Xzero explains his comic concepts "Zero Saga" and "MegaMan Omega" and how they attempt to tie together the MegaMan Universe.<Xzero> Im gonna go over what was once a comic called Zero Saga, which is a short explanation and what its meant to be today and just get it out there. <Xzero> Zero Saga was obvious and it was took cues from the tv series where X traveled back in time <Xzero> in that Megaman was actually going to defeat spark mandrill with protoman <Xzero> this would later be used to damage Zero <Xzero> (using the spark mandrill weapon) <Xzero> It was a classic Zero kills everyone comic <Xzero> The comic as it is now actually has a trailer in the the Comics section, as I had planned and still might do it despite spoilers for myself. And in no way shape or form does it go anything like this: <Xzero> orig07.deviantart.net/0276/f/2011/205/b/5/maverick_zero_by_mr_w-d41i2jv.jpg<Xzero> It is called Megaman Omega. <Xzero> To put things very simply. Wily was Humbled by getting sick and his plans falling down. He was actually at the point he was in the "Quint" future where he was giving up. Slowly going back hiding and dismantling old works. Bass Who was also losing his way was searching for and found him. Insert some arguments where Bass is almost offended at Wily giving up, despite being fully aware of a Developing Zero who he wants to destroy in a fight as much as megaman. But zero has no personality developed at all. Not even near finished. <Xzero> The huge issue that goes on here, is Wily has a AI that keeps trying to talk too. Another "failed expierment initally designed to finish Zero. He gave up on that too which led into it being underdeveloped and it abusing the situation like Evil Wily would where instead of Wily finally going to shut it down it makes its way into Bass. <Xzero> This is during some of Bass being patched up after it was "shutdown" <Xzero> The AI exploits the evil energy left over in the Bassium (as Bassium turns out to hold onto it and slightly alter it) and essentially used Bass as a vessel it of course doesnt go right, their minds mesh badly a reaction is bad and now you have a fudgeed up Bass running around destroying sh*t. <Xzero> The usual things go forward. (Megaman tries to stop him) And Roll who knew about X (but wasnt suppose to) Decided to take it upon herself to unlock him from his capsule to help megaman who was getting rekt. What she didnt know was that he wasnt done either. As his reasoning chip had been test in megaman 7 and she knew nothing of Megaman decding he was more <Xzero> than a robot and trying to kill Wily. <Xzero> Which is Natural Light wouldnt want to share that. Megaman jumps in <Xzero> Fights Bass. <Xzero> Wins <Xzero> Bass is subdued and alive and megaman says something about fixing him <Xzero> Light is pissed but cant really do anything about Rolls ignorance <Xzero> Bass at this point is subdued enough to be normal enough to be fixed <Xzero> They talk about taking him to light <Xzero> And then X Blows his head off <Xzero> oops <Xzero> X decides That it was in the better interest of things if that didnt happen. <Xzero> Megaman is very upset. <Xzero> X threatens him. <Xzero> Saying basically that a robot that doesnt stop evil is evil <Nightmare> Somewhere along the line X forgot he was a pacifist and got a huge bug up his ass. <Xzero> so X does want to just go to sleep <Xzero> he thinks he can really help <Xzero> Light isnt so trusting of this <Xzero> He outright Murdered Bass despite popular opinion <Xzero> X through data mining of lights computer behind their back and day to day life learns of Wily <Xzero> all of his evil <Xzero> and how robots have caused havoc <Xzero> and its very clear at this point that something is up <Xzero> Whatever was wrong with Bass is starting to show signs in X <Xzero> X decides basically that Wily and any robot ever associated with him is a danger <Xzero> and that the world wont be safe til they are dead <Xzero> Which is most robots. <Xzero> So X in a very elegant and Organized way starts causing issues <Xzero> And what can they do? Hes X <Xzero> They track him with Beat <Nightmare> So X has now become evil <Xzero> Not to him <Xzero> But the line is drawn when a few robots take the mantle to stop him <Xzero> they are easily killed <Xzero> several run <Xzero> but one <Xzero> Yamato Man. <Xzero> X even comments that he wasnt fleeing, and Yamato man says something to the extent of: "there is no honor in that" <Xzero> And X instead of a quick dispatch, mangles him <XeroBloodline> Huh, figured it'd be Snake Man. <XeroBloodline> Everyone knows Snake Man is best robot master evah, right? <XeroBloodline> Just go ask Nightshade... <Nightmare> Right Xero? <Xzero> So insert some better writing and organization of these plot points <Xzero> and obviously Wily Teams up with Megaman and Light <Xzero> They look at blueprints of X and try to make a plan <Xzero> Protoman throws in the typical, well i could be a bomb line <Xzero> Instead Light and Wily, fix his sh*t and use to make him extra strong. And also improve the rush attacments. <Xzero> They have a huge fight. <Xzero> Protoman Dies. <Xzero> Megaman also gets rekt and saves rush but disattaching himself <Xzero> he doesnt die but gets hurt bad. <Xzero> He is Saved by Quint. <Xzero> Quint would later explain that his design was and the plot of his time travel was designed for this moment by wily to save the world <Xzero> Now, granted. <Xzero> So as it turns out, the Zero reasoning chip that hadnt had any testing <Xzero> or anything <Xzero> had been put in megaman after this <Xzero> so that when he "retired" <Xzero> They would catch him way later <Xzero> he would go back <Xzero> and have all that time again <Xzero> for the diagnostics to run its tests <Xzero> that why quint was never seen again. He did what he needed to do and went back to a capsule to finish <Xzero> He even combines with Rush for his fight with X which is basically a distraction while they prep Zero. (he knows hes going to get blown up) <Xzero> and while he damages Zero he does lose <Xzero> And they take that Megamans mind out of quint with Zeros reasoning chip now ready to go. <Xzero> And you get your final battle Zero vs X <Xzero> Which ends with the virus doing what it was meant to do and going into Zero <Xzero> who is sealed away <Xzero> so Zero is actually Megaman <Xzero> (as infaune wanted) <Nightmare> Wut <Nightmare> Hax. <Nightmare> That's a twist. <Xzero> Protomans helmet ended up being Quints <Xzero> Which when the whole quint thing happens <Xzero> Quints body (which was kept by old wily) is seen by young wily <Xzero> and they base Megamans remodel on it <Xzero> and Megaman Shadow is actually that body waking up <Swim> I could see that being an alternative timeline. <Xzero> and Protomans mind which is partially in the parts and helmet being confused <Xzero> leading him to rebuild himself <Xzero> and lay waste to the world <Xzero> which is why the world almost seemed setback before X was found <Nightmare> Dang. <Xzero> He destroyed it <Xzero> but he was still a good guy cause he was protoman <Xzero> As for X the scenes from the psp game happened after this comic <Xzero> he was being REBUILT <Xzero> in those scenes <Xzero> not built the first time <Xzero> And its why he is immune to the virus <Xzero> because hes already been exposed and light was able to do something about it <Xzero> The whole W on Zeros forhead and whatnot <Nightmare> Kind of a neat take, that X wasn't just magically perfect, he had a nasty failure that lead to his success. <Xzero> That was a Wily Failsafe made for the X fight <Xzero> And his dreams? <Xzero> That was actually when megaman was quint <Xzero> but because he was Zero then the saw himself as Zero in the dream <Xzero> That was actually young wily telling quint to destroy megaman <Xzero> His "Greateast creation" <Xzero> a stolen megaman <Xzero> The story also goes into how the time paradox happened <Xzero> stating that initially the world was very different <Xzero> robotic werent even a thing <Xzero> something catstropic happened though that ended the world <Xzero> and they thought if only light didnt go into networking <Xzero> which led into this one <Xzero> and made a paradox <Xzero> So it actually goes Network series. Starforce. Time travel event which makes light chose robotics. Initial time travel incident. Paradox <Xzero> The change in time also caused ripples in the new timeline since its always in flux <Xzero> causing some alterations as it cycles through <Xzero> thus <Xzero> command mission <Xzero> multiple endings <Xzero> Zero seemlingy coming from x5 <Xzero> but not <Xzero> its all from the inital incident. <Xzero> Just in time im done <Xzero> Any questions XD <Nightmare> Not really. <Nightmare> Seemed pretty thorough. <Nightmare> Interesting take on the timeline. <Xzero> It was designed to tie up all loose ends of megaman <Swim> I feel like this would've been terribly confusing in comic form. <Xzero> It was 4 chapters <Swim> But all summed up in one place, I follow. <Nightmare> lawl <Xzero> Truth. Understanding. Violence. Wily <Xzero> Omega was what the AI <Xzero> but the AI was named Omega <Xzero> (small MMZ tie) <Xzero> and i had planned to organize it well <Xzero> i hope it wasnt too confusing everyone sorry <Nightmare> You're good dude. <Nightmare> Thanks for sharing. <Nightmare> Glad to finally see the end of one of your comics. <Nightmare> lawl

Nightmare explains the concept of "Nightmare Chronicles", a comic meant to reboot the story told in "NightmareMMZero Comics", detailing the setting and the first three story arcs.<Nightmare> Well. <Nightmare> Let's talk about the reboot I guess. <Nightmare> Since it's what's most relevant now I guess since it's that I consider canon. <Nightmare> Hearing about the rest of the old comic would probably be amusing but would also be confusing and dumb. <Nightmare> Also the reboot isn't as long as the old comic cause I cut a lot of stuff. <Nightmare> This is basically what my comic would have been if I ever went through with starting it over with better writing and sprites and stuff. <Nightmare> SO YEAH <Nightmare> Nightmare Chronicles. <Nightmare> The chronicles of Nightmare. <Nightmare> I'll start with a smidge of world-building background. <Nightmare> In this iteration of the comic I've divorced myself from the MegaMan universe completely. Now there are still elements that are obviously inspired by MegaMan but it lacks any of the terminology or characters. <Nightmare> In the setting then, let's say about a few decades prior to present time there was something of a bounty hunting revolution. <Nightmare> Bounty hunters were all over the f**king place and there were lots of groups. This happened partially because the governments across the world were doing experiments on their soldiers a lot and creating wide-spread super soldiers of various kinds. Some of them had super strength, some were gifted with magic, others were infused with animal DNA, others cybernetic enhancements. <Nightmare> Etc. <Nightmare> And so things got violent and governments got corrupt and the people stopped trusting them and their crooked super powered soldiers, and so bounty hunting boomed cause people would rather pay impartial assholes to do the policing than trust their local militaries and police forces. <Nightmare> But then bounty hunting got too big. It got to a point where soldiers stopped working for the governments for their low wages when they could get paid much higher commissions as bounty hunters. <Nightmare> And this flooded the market not only with bounty hunters but super powered bounty hunters as well, which people went to more often (despite their previous distrust of them) because they were stronger and considered "more capable." <Nightmare> Thus causing smaller bounty hunting groups to either turn to crime or to get defensive and fight turf wars. <Nightmare> Sh*t got way out of hand. <Nightmare> Finally one particularly large and prestigious bounty hunting group stepped forward and decided "This sh*t gotta stop." and won over the favor of a number of other groups. They banded together under the principle of getting sh*t under control by having a lot more organization and stricter guidelines for how they conduct themselves, blah blah blah. <Nightmare> And thus, the Hunters' Guild was born. <Nightmare> Which was a gigantic bounty hunting organization that basically over time established all but a total global monopoly on the bounty hunting trade because they were so much more professional and organized, and over time larger and better equipped than any of the smaller organizations, which had a lot of trouble competing with them. <Nightmare> Eventually they became so big that entire cities sprouted up around their five biggest bases of operations, these cities became North City, West City, East City, South City, and Central City. <XeroBloodline> Because names are hard. <Nightmare> Apparently. <Nightmare> too much bounty hunting, not enough literature classes. <XeroBloodline> I assume these cities are at least in the right location, correct? <XeroBloodline> North City's not like on the eastern continent or nothing... <Nightmare> Yes. <XeroBloodline> Good. Cause that would just be silly. <Nightmare> And the Hunters' Guild became so big and trusted that they basically became a huge impartial army that even world governments would rather hire a bunch of Hunters than use their own soldiers. <Nightmare> Hunters also expanded to encapsule a lot of different sh*t. <Nightmare> Hunting bad guys. But also other stuff like say espionage, protection, and even more mundane stuff. <Nightmare> they more or less became general mercenaries you can hire for whatever you want. You put a petition in with the Hunters' Guild describing your job and what you'll pay for it, and some asshole will probably take the job. <Nightmare> As you can gather, this organization more or less replaces the Maverick Hunters in my comic. <Swim> Seems like a bit more lawless and more wild west but yeah. <Nightmare> Kinda. <Nightmare> By this point the Hunters' Guild is really big an bureaucratic compared to the more wild west-y days. <Nightmare> Which brings me to the start of the story, which focuses on Neoforte. Now, at this point Neoforte is a Hunter but not with the Hunters' Guild, but rather with a smaller organization. He would explain that he grew up in a kind of secluded place so something like the Hunters' Guild was kinda jarring so he wanted something smaller and more intimate. <Nightmare> And he wasn't in it for the money. Because of shenanigans with his past he just wanted to get away and find a way to help people. <Nightmare> So he's been doing small sh*t jobs for this tiny organization that's struggling to compete with the Hunters' Guild in East City. <Nightmare> And lo and behold he gets a sh*t job dropped in his lap. <Nightmare> Apparently some asshole with an obviously fake name specifically requested Neoforte's services for a job based on Neoforte's credentials. <Nightmare> Neoforte finds the whole business shady but his curiosity is piqued. He goes to meet the client to see if he wants to take the job, and finds some sh*thead dressed all suspiciously with nothing visible but his eyes. The name is fake and Neoforte knows it, he calls him out on it and the client deflects that question. <Nightmare> When asked why he's hiding his face he says that sunlight isn't good for his skin. Red flags everywhere. Guy wants Neoforte to be a live-in assistant that'll help with house work and "other tasks" and protect him as a bodyguard. Basically a battle butler. <Nightmare> Despite this whole thing sounding retarded and shady as f**k, he doesn't really get any sense of malicious intent, which further interests him. He reluctantly agrees to take the job and is supposed to meet his client the next day at a dock in East City. <Nightmare> They meet, get on the boat, it's just the two of them. Client starts the boat off into the ocean. After they get far enough out that they can't see anything but water in all directions, the client puts it on autopilot and comes out and hits Neoforte with "I gotta show you something." <Nightmare> Client strips off his top layers and it's some vaguely effeminate-looking purple bastard. Neoforte is surprisingly unfaized. When the purple guy comments "Don't you think I look weird?" Neoforte basically says "Yeah you look weird as hell. But I grew up in a remote place, lots of stuff everyone pretends is normal seems weird to me. Wasn't sure if it was you or me." <XeroBloodline> ...I guess from Neoforte's perspective, that's a fair point. <Nightmare> The two somewhat bond over that and arrive at their destination, which is a small island off the coast of East City. It's overgrown a bit but has docks for them to land at, and in the middle of the island is a sizable abandoned military base. Apparently this purple bastard has somehow procured some energy cels and MacGyuver'd a working generator so he could (mostly) power the facility and has been squatting in it for some time. <Nightmare> This is obviously a similar case to Nightmare's "house" in my comic, but it's not nearly as big as that "MMZ2 Resistance base stacked on top of the MMZ1 Resistance base" concept that we saw in the comic. <Nightmare> Anyway basically Purple Guy doesn't have a name, he dances around his identity after Neoforte calls bullsh*t on the name he gave him and Neoforte is too curious to bail if he doesn't tell him. <Nightmare> Purple gives Neoforte the grand tour of the house (similar to how he did with Spex in the original) and then kind of walks him through what he expects of Neoforte. <Nightmare> Which basically amounts to "Keep the house tidy, run errands for me, and protect me from Hunters while I play on the computer." <Nightmare> Neoforte is basically wondering "Wait why the hell are Hunters after you?" to which Purple responds "I'unno, I didn't do anything." and goes back about his business. More red flags, but for some reason Neoforte can't quite pull the trigger on Nope-ing right out of there. <XeroBloodline> It's his Purplish charm. Who can resist that lovely shade of lavender...? <Nightmare> Right? <Nightmare> Things are pretty chill for a few days. Neoforte helps straighten up around the place, even parts of the base Purple Guy wasn't using. Found some useful stuff too. Neoforte finds that this asshole pretty much just sits at this big computer in this one room almost all day every day sucking on lollipops. They barely speak. Neoforte even cooks and he just takes it to the computer room and eats there. <Nightmare> Has no idea what he's doing on that computer, and is just assured that it's "research" or something and that it's "super important." <Nightmare> Whatever, he's paying him a fair amount for the easy work he's doing. Neoforte can't bitch too much. <XeroBloodline> Where does a Purple locked away on a computer get money...? <Nightmare> ^ Another red flag <XeroBloodline> This purple man clearly would have been ejected from the soccer game already... <Nightmare> But things stop being totally normal when one day a small pod lands on toe helipad on top of the base. <XeroBloodline> Oh no... <Nightmare> Purple guy and Neoforte examine through cameras. A little one-man ship has landed atop it. Purple says it's probably another Hunter looking for him and that it's Neoforte's time to shine. They see on the security footage a guy get out. <Nightmare> It's a f**king cat man. <Nightmare> Neoforte is not down to yiff, he's going to beat some ass. <XeroBloodline> Silly Purple man... <XeroBloodline> Hunters look like humans, with normal noses, small round ears, and hair only in a few select places. <XeroBloodline> That, my friend, is a cat. <Swim> Some things don't change <Nightmare> Now, real talk for a sec. <Nightmare> Would have 100% made Spex not a cat, by this point Paul has no influence over this character and I've taken charge completely. But there's one reason I kept him a furry for one reason and one reason alone. <Nightmare> ^ that line. "That, my friend, is a cat." <Nightmare> Wouldn't have been able to live with myself if I cut everyone's favorite line from my comic. <Nightmare> So I couldn't eliminate its context. <Swim> Plus, litterbox planet is canon now. <Nightmare> Well, not anymore actually. <Nightmare> More on that in a bit. <Nightmare> Purple guy and Cat Man have never met before in this iteration of the story. Purple guy assumes Cat Man must be a Hunter looking for him, presuming him to be a Beastman. I.E: A super Soldier merged with animal DNA. <Nightmare> Cat Man get out of his ship and starts basically rummaging around looking for sh*t to take, starts messing stuff up and pocketing sh*t. <Nightmare> Neoforte ambushes him. <Nightmare> The two fight. <Nightmare> Through the course of the struggle, Cat Man admits he has no idea what's going on and had no idea anyone was here and that if Neoforte could spare him some fuel he'd leave. <Nightmare> Purple hears the whole thing and ultimately intervenes in the fight, breaking it up. Cat Man introduces himself as Spex, assures them he's not a Hunter, and was just almost out of fuel in his ship and landed the first solid place he could before crashing into the ocean. <Nightmare> Purple basically agrees to let Spex stay there until they can scrounge up the fuel cels to power his ship so he can leave. Instructs him to make it up by staying out of his way and helping Neoforte with his work. <Nightmare> So as you can see Nightmare and Spex's meeting is now basically completely different, as is the context behind him staying at the house and he and Neoforte's battle. <XeroBloodline> But at least he's still a cat. <Nightmare> That he is. <Swim> The status quo is basically the same though, except there's not quite as strong a friendship if he gets all murdery and needs to be put down. <Nightmare> Good thing that's been retconned to hell and back. <Nightmare> No pun intended (given Spex's backstory.) <FDSuprema> XD <Nightmare> From here things are as you said, the status quo. Purple plays on the computer, Neoforte does battle butler work, Spex annoys them both. At this point Spex starts, for lack of having an actual name for him, calling the purple guy "Captain Purple" thus earning him the closest thing to a name so far. <Nightmare> While those guys are having fun on that little island, we shift focus to the Hunters' Guild main headquarters, where we're introduced to a slew of new and important characters. <Nightmare> We meet Xerxes Raynor, the head of the Hunters' Guild. We also meet his five commanders: Edge Densetsu, Commander of Central City. Wesler Donias, Commander of North City. Jonathan Rhodes, Commander of West City. Hanna Corona, Commander of East City. And Zocktas Lanadel, Commander of South City. <Nightmare> These guys are basically the heads of the major branches of the Hunters' Guild and are the top of the food chain in their respective regions. <Nightmare> Some of these guys should sound familiar to ya'll. <XeroBloodline> Little bit, yeah. <Nightmare> Now. <Nightmare> The Hunters' Guild is meeting to discuss a big problem that's been dropped in their lap by several world governments. <Nightmare> There's a little something called the Bloody Nightmare f**king sh*t up all over the place and the Hunters' Guild has been commissioned to do something about it by any means necessary. * XeroBloodline waves. <XeroBloodline> Told you I love wrecking sh*t. <Nightmare> After talking about it for a bit, they come to the conclusion that they're more or less f**ked. They've already thrown some elite hunters at this thing and it's killed the sh*t out of most of them and f**ked up the rest. <Nightmare> That is until Corona puts forward something. <Nightmare> She got a shady-ass tip from a guy calling himself Serge Abdul, saying that something he referred to as "Audacity's Nightmare" has been hiding under her nose for some time, and that he'll petition the warriors of Sasake Village to help the Hunters Guild capture it and use it to try and fight the Bloody Nightmare. <Nightmare> Since its his opinion that the solution to their problems would be a battle between a couple Nightmares. <Nightmare> Under the condition that he gets to keep whichever one lives. That they'll contain it for study. <Nightmare> Corona initially said "f**k you and the horse you rode in on" but after these latest developments she has become somewhat open-minded to the shady request. <XeroBloodline> You're probably not paraphrasing that, are you? That's probably literally what she said. <Nightmare> Pretty much. <Nightmare> She puts it out there. Commander Lanadel immediately says to do it because what the hell do we care of these monsters kill each other in a best case scenario, and worst case one of them lives and some scientists get to poke it with a stick forever? <Nightmare> Rhodes says it's dangerous and immoral to try and solve a problem by reenacting Godzilla vs King Kong and that it'd be inhumane to hand over either of them to science. Donias agrees. <Nightmare> Raynor, the leader, makes Edge be the tie breaker. He reluctantly agrees with Corona just because he can't figure out what to do otherwise. So Raynor gives the order that the Hunters are to offer their resources to Corona to help her capture Audacity's Nightmare. <Nightmare> From here the Hunter Invasion Arc plays out mostly the same. A few less battles, some different cameos, and much less gratuitous murder on the part of Nightmare, Neoforte, and Spex. <Nightmare> And they're after Nightmare and not Spex. <XeroBloodline> ...because they want you to kill me. <Swim> Makes sense <Nightmare> So an asston of Hunters show up. Captain Purple says "S-So, Neoforte, you remember your job description right?" Neoforte doesn't like this sh*t one bit but damn he is technically under contract and it's not like Purple didn't straight up tell him he might be doing this. Though this is much larger scale. <Nightmare> Much to their surprise Spex decides to help out cause he likes us and we gave him a place to say. Cool, three dudes against an army is slightly better than two dudes against an army. <Nightmare> Basically Purple, Neoforte, and Spex nonlethally beat up a bunch of Hunters, try and lock them out of the house, beat up more Hunters when they break in, etc. Shenanigans ensue. <Nightmare> Then here comes the help Serge Abdul promised Corona. <Nightmare> Three powerful warriors which turn out to be from the same hometown as Neoforte (and are strong in the same vein as him) escourting a girl who can't be older than 14-16 years old in a white and red cloak. <Nightmare> <Readers> *collective ah crap* <Bloodbane> Aw hell. <XeroBloodline> =D <Nightmare> Nadia stands back (not necessarily pleased) as her escourts suddenly start killing everyone. They start blowing up unconscious Hunters, offing the ones who were fighting, shooting down transport ships. <Nightmare> Kill everyone. <Nightmare> Purple is like "Wtf" Spex is like "Wtf" Neoforte is like "aw crap" <Nightmare> Nadia makes us an Azi Draharikoh. <Nightmare> Cue Otherworld. * XeroBloodline starts shredding on the Nevan. <XeroBloodline> <Nightmare> This plays our more or less the same. They have to not get eaten by the dragon. Spex whips us up a shadow dragon. Neoforte doesn't want Nadia killed cause he knows her from when she was a child. Dragon starts killing all the remaining Hunters and coming after the three of them again. <Nightmare> Spex eventually says to hell with it and offs Nadia because it was the only way to stop the dragon. <XeroBloodline> That damn poodle... <Nightmare> Neoforte's pissed but he can't exactly blame Spex. <FDSuprema> <Nightmare> F**king poodle. <Nightmare> Purple, Neoforte, and Spex then have to fight Nadia's attendants, who were apparently instructed to take in Nightmare themselves if the Hunters couldn't handle it. <Nightmare> At this point we get a little exposition. <Nightmare> Captain Purple is identified as Nightmare, Audacity's greatest creation. <Nightmare> Spex knows what that means, Neoforte doesn't. Captain Purple doesn't deny it, admitting that the man he was before is long gone and that he is indeed Nightmare. <XeroBloodline> Dun dun duuuuuunnnn!! <Nightmare> From this point on you'll notice most antagonists will refer to this purple guy as Nightmare, but his friends won't really. <Nightmare> More exposition, Audacity was a dangerous warlord who about 7 years prior to the start of the story tried to take over the nation of Xodia in a brutal civil war. <Nightmare> He was a mad scientist who turned his soldiers into weapons through human experimentation. <Nightmare> and his ultimate creation was a monster called "Nightmare" that was supposed to be his trump card, but something went wrong there and it was supposedly defeated by the hero of the resistance. <Nightmare> Thus causing Audacity to flee and disappear, not to be heard from since then and allowing the Xodian people to beat back his forces and reestablish control of the country. <Nightmare> So after all that time this purple dude is supposedly Nightmare. <Nightmare> Kinda underwhelming. <Nightmare> But whatever. <Nightmare> Doesn't change Neoforte's mind and for some reason Spex is even more motivated. <Nightmare> Also now Corona is pissed because her reinforcements turned on her and a sh*t ton of people died stupidly. <Nightmare> Extra Corona mad points for this whole thing making her look stupid. <Nightmare> <Edge> "I thought I told you not to screw up" <Nightmare> <Corona> i2.