1 only)
These games are fairly old by now but the collection was released about 1-3 months ago I think. Only thing you're really missing out is some other extra features of MGS3 though it doesn't really matter as you still can play the whole main gameplay.
I wanted to try these games out for the first time so I bought the collection at a great value of 30 dollars for the set. They're really good though fairly short, about 15-24 hours of gameplay in each game. So far i'm on the third game and liking it a lot.
If any of you guys havent played the MGS games this collection is great, just note that to save in MGS1 you need a PS1 memory card.

What system are they all for? That sounds like a great deal for the three games.

MGS3 can actually be considered a prequel of the series. I personally like MGS1 and MGS3 the most out of the collection.
Games are fairly short though after beating all three you'll feel like having to play each of them again, there's so many ways of dealing with the enemies; sneaking, assasinating, etc.

I personally abhorred going the tranquilizer method of dispatching enemies in MGS3... I mean so many guns all lethal, but only a few real tranquilzer types? (The ezgun, on easy/very easy only or earned after completeing certain challenges on an additional playthrough an for other difficulties, mk22 and the Mosin Nagant.) So basically one gun until you unlock the other two or unless you start on easy/very easy... But even then... 3 out of all of them. Granted it isn't too much harder, but is still a pain.
But otherwise I liked MGS3 the most, then 1 and 2 were tied... As MGS2 had the first person perspective added for all guns, which made shooting things alot easier, but conversely the whole second half of the game... in Big shell was annoying. Though both MGS1 and 2 had some pretty awesome moments as well... So all in all, if you don't have any MGS games, or gave never tried them, then this is the pack to buy. It's not too expensive and each game does provide a decent challenge and each has enough length to it so that you don't feel ripped off for what your buying. (Especially if you've never played/owned any MGS games before.)

MGS1 was the original experience that started it all.
MGS2 felt good, but also lacking. Had good mind games going on as well, I almost turned the PS2 off when I first heard the Colonel tell me to turn it off. Then I got curious as to what would happen if I didn't.
MGS3 felt kinda lacking in the classic stealth inside a building area. It was still fun, but not as fun as the other two.

Are you referring to the part where Raiden meets the president?
Cause if it's that part then something like it happens in MGS3 as well.
Though I kinda liked the stealth outdoors a bit more than stealth inside the buildings for MGS3, it made lacking the soliton radar system not so much of an issue... As instead of having to worry about what was around a corner you couldn't see inside a building, you only had to worry about the enemies that were roughly always visible to some degree in a generally open area. And you could easily use several tactics on the enemies in the open... From stealthily k.o.ing them from behind or tranq gunning them or if absolutely had to, (and my personal favourite) crawl behind them, rise from the bushes and slit their throats with the knife.

I'd just like to remind you all that whosoever owes a PS3, you will soon be cheering, for the MGS4 Guns of the Patriots is set for release on June 12th 2008.
Be prepared for the final game in the series. We'd see what happened to Liquid and Ocelot. Everyone is going to make cameos in it.

ive only played mgs2 (raidens), which i liked because of the plot ideas. i cant remember where i stopped, but i got tired of the controls. they have there pros/cons. played it on xbox, which i found to be much better. not too hyped for mgs4 cuz ive never been a snake fan.
i own a pswii60.
