Indeed all too true I must say. But I stand by the doubt that it is impossible for Protoman to appear, since the timeframe of the bloody attack showed all Reploid designs, as opposed to Robot Masters or anything of the Megaman Classic age.

... Old fairy tales.
Dr Wily and Dr Weil have totally no connections as they were already two different people, as proven by RMZ Complete Works.
MM3 or MM4 - that was just a hologram.

I believe Wily and Weil are the same guy but I'm not going to type up my whole timeline theory again, its probably somewhere in this thread, go find it if you're interested. Cain has no connection anyone, he's just the guy who found X. And Fanwriter is right about the alien crap, that was just a fake.

I thought that way too at first but after playing X5 I started thinking. X wakes up after 100 years right? By that time Dr. Light is dead. You would think Wily would be dead too. But in X5, Sigma reveals that Wily is his new partner. The only way Wily could survive would be if he had Weil's suit and body which ensure that he can never die... Me founds Swim's theory of continuity. I thought it was explicitly stated in RMZ Complete Works that Weil was human before the Elf Wars.

Weil is human, he's just been made robotic, not unlike what humans in ZX do to bridge the gap between themselves and the reploids.

And therefore I do not see how that is connected to Wily still.
Ah well.