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/003/878/1237917779613a.jpg<Bloodbane> XD <Nightmare> Anyways. Ultimately the rest of the fight plays out kinda similar. Raynor sends in the White Ops, which are basically his personal men, aka the best Hunters the Guild has to offer. They relatively easily subdue the already badly worn out Nightmare, Neoforte, and Spex. The three of them are taken to different Hunter bases to be interrogated. Spex is in North City, Nightmare in East, Neoforte in Central. <Nightmare> Corona is pissed the hell off that all of this crap was for a scrawny, kind of annoying Purple guy and is 100% convinced she's been bamboozled. <Nightmare> Edge can't get anything useful out of Neoforte and gets drunk. <Nightmare> And before Spex can be interrogated in North City, the f**king Bloody Nightmare kicks their door in and starts having his way with everything inside. * XeroBloodline waves again. <Nightmare> Spex bails the f**k out before the whole base is leveled and then the Bloody Nightmare situation works itself out. (See: Cursed Bloodlines) <XeroBloodline> Which, for the record, happens pretty much as it does in my comic. But I'll go over my retconned changes later. <Nightmare> This ultimately results in Edge and Corona telling Neoforte and Nightmare to piss off. <Nightmare> Nightmare goes home and is surprised to find Neoforte and Spex waiting for him, figuring after all that they would have pressed the shiny red "NOPE" button and got the hell out of dodge. <Nightmare> But Neoforte has a job to do and is dedicated as f**k. And Spex has new friends! <Nightmare> Yay. <XeroBloodline> Yay Purple's possee. <Nightmare> From there, Spex is a welcome addition to the household, and they kind of go about their business as usual. <Nightmare> Now I'm going to confess. <Nightmare> I'm not 100% sure how the beginning of the Aura Stone Arc will go because without the Human Spex element it's a lot different than the original comic. <Nightmare> And I have a few ideas and haven't picked which one is the best option. <XeroBloodline> Yeah because Human Spex clearly made so much sense... <Nightmare> So for the sake of time I'm going to skim over this arc a bit and basically say it's close to the same, only Spex isn't evil cause he's possessed by an evil spirit or anything like that. <Nightmare> He still is powerful and goes on a rampage, but it's more like a primal rage. He's basically non-intellegent and is just an angry animal. <Nightmare> All I have to say about the Aura Stone Arc right now is that Spex is just a wild animal breaking things like an angry bull in a china shop. The fights are different but key ones such as the one vs Neoforte, vs Nightmare, and vs Xero are still in tact. <Nightmare> And that rather than contain his evil spirit, Neoforte and Nightmare are looking to expel the energy f**king with his body entirely (since it's not coming from within him but an outside influence.) <Nightmare> The end is more or less the same, Neoforte fights him to stall, then Nightmare fights him, we get our first glimpse of the True Nightmare for a sec, and Neoforte shoots Spex, returning him to his senses. <Nightmare> The rampage is also a bit less exaggerated. Like he's not slaughtering hundreds of people and leveling entire cities anymore. <Nightmare> But he's still dangerous and there are still bodies. <Nightmare> So he's dangerous and a pain in the ass but not on a Bloody Nightmare scale. <Nightmare> And I think that's where I'll leave it. I laid out the rebooted setting and got us caught up with the old comic. <Nightmare> I'll continue next time we do this, whenever we decide to do that. <Nightmare> Anyone got any questions or comments? <Swim> Is this new Spex still raised from Hell? <Nightmare> No. This new Spex, as we would find out later in the story, is actually one of Audacity's experiments. Remember how during the Xodian Civil War Audacity had experimented on his soldiers to make them weapons? <Nightmare> Apparently that included some yiffing. <Nightmare> So he and Nightmare are kind of brothers??? <Nightmare> Ish??? <Nightmare> Basically Spex is kind of like a werewolf. But he turns into a cat thingy. He CAN shift into a human form but he likes being a cat, presumably because he's a f*g**t. <XeroBloodline> Am I the only bloodthirsty monstrosity around here not made by Audacity...? <Nightmare> We do see later, much to everyone's surprise, that Spex can turn into a human. But unlike in the old comic this doesn't change anything but his appearance. <Swim> Where's he get his darkness dragon if not from hell? <Nightmare> Spex's Shadow Flame is a just a pure magical construct from his own energy, to put it simply. <Nightmare> It's not so special as before, where it was some bullsh*t like it was literally hellfire. <Nightmare> That's why I changed the name from "Darkness Flame" to "Shadow Flame". For all the good it did name-wise it was a subtle tweak to differentiate them and distance themself from the implications created by stealing the name of Hiei's attack from Yu Yu Hakusho. <Nightmare> Nightmare's backstory is pretty different in this iteration, Spex's is completely different and barely recognizable, and Neoforte's is barely changed. <Nightmare> I'd have to go into Chi theory. Which BB can tell you, as it's been implemented into the RP, is a huge f**king mess that takes forever to sort out and fully grasp. <Nightmare> So I'll spare you that. <Bloodbane> lawl indeed <Nightmare> But it would have been explained bit by bit over time through my comic. <Swim> Tried to do the Chi stuff that one time I tried to play with you guys. <Swim> Hard to jump in in the middle. <Nightmare> Yeeeaaah. <Nightmare> Just take my word that it woulda made sense and been cool. <Nightmare> Any other questions about that essay I just shat out? <FDSuprema> WHY IS NEOFORTES HAIR GREEN <Nightmare> Because his daddy's hair was green. <FDSuprema> Oh.

Nightmare explains how the revised story told in the "Nightmare Chronicles" reboot would have fit in with Xero's "Cursed Bloodlines" comic. <Nightmare> I think what I might do is start with something small, just to get the ball rolling, and then we'll see who wants to volunteer from there. <Nightmare> And I'm going to start with this because Xero said something interesting yesterday when we were briefly discussing Amp. <XeroBloodline> I'm wondering what that reminded you of... <Nightmare> Fusion asked how his most canon Fusion iteration would have fit into Xero's comic, if he were to stay 100% true to Fusion's story. Essentially, if Fusion and Xero's stories were written to complement each other like mine and Xero's comics, rather than Fusion being an adapted cameo. <Nightmare> And Xero said that the story had changed so much and moved from the MegaMan universe so he wasn't sure how Fusion, or really Tony, Ultimate Zero, or a lot of other characters would fit into the revised canon. <Nightmare> So what I wanted to talk about was my interpretation of the Cursed Bloodlines events and how they relate to the revised canon for my comic, as would have been told in the reboot of my comic that never got off the ground. <Nightmare> Because that may potentially answer some of those questions... If Xero were to have gone along with this sh*t. * Alriik nods. <XeroBloodline> I remember telling you once that I wasn't as concerned with retcons as I was with progressing the story. <XeroBloodline> So unless you did something totally off the wall I think we'll be okay. <Nightmare> I doubt any of this would have derailed your narrative. <Nightmare> But I'm going to give a very brief overview of my rebooted comic for those who missed the discussion on that the other night. <Nightmare> Basically the setting is seperate but similar to the MegaMan Universe. Futuristic and crap, some robots and cool stuff like that. Bounty Hunting is a big deal in the world and a huge organization called the Hunters' Guild replaces the Maverick Hunters in my story's narrative. Hunters' Guild is a huge organization of global mercenaries and have a main headquarters and 5 main branches. <Nightmare> Now, the Commanders of those five branches were largely cameos from other ZV people. Central City's Commander would have been Edge Densetsu, West City's would have been Jonathan Rhodes, North City was Wesler Donias, East City was Hanna Corona, and South City was Zocktas Lanadel. <Nightmare> With Xerxes Raynor being the head of the Hunters' Guild and residing in the main headquarters. <Nightmare> Anyhow. <Nightmare> Another important detail to share about the reboot is Nightmare's main villain. Now this should come to no surprise to the RP crowd, but that would be a villain called Audacity. If you were here last Sunday, I talked about Nightmare's origins as they would have been told in my original comic, and they involved Audacity. <Nightmare> The thing was the original comic was meant to keep details of Nightmare's past largely in the dark for a long time, and then have a big reveal with a bunch of exposition involving Audacity much later. Which is why we never heard about him in the original comic: We hadn't gotten to him yet. We'd only gotten like a few tiny bits of foreshadowing on Nightmare's backstory. <Nightmare> The reboot was meant to change that and make Nightmare's mystery more compelling and build up to Audacity better by bringing in references to him much earlier and pretty much dripping details about Audacity and Nightmare throughout the story little by little, leading up to a climax. Rather than spill it out all at once near the end. <Nightmare> That being said. <Nightmare> Now we can discuss how this all would have tied into Cursed Bloodlines... <Nightmare> Now I hope this doesn't get confusing because I'm going to be actively comparing and contrasting the rebooted story with the original comics from NMMZ Comics and Cursed Bloodlines. So if any of you get lost or confused, feel free to stop me and ask a question. <XeroBloodline> Keep in mind there will be a few CB retcons to go with this... <XeroBloodline> But most of those pertain to pre CB events. <Nightmare> I planned on, probably after the Aura Stone Arc actually, doing a story arc in the rebooted comic where Nightmare came clean with Neoforte and Spex a bit about who/what he is and what he's been doing. And this, in addition to some backstory exposition, would have included a retelling of the first three Cursed Bloodlines storylines from Nightmare's point of view. <Nightmare> As well as a retelling of the beginning of my comic's prologue from Nightmare's POV. <Nightmare> (Which as you may recall was in Neoforte's POV originally) <Nightmare> In this flashback arc we would have learned about Nightmare fixing up the base that would become his "house", and using the powerful computers there and military equipment to basically spend his days digitally scouring the world for details on Audacity. Googling sh*t, hacking into databases, covering his tracks, looking into people associated with Audacity, etc. And occasionally when he found a lead, he'd go out and investigate. <Nightmare> This arc would have covered an instance where Nightmare ventured off to the western continent to investigate an abandoned lab that he believed used to belong to Audacity or one of his associates. He would have been sneaking in there and poking around, trying to get the computers working, looking through physical and digital files, really trying to make off with anything useful he could find. <Nightmare> While doing that though, he would have heard the grounds get breached by somebody else. <Nightmare> While initially worried it could be a bad guy, he snuck around and tried to find the source of the noise, and instead would have spotted a couple of Hunters. Naturally, considering Nightmare has a bounty on his head (for some reason, story related, not important now) he starts to wonder if he was tailed to this place. <Nightmare> He sneaks a bit closer as the two Hunters seem to for some reason set up camp on the grounds outside one of the buildings, and tries to eavesdrop on them. Something about Nightmare and a huge bounty. Crap, called that one right. WELP. <Nightmare> Nightmare figures it's two against one, better get the drop on them if he wants the advantage. So he leaps out, presumably screaming "BANZAAAAAIIII!" and gets his ass kicked by these two Hunters. <Nightmare> Like a boss. <Nightmare> Turns out these Hunters are none other than Tony, and his red armored friend vaguely based off of Ultimate Zero named Jeff. Cause two elite hunters named Tony and Jeff would have been hilarious. <Tony> You're not wrong. <Nightmare> Tony and Jeff are wondering why some random purple asshole just jumped out of the bushes and tried to kill them, and they've had a long day so they don't wanna put up with this sh*t right now. Tony's CID (basically a smart phone for Hunters) shows that this purple asshole has a hefty bounty on his head. But it's not nearly as high as the Bloody Nightmare's so he wonders if they should bother since their current mark is worth more. <Nightmare> Wait what <Nightmare> So Nightmare gets this straight, they weren't after him, it was some other asshole called Nightmare (ish) with a bounty on his head? <Nightmare> Wow that's a relief, too bad he jumped out and tried to kill them and now is likely to get hauled in. <Nightmare> Tony and Jeff talk it over while keeping Nightmare at swordpoint and agree that this purple asshole isn't worth their time since Xero's bounty is a lot higher, but also reluctantly agree that they can't take Xero even if it's just the two of them. After all, they literally just tried. <Nightmare> Since for anyone remembering the original Cursed Bloodlines comic, this whole thing references and explains that time Tony and Ultimate Zero tried to haul in Renegade, Xero saved him, and then later Tony and Ultimate Zero were standing around like "Wasn't that the Bloody Nightmare." "Yeah." "Huh." "<Nightmare> DIE ASSHOLES!" <Tony> ... <UltZero> ... <Nightmare> Now. <Nightmare> Nightmare, earlier in this flashback arc, would have been lamenting that he needed better equipment to do his internet sleuthing, as well as some pocket change to either hire some help or bribe some Hunters to leave him alone/cover his ass. Plus he pretty much had to walk, hitch-hike, and stow away to travel anywhere. <Nightmare> All of this meant his search for Audacity was being hindered dramatically and taking a long ass time, and if only he had a lot of money it would be way easier... <Nightmare> So Nightmare, hearing Tony and Jeff's dilemma, offers them a proposition. <Nightmare> "I'll help you guys haul in this Bloody Nightmare guy if you give me a cut of the bounty." <Nightmare> The three of them talk it over for a bit, determine that even if they aren't sure they could trust Nightmare they've already proven they can kick his ass, so they ultimately agree. Tony and Jeff get 45% each, Nightmare gets the remaining 10%. If they can pull it off. <Nightmare> Seems like a sh*t deal, but when you consider Xero's bounty was 100 million Zenny, 10 Million Zenny is more than what Nightmare needed so cool, he wasn't exactly in a position to argue anyway. <Nightmare> And thus begins the adventures of Tony, Jeff, and Nightmare. <Tony> The green, the purple, and that guy. <Nightmare> This would have largely involved skimming ahead to the point where the three of them ambush Xero and Renegade as they were nearing Defiant's hideout. The infamous "I stopped time, Xero whooped ass" scene. <Nightmare> I would have made adjustments to this fight though in that Renegade and Nightmare won't have known each other prior (Renegade recognized Nightmare in the original CB comic) and rather than Amp just immediately freezing time and Xero beating us all in one hit while we were frozen, I would have made an actual fight out of it that may have ended with that. <Nightmare> More like "<Xero> Alright damnit we're wasting time, Morgan needs us. Amp, you're up" rather than just freezing and booping us. <Nightmare> The aftermath would have left us all laying around looking like scrubs while Xero, Amp, and Renegade raced on ahead to save Morgan from Defiant. Ultimately that would have been more or less like... <Nightmare> <Tony> That could have gone better... <Jeff> Yeah. Starting to think this was a bad idea. <Nightmare> *heals super fast and is perfectly fine* Aw come on guys, we can't give up yet! 100 million Zenny! <Tony> No thanks, two ass kickings is enough for me. <Nightmare> What. Come on I need that money. If we just... <Jeff> Forget it. We're going home. If I had the strength I'd suggest we drag you back with us. <Nightmare> Pfft. Pansies. <Nightmare> So Nightmare wanders off figuring "Screw those guys, I'll do it myself! Yeah. Then I get all 100 million. Buncha scrubs..." <Nightmare> Anyway, Xero and Renegade are about to confront Defiant, when Nightmare shows up and calls Xero out, acting all cool and demanding Xero rematch him. Renegade tells Xero to go on ahead and deal with Defiant, and that he'll stay behind and deal with this purple chump. <Nightmare> Basically the same as the original Cursed Bloodlines storyline. <Nightmare> Nightmare figures that Renegade will be easy to handle in a 1 on 1, and that'll just make it easier to fight Xero when he's done cause he won't have to worry about any interference. <Nightmare> Now something important to keep in mind is this is the first time Nightmare is meeting any of these people in this revised storyline. And as far as he knows from Tony and Jeff, Xero is just a rogue mercenary that used to work with the Hunters on occasion and became a cold blooded killer with a massive bounty on his head. <Nightmare> So Nightmare doesn't have much of an opinion on Xero personally, and what little he has is pretty negative. <Nightmare> Renegade on the other hand has been traveling with Xero (albeit for a short time) and has gotten to know him. He was saved by Xero, and he knows that Xero's only coming out of isolation so he could save his friend that got kidnapped. Renegade can't really believe the things Tony, Jeff, and Nightmare said about Xero and doubts that they're true. <Nightmare> So these two are on opposite sides of the spectrum. <Nightmare> So the two of them fight. They're pretty evenly matched, but Nightmare knows that there's no way Renegade could beat him because of his healing factor. Even if Renegade wounded him, he would just heal and be fine, and eventually Renegade would wear out and/or make a mistake. <Nightmare> Now the specifics of this fight would have likely been revised due to the nature of Renegade and Nightmare's fighting styles evolving since the old comics, but it would have been functionally the same, save with more dialogue. <Nightmare> Short bursts of action, followed by some banter, leading into another burst of action, and repeat. <Nightmare> Renegade trying to reason why everyone's after Xero and that he's a good guy. Nightmare reasoning that it's nothing personal but he's a criminal and he needs the bounty. Renegade insisting that that stuff couldn't be true. <Nightmare> They go back and forth until the two of them are racing toward each other for the final clash, and Renegade spouts some heroic drivel about how Xero's a good guy who's only here to rescue his friend, and that people like Nightmare who are getting in the way because they want money are assholes and aiding the real villains here. <Nightmare> That resonates with Nightmare a bit, he slips up, the two dash by each other and swing their swords, and Nightmare nearly gets cut in half by Renegade, who wins that samurai showdown. <Nightmare> Now Nightmare is more than just goo in the rebooted comic. He still has blood and organs and all that stuff, and if they get damaged they get damaged realistically and he feels every bit of pain he would have otherwise. So this sucks for him a lot and he collapses to the ground. Renegade, not knowing any better, assumes he has slain the purple beast, and rushes to Xero's aid. <Nightmare> Nightmare lays there while his body regenerates and heals, and ultimately he picks himself up. He knows he could just go after those assholes again, but something about that last fight with Renegade left him with a bad taste in his mouth, and now he's kinda feeling like he's becoming a villain. <Nightmare> So, he reluctantly decides "To hell with it" and makes like Tony and Jeff and decides to go home. On his way out he sees the tall, towering pillars of light from the fight unfolding back where he had come from, and assumes Xero must be rescuing his friend, and figures good for that guy. <Nightmare> Little does he know he was moreso witnessing Cyber killing Defiant and then a few minutes later, Xero. Oh well. <Nightmare> NOW <Nightmare> Nightmare from there would have decided to look into the Bloody Nightmare. Learn a bit more about this Xero Bloodline guy. Figure if he turns out to be a bad guy, then he can feel justified taking him down. If he turns out to be a good guy, could potentially make a powerful ally if he can convince him to be friends after trying to arrest him a couple of times. <Nightmare> He would have floated around the area a bit. At one point running into Renegade. <Nightmare> Now in the original CB comic, Nightmare just jumped out, pointed a gun at Renegade, Renegade was like "What you're still alive?" Nightmare taunts him, then says "Eh I was gonna fight you but I won't get paid for killing you. Whatever. You owe me a rematch though." then wandered off. <Nightmare> In the reboot, it would have been less of an ambush and more like they run into each other and it's more of a "*simultaneously points* YOU!" moment. <Nightmare> Followed by: <Renegade> I thought I killed you! <Nightmare> You thought wrong. <Renegade> What are you doing here!? <Nightmare> Nevermind, what can you tell me about Xero Bloodline? <Renegade> None of your business, asshole! <Nightmare> Fine whatever, I'm not gonna fight you. No money in it if you're here by yourself anyway. <Nightmare> And Nightmare leaves. More or less like the old comic. <Nightmare> Keep in mind Renegade would have been hostile because at this point in the story, Xero's dead, Renegade is upset about it and is in denial that it's even true, and his prior exposure to Nightmare would have been the two of them being at odds. <Nightmare> Nightmare ends up going to that old Audacity base that he ran into Tony and Jeff at and basically squats there for a few days while he does research using the computers there. He learns a bit more about Xero Bloodline and the Bloody Nightmare by hacking some government files and some Hunters' Guild databases. Nightmare's a bit confused because what he's reading isn't exactly in line with what he experienced when he met Xero. <Nightmare> So he's starting to suspect there may be more to this story than previously thought. <Nightmare> And at that point Nightmare packs up and is about ready to be on his way. But shortly after leaving the lab, he runs