The past few days have been a true whirlwind of events following Keiji Inafune’s announcement of the Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter at PAX, which has not only reached but surpassed its $900,000 goal in just under two days, sitting now at $1,174,553 as of this writing. With further stretch goals to reach and nearly a month left to do it in, we can only hope that it reaches the $2,500,000 necessary to bring it to consoles. $1.5 Million has been broken and they're shifting the stretch goals now to make it more of a priority to bring the game to consoles.

With the total of $2,371,000 above now ...
But the game will be available digitally to the PS3.
The word digitally there - does that mean it's downloadable, or we still buy the BluRay like normal?

www.at7addak.com/article/s/1816173643In a recent Q&A, Inafune stated that a red armored sword wielding character would be making an appearance in the game. Which I think is kind of neat considering I thought Mighty 9 was a throwback to Classic Megaman what with Beck and Call being the new Rock and Roll. But if Zero is in it makes me wonder if its a hybrid of all the Megaman series and Inafune will be drawing on popular characters from each. I'd like to see Vile and Dynamo re-imagined, though I'm okay if Sigma doesn't rear his ugly head this time.

I dunno what if anything it means. The classic series had a cool red guy in Protoman, though he did imply this Mighty No. 9 cool red guy would also have a sword, so maybe he'll be more Zero-ish.
I'm interested in seeing how much story will be involved with this game. Personally I think I'd prefer it if it was kept simple like in the earlier games, maybe like in MMX with just some light narration and dialog strewn about the important parts of the game. Also curious as to whether this new character mentioned will be a good guy or a bad guy. And more importantly if he'll be playable.

So Inafune will resurrect the Rockman franchise regardless of Capcom. Good to see he hasn't completely euthanized his baby after all this time (that ridiculous MM9...)
Now all that's left is to pray that fans can redeem themselves by NOT voting on the obvious Roll design for Call and we'll be getting somewhere.

This doesn't surprise me really, Inafune's always favored Zero's design. After all Zero's design is what he originally proposed for Megaman X. I wouldn't mind a little throwback and recognition to X and Zero, but I hope Mighty No. 9 doesn't turn into X and Zero pt. 2.
