Not every bomb takes that long, theres some fast bombs on CRA. I dunno how parts are on the GC version. Even if they dont hit, bombs and pods will still make you have to dodge them, that's a fact. You use them to put pressure on the enemy so they wont have enough time to dodge your gun shot or charge/melee.

CRA has three strike vanishers I think, Pike, Javelin, and Glaive. I think Javelin is in the GCN version, dunno if the others are.
My new setup on CRA:
Power Ape Sniper/Homing Star Missles Delta Bomb/Geotrap Bomb Double Wave Pod
Delta bomb makes 3 explosions in triangle formation, Double Wave makes 3 explosions at the side, I just use this to keep the opponent busy while I make way for a sniper or homing star shot.

I've currently got this setup:
Ray Mk II Blade Gun Gemini Bomb B Speed Pod D Formula Legs
I probably really need to make some progress in this game.

Yeah, you dont really get any useful parts till you get to that island place.

Well, the Blade Gun kinda fits my strategy really well, as well as the Formula Legs. The current setup I have going works well, too. I don't use a Ray MK II anymore by the way.
Glaive Blade Gun Straight Bomb T Satellite Pod Formula Legs

That seems like an interesting setup, how do you usualy use it when fighting?
Current one:
Tempest Sniper Gun/After Burner Gun/Homing Star Delta Bomb/Geotrap Bomb Booster Legs
For afterburner or homing star first I shoot off a bomb at one side of the enemy, by instinct they'll move away since they can't fly over it usualy. Then I fly in direction where they move. Since Tempst is a lightning sky and transforms into an jet I can shoot while hes flying. After burner shoots in one direction unless you're moving, so basicly a spread of fire lines go across the map, and they'll have to run back into the bomb's explosion radius (which is good since geo trap takes a few secs to fully expand) to get away from after burner. Double wave pod I sh oot in a way to to add more explosions to the side to lock the enemy.
After burner is good on Wi-Fi, since its slow at first but then really fast later, so it can really pressurize the enemy into playing mistakes in their plans. Homing star basicly the same but fast instantly.

My strategy with my Robo is cornering my opponent and laying the smack down with the Blade Gun. The shadow-dashing also helps me dodge a lot better, and let's face it nothing beats a Shoryuken for a charge. The Satellite Pod I use often on opponents that like to move, also in close range. If my opponent's close enough to me and I'm not down I usually unleash three at once, or I go after you with the Blade Gun. The STraight Bomb I've never managed to hit anything with, so I don't use it other than for hoping and praying.
Oh, and the Diorama where you see two Robos (with the Tempest design, I can tell) flying home is one I'm using, with my robo standing on top of one. Very cool.
Also, in-game wise I've made it to E... E-something Isle.