into an old friend. <Nightmare> Xero Bloodline! <Nightmare> Only it's not Xero Bloodline so much as the Bloody Nightmare. <Nightmare> Which pretty much goes <Nightmare> Oh, hey Xero... Fancy meeting you here. <Xero> Yes. Quite the coincidense indeed. <Nightmare> Nice ominous red glow. Anyway, I got a couple questions I wanted to ask you. <Xero> Wait, didn't you want to capture my bounty? <Nightmare> Well, I mean-- <Xero> Yeah, I remember that. Why don't you try it and see what happens...? <Nightmare> And so Bloody Nightmare Xero forces Nightmare into a fight and beats his ass, just like in the old comic. <Nightmare> Nightmare gets barbecued to a point where any normal dude would be dead. Xero leaves, pleased with himself, and Nightmare eventually heals from his wounds as his body regenerates. <Nightmare> Then it turns out Nightmare was pretty good at that cyber sleuthing thing cause he managed to narrow down Xero's residence, something the Hunters couldn't do for a long time. He contacts Renegade and basically says "Hey so I dunno if you're aware but Xero's not dead but he is making a lot of dead guys." <Nightmare> Now one key difference in this that differs from the original comic... <Nightmare> Well, a couple key differences I guess. <Nightmare> In the original comic, Nightmare makes reference to Neoforte. In the reboot, this all happens before he even meets Neoforte. And in the original comic, Nightmare goes to Xero's house and helps Cyber, Amp, and Renegade formulate plan to stop Xero (that he's not a part of for some reason.) In the reboot, he only calls Xero's house, partially to see if what he fought was a doppleganger or something. <Nightmare> And doesn't really offer any help. Nightmare more or less nopes out of the Cursed Bloodlines story at this point. Once he hears the details from Renegade and Cyber he basically just tells them where Xero was and where he seemed to be headed and wished them luck. <Nightmare> Because Nightmare by this point knew he was in over his head and that he could die if he fought the Bloody Nightmare, and he wasn't ready to die yet. He still had Audacity to worry about. <Nightmare> And so Nightmare basically goes home. He does more research, becomes interested in Neoforte because he's a strong warrior from a strong background who's working for a small time bounty hunting organization outside of the Hunters' Guild. <Nightmare> So he asks for Neoforte specifically, who ends up taking the job to be his muscle, and Nightmare's story unfolds from there, marking the beginning of my comic's storyline. <Nightmare> Whew. That ended up being much more in depth than I thought. <Nightmare> Now it's harder for me to say where Nightmare fits in to later Cursed Bloodline story arcs in relation to my rebooted story, since honestly after the Hunter Invasion Arc my rebooted story has a lot of holes in it. I never finalized a lot of the less important details. <Nightmare> So I can't really comment on Black Crescent in the like. <Nightmare> But at the very least that's how the early Cursed Bloodlines stuff fits into my comics' rebooted narrative. <Nightmare> And this basically recasts all the people who were Maverick Hunters as members of the Hunters' Guild. <Nightmare> This extends to Tony, Ultimate Zero as Jeff, Fusion, and many others. <Nightmare> My comic would have also had the climax of the Bloody Nightmare arc involve Xero attacking North City and destroying the North City Hunters' Guild HQ, rather than the main Maverick Hunter Headquarters like it was in the original comic. <Nightmare> Which would have resulted in the death of Commander Wesler Donias. <Nightmare> Impacting the story in interesting ways down the line. <Nightmare> I didn't really change much from the original CB story, which is why I figured this would all go over well with Xero. <Nightmare> I clarified and gave some context to Tony, "Jeff", and Nightmare's meeting and subsequent alliance. <Nightmare> I expanded the fight between Xero, Renegade, and the three of them. <Nightmare> I also expanded the fight between Nightmare and Renegade, while explaining why Nightmare would be in a position to fight him like that... <Nightmare> ...As well as basically changing the context of the fight's conclusion from Renegade kicking Nightmare's ass, to Nightmare basically letting Renegade win. <Nightmare> Which I did because it makes more sense every bit as much as I did to get back at Renegade for rubbing that fight result in my face for two years straight back in 2004. <Nightmare> >:/ <Nightmare> And also rationalized Nightmare's absence from the remainder of the Bloody Nightmare Arc. <Nightmare> Admittedly 13 year old me was a smidge salty that I got to be part of the planning process for the final battle but was absent from the final arc. At the time, anyway. I remember bringing it up in a subtle way and Xero hitting me with "There would have been nothing for you to do. Besides, we all rode on Amp's back! You wouldn't have fit." or some silly excuse. <Nightmare> But looking back on it, it made sense to focus on the main cast for the conclusion of that big story arc. So I wanted to in the reboots write myself out of that in a somewhat believable way just to keep the continuity. <Nightmare> So yeah. <Nightmare> Dunno if anyone's still paying attention, but feel free to ask any questions you might have. <Sorrum> I have a question. <Nightmare> Shoot. <Sorrum> Why were Tony and Jeff able to kick your ass if Renegade wasn't able to? <Nightmare> I mean, at this point in the story Tony and Jeff on a team could probably kick Renegade's ass too. <Renegade> Top rank hunters vs (according to my backstory) a probably D -> C rank nobody? <Renegade> A-> S Rank hunters should probably beat a shmuck <Nightmare> Ultimate Zero (Jeff) was the only one in Cursed Bloodlines' original comic to actually wound the Bloody Nightmare during his rampage. <Nightmare> So presumably Tony and Jeff don't suck. <Sorrum> And this Tony is our Tony? * Sorrum points at Tony <Sorrum> that one? <Tony> Hi. <Nightmare> Yes. <Nightmare> And to be honest Tony and Jeff might have had a hard time killing Nightmare if they needed to kill him. Regenerating and healing and all. <Nightmare> But slap around and capture? They could totally handle that. <Sorrum> It sounds too annoying to capture you. <Sorrum> They'd be better off offing you. <Sorrum> >:C <Nightmare> So they might think. <Nightmare> If I wanted to I could have maybe killed them while they were weakened from getting beat up by Xero. <Nightmare> They were weakened and Nightmare was better in minutes. <Nightmare> But that's not his style. He had nothing against Tony or Jeff.

Fusion explains "Sonic Shory", a incarnation of his character Shory Ureppa that was featured in the "Dragon Ball ZV" roleplay.<Fusion> So, first I have to be clear. Sonic Shory was originally made as a character design for a sonic forum since I wanted to feel like one of the cool kids who had a neat Sonic OC. He was straight up black furred early on, which changed to a the blue that he's known for (or that I ended up unintentionally causing problems with down the line for characters like Inari and Hanna Corona) after I started experimenting with different colors for that fur. <Nightmare> So would you say he's got black fur and it's just shaded blue, as is the case with Inari and Corona? Or that it's literally that dark blue color? <Fusion> It's that dark blue color now, officially. <Nightmare> Gotcha. Was thinking that might be the case, but The End's looks more straight black, so was wondering if there was an actual coloration difference or if it was an artistic call do differentiate them. <Nightmare> One more question, is this the first instance of Shory's existence? Or had you used other variants of Shory prior...? <Fusion> This is the first Shory ever. The first and technically only one outside of his appearance in ZVRP. <Nightmare> I see. <Fusion> As a character he's a bit aloof and... Well basically if there's one thing that's survived through time, it's his personality, I can reliably say that FFZV Shory nowadays is pretty close to how original Shory would act, given different circumstances. <Fusion> Granted different prejudices against the concept of purple-colored people. <Nightmare> XD <Fusion> So, onto his story. This Shory never had a traumatic thing happen to him in his past like FFZV Shory had. Unless you count boredom with everyday life a traumatic thing. <Fusion> His story really picks up with an unheard of friend, Rez. The two were good pals, with Rez trying to drag Shory to every social thing ever and being absolutely baffled at how Shory never seems to generate an iota of interest from anyone most of the time. It's not that Shory was a naturally unattractive person, it's just... Mysterious. <Nightmare> So Shory's a loner and his friend wants him to come out of his shell? <Fusion> Yeah, don't expect that to last for too long... <Fusion> Anyway, so the two head back to one of their favorite hangout spots. A library room in some abandoned building, usually where they sit and talk before they split ways for the remainder of the day. <Fusion> Except this time, Shory notices something weird in one of the shelves. Something that wasn't there before in any of the times they'd visited this room previous. <Fusion> You might've guessed it: It's a Gauntlet. A shining white piece of... Tech? That's just Shory's size. So Shory puts it on and suddenly he starts hearing someone else talk to him. <Fusion> Rez kinda drops off as a character as the Gauntlet pretty much begins to tell Shory that with taking the Gauntlet, he's accepted a unique mission that normally isn't offered to mortals. <Fusion> Check up on every single reality in all of the multiverse and make sure it isn't, y'know, falling apart. <Fusion> So, following that, Shory tries to show some of this stuff to Rez and Rez is basically all "You know what. You do you, this is crazy" <Fusion> But back on story, Shory opens his first reality rift into another world... Which his first trip was to essentially a mirror universe to the Sonic universe. <Fusion> Now, one of the things that Shory could never run into would be alternates of himself. By accepting the Gauntlet, he became the only Shory to ever exist in any multiverse. <Nightmare> Damn. <Nightmare> So like. <Nightmare> Taking that Gauntlet killed all Shorys? <Tony> All but one. <Fusion> Annorax'd all the other ones. ...Ztrl will get it. <Nightmare> lawl <Nightmare> Damn, that makes him noncanon and not an alternate universe of FFZV Shory. <Fusion> I have more respect for FFZV Shory as a character... <Nightmare> So Shory accepts the Gauntlet. <Nightmare> Axes all other Shorys. <Fusion> Goes on a bunch of wacky adventures, yes. <Renegade> Sounds like an infinite sort of adventures kind of story. <Fusion> Yeah, well can't run an infinite set of adventures without needing some sort of overarching plot. <Fusion> So over time, something starts gnawing at Shory's psyche. Then, he's summoned to meet the people the Gauntlet told him about. His employers, so to speak... <Fusion> The Makers. They've summoned Shory to warn him about a great evil they'd had sealed away ages ago and how it might try to get at him. It's done so with the others... Yes, turns out there are others who also have special Maker tools. The so-called "Children of the Makers" in fact. <Fusion> ...Who aren't really relevant to Shory's story, just that Shory isn't doing his job alone. ...Actually, one of them is pretty much just like Davis in FFZV. <Fusion> So from this point on, Shory sometimes has his vision obscured by total blackness, with something looking him in the eye and egging on what makes him weak as a person. You can't help them, you won't be able to save them, your friends will die, you'll end up destroying a reality with your negligent behavior, etc... <Nightmare> Wow. <Nightmare> Rude. <Tony> What an asshole. <Fusion> Yep. Preying on emotional weakness like that... <Fusion> Anyway, it doesn't build up how you think it would, because a nice peaceful trip ends up ruined by something else appearing. <Fusion> This something else... Looks like Shory. * Tony gasps <Tony> Nega-Shory! <Nightmare> I remember that guy. <Nightmare> He's a dick. <Fusion> Yeah. This other Shory seems to just radiate chaos and instability. Turns around... Part of his face is missing with a skull partially visible. His fur is faded and in disarray, and in the place of what would be either an empty eye-socket or an exposed eye, is instead a bright red glow. Also wears a Gauntlet on the same arm as Shory, only it's mutated. <Fusion> It introduces itself as "THE END". <Fusion> ...That's the original spelling by the way. All caps. <Nightmare> Spooky. <Renegade> I remember that guy I think. <Nightmare> i.imgur.com/dtYrYfR.png<Nightmare> i.imgur.com/rLVIhO4.png<Nightmare> As seen in the 2010 Carnival. <Nightmare> Whose theme was Shattered Reality, with rifts and stuff. They were fitting NPCs. <Renegade> I remember those guys <Fusion> Yeah, neither Shory nor the Gauntlet know what to do with the guy. All the evil thing says when it looks at Shory is "It's not time yet..." and vanishes. <Nightmare> Well that's cryptic and again, rude. <Fusion> So one trip back to the Makers later, and then we learn that The End is at the very least something that shouldn't exist. <Fusion> They're not quite sure if it's another Shory. The Makers, the beings that created everything... Aren't sure what The End is. <Tony> That's... not a good. <Fusion> Indeed, Tony. It is a bad. A very bad. <Fusion> All this while, that nagging thing in Shory's head is still beating at him, trying to wear him down. It goes from suggestions, to throwing images of failure at him. <Nightmare> The rudeness never stops. <Fusion> But while Shory's going on his adventures as normal, also trying to hunt down this 'The End' fellow, The End is actually busy killing off every other Gauntlet wielder and taking their Gauntlets' power. <Nightmare> Gonna need a stronger word than rude at this point. <Nightmare> Dastardly? Assholish? <XeroBloodline> Diabolical. <Nightmare> Diabolical is good. <Fusion> Shory finally catches up to The End, and it's basically DEFCON 0.1 as The End is fully prepared to enact his namesake. It's only at this point that The End introduces himself, too. "I am... The end of all things. And I know you, Shory..." <Fusion> It comes down to a battle between the two, which abruptly stops as The End starts cackling: Their battle has been achieving what The End wanted. The destruction of reality itself... And with the power The End has gathered, the damage is essentially fatal. Everything that exists is going to cease. <Nightmare> Dammit Shory. <Tony> Way to break it, hero! <Fusion> Well, it is bad until someone else jumps in to the fight. Another Shory. <Renegade> Gotta keep that other other Shory in your pocket just in case. <Fusion> Pocket Shorys are always good to have. <Fusion> Anyway, this other Shory has a similar wound to The End, only this one appears to have fully healed leaving just a slightly faded patch of fur there (as if it hadn't finished regrowing just yet). This second Shory's Gauntlet has also mutated in a somewhat similar fashion to The End, only it's been more of an organic growth rather than the chaotic one. <Fusion> This other Shory says nothing but starts fighting with The End. All Shory gets is an impression of essentially "You should fix the damage to reality while I kick this asshole's ass". <Nightmare> Yay Shory teamwork. <Fusion> ...So this other Shory ends up destroying the very essence of The End's existence. ...But it's not completely over yet, there's still the epilogue. <Fusion> Shory starts to try to talk to this other him. Other Shory doesn't respond, just points his arm at Shory, opens his hand and suddenly dumps a lot of images onto Shory's mind all at once, and then opens up a really weird-looking rift, flies through it... And is never heard from again. <Fusion> But what had happened was: However many realities ago... A Shory succumbed to the fear that an extradimensional evil that was only ever known as "The End", a being that was banished from regular existence by the Makers. As a result, this Shory lost his entire being to The End, said being's influence corrupted the Gauntlet and mutated it to the form that you see in one of the images that Purple posted above. <Nightmare> Ah, so The End isn't just a fancy name alternate Shory gave himself when he became corrupted, The End was a seperate entity that corrupted alternate Shory. <Fusion> The first time it happened, there was no reality destruction. The End simply created a time rift and traveled deep into the past. Then waited out his time until Shory was taken over by The End... Then the real The End would show up and steal the recently taken over Shory's power. <Fusion> Then with the equivalent of two Shorys he would then chase down all of the other Gauntlet wielders, murder them and take their power, and then start a chain reaction that ends all of existence. <Fusion> ...And then he would open up a time rift and go back to the past to do it all again. <Fusion> So yeah, rude on a cosmic scale. <Nightmare> For real. <Nightmare> So he's been accumulating power by just reliving the same act of dickbaggery over and over again, multiplying the rudeness several times over? <Sorrum> I thought that when Shory got the gauntlet it erased the other Shorys from their realities and made him the sole Shory? <Sorrum> I'm confused how there can be 3 of them at the final battle. <Rick> timelines and sh*t <Fusion> @purple: Yes, and having fun with it each time. <Nightmare> Rude dude with a rude 'tude. <Fusion> Sorrum: Only two, actually. The End only had a Shory's body, not mind or memories. <Sorrum> But then how did it torment the other Shory if it didn't know those things? <Fusion> The End's original form is what was harassing Shory. It didn't really need to know anything, it just needed someone who would let the Gauntlet's power falter. ...Never got into the dynamics of it, this was before I started trying to make everything make sense to myself before writing any of it. <Sorrum> oh <Sorrum> makes sense <Fusion> "Hey, this dork is really worried about his friends, let's tell him they're all gonna die and it'll be his fault! " <Tony> So rude! <Tony> Just... the rudest dude. <Fusion> As for the other Shory showing up in a fight... That one I nickname Paradox Shory. <Fusion> But after that, and also a light amount of surprise exorcism from the Makers because it turned out the Paradox also jammed the souls of the defeated Gauntlet wielders into him... The wielders are restored, existence repaired fully, and Shory continues his adventures. But that's where his story ends. <Fusion> And also, that is the end of what I have for Shory. <Tony> The End is the rudest dude to ever rude. <Sorrum> He did it for the lulz. <Renegade> He did it to be rude. <Nightmare> That's some serious rudeness. <Nightmare> Gotta say. <Nightmare> I don't think I have any questions I guess. <Nightmare> I asked most of mine during the story. <Tony> Uhhh... <Tony> Uhhh... <Tony> Fusion! <Tony> What's with the face? <Nightmare> ...That's a good one. <Nightmare> Why was The End and alt Shory's faces half eaten? <Fusion> For The End, I never got into any specific reason so I'd assume it was from an attempt to take him down, though artistically it'd be an illustration that this is just Shory's body and not actually an evil Shory. <Fusion> As for Paradox Shory... Never thought about that one. <Nightmare> Forever a mystery it shall remain.

Vic explains the second act of Alriik's Argent Adventures, covering Seras, the demon hunter and his feud with a deadly being known as "The Horseman." <Alriik> LAST TIME ON THE ALRIIK'S ARGENT ADVENTURES: The Altiim, a race of elves, prayed to their goddess for power, which came in the form of a silver lake, which took the live of many, and left the survivors with great power. Alriik, the helf-elf heir to the Altiim throne, was bathed in the waters on order of his mother, in attempt to move him off of the board for her younger, fully elven son. <Alriik> However, Alriik lived, and inherited the great powers of the lake. Understanding his mother's betrayal, he disappeared into the night, in search of his father. <Alriik> THIS TIME ON ALRIIK'S ARGENT ADVENTURES: Seras was a hard man. Born of strife, his first act was living through a gunshot that took his mother's life. Pulled from his mother' corpse, he got through life being a hard man, and being an honet man. He spent his younger years a soldier, but it was not his calling. He learned this when his platoon was slaughtered by a single being: The Horseman, <Alriik> the one who carried the spirits of the damned to their eventual resting place. The Demon of Death. <Nightmare> Damn. <Nightmare> Horseman is the next rude dude to carry the torch of the rude 'tude. <Tony> What's with all these dudes that happen to be very rude? <Sorrum> thats what you get for being hard and honest: everybody dies <Nightmare> Yup. <Alriik> His true name Xaphan, his name forgotten by the humans after years of referring to his method of arriving and transporting the souls he collected. However, he became disenfranchised with his post, and tired of his very existance being tied to beings so inferior. So he struck out, against his position, against Hell, against Heaven, and especially, against the humans he was so tied to. <XeroBloodline> So Davey Jones on a horse. <Nightmare> Goes without saying but: Hella rude. <Alriik> Yes, and yes. <Alriik> Horseman's a bad dude. And does not give a f**k at this point in the story. <Alriik> He's just tired of it all, and is lashing out the only way he knows how. <Alriik> Hella murder. <Alriik> Seras saw his life flash before his eyes. The Horseman gave Seras some words of respect. Then reached for the man's throat, attempting to tear it out. At the last second, the Horseman was gripped by those superior to him below, and dragged him back to the depths. Seras knew devastation unlike anything he had ever seen. He refused to let something like this happen again. He returned to his station, told his story, and promptly left the army, to learn the obscure art... of the demon hunter. <Alriik> His journey to learn about demons, studying their ways and how to slay them, took him to many different lands. He had many journeys, but the most important one was when he befriended Arnii, the young king of Altiim, and his sister, Axala. After slaying a minor demon theme, Daxon, Demon of Welts, Anrii stated Seras was a hero, and requested he stay for a time, to teach the Altiim how to protect themselves from demons. And they became close. But Seras grew even closer to Axala. <Alriik> Her mysterious beauty, her intelligence, and her inner fire drew Seras to her. She was strong, but often silent, but Seras saw all of the most important things in a woman in her: strength, discipline, ambition. Seras stayed in Altiim for three months at Arnii's behalf, and by the end of the second, Seras and Axala were smitten with one another. Their tryst would not last long, as Seras caught wind of a sighting of the Horseman... And appreciation, love, these were great things. But he had gotten this job for a reason. <XeroBloodline> To kill him a Horseman. <Alriik> He left in the middle of the night. Axala would never see him again. And for many years, he did not learn of the life he left within her. What he did learn, is within a year, Arnii had died of poisoning, in his court, with no heir to be left. Whispers abounded about who slew the beloved king: One of his male lovers, scorned prehaps. Or prehaps it was a rival elven king. The quietest whispers claimed Axala was to blame. He mourned the loss of his friend, but his existence had one purpose. <Nightmare> To kill that guy. <Alriik> He would follow claims of the Horseman for years. He would hound the vindictive demon whenever he struck. Most times, he would be too late, or the claims would be false, but on the odd times he did see the demon, he would meet blades with him, Seras becoming stronger, and learning how to deal with the demons. But battling against such a powerful force, for so many years, left a toll on Seras. <Alriik> The Horseman would take his eye. Leave the man covered in scars. But Seras still hounded him. And refused to fall. <Alriik> It took Alriik time to meet this man. He met the wandering warrior, Danshiro, and travelled with him for a time, improving his skills with the sword master. He also spent time to learn how to control his powers, his short ranged elemental manipulation, to focus elemental energies into his strikes, and shifting the elements near enemies to get an upper hand in battle. <Alriik> If an enemy locked blades with him, he would shake the ground under their feet to stagger them. If the enemy smoked a cigarette, he would cause it to explode in a ball of fire in their faces. And he could conjure ice, fire, and electricity near him, affect plant life in ways beneficial to him within a small distance. But eventually, he parted with Danshiro, and continued his hunt for his bloodline... <Alriik> Which bore fruit in time. Alriik came across the town of Delanie, a place he had heard was gather spot for demon hunters, one of the few places one could learn of the craft. When Alriik found it, however, it was in ruins, the town covered in flames, corpses, and locusts. In the center of it was Seras... Being held aloft by his neck by the Horseman. <Alriik> .... I think that's a good place to wrap it for now. <Tony> RIP that guy. <Nightmare> Dammit Vic. <Silver> boners <Nightmare> Well I'm enjoying the Saga of Elf Boy and Demon Puncher. <Alriik> Next time: We find out what Horseman's deal is, and see how long this reunion between father and son lasts. <FDSuprema> Seems pretty neat, Vic. <Nightmare> I don't know if I have any questions though cause you covered everything in a lot of detail. <Alriik> Dude, I've been Alriik for, like, 10 years. I've been thinking this character up for about that long. xD <Alriik> And, if this story telling night keeps going on, hopefully one day I can tell you how Alriik's story ends. <Nightmare> In the same boat as the rest of us then.

Ed explains how he originally came up with the rough concept of Supremus Kazega as a character. <FDSuprema> WE TURN BACK THE CLOCK to like 2006 or 2007. Can't remember exactly, maybe even earlier. I discovered the world of RPing on the interwebz. Specificially the RP boards on the Zelda Universe forums. So I decided to come up with this character to represent me in the world of ZELDA. He would have green hair(Cause it's fudgeing me), and wind powers because to explain the hair I decided he would <FDSuprema> have been given powers by Farore. <FDSuprema> Fun fact: Never actually RP'd with those guys even though that's what inspired me to create the character. <FDSuprema> And I gave him the name Supremus cause I didn't want him to have my exact username, cause I thought it was tacky. <FDSuprema> Granted, back then I was adamant that his name should be pronounced "SooPrayMuss". <FDSuprema> Goes to show young me had terrible taste in things in general. <FDSuprema> Either way, he was an edgelord who also wore a black tunic, and was more or less a Link ripoff, except no shield, had a teal sword, and again, wind powers. <FDSuprema> It was after that I started RPing with him on Myspace in a Zelda RP group. There was basically no character development during that time, and eventually it died off and nothing really happened. It was around that time that I discovered RPG Maker, and started really crafting some semblance of a backstory. <FDSuprema> Specifically, Supremus was given the surname Dokyo, cause I'd read in a japanese translation book that it supposedly meant courage, to match with the whole Farore thing. He was a normal brown haired kid, til his dad got murderlized by a Stalfos, which made him awaken his powers and go SUPER SAIYAN GREEN, and murdered those damn boneheads back. After that he'd go on an adventure and help save the world. Not a whole lot really got done after that point. <XeroBloodline> Yay SSJ Green and saving the world. <Tony> And thus was born Supreme Dorko... <Bloodbane> XD <Nightmare> Supreme Dorko for Smash. <Alriik> SUPREME DORKO, DEFENDER OF THE BASEMENT. <FDSuprema> Quite. <FDSuprema> It was around that time that I started to redesign him outside of Zelda RP shenanigans, but I can probably save that for another time. <Nightmare> You can keep going if you want. <FDSuprema> I did say I'd talk about Supremus' earliest iteration, which that's really all there is to say about.

Xero explains how the "Razorblade" story arc in his "Cursed Bloodlines" comic would have ended, had it continued to completion, as well as the beginning of the next story arc, "The Heritage Foundation".<XeroBloodline> So, very quickly, Razorblade recap. <XeroBloodline> Cyber's chilling in the bar, gets a call that they've received an annonymous data packet which only Cyber can open, and it's all a bunch of data from Cyber's past, mainly the 2-man black ops team he was in, Razorblade. <XeroBloodline> Included are instructions for a meeting on Bolaris, where Cyber served in their military. He goes alone, runs into his old partner Razor. <XeroBloodline> Razor and Cyber (who was codenamed Blade) are identical clones. Bolaris experimented on Cyber because he was super badass and wanted another one just like him, so they cloned him and made the two clones fight stuff. They both wore masks and received their orders from separate handouts so they never knew they were clones of each other. <XeroBloodline> Until sh*t happened, they had to unmask, figured out they were the same person, omg wtf. <XeroBloodline> They handled it differently, Cyber was pretty much "k, cool, I got another brother." Where Razor was like "how dare they, f**k this sh*t everybody dies." <XeroBloodline> Razor tries to blow up the ship they're on, Cyber escapes, Razor presumably dies. <XeroBloodline> Razor doesn't die because reasons, fast forward to now where Razor and Cyber are in an old abandoned military base on Bolaris. <XeroBloodline> They have words, Razor gets in a cheap shot, they prepare to fight. <XeroBloodline> Everybody caught up? <Tony> Yup. <Nightmare> Yes. <XeroBloodline> Okay, this is one of the few fights I still have planned out blow for blow. I can give you the results of the fight, or I can tell you all about it. <Nightmare> In between. <Nightmare> Skim it hitting all the high points. <XeroBloodline> Fair enough. <XeroBloodline> Cyber goes in and instead of cheap shotting Razor like he expects, goes full frontal assault, Razor takes a beating but counters with his own beatdown. <XeroBloodline> Cyber pulls back for a Super Throw Cannon, Razor splits it in half with a Piercer Force Punch, Cyber decides to meet it with a Piercer Force Kick, they clash and deflect off each other, it's sword time now! =D <XeroBloodline> Cyber pulls out Kirukaze, which is a manifestation of his own power in physical form. Razor can do this too, but instead it's a massive five-fingered claw on his right hand. Cause Razor used Wolverine-type claws before. Hence the name Razor. <XeroBloodline> They clash weapons for a while in grand fashion, Cyber's got the advantage in straight up technique and precision, but Razor is relentless and typically overpowering Cyber. <XeroBloodline> Finally Cyber gets in a few good cuts and Razor's feeling it, so he throws out a Throw Cannon of his own to push Cyber back, charges his claws with energy, then throws it forward where all five blades burst out as energy beams twisting around all headed for Cyber. <XeroBloodline> This is actually Lancer, a move listed in Cyber's moveset on that little document in the dropbox. <Nightmare> And his BattleBob `special <XeroBloodline> Cyber doesn't know the move at this point, Razor is actually the first person to use it in canon. <XeroBloodline> Cyber manages to deflect a few of the beams but gets hit by at least two of them, and Kirukaze is thrown away when the 2nd one hits him. <XeroBloodline> Razor can't reform his claw quite yet, so he begins mad dashing towards Cyber just to beat the sh*t out of him. <XeroBloodline> What Razor doesn't realize is Kirukaze wasn't thrown away. It was thrown up. Straight up. And charged with energy. <Nightmare> Ohhhh...! <Renegade> <XeroBloodline> When Razor dashes in, Cyber dodges, let's a Shining Bomber fall right on him, Razor is wasted. <XeroBloodline> By this time the Bolaris Military has figured out something is going on, so a small team is on their way to investigate. <XeroBloodline> With his dying breath, Razor congratulates Cyber on being the "real one" and tells him to get out of there, but not before surrendering whatever is left of his power. So Cyber absorbs Razor's life energy, Cyber is now a whole being once again, and gets the hell out of dodge. <XeroBloodline> As far as Cyber goes, he now can perform Lancer, and his geyser attack is green now instead of blue, giving him his old Emerald Geyser from when he wore the Heart Armor. <XeroBloodline> Not to mention overall he's stronger. <XeroBloodline> So, Cyber makes it home, Xero pretty much asks him if everything's okay, Cyber says "Yup." And that's about the most conversation they have on the issue for a long time. <XeroBloodline> End of Razorblade. * Nightmare claps. <Nightmare> Yaaaay. <Renegade> Man that was REALLY close to being done. <XeroBloodline> It really was. Told you I had that whole fight planned out from the beginning. <XeroBloodline> Any questions? <Nightmare> I have two. <Nightmare> 1. Did you ever sprite Razor's new weapon? <XeroBloodline> 1. No, but in my head it was something akin to Gen-an's weapon from Samurai Shodown. <FDSuprema> I never realized that they were halves of the same being rather than clones. <XeroBloodline> That would have been covered in more detail in the actual comic, Ed. So it's understandable. <Nightmare> I guess that clarification kind of answers my second question (maybe.) <Nightmare> I also didn't realize they were two halves of the same guy, thought Razor was just a clone. <Nightmare> Was gonna ask what Razor's motivation for fighting Cyber was. But I assume it would be to claim the throne of the original. <XeroBloodline> Yeah, when Bolaris created Razor, they couldn't just clone Cyber, they had to take some of his MacGuffin force, whatever you wanna call it. <XeroBloodline> So up until the very end of that fight, Razor thought he was the original and Cyber was the copy. And deep down, even Cyber wasn't 100% sure. <Renegade> Damned militaries, sucking your life force and making clones of ya. <Nightmare> I see. <Nightmare> Neat. <XeroBloodline> In the comic, I was gonna keep it intentionally vague too. Like, even after the comic was over you still wouldn't know without a shadow of a doubt which one was the original. <FDSuprema> Fair enough, I suppose. <XeroBloodline> So, just to keep "power levels are bullshit" in your head going, Cyber is now a whole being, and Xero is slowly trying to master his Bloody Nightmare powers. So which one's stronger? Who knows... <XeroBloodline> Okay, if you guys are still game, we're gonna move on to the Hertiage arc. <FDSuprema> Sure. <Renegade> Of course <Nightmare> <XeroBloodline> Okay, so. <XeroBloodline> A few months (maybe a year not sure) passes and life goes on for the Brothers, Amp, and Renegade in the Roadhouse. <XeroBloodline> Xero plays guitar, Cyber drinks in the bar, Amp locks himself in his basement room for weeks on end working on something... <XeroBloodline> ...actually a pair of somethings, but we'll get to that. <XeroBloodline> And Rene...I have no idea what Rene's doing. Stuff and things. * Renegade shrugs <XeroBloodline> Anyway, out of nowhere there's a knock at the door. <XeroBloodline> Let that sink in for a second. Xero lives on an island a few hundred miles off the coast. <XeroBloodline> The girls, remember them? Rei and Nei? They let Xero know that there's someone on the eastern platform knocking at the door. So, if for no other reason than "how the hell did you get here," Xero goes down to answer the door. <XeroBloodline> When he gets there, he sees a rather slender man with black spikey hair in a fairly nice suit, and introduces himself as Cheetix. <XeroBloodline> He asks to speak to Mr. Bloodline, Xero says "speaking." And Cheetix has a confused look on his face. He then figures out that he's talking to Xero, and was actually looking for Cyber. <XeroBloodline> But seems oddly suprised, downright happy, that Xero's here too. <XeroBloodline> Short version, Cheetix is from a group called the Heritage Foundation. They're a private military group just getting started, and recently heard rumors that the fabled Cyber Bloodline had returned to the other side of the galaxy. <XeroBloodline> Now, I guess I need to take a second to explain this part, cause this is relevant to literally the rest of Cursed Bloodlines. <XeroBloodline> Cyber, Xero and company live on Earth. Earth exists literally on the other side of the galaxy from just about all these other groups I will mention in the future, and by all of these groups Earth is pretty much considered neutral, out of bounds, off limits. Nobody messes with Earth, you just kinda stay away from it. <XeroBloodline> The only way to reach Earth is through a wormhole near Earth's Sun which will forever be referred to as The Bolaris Shortcut. Because the other end of the wormhole comes out right in the middle of the Bolaris system. <XeroBloodline> There are ships that regularly travel this shortcut, but it's all commercial, trade, and passenger ships. No military. <XeroBloodline> Thus how Cyber was able to get there, and one of the big reasons why the Bolaris Military didn't chase Cyber back through it when he left. Both times, actually... <XeroBloodline> Anyway, now that that's covered... <XeroBloodline> First off, Xero is incredibly suspicious of how this Cheetix guy could know about Cyber going back to Bolaris considering he was only there for a few hours, and that was several months ago. Cheetix also divulges that he thought Xero was dead, as the Heritage Foundation had heard rumors that "the Bloody Nightmare issue had been dealt with." <XeroBloodline> This of course raises even more suspicions, cause this Cheetix guy knows a little bit more than he should. <XeroBloodline> Anyway, the point of his trip was to ask for Cyber's help. Cyber is a renowned warrior, and since the Heritage PMCs are just starting out, they want a worthy opponent to test their troops on. And since Xero's alive too, that's even better. Two for the price of one. <XeroBloodline> Annoyed by how persistant this guy is, Xero tells him no without even consulting Cyber, and kindly asks him to leave. Cheetix then tells him it wasn't a request, then dashes in and sucker punches the hell out of Xero. <Nightmare> Wow. <Nightmare> Torch is passed. <Nightmare> Rude dude with a 'tude to match. <Renegade> ^^^ <Alriik> So many rude dudes tonight. <XeroBloodline> Cheetix then rips off his suit to show a shiny orange n' black exoskelton, and proceeds to fight Xero. He's literally running circles around Xero, clearly faster than he is, but really isn't hitting that hard and isn't hurting Xero that much. Xero finally gets in a few good shots and knocks him away... <XeroBloodline> But before Cheetix can recover Cyber comes out of nowhere and cuts him in half with Kirukaze. Yes. In half. Clean in half. <Sorrum> Overkill <XeroBloodline> This is where we discover Cheetix was actually a machine, an android of sorts. <Nightmare> Jeez. <Nightmare> Still rude. <Sorrum> rudebot <XeroBloodline> Still talking even though he's cut in half, he explains that he was actually "spec'd out" to fight Cyber, and wasn't fully prepared to fight Xero, or both of them. He mutters something about being better prepared next time, when Cyber's tired of listening and blasts him in the head blowing up whatever was left of him. <XeroBloodline> So, Cyber and Xero go back inside, and the two of them work with the girls to start scanning the net for any info on this Heritage Foundation. <XeroBloodline> All they pretty much do is confirm Cheetix's story, they're a PMC that's privatley funded, but rumors abound that it's being funded by the Alliance (the biggest government on the other side of the galaxy). They're controlled by a mysterious "Heritage Council" and the military part is headed up by five commanding officers. <XeroBloodline> You just met one of them, Cheetix. <XeroBloodline> By now Rene's popped his head in, and is brought up to speed. Whatever the hell he was off doing... <XeroBloodline> So naturally, they expect the Heritage to come after them again, so Rene and Cyber start talking plans to fortify the Roadhouse defenses. But uncharacteristically, Xero's all "yeah no. I got a better idea." <Renegade> Me and Cyber do the eyebrow thing don't we? <XeroBloodline> Yes. You do. <Nightmare> XD <XeroBloodline> He calls down to Amp's room, asks him if "it" is ready yet, Amp says "sure, c'mon down." So the three of them head down to Amp's basement. <XeroBloodline> When they get down there, Amp's in a back room, yells to Xero to go ahead and show "it" off. <XeroBloodline> "It" is a ship. Amp has been building them a space ship in the basement since pretty much the end of Black Crescent. <XeroBloodline> Amp finally walks out of the back room talking about the new ship, when Rene and Cyber turn around and notice something startling. <XeroBloodline> Amp isn't a dog anymore. He's a reploid. <XeroBloodline> He's finished the Heart Armor that Cyber use to wear, and has fashioned it into his new body. <XeroBloodline> So, we have Amp in a new body, a shiny new ship to test out (which has a name wink wink), and a new bad guy that wants to kick our asses. <XeroBloodline> And Xero's pretty much "I've been cooped up in this house long enough. Let's go on another adventure." <Cyber & Rene> SQUEEEEE!!!! <XeroBloodline> So that's the basis of the Heritage Arc. Xero, Cyber, Rene, and a new shiny Amp head off towards the other side of the galaxy to track down a PMC that wants to fight them. <XeroBloodline> Of course, they don't wanna just fight them, but we'll get to that... <XeroBloodline> Now between Razorblade and the intro, I feel like I've covered alot. Any questions at this point? <Nightmare> I was gonna ask what the ship's name was if that's fair to mention at this point. <XeroBloodline> The ship is called the Fair Morgan. <Nightmare> Ahhh, okay. <Renegade> So I forget. Are the bloodlines loaded via money? * XeroBloodline grins. <XeroBloodline> Yes. Xero is actually. <XeroBloodline> There's a very specific reason why, but it's a tad spoilerish. I was gonna tell you later but it's not like a crucial plot point or nothing. <XeroBloodline> So I can explain it now if you guys wanna know. <Renegade> I want you to continue doing comic stuff so yes <Nightmare> How much later? Cause if you can explain it soon-ish then I can wait but if it's awhile out then I wanna know. <XeroBloodline> The explination would be much later, so I'll go ahead and tell you now. <Nightmare> Sure. <XeroBloodline> Remember in Renegade's story the other day, how they went to a pizza place called Bloody Good Pizza? <Renegade> <Renegade> It's Bloody Good Pizza dude! <XeroBloodline> Yeah. Xero secretly owns that. <Nightmare> Oh sh*t. <Nightmare> XD <Renegade> Well <Renegade> That makes sense. <XeroBloodline> He took all his money from his mercenary days and invested it in the pizza chain in its infancy. <XeroBloodline> And nobody knows he actually owns it, so he just rakes in the cash secretly. <XeroBloodline> The whole joke about Xero always having money and not knowing where it came from would have gone on til at least the arc after Heritage. <Nightmare> That brings me to another question, not necessarily about this arc, but the story overall... <XeroBloodline> Okay, go ahead. <Nightmare> Did Xero build his house? Or was he like Nightmare and found it and spruced it up like home? <XeroBloodline> Little of column A, little of column B. <XeroBloodline> The offshore facility was there, but all the basement stuff and Amp's room was built much, much later. <Nightmare> Gotcha. <XeroBloodline> It's also still a running gag that nobody knows how big the basement actually is. <XeroBloodline> Which is a covienent plot device that lets me make more rooms as I need them. <Nightmare> XD <Renegade> Okay so side side question. <Renegade> Since I used it in my comic story with the Pizza place. Do people now know where the house is since teleporting supplies was a thing? Or is it mostly a under the table sort of deal with warehouses and the like? <Renegade> Or is it under some other name that the old building was originally? Or is it all technically not canon? <XeroBloodline> No, the supplies are handled by Amp anonymously through a third party. <XeroBloodline> Sometimes by the girls. <XeroBloodline> There's actually several different drop points setup all over the world, and nobody knows where they go from there. <Renegade> Okay, makes sense. <XeroBloodline> So the Roadhouse is still fairly off the grid. <Renegade> That's all I got.

Silver explains how she came up with Silver as a character, also sharing story details about Silver and how Enfurnus, Celestrus, and Arliam played roles in her story.<Silver> i don't know how to start <Silver> halp <Renegade> Title of story? <Renegade> Main character? <Nightmare> What do you wanna talk about exactly? <Nightmare> Silver? <Silver> silver for now <Silver> mebe other dudes if you guys care after lol <Nightmare> Okay. <Nightmare> Well. <Nightmare> Maybe talk about how you came up with her for starters? <Nightmare> And then go into her story a bit? <Silver> okay lol <Silver> i guess i never talked about her much <Nightmare> It's hard to nail down details on her since she's changed a lot even through the course of the RPs I've seen her in. <Silver> yes from mary sue to something that makes sense <Nightmare> I'd say more like damsel in distress to edgelord to something that makes sense. <Silver> spoiler that's like me irl <Silver> anyhow <Silver> basically she started off by accident, on the dumb forum rp we had going on a bajillion years ago, i just kinda rolled with it and decided to just be a dragon because well i was obsessed with them but also wanted a human forum cus i was young and dumb and wanted the romance <Nightmare> You mean in Netzuko's RP thread on ZV? <Nightmare> Or another RP board elsewhere? <Silver> ye lol <Nightmare> Ah. <Nightmare> Didn't realize ZV gave birth to her. <Nightmare> That's cool. <Silver> it indeed did lol <Silver> my longest standing and fave rp character lol <Silver> my online name at the time was xsilverxwingx and that was my forum name and people called me silver so i was like "guess thats me now" <Silver> well, enfurnus was my fave tbh <Silver> ANYWAY <Silver> basically thats how she started lol, i just did a thing and went with it <Silver> then before i decided to make things make any sense i just gave her these weird forms <Silver> just because i wanted to be cool and strong like everybody else lol <Nightmare> Tell us more about these weird forms. <Silver> god i barely remember there was like 5 <Silver> before there was just one alternate, i had like 3 i can remember <Silver> one of them was like spikey angury form that she did when she got mad, one was like, slightly more hardcore spikey angury form, and the final one, the only idea i ended up keeping once i grew up was a shadowy death form, rar scary <Silver> i had no reason for those 3 at the time <Silver> besides the fact that when i personally get angry i tend to see red lol <Silver> i only ended up keeping one which i had fun with, the last one, when i also started giving her a backstory <Nightmare> I dunno which of those is the one I'm thinking of if any, but I remember she'd get all dark colored and have like poisony lightning. <Nightmare> Her Blight Form. <Silver> yeah, that was the one i kept lol <Nightmare> Gotcha. <Silver> anyhow it related to her backstory, cus when she was young her family was killed by blight which was a plague made by an evil dude that corrupted land and killed everything <Sorrum> was silver a dragon or a human first? <Silver> she was half <Silver> daddy was a human mommy was a dragon <Nightmare> Dude saw a dragon <Nightmare> Felt the feelings. <Nightmare> Got curious. <Silver> well they had human forms, he didn't know lol <Silver> then he saw his weird dragon baby and told them to gtfo <Nightmare> Did full blooded dragons retain any dragon features in their human forms? <Nightmare> Or did Silver only have such features cause she was a halfie? <Silver> they had the choice to have some or none, depending on their magic, the ones with more perfected and practiced magic could hide all dragon features <Silver> silver never could cus she was half <Silver> so she was just a weirdo <Silver> she also had a sister, sister was human and agreed with daddy on "wat" <Nightmare> Neat. <Nightmare> didn't know that. <Silver> yeah i never got to get that in lol <Nightmare> Did she have a name? <Silver> nope cus i never used her lol <Nightmare> lawl <FDSuprema> Damn racist families. First Vic's mom now Silver's dad. <Silver> mebe if i ever use silver again <Nightmare> I assume she was a half sister, then? <Nightmare> Same daddy different mommy. <Silver> yeah :0 <Nightmare> What about Silver's brother, Ezekeil? Is he still canon? And is it the opposite, a half sibling with the same mom? <Silver> yes <Nightmare> Neato. <Silver> he was off on his own already at that time <Nightmare> Three kids, four parents. <Silver> love triangles <Sorrum> Is Ezekiel also a half-breed <Sorrum> half-dragon, half-human? <Silver> yep <Nightmare> So mamma likes that human meat huh <Silver> mhmmmm lol <Nightmare> Is Ezekeil a lot older than Silver? <Silver> yeah by like 50-60 years <Nightmare> I guess I should ask how old Silver is, and what the scale on dragon ages is. <Silver> silver is pretty young for a halfling, shes about 150 or so <Silver> both halflings and dragons can live for like thousands of years, though halflings dont live nearly as long as fullbred dragons <XeroBloodline> Naturally, duh. <XeroBloodline> Know your dragons, Purple... <XeroBloodline> Pfft, King of the Dragons my ass... <Silver> yeah gosh! * Nightmare puts on his Burger King Crown. <Nightmare> ò_ó <Sorrum> how old is momma dragon to be out attracting those human boys <Silver> silvers mum was like 3000+ and liked to walk among humans <Silver> silver is like 25-ish in human years so thats a general guideline lol * Nightmare does math. <Nightmare> So 6 dragon years = 1 human year. <Silver> basically <Nightmare> So Silver's mom is like a 500 year old human. <Nightmare> Girl probably looks like a wire sponge by now. <Silver> age shows differently in dragons lol <Sorrum> What kinda dragon powers did mom dragon have? <Silver> dragon mom was fairly generic as far as dragons go, had very powerful magic, and was lightning aligned as well <Silver> she was weak in combat and relied on magic for defense, but her magic was preetttyy scary <Silver> opposite of silver, who relies more on brute force and speed <Nightmare> Like what did it do? Rain lightning? Shoot fire? Turn people into toads? all of the above? <Silver> lightning storms, fire-y lightning, etc <Silver> lightning fields (like silver's ability to fill a field with lightning), but her's was much more powerful <Silver> anyway, she got killed by the blight and zombie'd <Nightmare> Wow <Nightmare> That's rude. <Nightmare> More rude dudes. <Silver> indeed <Sorrum> Was silver cared for by dragons as opposed to how she was shunned by humans? <Silver> sort of, some dragons liked her, some thought she was an abomination <Sorrum> Do you shoot zombie dragons in the head? <Silver> blight magic required the risen corpses to have to be fully burned before they would die <Silver> but i mean if you cut its head off, what can it do lol <Nightmare> Kinda like the old superstition of burning bones to dispel evil spirits from the body? <Silver> yeah :0 <Nightmare> So tell us more about this blight tragedy. <Nightmare> That claimed silver's mom <Silver> it was some crazy powerful necromancer that decided to try to cleanse the world and make it "better" <Nightmare> I remember what his name was in Dragon Ball ZV but I dunno if that was bullsh*tted or not. <Nightmare> Does he have a name? <Silver> i never chose a permanent one lol <Silver> what was his name in that lol <Nightmare> Urufu. <Sorrum> more u's please. <Silver> perhaps we can keep that, it sounds sufficiently evil <Nightmare> It's basically the romanization of "Wolf" written in Katakana. <Nightmare> Didn't realize that til I started learning Japanese years later. <Silver> oh <Silver> youre right <Silver> anyway, minions (often turned dragons) would simply just need to place a cursed crystal in the ground and it would spread from that crystal, instantly turning weaker creatures, which would then gang up on stronger ones <Nightmare> By that you mean the crystal would spread this magic called blight and infect things with zombie powers. <Silver> and the area too <Silver> it would kill all living things, including trees, grass, etc <Nightmare> Hella rude. <Silver> ikr <Nightmare> So Urufu or whatever comes and plants a crystal presumably near where Silver lives, right? And the result kills everything, including her mother? <Silver> silvers mum protected her from the attacks of the gang of weaker creatures, dying and leaving silver to have to fend off her zombie mum <Nightmare> Yikes. <Silver> blight in an area weakens magic of non-blight magic users <Silver> so silvers mum was kinda screwed <Silver> silver was able to narrowly escape, but being that she was not very strong at the time, she became partially influenced by the blight before she could get out <Silver> so, something i never did, she had the ability to use blight magic as well as her lightning magic <Silver> but blight magic drains life force anyway <Sorrum> so it would harm her to use it? <Silver> yep, depending on how much/how often she used it <Silver> her blight form would sometimes take over in moments of extreme emotion as well, and it would temporarly drain all her resources too <Nightmare> So Silver could like. <Nightmare> Raise the dead? <Silver> yes, but not in a good way lol <XeroBloodline> There's a good way to raise the dead...? <Sorrum> Holy sh*t, a dragon that can summon dead people. <Sorrum> Silver = Shenron <Silver> all she could do would be raise little critters, and they would be mindless slave corpses basically <Silver> and every time she did it, it would have slowly killed her over time <Nightmare> Could she control them? <Silver> yep * Nightmare makes a note for Silver's BattleBob to get a `summon that sics zombie chipmunks on the opponent. <Silver> rofl <Nightmare> `summon costs 5 HP to use too. <Nightmare> Story checks out. <Silver> lolol <Silver> blight magic could also enhance weaponry, and anybody cut with that weapon would become infected lol <Silver> among other crazy things <Silver> i always wanted to have her use it at least once, but i never found a chance <Nightmare> So Silver could theoretically cut someone and make them a zombie? <Silver> yes lol <Nightmare> Might need to make Blighted Silver a seperate NPC. Summon zambies and have her inflict the zombie status. <Silver> that would be cool lol <Silver> blighted silver would not be able to talk much, and would want to just kill everything <Nightmare> omnomnom imma eatin ur hedz <Silver> rofl <Silver> so basically, she was off on her own for years, never really fitting in to anything, and not having a mentor for magic, so she became more physical strength focused instead <Nightmare> so how did Silver's fight with her zombie mom go? Did she win? Or did she escape to the side? Or was she rescued? <Nightmare> Suspense is real. <Silver> she escaped <Silver> stood no chance <Silver> zombie mom is still alive too <FDSuprema> "alive" <Silver> indeed <Nightmare> Neat. <Silver> i wanted to have the party fight her <Silver> she would be super crazy op <Nightmare> Is this where some of Silver's compainons come in? After she escapes and is kinda learning to fight and is on the run from zombie magic? <Silver> yep! <Silver> but basically thats her backstory n stuff <Nightmare> That's cool. <Silver> i changed her so many times over time because i changed over time and i wanted to rp something not weak like kid me lol, and it made more sense to have her tough since her life story n all <Nightmare> How does Enfurnus fit into her story? <Silver> enfurnus ran in to silver a few times, before that one time in the rp <Silver> he helped her on random occassions, seeing her struggling when she was younger and not quite that powerful yet, enfurnus was a pretty nice dude <Silver> they were in the same area for quite some time <Silver> silver was afraid to talk to him because he was a full dragon <Silver> enfurnus eventually talked to her and they became friends, parting ways a few times because enfurnus was a commander in an army and he was needed quite often elsewhere <Nightmare> Dragon army? <Silver> yes <Silver> fighting against the still-exisiting blight, which most that knew it was still out there kept quiet about <Nightmare> So did Urufu mostly target dragons and stuff or did he just want everything dead? <Silver> he wanted everything dead, but began to sort of focus on the dragons once they started fighting so hard against him <Nightmare> I guess Dragons are a good first target. <Nightmare> They're strong so kill em <Nightmare> They're strong so turn them <Nightmare> Use them to take everything else easier <Silver> exactly lol <Silver> he wanted to turn as many dragons as he could <Silver> enfurnus lost his arm in a fight with evil dude, but he was not turned because of how powerful his own magic is <Nightmare> Nice. <Silver> so hence, robo arm, and all his scars <Nightmare> Also robot horn right <Silver> yes just one of them <Silver> he was my FAVVEEEE <Silver> he was the same age as silver roughly, just a lil older, just trained super hardcore cus he was in a military family <Nightmare> Well, did you ever have an endgame for Silver planned? <Nightmare> Like, defeat evil dude, save the day, happily ever after? <Nightmare> Or like, whatever? <Silver> i dunno lol <Silver> i wanted to have a big epic fight fo sure <Silver> hence why i wanted to try to bring in a forum rp with all our old chars <Silver> could easily make a storyline with all this <Nightmare> Would be pretty legit. <Silver> ye i think itd be fun too <Silver> and i like to write :K <Nightmare> Do it bish <Silver> okay?? give me a board and i will lol, i want to so bad lul <Silver> i could portray silver so much better now lol <Nightmare> That'd be cool to see. <Silver> well, let me know if you wanna do it...because i will jump on it lul <Nightmare> So like. <Nightmare> I know Celestrus started as an answer to Nightshade's bullsh*t. <Nightmare> How has he developed as a character? <Silver> LOL yes <Silver> well, both celestrus (another of my faves, <3 his brutality) and Arliam are both blight magic mages gone rogue <Nightmare> So they're zambies? <Nightmare> I don't know much about Arliam. I remember the name but I don't remember the details. <Nightmare> He didn't appear as often. <Silver> yep, except higher on the zombie food chain lol, they were born in to a family of blight mages so they were forcefully converted, and they are both very scary (and immortal...unless burned away entirely, but nightshade didnt need to know that) <Silver> arliam was celestrus's brother <Silver> celestrus was fun to rp so i used him more <Silver> both of them have full control over blight magic, so they could do a lot of damage, and neither of them could feel pain anyway <Nightmare> So they were kind of like Urufu? <Nightmare> But not as powerful magic? <Silver> yes <Silver> they are both over 1000 years old, when blight mages first began as a cult thing <Silver> if turned in a very specific way, mages would retain their minds and get the magic ability (without it draining lifeforce) as well <Nightmare> Dang. <Nightmare> So they could make zambie armies too if they had the proper resources and stuff? <Silver> yep! <Silver> but both of them specialize in offensive blight magic <Nightmare> What's that like exactly? <Silver> the injuries they leave on opponents never heal, for one <Nightmare> Yikes. <Silver> mostly its corrupted fire magic, they use very powerful fire that really has no weakness, but mostly they rely on their blight magic reserves to give them super strength so to speak <Nightmare> Gold fire right? <Silver> yep <Silver> celestrus used his often to heat up his claws for no reason other than to cause more damage <Silver> so basically they are extremely over powered and i only ever planned on using them for killing minions or fighting big mean bosses <Silver> celestrus was a sarcastic, murderous, vengeful jerk (except he has a few soft spots, but if i were to rp him again id make him a lot more jerky) and arliam was quiet and just wanted to make quick work of things <Silver> celestrus liked to make things die in the most agonizing way possible, and had no mercy ever for anything <Silver> thus why he was so fun lol <Nightmare> He and Arliam had the same types of powers then? <Silver> yep, they were exactly the same except for celestrus was more powerful and arliam used his head a bit more <Silver> and wasnt prone to just killing things or doing reckless things <Silver> their interests did not align with killing the entire earth, so they did their own thing <Nightmare> Seem like pretty swell guys. <Silver> sorta lol <Silver> celestrus was prone to not differing between good and evil and just murdered whatever suited him, until he met up with everyone and changed a slight bit <Nightmare> Would you say they're allies of Silver's, or just guys she crosses path with sometimes and if she's lucky they don't wanna hurt her? <Silver> they were guys she just crossed paths with to begin with, but they became neutral and eventually friends over time <Silver> silver did not judge them for looking half dead, so they came to respect her a bit <Silver> and ultimately silver risked her life trying to save celestrus (befroe she knew they were immortal and all) so they realized shes probably cool <Silver> also they arent dragons <Silver> they are some weird species related to dragons that went extinct <Nightmare> They're not? <Nightmare> I remember they didn't have wings but I assumed they lost them somehow. <Silver> nope <Silver> theyre weird fluffie things <Nightmare> Weird. <Nightmare> Do you have a name for those thingies? <Silver> nope lol <Nightmare> From henceforth they are fluffers. <Silver> yes perfect <Silver> i bet celestrus would appreciate that <Nightmare> Naturally. <Nightmare> Well, I can't think of anything else off the top of my head, so I guess do you have any other details you can think of you wanna share? <Silver> hmmm, i dont think so <Silver> just that <Silver> i want FORUM OLDSCHOOL RP

Fusion explains "Australian Fusion", an incarnation of his character Fusion that appeared in the "Tales of ZV" roleplay. <Fusion> Alright, since the last time I played this character was the old ZV RP that HZ murdered, it's been some time since I've ever had any actual play with the character and, much like Sanic Shory, there's probably some bits that didn't get as fleshed out as much as I wanted them to. <Fusion> Last time I really played him, I meant. But like Sanic Shory and Reploid Fusion, Australian Fusion originates from the same RP circles, only this one was a tightly knit one that flowed kinda similarly to how FFZV did. <Fusion> Onto the character himself. Aus!Fusion (as I'll call him from here on out) and his setting were kind of actually more along the lines of classic Final Fantasy. There wasn't much to the setting itself other than that generally, it was closer to medieval than FFZV's more magical take. <Fusion> Onto his backstory. Aus!Fusion's story has him living a normal life, nothing particularly tragic happens. Of note, is Aus!Fusion's father, who was frequently out of the house and but often returned. But as time went on, the gaps between him leaving and returning began to grow longer, and longer, until one day the guy never returned home at all, and no news about the man's passing of any sort ever arrived. <Fusion> Months passed and Aus!Fusion's mother fell ill to a mysterious disease. On her death bad, she handed Aus!Fusion a locket of some kind. One that couldn't be opened, and it had engravings on it, along with a final wish. "Find him." Aus!Fusion was told, and nothing else, and so he set out to track down his father. <Fusion> Aus!Fusion sets out on his quest with the only description he really knows: "He looks like me, but taller and with broader shoulders." He does get a breadcrumb trail to follow, but everybody says that the guy had passed through a few months ago, and they don't know what he was up to beyond dropping by. <Fusion> Now from this point on, here's where his original story from the RP he came from and the Tales of ZV version split apart. <Fusion> because after checking two close by towns, he meets a merchant... Whose name I forgot. Anyway, IIRC Aus!Fusion and the merchant strike an agreement: If Aus!Fusion helps him, the merchant will offer travel from town to town. Because this merchant has been having a bit of a persistent problem with thieves. <Nightmare> Yay mercenary australian bodyguard Fusion <Fusion> Yep, and on the fourth town they visit, a capital, chaos springs up. The duo's travelling is brought to a halt at the site of a panic! Some sort of beast was attacking the nearby castle, it'd overwhelmed the guards and although most of the royalty in were safe, the beast was trapped inside along with one of the royal family's aides. <Fusion> Merchant is like "Maybe we should stick this one out, I mean is one person really all that important" and Aus!Fusion goes "Actually, they'll probably pay us for slaying the beast." <Nightmare> Gotta get the munz <Tony> I like the way this Aussie thinks. <XeroBloodline> Way to be an upstanding citizen there. <Fusion> Yep, the EXP and Gil are worth it for all this! Anyway... <Fusion> Since the merchant doesn't really want to fight, Aus!Fusion goes in to fight it. Alone. ...Yeah, party of 1 against what turns out to not be a usual beast. In fact, Aus!Fusion doesn't recognize it, but attacks it anyway. <Fusion> I wanna take an aside and talk about the giant boomerang I had with him. It's nothing special, or really that original (Link's boomerang, but scaled up to be almost person-sized) but basically, it kind of is just a giant boomerang, but not once has it ever failed to return, pretty much. There, aside complete... <Nightmare> Getting Sango up in this bitch. <XeroBloodline> Of course he uses a giant boomerang. Don't all Aussies use a giant boomerang? <Tony> Yes. <XeroBloodline> I love it. Continue. <Fusion> So it's a pretty rough fight. Strike a beast with a boomerang, you do 1 damage and then it one-shots you. Aus!Fusion is done for... Or is he? Because despite him being pretty sure he's dead, he feels a surge of something from his chest and then is able to stand back up. Maybe he was just dazed, we don't know. He engages in a different strategy, throw the boomerang as a distraction, grab one of the guards' crossbows, take aim at the beast and... <Fusion> 9999 damage. One shot kill, it was a plot victory so. But the beast doesn't leave a corpse, it starts to disintigrate into mist, and that mist flies up into one of the holes made on the roof from the beast's prior thrashing around, and it flies out of the castle. <Fusion> It also left something behind. Something that could be connected to Aus!Fusion's boomerang, changing it slightly. It gains a red glow around it's edges and seems to gain sharper edges, along with gaining a handle. But Aus!Fusion doesn't get very long to look over his transformed weapon before he hears a voice! <Fusion> Rushing through the castle, he finds the said to be survivor, a single mistress who'd been trapped. She's roughly Aus!Fusion's age, though she insists that she's to be called "Princess" and nothing else. Then go to turn in the quest, and yeah there is a hefty payout for cleaning out the beast, though that it simply dispersed into a mist is a bit strange. <Fusion> And forgive me, but at this point on my memory of the original story gets a bit hazy here. I remember the next major thing that happened, and from then on I tried to write my own ending to the story since the original RP simply died. <Fusion> Anyway, Princess decides to join the party. "Anything is better than living in a stuffy castle all the time." and such for reasons. <Fusion> Over the course of the next few places our now 3-person party fixes up. Aus!Fusion develops his combat skills and acquires a crossbow, the merchant learns some level of magic skills, and Princess turns out to have a knack for medicine. <Fusion> Nice little rounded out party we got here. A fighter, a mage, and a healer. <Fusion> From here on out, it seems like the trail of Aus!Fusion's dad starts to get warmer. But on one of their trips, Princess goes missing, and doesn't return... A cause for concern. <Fusion> Aus!Fusion continues his search for the night, returning home. But he's not tired, so he sits outside, then he hears a voice. ...It's one of the thieves that had been assaulting the group earlier. But not here to attack him or attack anybody else, in fact the rest of the group isn't even around. The two have a bit of a chat for a while. It ends with basically a "...see you around." and the thief vanishing. <Fusion> The next day, Princess returns, all fine because she thought the Inn the duo booked was a mess. <Fusion> Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the thief Aus!Fusion spoke with called herself the leader of the group. <Tony> ... <XeroBloodline> "Her"self? HMMMMMmmmmm.... <Fusion> Yep. Totally a thieving princess we got here. <Fusion> ...Not that it matters that much. See, this is where the original story died off, the RP didn't continue because we kind of ran ideas. So I pulled some stuff together for this session. Won't mean as much as the original story, though. <Fusion> Anyway, thief attacks seem to get a bit scarce, as Aus!Fusion decides to crack down on Princess's wandering. But we don't get much time to let that simmer, as on the way to another town, the trio run into someone strange. <Fusion> Someone clad in full armor. They don't respond to anything, then turn to look at the party. They do nothing, but don't move. Merchant gets a bit impatient, flares a bit of magic, then the armored man draws a strangely shaped sword and rushes the party. Whoever they are, they're skilled but they never bother the cart nor do they ever touch Princess. In fact, Aus!Fusion gets in a surprisingly easy killing blow. <Fusion> The armored man doubles over... Then falls to pieces. It's just pieces of a metallic armor, which fade away into mist and a glowing mass of magic from this armor blasts away at an insane speed, escaping the area very quickly. <Fusion> There are a few more encounters with these armored figures. Though they never change in power, they do seem to have varying levels of skill. But one thing is always common: They always vanish, they never speak, and they always target the merchant first. <Fusion> Then our heroes run into something strange. A group of these armored figures surrounding some sort of construct. It was killing the land around it, and the construct itself was growing over what it killed. Although our heroes can take down the armored figures, they don't know what to do about the construct, and getting close to it feels strange, rather than bad. <Fusion> Aus!Fusion puts his hand toward it and his hand starts to glow with red lines, and feels like it's burning. He doesn't push on in to find out how much more it could hurt, pulling his hand back and deciding. "...Well, maybe my dad isn't so important. Whatever these things are... They aren't good." <Fusion> Then, another town later, our heroes are stopped by a bunch of those armored figures. <Fusion> AND. Surrounded. <Fusion> RIP the party--I mean, actually no. Another armored figure appears, and they're in a more elaborate and decorated set of armor. Unlike the rest, there does seem to be something inside of this suit. This newcomer takes a good long look at the party. ...Particularly at Fusion rather than the merchant. All they remark is "...Interesting." Before this seeming commander and soldiers vanish. <Fusion> From there, the trio shifts gears and starts following the trail of the armored figures, which is red hot. They've been popping up all over the place, and their particular favorite targets have been mages and people who decide to attack them, which can be a bit of both. Our party finds more of those weird constructs until they're given the lead to something big. <Fusion> Princess gets cold feet about the whole thing and bails before the final stop. But shortly after her escape, the thieves arrive, and they're not here to rob the duo, they're here to help and seem to know a bit more about these armored figures. <XeroBloodline> Imagine that... <Fusion> The things they knew was that mainly these armored figures attacked the largest nearby source of magic and did all they could to destroy it. But if someone had no magic potential, then the figures barely ever recognized that they existed. In fact, there were a few noted cases where people walked right up to the armored figures and met no resistance. <Nightmare> So they have a huge hate boner for mages. <Fusion> And they can only see varieties of magic. <Fusion> YOU! ASSHOLE DOING CARD TRICKS ON THE STREET! Your ass is grass. <XeroBloodline> In memory of David Blaine. <Tony> Damn mage haters... <Fusion> Anyway, from there, the thieves join the party as they approach... A strange city. It kind of had a barrier of some kind around it, though it otherwise appeared safe to enter. From what could be seen from outside, everything inside looekd like a paradise. But there was no one in the city, no one walking around, nothing. <Fusion> Everybody starts to cross the barrier one at a time. The thieves don't seem to feel anything, wondering what the big deal was, the merchant passes through and says that the air feels a bit cramped for some reason... <Fusion> Aus!Fusion passes through the barrier, then red lines brightly light up all over his body and he doubles over in pain. The locket he was carrying springs to life... And similar armor to all the armored figures forms around him, also transforming the boomerang he carried into something that was more akin to a sword. Once the armor's completely formed, he stands back up. But otherwise, he's alright, or at least he thinks he is. <Fusion> Feeling well enough to travel, the party explores the city a bit, choosing instead to travel to the center of the city, the site of a spire. They enter into the spire and... They seem to enter some kind of void. There's magic symbols everywhere, the area is so rife with a strong kind of magic. And there's only one other person in this room. The highly decorated armored figure from earlier. <Fusion> They turn around, and pull off their head, which turns out to be their helmet. Aus!Fusion is shocked... The leader of this armored army is none other than his father. <Fusion> The reason Aus!Fusion's dad disappeared was because his wife (Aus!Fusion's mother) had a curse placed on her that was going to kill her, and he wanted to find a cure on his own, but became increasingly desperate until he found something that could just plain consume the cursed magic entirely. But in the process of finding this, he'd made another discovery: Any magic could be manipulated into curse magic. So to save the world from vile people... <Nightmare> He had to kill all mages! <Nightmare> Seems legit. <Fusion> Nope. He had to kill all of the magic, but only specific kinds of magic. Magic that he couldn't control shouldn't exist. <Fusion> ...None of this megalomania is helped when Aus!Fusion tells his dad that his wife died. <Fusion> It turns out that this extent of magic control was going to come down to even the natural magic of life things presented. In the end, this forces Aus!Fusion and his father into a fight against each other, one on one since the others are thrown out of the room by force, and Aus!Fusion seems to be immune to attacks of this kind of magic due to his newfound armor. <Fusion> And it's a stalemate. But in the process, Aus!Fusion's armor was cut just deep enough that the locket's chain was sliced apart, and it falls out of the gap in his armor. It starts glowing brightly as it hits the floor. Aus!Fusion's dad recognizes this locket, and then starts to freak out as the locket's glow fades. See, this story gets a little bit deeper. <Fusion> The locket completely disintigrates. ...And it was something special. See, in the event of her death, Aus!Fusion's father was going to use what he'd learned in trying to help her... To revive her should she have died from the curse, including reconstituting a new body for her. What just evaporated into nothingness was her essence, contained in that locket. <Nightmare> So he just freed Fusion's mom's ghost clone? <Fusion> Nope. Killed her. <Nightmare> Way rude. <Tony> Way to f**k it up, dude! <Fusion> Yep, and that's so much for the city's orderly magic. His frustration causes the entire city to destabilize, and all of it's residents to wake up. It's a fighting exit for our heroes as the city, and all of the constructs, and armored figures... Begin to detonate. Lots of destruction, our heroes barely make it out in time. <Nightmare> Damn. <Nightmare> Load bearing locket. <Fusion> ...Hate to say, but that's about as far as I wrote it. <Nightmare> Dang. <Nightmare> Cliff hanger'd. <Fusion> More fun that way! <Nightmare> Now you gotta think up a conclusion and bring it to us next time. <XeroBloodline> Sounds like you need to dig this one out and finish writing it, yeah.

Part 2 of Xero's explanation of the "Heritage Foundation" arc in "Cursed Bloodlines", including the introduction of Melanie and Steagos.<XeroBloodline> You guys remember where we left off? <Nightmare> Uhhh. <Renegade> We got a space ship <Nightmare> Amp became a robot dude. <Nightmare> And everyone left in a space ship <Nightmare> To see what the hell's going on. <Nightmare> With these heritage guys messing with them. <Renegade> ^^^ <XeroBloodline> Cheetix showed up at the house, told Xero he wanted to fight him and Cyber to test their private army, Xero said no, Cheetix said "don't care" tried to kick his ass, Xero and Cyber kicked his ass, then what you guys said. <XeroBloodline> Amp gets a new body, they get on a ship, go through the Bolaris Shortcut to get to the otherside of the galaxy. <XeroBloodline> Everybody good? <Tony> Yup. <Nightmare> My body is ready. <XeroBloodline> Also, just for shits and giggles, everybody has assigned jobs on the ship. <XeroBloodline> Cyber's the pilot, Xero runs tactical (weapons and such), Renegade does communications, and Amp handles the engines. Just to throw that out there. <XeroBloodline> The ship really needs a crew of about 20 to run it properly, it's slightly bigger than you probably think. But Amp's automated alot of it, and he and Xero can handle the daily maintenance. <XeroBloodline> In my head it's always looked like the Defiant. Love that little boat. <XeroBloodline> s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/48/a0/a9/48a0a9d4d7ace39d1f34b121b5028d2c.jpg<Nightmare> USS Defiant <Nightmare> In memory of that guy Cyber killed. <XeroBloodline> OR DID HE?!?!?!<Nightmare> nga wut <XeroBloodline> Anyway. <XeroBloodline> Xero and company make it to the other side of the galaxy, come out in Bolaris territory. <XeroBloodline> Now, I know what you're thinking. Last time Cyber was here crap went kinda south. They should probably move on as quickly as possible to stay under the radar. <XeroBloodline> Is that what they do? <XeroBloodline> Of course that's not what they do... <XeroBloodline> Xero and Renegade have never been to another planet. (well Xero hasn't dunno about Rene but for the sake of argument) <XeroBloodline> So they want to check out Bolaris. Luckily, there's two inhabited planets in this solar system. One is pretty much entirely made up of military bases, the other is much more civilian and low key. <XeroBloodline> So they go there, just to check out the planet and possibly pick up a few supplies native to this side of the galaxy. Because why not. <XeroBloodline> When they get there it's getting dark, and Cyber suddenly remembers this really nice club he use to frequent back in the day. Yes he was 18 "back in the day" but whatever, he was in the military you can get away with sh*t like that. <XeroBloodline> So Cyber convinces them to get all dressed up and go out to this club. Amp stays behind to keep an eye on the ship and tweak a few things. This is the ship's first real voyage after all. <XeroBloodline> Cyber, Xero, and Rene make their way to this club, then kinda branch off and do their own thing. Cyber's trying to get a drink at the bar, Xero's found a nice quiet corner to sit and enjoy his rum, and Rene's being a little horny bastard hitting on every woman he sees. <XeroBloodline> Cause you know that's what he'd do... <XeroBloodline> So, just because I want crowd participation, each of these three people do something at the bar. Who do you want me to cover first? <Tony> Rene. <Nightmare> Cyber. <XeroBloodline> I saw Rene first. <XeroBloodline> That's actually a good place to start. <XeroBloodline> So Rene's of course running around doing his thing hitting on all the women, quite unsuccessfuly. <XeroBloodline> But every once in a while, he notices these fliers all over the club, some on the wall, some on the tables, just kinda scattered about. These fliers are for a very specific contest going on tonight at this club. <XeroBloodline> When Rene sees what this contest is, he suddenly panics, and starts snatching up every flier he can find, trying to make sure someone doesn't see them. <XeroBloodline> Put a pin in that. Let's go check on Cyber. <XeroBloodline> Cyber's at the bar ordering a beer, and casually checking out the scenery, when he spots this one woman at the bar, and their eyes lock immediately. <XeroBloodline> Short version, Cyber instantly falls head over heels for her, thinks she's absolutely beautiful, and is actually a little awe struck and nervous to talk to her. <Nightmare> A little unlike Cyber. <Nightmare> Neat. <XeroBloodline> She seems to feel the same way at first, but then she walks over, and before Cyber can say a word she hits him with it hard. <XeroBloodline> Stuff like "before you start, no it didn't hurt when I fell from heaven, I don't have pockets so there's not a mirror in there, I'm not going to your place or mine," etc... <XeroBloodline> And Cyber's taken back by this a little, but still kinda impressed that this girl actually has a mind of her own. And rather than trying to hit on her, they actually strike up a normal intelligent conversation. <XeroBloodline> Her name is Melanie by the way. <Nightmare> Is she a weird alien chick <Nightmare> Or does she look normal <XeroBloodline> No, she's normal. Bolaris people are human. <XeroBloodline> For the most part. <Nightmare> Gotcha. <XeroBloodline> I could describe her in detail if you're that curious. <Nightmare> If she's gonna be important, at least a quick rundown couldn't hurt. <XeroBloodline> About 5'6, jet black hair, emerald green eyes, hair usually covers one eye but not all emo-ish, okay rack but a better butt. <Nightmare> Got it. <XeroBloodline> So, they're actually having pleasant conversation. Rene's still running around grabbing up these fliers, and occasionally checking on Xero. <XeroBloodline> OH YEAH XERO'S HERE. <XeroBloodline> Let's see what he's doing. <Renegade> I should be sleeping but I heard I'm grabbing fliers and hitting on hot babes. <Nightmare> This is better than sleep anyway. <XeroBloodline> Xero's...just sitting in the corner enjoying his coke and rum. Kinda just taking in the scenery, enjoying the kinda relaxing night life, notices Cyber's having a pleasant conversation, and Rene's running around like a chicken with his head cut off for some strange reason... <XeroBloodline> Rene finally sits down and takes a break next to Xero, when the DJ makes an announcement... <XeroBloodline> "Don't forget folks, the 3rd annual SHRED FEST GUITAR SOLO COMPETITION is happening in 30 minutes so DON'T GO ANYWHERE!" <Nightmare> Aw sh*t. <Renegade> Awh sh*t. <Tony> ... <Nightmare> In memory of Renegade's effort. <Renegade> ^^ <XeroBloodline> Rene facepalms, Cyber hears this and facepalms too, Melanie wonders why, Cyber attemps to explain. <XeroBloodline> Xero does the whole eyebrow thing, slowly gets up, says "I'll be right back." <Tony> Damn it, <Nightmare> So much for lowkey. <XeroBloodline> Rene's trying to plead with him, it's too late to sign up he says. <XeroBloodline> DJ immediately announces "slots are still available, sign up now!" <XeroBloodline> Rene says "it's in 30 minutes, you don't have enough time to go back to the ship!" <XeroBloodline> Xero pulls out his communicator and has Amp teleport his guitar to him instantly. <XeroBloodline> Rene finally gives up and sits back down. <XeroBloodline> So, like you said. So much for low key. <XeroBloodline> Fast forward about, oh, 30 minutes, and it's guitar solo competition time. <XeroBloodline> Rene's hanging out with Cyber and his new friend back at the bar, and it's Xero's turn to take the stage. <XeroBloodline> And just for added comedy, Cyber realizes "...I wonder what name he used as an alias? For sure he didn't use his re--" <XeroBloodline> DJ announces, "ladies and gentlemen our next contestant, XERO BLOODLINE!!" <XeroBloodline> Cue facepalms. <Nightmare> XD <FDSuprema> Oh jeez. <XeroBloodline> A little bit of useless trivia, in my original headcanon Xero didn't go get a guitar. He just summoned the Nevan. <XeroBloodline> But we're trying to get away from that. <XeroBloodline> BUT ANYWAY. <XeroBloodline> Needless to say, Xero starts playing his ass off, wowing the crowd and slaughtering the competition. Cause it's my story, duh. <XeroBloodline> Right when Xero's about to finish his solo, all of a sudden the back door behind the stage explodes, the ceiling collapses, and the main door to the bar is kicked in. <XeroBloodline> Suddenly the entire club is filled with faceless soldiers in exoskeletal armor. The Heritage Foundation has shown up. <XeroBloodline> However, these soldiers are wearing purple armor, as in contrast to Cheetix's bright orange armor. <XeroBloodline> But, either way, there's dozens of soldiers pouring in, attacking indiscriminately in the club. <XeroBloodline> Xero starts fighting off the ones pouring in from the stage, yells at Rene to start evacuating the people and getting them to safety. Xero then looks for Cyber to try and get some help, but he's already gone. <XeroBloodline> Cyber was thinking with the wrong head apparently and opted to save his new lady friend first, so he starts hauling ass with Melanie trying to get her to safety. <XeroBloodline> So Xero's pretty much left alone to fight these soldiers in the club while Renegade's kinda helping, but his priority is getting people to safety. <XeroBloodline> Meanwhile Cyber's cutting through back alleys and such, when suddenly he's blindsided by a massive soldier who's easily 3 times his size and incredibly powerful. And by "blindside" I mean bursts through a wall to punch the hell out of Cyber. <XeroBloodline> This huge soldier is none other than our 2nd Heritage commander, Steagos. <XeroBloodline> Like I said, he's physically much larger than your average person, dawning the same style of exoskeletal armor, but colored purple. So obviously these smaller troops are under his command. <XeroBloodline> Melanie was kinda caught in the initial blindside attack, but wasn't really hurt so much as thrown to the side. Steagos skips the introduction, but says something snarky along the lines of, "and this is the guy who killed Cheetix...?" <XeroBloodline> He comes after Cyber, and as far as brute strength easily overpowers Cyber, who still hasn't fully recovered from that cheap shot. <XeroBloodline> Steagos beats on Cyber for a minute, but eventually Cyber gets his bearings and starts moving around Steagos, at least able to dodge his attacks and keep from getting his ass beat. <XeroBloodline> By this point Xero's done clearing out the fodder, Rene's got everyone to saftey, so they show up to save the day. Steagos mutters something about not being prepared for a three on one fight (vaguely similar to what Cheetix said when he died) and he bails. <Renegade> says the asshole who brings a buncha soldiers to a supposed 1v1. <XeroBloodline> Well the soldiers were suppose to keep us busy longer than they did. <XeroBloodline> See, it's a tiny bit of a spoiler, but that's going to be a reoccuring theme with these Heritage guys. They constantly underestimate Xero and company. <XeroBloodline> But everytime they encounter them again, things will be different. You'll see eventually. <XeroBloodline> Anyway, Xero turns around and is about to give Cyber the business for bailing on him, but then sees Cyber basically crawling over to check on Melanie to make sure she's okay. <XeroBloodline> Xero decides to save this ass chewing for later, but think they need to get out of there regardless, before the authorities show up. <XeroBloodline> Now, here's where there's some discrepancy in what I remember writing, and what I think should happen. <Nightmare> Oh? <XeroBloodline> In my original story, I had Cyber kinda make sure Melanie was alive, but then he kinda bailed with Xero and Rene cause the authorities were coming. They would run into her later by dumb luck the next day, but I'll cover that if that's the way we go. <XeroBloodline> Or, we could just..."kidnap" Melanie now. Like she could be unconscious and need help or something. <Renegade> Pretty sure we'd "kidnap" her. <Nightmare> I kinda like kidnapping. <XeroBloodline> Okay, so, Melanie's not like dying or nothing, but she's hurt and unconscious. Cyber doesn't wanna just leave her there, so he convinces Xero to take her with them. <XeroBloodline> Which only works because, like Nightmare noticed before, Cyber isn't behaving like Cyber. He's not usually attached to one woman like this. <XeroBloodline> Xero and company make it back to the ship, Amp flies them out of there while Cyber tends to Melanie. <XeroBloodline> Later (since I'm kinda making this part up as we go and adapting it) she'll wake up all pissed off that she's been "kidnapped" but Cyber talks her down and convinces her that she's perfectly safe and they'll take her home later. <XeroBloodline> (spoiler, they don't take her home later) <XeroBloodline> So, that's the 2nd encounter with the Heritage Foundation already, just as soon as they make it to the other side of the galaxy. <XeroBloodline> Any questions up to that point? <FDSuprema> Only one. <FDSuprema> Is Steagos' favorite meal Steak? <XeroBloodline> Actually, he doesn't really like meat... <XeroBloodline> Cause he's named after something other than steak. <XeroBloodline> You might say he's an herbivore...hint hink wink wink nudge nudge. <Nightmare> Har har. <FDSuprema>

Nightmare continues the would-be story of "NightmareMMZero Comics" by detailing two story arcs that would have come after the "Aura Stone" story arc: The "Renegade vs Nightmare" arc, and the "Renovations" arc.<Nightmare> I wanna talk about my old comic so no choice for you assholes tonight. <Nightmare> To clarify, this is what would have happened in my old comic if I had continued it where it left off. I had that whole comic planned out in detail. <Nightmare> But as we learned in one of the other storytimes, I have a new canon that would have been explored in a reboot that never got off the ground. <Nightmare> Unfortunately the reboot is a lot more abstract. Mostly cause it never got off the ground. <Nightmare> Which is why I have way more to talk about with the original story. <Nightmare> That being said. <Nightmare> Let's recap quickly on the original canon. * XeroBloodline is kinda excited. <Nightmare> As you saw in the old comic, Nightmare got himself a nifty bodyguard, Neoforte. Spex, one of his old buddies showed up. Nighmare, Neoforte, and Spex were minding their business when Hunters came looking for Spex's sorry ass. <Nightmare> Nightmare, Neoforte, and Spex fight off the Hunters, get captured, break out, blah blah blah, all is well. <Nightmare> Spex finds it harder to control his evil satan personality. Because reasons. <Nightmare> Reverts to his old self physically and mentally a few times. Pisses Neoforte off. <Renegade> sounds about right <Nightmare> Spex leaves to go pout, finds an Aura Stone mine being held up, trying to stop it he gets stabbed with a black aura stone, and the bizzare energy in the stone fuses with his body. This causes not only his evil mind to be trapped in control of his body, but also gets a huge power buff from the Black Aura Stone's energy. <Nightmare> He goes around breaking sh*t cause human Spex was a bag a'dick. <Nightmare> After a marathon of assholes (including Xero) try and fail to beat Spex into submission, Neoforte and Nightmare decide to build a machine to separate Spex's evil energy from the rest of his body, isolate it, and seal it. <Nightmare> That's where the comic left off. <Nightmare> Now we learned in a previous storytime some important details about Nightmare, as well as how the Aura Stone Arc ended. So I'm going to briefly recap those as well. <Nightmare> Nightmare started life as two replicas of X and Zero. They were built by a resistance to stand up to a bad guy called Audacity, who was using the viral Nightmares from X6 to take over a nearby planet. <Nightmare> The replicas of X and Zero helped beat back Audacity, but were eventually trashed in battle. The parts from the two were used to build a new reploid, MegaMan Zero, who again was awesome until it got infected by the Nightmare virus, turning it into Nightmare MegaMan Zero. Aka the purple bastard we all know and love. <Nightmare> By that point Audacity's forces had been all but completely smashed and the war had turned in favor of the resistance. Eventually Audacity fled the planet to go hide somewhere. <Nightmare> Nightmare was taken out of the fight after he got infected because nobody trusted him cause of his infection. Thinking he could go rogue or somehow be under Audacity's control cause of the Nightmare Virus thing. <Nightmare> Nightmare met Spex, they became buddies, Audacity's forces were defeated, Nightmare caught wind that Audacity fled to Earth, so Nightmare went to Earth to see if he could find him cause Audacity's a dick and he's responsible for not only Nightmare being born but becoming the thing that he is. <Nightmare> And Nightmare has been secretly trying to track down Audacity this whole time. Neoforte was brought on as his bodyguard because Nightmare was afraid that if he was pushed too hard in a fight he might go maverick cause of the Nightmare Virus. <Nightmare> ANYWAY <Nightmare> Skip ahead back to the end of the Aura Stone Arc. <Nightmare> Nightmare and Neoforte wheel out their Energy Containment Machine to use against Spex. <Nightmare> Neoforte battles Spex to distract him while Nightmare calibrates the machine and locks onto Spex's energy signature. <Nightmare> Then Nightmare and Neoforte tag out, Nightmare distracts Spex while Neoforte charges, aims, and fires the machine. <Nightmare> Nightmare in the process goes maverick for a second there and we see the first glimpse of the True Nightmare. Evil Nightmare and Evil Spex slug it out until Neoforte is able to shoot Spex with a laser from the machine, dispelling the Black Aura Stone's energy and sealing away Spex's evil energy in his body. <Nightmare> Nightmare and Spex both regain their senses and bail the f**k out with Neoforte. <Nightmare> They all live happily ever after. <Nightmare> Now. <Nightmare> Onto new stuff. <Nightmare> I'm going to quickly cover the next couple arcs of my comic. Becuase they were short and kinda silly. <Nightmare> See my comic was planned to be divided into some specific parts. <Nightmare> There were three main stories. <Nightmare> The first of the three main stories had 10 arcs. <Nightmare> The first three mostly focused on world building and establishing Nightmare, Neoforte, and Spex. Those are the Prologue Arc, the Hunter Invasion Arc, and the Aura Stone Arc. <Nightmare> The next two were basically just screwing around and excuses for cameos. <Nightmare> So let's start arc #4. <Nightmare> Basically known as the Nightmare vs Renegade Arc. <Nightmare> Because that's practically all it was. A rematch between Nightmare and Renegade to follow the Cursed Bloodlines fight they had. <XeroBloodline> =D <Renegade> <Nightmare> The premise of Arc #4 was, following Xero's defeat at the hands of Aura Stone Spex in the previous arc, if you recall Spex broke the Soul Reaver. And Neoforte claimed he could fix it. <Nightmare> As much sense as any of those events make. <Nightmare> In Arc #4, Xero decides to take Neoforte up on his offer. So Xero and Renegade swing by Nightmare's place. <Nightmare> Xero and Neoforte talk a bit and Neoforte gets to work on repairing the Soul Reaver. <Nightmare> Meanwhile, Spex annoys Xero for a bit, Xero threatens to school him, Spex rubs it in his face that he already beat Xero once before, Xero asks him if he wants to try it without being hopped up on Aura Stones, Spex conviniently has a leg cramp, etc... <Nightmare> Speaking of cool fights! Renegade acts smug over beating up Nightmare. Nightmare says "Ay I let you win." Renegade says "Whatever bitch, as if." It escelates until they agree to have a sparring match in Nightmare's training room while they wait for Neoforte to fix the Soul Reaver. <Nightmare> And basically the rest of the arc is a bloody, brutal brawl between Nightmare and Renegade. <Nightmare> Beating each other's asses, wrecking up the training room, bust out of the training room and continue fighting all over the house. <Nightmare> Just trash the house. <Nightmare> Like all of it. <Nightmare> Break every room. <Nightmare> Place nearly comes down on them by the end. <Nightmare> Ends in a draw when they're both about to drop dead from exhaustion and Xero tells them to knock it off and all they're proving is that they're both stupid, stubborn, and destructive. <Renegade> I can't believe you didn't sprite a 1000 page fight comic of us destroying your house. <Nightmare> I know right? <Nightmare> Woulda been that long probs. <Renegade> From the rate you were headed probably. <Nightmare> By the end, Neoforte forks over Xero's shiny fixed sword, Xero has to practically carry Renegade out of there, and Nightmare, Neoforte, and Spex are left looking over the house and thinking "Well sh*t, now what?" <Nightmare> Close Arc #4. <Nightmare> Pretty simple. <Nightmare> Pretty dumb. <Renegade> Pretty great. <Nightmare> But woulda been fun with gratuitous violence. <Nightmare> Anyhow. <Nightmare> The next Arc. <Nightmare> Arc #5. <Nightmare> Is basically just shenanigans and cameos. <Nightmare> And even dumber. <Tony> Sounds great. <Nightmare> The premise for Arc #5 would have been, Nightmare's house is falling apart so he needs to fix it up. He calls Xero and asks him who does the work around his gigantic military base house thingy. <Nightmare> Xero says he basically maintains it himself, he and his cohorts. Nightmare's a little disappointed cause he was hoping Xero would know a guy who could fix up his house. <Nightmare> <Xero> Silly Purple, you're speaking to the perfect guy... <Nightmare> Nightmare don't know why Xero would wanna do that. Xero says he's pleased with Neoforte's work on the Reaver. Nightmare doesn't exactly buy that, and Xero cryptically alludes to he wouldn't mind the three of us assholes oweing him a huge favor. <Nightmare> So Nightmare reluctantly agrees. Xero says that Nightmare needs to find a new place to stay for awhile cause he, Neoforte, and Spex would just be in his way. Nightmare asks if he can stay at Xero's place, Xero says "Hell no" and then eventually concedes that he knows a guy who could hook them up with something. <Nightmare> So the time arrives. Nightmare, Neoforte, and Spex pack up, and Xero arrives at the house. <Nightmare> Xero curiously does not bring Renegade or Cyber, claiming that they're lazy and wouldn't be any help. <Nightmare> But he does bring Amp. And another buddy. <Nightmare> That buddy being none other than the Shaunman. <Renegade> I remember that guy. <Nightmare> Of course you do. <Nightmare> So Shaun tells Nightmare to go to these coordinates, he fixed him, Spex, and Neoforte up a place to stay with some friends. <Nightmare> And then Xero shoos Nightmare and company away so they can work. <Nightmare> Nightmare is kinda nervous about the arrangement, Spex assures him it'll be fine, Neoforte is just going along with whatever Nightmare does. <Nightmare> Nightmare and Co leave. They go to a residential part of the big city on the coast. <Nightmare> Find themselves at a normal-looking house containing none other than RockRichard and Z-Kat, my brother and sister's characters. Which this arc exists partially because they begged to be in my comic, and partially because they used to do comics with Shaunman back in the day. <Nightmare> So pleasing the kids + vaguely sensible cameos, yay... <Nightmare> Now I dunno if anybody ever read any of the RockRichard and Z-Kat comics. They're unfortunately all long gone. Shaun had some but that was a decade and a bunch of computers ago. And all the ones my sister had died when her old Windows 98 computer fried a century ago. <Nightmare> And I certainly didn't have any. I had their sprites but none of the actual comics. <Nightmare> But the general premise for their comics was RockRichard was a destructive hellrazer getting into trouble, and Z-Kat was his foil calling him dumb and trying to keep him from burning the city down with his antics. <Nightmare> And Shaunman was a reoccurring character who was friends with them. <Nightmare> Now. <Nightmare> This arc didn't have any hard lain structure. <Nightmare> It was basically going to go on until I could cram in all the cameos I promised everyone on ZV. <Nightmare> And until I got bored and ran out of ideas for stupid jokes and antics. <Nightmare> Would have basically been Nightmare, Neoforte, and Spex doing their best to not go crazy being stuck with RockRichard and Z-Kat while various ZV people made cameos whenever they'd go out and get into trouble. <Nightmare> With us occasionally cutting to Xero and Shaun, who were moreso wrecking the house even further, drinking together, playing guitar together, and generally dicking around while Amp wonders what the hell is going on. <Nightmare> The plan was for the arc to end with Reaver and Netzuko making a cameo. If anyone remembers Netto's comic, he and Reaver were part of some black ops squad working for the Maverick Hunters. Same deal here. They see Nightmare and try and capture him cause apparently they'd been ordered to. <Nightmare> Nightmare, Neoforte, and Spex fight them off, yay, then Xero calls Nightmare and tells him his house is ready. <Nightmare> The viewers wouldn't know what to expect cause they never saw Xero or Shaun do anything but dick around and break stuff. <Nightmare> But when Nightmare and Co. arrive the house is not only good as new, but better than new. <Nightmare> And this would have been an excuse to debut the revamp I'd made for Nightmare's house. Which was more or less the same thing but a lot more refined. <Nightmare> Nightmare is impressed, asked how the three of them managed to do all this in such a short amount of time, Xero, Shaun, and Amp don't reveal sh*t. Xero reminds Nightmare he owes him one now, and then the three of them f**k off, leaving Nightmare, Neoforte, and Spex in their fancy new house. <Nightmare> End Arc #5. * XeroBloodline knows how he fixed Nightmare's house. <Nightmare> So this is roughly the halfway point in the first part of Nightmare's story. <Nightmare> The next few arcs are more serious and largely focus on advancing Nightmare, Neoforte, and Spex's character arcs. <Nightmare> Culmunating into a big climactic arc that would change the dynamics of Nightmare's story drastically. <Nightmare> And ultimately lead us toward the role Audacity would play in the larger story. <Sorrum> was majeh a cameo character ever <Sorrum> or was he going to be one eventually <Nightmare> Not in the original story, no. But he was slated to basically replace Alpha (Netto's character) in the Aura Stone Arc. <Nightmare> Long story short, in the reboot Majeh would have been taking care of thieves at the Aura Stone mine, Spex would have shown up, and they would have mistaken each other for an enemy and fought. <Nightmare> And Majeh would have later teamed up with Neoforte to help get the Aura Stone Hopped Up Spex under control. <Nightmare> Thus writing Alpha out of the story. Since 1. Majeh was cooler than Alpha and 2. Netto didn't approve of Alpha's portrayal in my comic anyway. <Nightmare> Since Alpha is supposed to be ub3r l33t haxx0rz and I made him look... Not that... <XeroBloodline> Netto probably used those exact words too... <Nightmare> That's a real possibility at that time... <Swim> Where did Shaunman fit into your cannon? <Swim> Don't believe he was ever anything more than a cameo in comics. <Nightmare> Very loosely. He was basically just a guy Xero knew. He would have only appreared in that one story arc. <Nightmare> Shaunman used to make comics with my brother and sister actually. They posted them on Z-Kat's Domain, an old subsidiary of ZV owned by my brother, sister, and I. <Nightmare> In those comics, Shaunman was originally a human who got modified into a cyborg by an evil mad scientist called Dr.Crackers, and he ends up teaming up with RockRichard and Z-Kat in various misadventures where they try and locate and defeat their creators or some crap. <Nightmare> Details are kinda hazy and they never made that many comics. <Nightmare> And they're all long gone at this point. Eaten by numerous computer failures and Image host shutdowns. <Nightmare> In memory of comics. So sad. Bad day. I miss comics. <Swim> Dr... Crackers... <Nightmare> Yup. <Swim> Is not the worst name I've heard on here... <Nightmare> In any case, to answer Swim's question, I didn't have much plans for Shaunman. Honestly, the fifth story arc in my comic was basically just silliness and gratuitous cameos cause everybody and their mother wanted to cameo in my comic back in the day. <Nightmare> So I planned on just cramming all the ones I had no idea what to do with in the fifth arc where Nightmare, Neoforte, and Spex are out of the house for awhile and getting into shenanigans. <Swim> Myself included, yes. But I wondered if there was more with Shaunman. <Nightmare> Nah, he just had a more important role in that arc cause he was the one helping Xero fix my house after Renegade and I broke it. <Nightmare> Those two arcs were largely unimportant anyway. They basically served the purpose of cramming in cameos and making an excuse for me to show off Nightmare's refurbished house. <Nightmare> Which actually. <Nightmare> Let me upload that. <Nightmare> First of all. <Nightmare> Reacquaint yourselves with the original model. <Nightmare> i.imgur.com/hAcGbKw.png<Nightmare> This is the "Nightmare's House" seen in my comic. <Nightmare> And THIS: <Nightmare> i.imgur.com/EFSAetY.png<Nightmare> Is the remodel. <Nightmare> That Shaunman and Xero fixed up for us. <Nightmare> Or it would have been if I ever got that far. <XeroBloodline> I'ma nice guy like that and all. <Nightmare> Noticable things are some rooms have been axed, some hallways were added beyond the doors storing more rooms, the MMZ1 base basement no longer has crappy pixelization, and there's another elevator from the basement going to a platform on the patio. <Nightmare> Was way cooler when I was 14 than it is now. <Swim> Iris is still chained to the gumball machine I see. <Nightmare> Yeup. <Nightmare> For some reason.

Nightmare continues the would-be story of "NightmareMMZero Comics" by detailing the sixth story arc: The "Havoc" arc, detailing Nightmare and Spex's battle with a new foe born from their darkness.<Nightmare> A'IGHT EVERYONE <Nightmare> For formality's sake, I'm gonna clarify again that the things I'm talking about are storylines planned for my old sprite comic. These are dubiously canon at best considering I've drastically changed Nightmare's story since I laid all this out. We discussed the differences between the stories in a previous storytime. <Nightmare> The new story would have been used in a reboot of my comic that never got off the ground. But seeing as that reboot never actually got going, and it's not fleshed out in as much detail... <Nightmare> I'm going to be talking about what would have happened had I continued my comic from where I left off, as it was originally planned. <Nightmare> So brace yourselves for sh*tty 14 year old Purple writing. <Cem> Ohohoho yesss <Sorrum> its' gonna be gud <Nightmare> Now. <Nightmare> Super fast recap. <Nightmare> You can reread the end of the Aura Stone Arc on the forum. New stuff that I covered LAST storytime: <Nightmare> Xero and Renegade come over so Neoforte can repair the Soul Reaver, Renegade and Nightmare talk sh*t to each other, decide to have a sparring match. Fight gets out of control and they basically destroy Nightmare's house the rest of the way (it was already pretty f**ked up from the Hunter Invasion and Human Spex going bananas.) <Nightmare> So after that, Xero and ShaunmanX send Nightmare, Neoforte, and Spex away to live someplace else while they fix Nightmare's house. Hilarity ensues, and by the end, Nightmare and Neoforte and Spex have a nice new base to live in. <Nightmare> That's where we left off last time! <Nightmare> Now that we're all caught up. <Nightmare> Whaddaya say we move onto the next arcs after that stuff? <XeroBloodline> Go for it Purple man. <Nightmare> Alright. <Nightmare> Just to give some perspective... Nightmare's comic had three major parts originally planned for it, separated by timeskips, and each part was divided into multiple story arcs. <Nightmare> We're still in Part 1. And Part 1 had 10 planned Story Arcs. <Nightmare> 1. Prologue <Nightmare> 2. Hunter Invasion <Nightmare> 3. Aura Stone <Nightmare> 4. Renegade vs Nightmare <Nightmare> 5. Rennovations <Nightmare> I'm going to talk for a little bit and cover #6 and #7. Because they're (barely) connected and happen alongside each other. And either one by themselves is kinda short. <Nightmare> So after Nightmare, Neoforte, and Spex get their new place, things are pretty normal for awhile. <Nightmare> Nightmare is busy working on the computer almost constantly, being vague about getting close to figuring something out... <Nightmare> Neoforte is acting kind of anxious and has been really touchy and on-edge lately, and won't tell anyone what's going on. <Nightmare> And Spex is feeling kind of sick and is bored out of his mind. <Nightmare> But at least nobody's trying to kill them. <XeroBloodline> Why is everybody so edgy? You just kinda had a vacation. <Nightmare> Right? <Nightmare> Spex wonders the same thing. <Nightmare> He's constantly pestering Nightmare, who's kinda brushing him off cause he's busy. So he goes and bothers Neoforte, who snaps at him and tells him to piss off. <Nightmare> Spex is feeling kind of ill but is shrugging it off and figuring that if he doesn't act sick, he won't be sick. <Nightmare> Finally Neoforte comes to Nightmare and says he needs to speak with him. Nightmare is kind of like "I'm busy can it wait" and Neoforte tells him it can't, and demands a moment of his time. <Nightmare> Not used to Neoforte being so forceful, Nightmare relents and puts down his work for a minute. <Nightmare> Well. So forceful with him. Neoforte is kind of a hardass but he's always been really respectful and obedient to Nightmare, because he's a man of incredible work ethic. <Nightmare> So Nightmare figures if Neoforte is being this aggressive with him, something must be up. <Nightmare> Neoforte tells Nightmare that he needs some time off. Just a few days. Nightmare notes that this is kind of unlike Neoforte, and he and Spex both ask what's up, but Neoforte doesn't tell them any more than he's "going home for a few days". <Nightmare> Nightmare eventually decides to respect Neoforte's privacy and encourages Spex to stop pressing him for info, and tells Neoforte he can take off for as long as he needs. Neoforte thanks him, and he starts preparing to leave. <Nightmare> Now, breaking away for a second... <Nightmare> I was mulling over at this point giving Neoforte a haircut. Since I had some decent shorter hair sprited that I thought about slapping on him. <Nightmare> So there may have been a part where he cut his hair and dressed up a bit nicer while packing his crap and leaving. <Nightmare> But I wasn't sure about that since I do like him with the shoulder-length hair. <Nightmare> Just a bit of trivia. <Nightmare> i.imgur.com/HJtZb8s.png<Nightmare> For anyone curious, the old and new hair side-by-side. <Nightmare> If I did use the short hair. <Swim> He looks younger with shorter hair <Nightmare> He does kinda, yeah. <Nightmare> I kinda did change something else though. I dunno if you remember but I had some new Neoforte sprites way back when and they were going to basically be new armor that he'd debut in this story arc as well. <Nightmare> i.imgur.com/fsiHg3K.png<Nightmare> You can see the helmetless ones in the lower right corner. Long hair and short hair variants. <Nightmare> Anyway, back on track. <Nightmare> So Neoforte asks for some time off to "go home" for a few days. Nightmare gives it to him. Neoforte dons cool shiny new armor (and maybe gets a hair cut?) and then says bye to Nightmare and Spex, before hitting the road. <Nightmare> Now this is where Story Arcs #6 and #7 are connected. <Nightmare> Cause #6 focuses on what Nightmare and Spex were getting themselves into during this timeframe. <Nightmare> While #7 focuses on Neoforte. <Nightmare> So anyway, since we're still in #6, Neoforte leaves, Nightmare gets back to work, and Spex is now super bored and whiny. And Nightmare's getting sick of him cause now that Neoforte's gone Spex is exclusively bugging Nightmare. <Nightmare> Spex's complaining starts with him just whining that he's bored and that they should do something. Nightmare brushes him off, tells him there's plenty to do in the house. Then the whining becomes that he's not feeling well. Nightmare brushes him off, tell him to drink some tea and get some sleep. <Nightmare> And eventually Spex is bugging Nightmare saying he thinks he needs a doctor. Nightmare tells him to quit being a baby. And then Spex passes out and Nightmare starts to suspect that maybe Spex wasn't just being a baby. <Swim> Why is he brushing Spex off when the last arc revolved entirely around Spex losing his sh*t and breaking everything? <Swim> I wouldn't take chances with that guy anymore. <Nightmare> So Nightmare reluctantly drops what he was doing and takes Spex to the medbay and starts examining him. He hooks him up to a bunch of machine, starts scanning Spex's body trying to figure out what's up.... Long story short, he finds that maybe just putting all that dark enegy from Human Spex and the Black Aura Stone in a spectral lockbox in Spex's body wasn't such a good idea. <Nightmare> Nightmare kind of asks himself the same question Swim just did. <Nightmare> Basically, all that evil energy being in his body, whether it's sealed or not, is poisoning him and slowly eating away at him. <Nightmare> So now Nightmare's kind of faced with a complicated dilemma. If he opens that magical lockbox, Spex could go berserk again, and without Neoforte to help subdue him, Nightmare might get his ass kicked. But if he waits for Neoforte to come back (which is days away still, he has no idea when exactly Neoforte will be back) Spex could die. <Nightmare> Ultimately he decides to try and slowly bleed the energy from his body and shut down the source of the evil energy once it's all expelled. Long story short, this works for like a minute but then the energy starts pouring out of Spex at an alarming rate. <XeroBloodline> How, exactly? <XeroBloodline> I mean, how is he cyphening this energy out in a controlled manner? <XeroBloodline> Or trying to at least... <Nightmare> GOOD QUESTION <Nightmare> Pretty sure I was just going to bullsh*t something with a machine made for performing surgery on your spiritual body. Another fun piece of trivia was working out this arc kind of planted the seeds for what would eventually become the chi theory utilized in my comic's reboot. <Nightmare> And was prevalent in a lot of the ZV RPs. <Nightmare> Wish I had a cooler answer but at this phase of my comic's development the answer would have basically been "Because science, that's why." <Swim> We didn't used to question things. <XeroBloodline> Fair enough. I figured it would just be a machine similar to what you used to trap the energy in the first place. <Nightmare> Moving on though. Nightmare's trying to bleed the dark energy from Spex's body. It's pouring out way too fast. Nightmare gets bombarded with a lot of it but manages to hold his sh*t together long enough to finish the procedure. He drains the energy from Spex and put the seal back in place, so rather than the seal being locked but full of dark energy, it should be acting as a stopper keeping out any new dark energy. <Nightmare> The downside is now a lot of it is in Nightmare's body and it's reacting with the Nightmare Virus inside him. So by the time Spex comes to Nightmare's kind of on the verge of going Maverick himself and trying to keep his sh*t together. <Nightmare> Nightmare eventually snaps and he and Spex have to fight. Only this time Spex is the sane one trying to quell the situation and Nightmare's the one going bananas. <XeroBloodline> Yay role reversal. <XeroBloodline> Cat had it coming if you ask me... <Nightmare> At some point during the fight, Spex would have cut Nightmare in half-ish. Basically chopped him off from the chest up. Now if you remember when Nightmare got cut in half during the Hunter Invasion Arc, all that did was make both sides regenerate and then you had two Nightmares. <XeroBloodline> Oh no... <Nightmare> So Spex has kind of an "Aw crap" moment but it actually kind of works to his advantage. The smaller half regenerated and since most of it was fresh, he was a lot more stable. So he was kinda twitchy and angry for a minute, but eventually calmed his tits. <Nightmare> The other half, however... <Nightmare> The other half of Nightmare regenerated and basically lacked Nightmare's consciousness. It was just an angry mass of dark energy, an unholy guy thingytail of Nightmare Virus, Black Aura Stone energy, and Human Spex Satan Soul essence. It became something new entirely. <Nightmare> i.imgur.com/VfSUQHP.png<Nightmare> Enter this guy. <Nightmare> Who wouldn't have formally had a name but for ease of reference I had named "Havoc" in my notes. <Nightmare> Basically the remainder of Story Arc #6 would have been Nightmare and Spex vs Havoc. It wouldn't have been anything super special, just a long flashy fight done out over the course of a few long pages. Nightmare and Spex would have whipped out a badass team attack at the end to obliterate their foe, and then they finally relaxed. <Nightmare> They fixed up the house from the damage done by the fight (which thankfully wasn't super extensive since the fight would have gotten taken outside pretty quick) and they basically kick back just in time for Neoforte to come home. <Nightmare> <Nightmare> Oh hey, welcome back Neoforte. <Nightmare> <Neoforte> Thanks. Everything okay while I was gone? <Nightmare> <Nightmare> ... <Nightmare> <Spex> ... <Nightmare> <Nightmare> Yeah. How was your trip? <Nightmare> <Neoforte> ... <Nightmare> <Neoforte> Fine. <Nightmare> <Spex> Cool. <Nightmare> End scene. <Rick> sounds about right <XeroBloodline> And everyone was lying...I'm guessing anyway. <Nightmare> Boy how. <Nightmare> So. That took a little bit longer than expected. <Nightmare> I can continue, and cover Arc #7 and cover what Neoforte was up to during all this... But I'm going to take a break for a few first.

Part 3 of Xero's explanation of the "Heritage Foundation" arc in "Cursed Bloodlines", including the introduction of the Heritage leader, V'Raptor, and another commander, D'Ragnus. <XeroBloodline> Okay, so... <XeroBloodline> After Black Crescent and Razorblade, Cyber, Xero, Renegade, and Amp are all living in the house chilling, someone knocks on the door outside it's a guy named Cheetix. Cheetix is a commander in the Hertiage Foundation, a PMC on the other side of the galaxy that's wants Cyber and Xero to participate in some high level training to help prepare their new troops. <XeroBloodline> Short of it, Xero says no, Cheetix says he wasn't asking, tries to beat up Xero. Doesn't end well for Cheetix. <XeroBloodline> Cyber and Xero kick his ass quite quickly, turns out Cheetix is an android, as are all Heritage soldiers. <XeroBloodline> They kill/blow up Cheetix, and uncharacteristically Xero decides to not wait around for them to attack again, but to go to the other side of the galaxy and hunt these guys down. Conveniently Amp has built a new spaceship in his basement for the crew to use, so they hop in the ship, take the wormhole I made up for plot convenience to the other side of the galaxy, and begin their search. <XeroBloodline> Also, Amp's not in a robot dog body anymore, he took the Heart Armor, the one Cyber used, and made himself a Reploid body out of it. <XeroBloodline> Their first stop is in Bolaris, the same star system Cyber was in a few months ago fighting Razor, but on a different planet from where the fight happened. <XeroBloodline> Cyber talks them into going to a club in one of the cities because might as well have fun on this trip too. Cyber meets a girl named Melanie, they talk all night, Rene gets shot down by every girl in the club, and Xero decides to enter the guitar solo competition that just HAPPENS to be happening that very night. <XeroBloodline> In the middle of his guitar solo, the sh*t hits the fan and Heritage soldiers storm the club. Xero starts kicking ass while Rene evacuates people, and Cyber's run off with Melanie to save her, but gets blindsided by another Heritage commander, Steagos. <XeroBloodline> Steagos and Cyber duke it out for a while til Xero and Rene shows up, but Steagos bails so he doesn't have to fight a 3 on 1 battle. Xero and company flee cause they're still trying to keep a low profile and the authorities are on the way, but Melanie's unconscious from the sneak attack by Steagos so they bring her with them back to the ship. <XeroBloodline> They leave Bolaris, convince Melanie she's being rescued not kidnapped, and that's basically where we left off. Any questions? <Renegade> That sounds caught up i believe <Renegade> One question <Renegade> How many girls rejected rene? <XeroBloodline> All of them. <Nightmare> Every single girl. <Renegade> Thats a lot. <XeroBloodline> You're still new at this. Remember, you're like 18 or so at this point in the comic, remember? <Renegade> Right <XeroBloodline> So yeah, we now have Cyber, Xero, Renegade, Amp, and our newest addition Melanie all on the ship out looking for the Heritage Foundation. Which seems to be better at finding them. <XeroBloodline> So even though they just got to this part of space, Amp suggests laying low somewhere for a few days to get their bearings and come up with an actual plan. Since Cyber is the only one who's spent time in this part of the galaxy, he luckily has a suggestion. <XeroBloodline> They head for the planet Mairborn. Which, if you remember, was the planet where Cyber and Razor were marooned when they discovered they were clones. <XeroBloodline> Razorblade wiped out the bad guys there way back in the day, but the planet was never used for anything so Cyber's fairly confident it's still uninhabited, and a nice place to lay low and formulate a plan. <XeroBloodline> So they make their way to Mairborn, land, and take a few minutes to breathe. <XeroBloodline> This whole time Amp's a little unsettled at how outdated his information is. I've explained this before, but in my canon Earth is on the other side of the galaxy from all of this, only accessable through a wormhole called the Bolaris Shortcut. <XeroBloodline> People come and go to Earth commonly enough, but Earth is kinda considered totally neutral, off limits, and out of bounds to the governments of this part of space. <XeroBloodline> And Earth kinda likes it that way, since the last expedition they sent over to this part of the galaxy ended...badly. <XeroBloodline> But, we'll cover that another day...=) <Nightmare> Dang. <XeroBloodline> But anyway, this means Amp isn't really as up to date on info about this part of space as he'd like, and Cyber's info is at least 5+ years out of date by now and even then somewhat limited. <XeroBloodline> Melanie chimes in saying she's always heard rumors about this underground news circuit primarily used by bounty hunters and such. Kind of like an unofficial guild newsletter to keep each other in the loop about bounties, government secrets, just about anything. <XeroBloodline> Of course Xero's curious why a seeminly normal girl would know anything about this, but Melanie explains it's like an urban legend, she's not even sure it exists. <XeroBloodline> Cyber believes her because one, he's kinda enamored with her, and two he vaguely remembers the rumors as well. But since he was part of an official military group, secret intel like that wasn't exactly hard to come by. <XeroBloodline> Anyway, to cut this part short Amp decides to poke around the net and eventually hacks his way into the BHN, the Bounty Hunter Network. <XeroBloodline> This network has all kinds of information on it, including high level bounties, black market deals, government secrets and just general news and gossip from literally all over this part of space. <XeroBloodline> Some more noteworthy pieces are about the Heritage Foundation, and the rumor that they're not privately funded, but secretly funded by the Alliance, the biggest governing body in the galaxy, to be used as an unofficial branch of their military to do the dirty work they're legally not allowed to do. <XeroBloodline> There's also alot of information on this group called Crevalice, it's a small group of planets that want to succede from the Alliance because of typical political bullsh*t, never fully ironed that out but you can use your imaginations. <XeroBloodline> Anyway, while poking around the BHN they figure out, believe it or not, the Heritage have a secret base not far from Mairborn, and it's still being constructed so security isn't very heavy. <XeroBloodline> After alot of deliberation, Xero's on board with attacking the base and trying to capture some Heritage guys, just to get some first hand information about this group. <XeroBloodline> However, both Cyber and Xero fully agree they can't go off to a fight like this with Melanie on board. She's innocent in all this, has no stake in this whatsoever, and they can't risk putting her in harm's way. <XeroBloodline> But Melanie is fairly persisant that she wants to stay. She and Cyber have grown closer every day, and she's starting to fall for him too. Rather sudden, yes, and everybody in the group is thinking the same thing without speaking to one another. Unfortunately Cyber's still not thinking straight because pretty girl likes him, so he caves and tells her she can stay. <XeroBloodline> Xero hates this because it's an innocent person in the way, and a distraction for Cyber. Amp hates it because it's an unknown factor on his ship, and Amp clearly likes to know everything if you haven't noticed. Rene's jealous, but he thinks Melanie's cool so he's kinda okay with it. <Nightmare> lawl <Renegade> Sounds right <XeroBloodline> So they head for the secret Heritage base, manage to land on the planet without being detected, Xero Cyber and Amp go out this time, leaving Rene to guard the ship and keep an eye on Melanie. <XeroBloodline> They sneak over to the base, but as luck would have it they came on an interesting day. The base is actually a factory for producing Heritage soldiers, remember they're all androids, even the commanders, and it's closer to completion than they thought. <XeroBloodline> And an inspection team sent by the Heritage Council is there to speed up completion and get new troops rolling off the assembly lines. <XeroBloodline> While this does pose a greater risk since security is a little tighter, it does present a better opportunity to capture a high ranking official and get some better information. <XeroBloodline> So despite the added danger, Xero Cyber and Amp decide to risk it. The plan is for Cyber to cause a diversion, Xero to plow through whatever defenses are left, and Amp to seize and capture the first high ranking official they can find. <XeroBloodline> They spend a few minutes spying on the facility trying to pick out a target, and Amp picks one out. A man in a well dressed suit, with platinum blond hair slicked back, but still kinda spikey and straight back. <XeroBloodline> And he's only really constantly guarded by one person... <XeroBloodline> Cheetix. <XeroBloodline> The gang is naturally confused by this, they already killed Cheetix. But, being androids, they concede it's possible they've already built a new one to replace the old one. Which Xero's relatively okay with, they killed the last one this one can't be that much harder, right? <XeroBloodline> Plus, Xero's ready for a fight this time, should be no contest. <XeroBloodline> So, they spring into action. Cyber skirts around to the front of the facility and begins an assault on the main gate. The guards there are nothing, and the Heritage soldiers start attacking but they're no match for a Bloodline on his game. <XeroBloodline> Eventually the distraction works and Cheetix and the Heritage official are left alone on the other side of the factory. Xero and Amp bust in through a loading door, and move quickly to dispatch Cheetix and grab the official. <XeroBloodline> Cheetix turns around just in time to get sucker punched just like he did to Xero in their first encounter, sending Cheetix flying across the room. <XeroBloodline> Amp tries to grab the official, but he breaks away, kicks Amp in the chest, and sends him flying across the room even faster than Cheetix just flew. <XeroBloodline> Cheetix gets up and grins, comments on how good it is to see Xero again, and how he clearly accepted his invitation after all. <Nightmare> Guess he's not just a rich guy looking to be cool by making android soldiers. <XeroBloodline> And oh no, this guy is much worse than that... <XeroBloodline> He rips off his fancy suit, and is wearing a silver Heritage exoskeleton, but with a little more armor pieces and flare. Small spikes on the knees, smaller blade like protusious from the elbow, shoulder pads, stuff like that. <XeroBloodline> This isn't the 3rd Heritage commander, this is the Heritage Commander, the leader of the entire military division. <XeroBloodline> This is V'Raptor. <XeroBloodline> V'Raptor proudly introduces himself, and says how pleased he is to meet the "Legendary Bloody Nightmare" in person. He compliments Xero on being so bold to attack his brand new reproduction facility, and how glad he is that he chose this day to come inspect it himself. <XeroBloodline> Xero looks back to Cheetix and notices what's behind him, in the rubble where he landed. It's more Cheetix bodies. V'Raptor notices and explains to Xero that, yes, he meant reproduction... <XeroBloodline> See, the Heritage soldiers keep their memory banks constantly linked to a hive computer at their main base, and everytime they fight data is transmitted back to this computer to analyze and improve a soldier's abilities. And everytime a soldier is destroyed, this data is transmitted into the next body, so all their experience and training is instantly updated. <XeroBloodline> This goes for the Commanders too. So short version, everytime they fight, they learn, and it's saved on a computer. If you kill them, they come back stronger, and smarter. <XeroBloodline> This facility was to be the newest factory for producing these bodies. <XeroBloodline> Now you get what Cheetix meant way back when he said he wasn't properly prepared to face Xero. He was actually programmed to fight Cyber based on past data from the Razorblade project. <XeroBloodline> And Steagos was programmed to actually fight Xero one on one, but when he saw Cyber alone he took his opportunity. But he wasn't programmed to be able to handle three distinct fighting styles at once, so that's why he bailed. <XeroBloodline> Anyway, after some more expository banter where V'Raptor explains most of what I just said to Xero and Amp, it's finally time to fight, but by now Cyber's cut through the facility and has joined the fray. <XeroBloodline> Cheetix is actually pleased to see this since he's primarily tuned as a speed fighter, so he'd do better against Cyber than Xero anyway, so after some witty banter about how Cyber's gonna cut him in half again, those two decide to duke it out, leaving Xero and Amp to contend with V'Raptor. <XeroBloodline> Xero backs up to regroup with Amp, then tells him after the fight starts to break off and start sabotaging the facility, rigging it to blow. While their plan wasn't 100% successful, they did learn more about the Heritage Foundation, and first things first they can't let them keep creating more bodies. <XeroBloodline> Xero goes after V'Raptor, and is suprised to see they're evenly matched for the most part. I never had this fight fully planned out, but this would be the first time a Heritage soldier actually stood toe to toe with a Bloodline, posing the first real challenge in their fights. <Nightmare> aside from the two previous suckerpunches. <XeroBloodline> Well yeah, but those were cheap shots. V'Raptor's fighting straight up. <XeroBloodline> In the meantime, Cyber and Cheetix's fight has spilled outside, and while Cheetix's speed is impressive, Cyber's agility and dexterity makes it easy for him to dodge around Cheetix and counter attack, giving him the upper hand. <XeroBloodline> Again, not fully planned out, but eventually Cyber would get the upper hand and take out Cheetix, again, where Cheetix would offer another cryptic message as he's dying. <XeroBloodline> This one conveying how Cheetix isn't the best opponent for Cyber anyway. There's one better tuned to handle Cyber's fighting style, and that Cyber should be on the lookout for Swanstice. <Jet> V'Raptor and Steagos, I was going to ask if all of these guys had dinsosaur themed names, but Cheetix. So, Beast Wars? <Jet> Now Swanstice, so that doesn't fit either. <Nightmare> I just assumed they'd all be animals. <XeroBloodline> They're all named after random animals, yeah. <XeroBloodline> No real specific theme to it outside of that. <XeroBloodline> Honestly, I came up with the archtype characters and what I wanted them to be, then named them accordingly. <XeroBloodline> I wanted a speed guy, so I named him after a cheetah. I wanted a powerhouse, so I named him after a dinosaur. <XeroBloodline> V'Raptor's probably the only one that had a name before a character, and that's just because I like the name. <XeroBloodline> But you can see it's shaping up that the Heritage commanders all have specific skills and combat styles they accel at. Which will be better unveiled as time passes. <XeroBloodline> Back inside, Xero and V'Raptor are still trading blows, neither one really getting an edge on the other, but by now Amp's rigging the facility and is ready to blow it up. <XeroBloodline> Xero gives him the go ahead, and the place starts exploding around them. Xero and V'Raptor get separated by some debris, and have one mini-epic staredown, both signaling that their fight is far from over. <XeroBloodline> Yeah, he's not the main bad guy at all guys, no of course not... <XeroBloodline> From there they head back to the ship, which has miraculously gone undiscovered through all of this, and they carefully make their escape from the planet, again miraculoulsy not detected by the Heritage ships in orbit. <XeroBloodline> Anyway, one last thing I wanna cover real quick, moreso to setup for next time, but it'll make things easier overall. <XeroBloodline> Basically the whole middle part of this arc I never fully had fleshed out. I had things I wanted to happen, just not sure how or when they would have specifically fit. So I just kinda wanna cover those things very quickly and they can be a jumbled mess in your heads too. <XeroBloodline> One thing is the constant on and off battle between Xero and V'Raptor. During their adventures through space trying to find the Heritage, they'd run into V'Raptor on more than one occasion. <XeroBloodline> And everytime after their first encounter, Xero would either defeat or out right destroy V'Raptor. And this would consume him. <XeroBloodline> Since Heritage are rebuilt supposively stronger and smarter, there's no reason why V'Raptor shouldn't be able to eventually beat Xero, but no matter what everytime they fight Xero pulls out more and more power and manages to beat him every time. Eventually this would drive V'Raptor crazy, but you wouldn't see evidence of this til the very end of the arc, which I do have planned out in great detail. <XeroBloodline> Another thing is the 2nd fight with Steagos and Cyber. They would have been caught alone on a planet somewhere, where Steagos claims since he's built for power and defense Cyber doesn't stand a chance, he's physically just not strong enough to stand up to him. <XeroBloodline> The first half of the fight would have gone like that, til Steagos started bragging too much, where Cyber would kinda change gears and actually start fighting more like Xero, less dodging and weaving and more standing your ground and punching the hell out of things. <XeroBloodline> I even toyed with the fact of letting Cyber pull off a Shatter Force during this fight. <Nightmare> Hax. <XeroBloodline> But remember, Cyber's still got all that power he got from Razor, and throughout the arc he would eventually learn to tap into that power and overall get stronger. I imagine this would have been a good time for him to pull out Lancer for the first time to kill Steagos. <XeroBloodline> The third thing I would cover would naturally be the 3rd Heritage commander. Which I hate glossing over a major boss character but again I never fully knew how or when to introduce him. <XeroBloodline> This would be D'Ragnus. His schtick would have been energy based attacks. <Nightmare> What's he look like? <XeroBloodline> D'Ragnus is physically taller than average, wears a yellowish gold exoskeleton, has blonde hair and a Chinese-style man bun. <XeroBloodline> Eventually he would feud with Amp, but most of his encounters would have been against the team in its entirety. He's also the Heritage commander who would have been destroyed the least amount of times. <Sorrum> I thought the third guy was Swanstice <XeroBloodline> Swanstice wouldn't be properly introduced at this point, only alluded to. <XeroBloodline> Up until the next part I'll cover in story time, you will have only seen Cheetix, Steagos, V'Raptor, and D'Ragnus. <XeroBloodline> The only other thing that would have been constantly referenced is the separatist movement, Crevalice. <Nightmare> The guys looking to secede from the alliance? <XeroBloodline> In the course of their adventure Xero and company would constantly hear news of Crevalice's growing support and diplomatic talks to break away from the Alliance, all proceeding peacefully. <XeroBloodline> So, all of that would have happened up to the next big point, which I will cover next time. Like I said, alot of stuff I wanted to happen, just never had a specific order of events for it. <XeroBloodline> Any questions there? <Nightmare> I guess not. Anything I could ask would probably fall into the "Never straightened it out" territory. <Nightmare> Covered all the important stuff I think. <Renegade> Stuff with melanie happen later? <XeroBloodline> Melanie's pretty much adopted into the group at this point. She and Cyber keep getting close and eventually get to the point of being in a relationship. <XeroBloodline> Speaking of Melanie... <XeroBloodline> This wasn't covered because of the whole "we're kidnapping her now" change we made last time, but turns out Melanie has some hidden talents. <XeroBloodline> While she's no super fighter like the rest of the group, she does know basic martial arts and after some training through this voyage can hold her own with a standard Heritage soldier. <XeroBloodline> She tends to fight more in Cyber's style, since he's the one training her because duh. <XeroBloodline> She's also decent with computers, and eventually takes over Rene's job handling the communications part of the ship. <XeroBloodline> Anyway, I've rambled enough, I think I've covered everything I wanted to today. <Renegade> Cant believe i get replaced with a hot chick <XeroBloodline> Don't worry Rene, you've got cool stuff happening next time.

Nightmare continues the would-be story of "NightmareMMZero Comics" by detailing the seventh story arc: The "Sasake Village" arc, showing Neoforte's hometown, foreshadowing some heavy things in Neoforte's past, as well as a fierce battle between Neoforte and two cronies of his village's headman.* XeroBloodline tosses Nightmare the mic. * Nightmare catches it and strikes a pose. <Nightmare> TO RECAP <Nightmare> Following the renovations story arc, Nightmare was busy with his work, Spex was bored and feeling kinda sick, and Neoforte was on edge for some unknown reason. <Nightmare> Finally Neoforte demanded a moment of Nightmare's time and asked for some time off. <Nightmare> Nightmare thought it was a little weird that Neoforte would not only ask for time off (first time he had since he came aboard) but also that he would be so adamant about it and aggressive in getting his attention. <Nightmare> Nightmare grants Neoforte as much time as he needs, so Neoforte starts packing his crap. <Nightmare> Now at this point in Story Arc #6, Neoforte says bye and leaves, and Nightmare and Spex are left to their own devices, which becomes the Havoc Arc. After which Neoforte returns home and all three act like everything's completely normal. <Nightmare> In Story Arc #7, we find out what Neoforte was up to. <Nightmare> So we join Neoforte, who's headed from Nightmare's offshore base to the mainland. He heads to a mountain range south of East City called the Runic Mountains and makes his way up a forested path into the heights of the mountains. <Nightmare> There we arrive in Sasake Village. Which was very briefly mentioned in my comic, and is prevalent in some of the ZV RPs, so many of you might know this is Neoforte's hometown. He really did go home. <Nightmare> Though this isn't where Neoforte's been living. That much becomes obvious shortly after he arrives. <Nightmare> Now to set the stage a bit, Sasake Village is kinda old timey and when it comes to technology and crap, way behind the times. Like early 1800s levels of development, which is in stark contrast to the rest of the setting. It looks kind of like an early 19th century Asian settlement. <Nightmare> It's also secluded, surrounded by natural mountain walls and cut off from the rest of the world. <Nightmare> This is all intentional, because the people of Sasake Village are primarily Sohei. That is, Warrior Monks. They cut themselves off from the world and don't rely on modern technology to focus on strengthening their minds and bodies and crap. <Nightmare> And is also the reason why Neoforte is not really shown to be tech saavy and is even kind of oblivious to normal things (or not really noticing weird things cause to him everything is weird.) <Nightmare> Of course this side of Neoforte isn't strongly accented in the original comic cause he's more of a strong and silent type, but it would have been more explicit in the reboot of my comic just to help drive this stuff home. <Nightmare> Anyway. <Nightmare> Neoforte comes back to Sasake Village and he receives kind of a mixed welcome. Some people seem kind of uncomfortable about his presence and try to ignore him or awkwardly pretend they don't see him. Some people are very happy to see him, but they kind of try to be lowkey about it. <Nightmare> Like faces lighting up and being like "Eyyy Neoforte!" then catching themselves and acting more restrained and greeting him more quietly. <Nightmare> A lot of the greetings include asking him where he's been and if he's okay, and assuring him that the headman is out of town, like that means something positive to him. <Nightmare> All throughout this visit there's a lot of kind of hushed allusions and cryptic references to crap that's not fully explained. <Nightmare> But in any case Neoforte makes a beeline for a big estate near the southern edge of the village, opposite to the northern entrance. <Nightmare> Specifically a smaller building off to the side of that estate. Here we meet Neoforte's mother. Who for the life of me I can't remember the name of, and I even dug through old notes prior to this to find it, but I can't. <Nightmare> I could swear I did name her, but I don't know. Maybe I'm dumb and just thought I did. <XeroBloodline> If it helps, after all this time, I've never named Cyber and Xero's mom. So it's okay for her just to be "mom." <Nightmare> Fair enough. <Nightmare> Neoforte's mother though is an old woman with long greying hair. It looks like a diluted magenta color kind of, like she had pink hair in her youth (spoilers: Cause she did.) She's kinda frail and is overjoyed to see Neoforte. They have some normal banter like "How are you doing? Are you healthy? Make sure you take care of yourself blah blah blah" <Nightmare> And then she alludes to a ritual of some kind, asking if Neoforte is ready for it or not. He confirms that he is, and the two of them leave the house. We then get some conversation between the two of them and some other villagers that gives us some exposition which I'll just explain now. <Nightmare> Sasake Village has a weird spring that they've built a shrine around. Some weird mystic power in the water allows spiritual energy to imprint on it. There are also mines going into the mountains around Sasake Village that contain crystalline minerals that have similar weird mystic powers. <Nightmare> Some bullsh*t about a sacred mountain, whatever. <Nightmare> The crystals mined from the mountains have the same kinda power. They think there's a sh*t ton of them crystals in an underground cavern where the sacred spring is coming up from, giving it its power. <Nightmare> This is relevant because the high priests use the crystals and the spring to preserve the consciousness of the most important people in Sasake Village, because talking to your ancestors and relying on their wisdom is super important to these jerks. <Nightmare> They basically dunk you in the spring and the water imprints your spiritual energy onto itself. They then take one of the crystals from the mines and submerge it in the water and the crystal more or less soaks up that imprinted spiritual energy. <Nightmare> Basically your soul gets copy/pasted onto the crystal, is the end result. Though it's not a literal soul but more of a recording of it. If that makes any f**king sense. <Nightmare> To be honest all this sh*t gets retconned or reworked to hell and back in the reboot so bear with me on this one. <Nightmare> In this exposition we find out that Neoforte is the son of the previous headman of the village, Geokan Kazemaru, who's now desceased. Which is why Neoforte is expected to participate in this ritual. <Nightmare> It's a yearly thing, usually on the anniversary of your birth they dunk you in the spring and update your crystal. Basically come home and save on your birthday, that way when you die you'll lose like a year of progress at most. <Nightmare> They do this because then someone needing advice can just toss the crystal belonging to a wise ancestor into the spring when the water is fresh, and the water will soak up the spiritual energy in the crystal and imprint on it. Then you can have a Mufasa cloud conversation with your ancestors by looking in the reflection of the spirit spring. <Nightmare> And this is considered super important to leaders of the village when making huge decisions. Gotta get approval from the dead guys. <Jet> So is Neoforte like the new village leader and he's f**king around being someone's body guard? Or is the leader elected and not inherited? <Nightmare> No, Neoforte isn't the headman. The position is... Kind of both of what you said, really. The Headman typically names a successor. This can be a son or other family member, or it could not be. And then the elders (the leaders of the important clans in the village) vote yay or nay. <Nightmare> And if you get 2/3 majority you're the leader. <Nightmare> And the fact that Neoforte wasn't named the successor by his father is alluded to and is the source of a lot of tension in the village, not just on Neoforte's part. A lot of villagers seemed like they wanted Neoforte for the part. <Nightmare> There's also a lot of implied tension between Neoforte and the current headman, though I intentionally would have danced around this in the comic, to make it more mysterious... We're not ready to know everything about Neoforte's past just yet. <Nightmare> But the implication is that for some reason Neoforte isn't welcome in the village (whether that's a hard rule or he just doesn't feel welcome is left up in the air at this point) and that the only reason he felt comfortable showing his face was because this is a sacred ritual not even the headman would dare interfere with. <Nightmare> Anyway. <Nightmare> We meet a few important-ish side characters in this arc. Neoforte's mother obviously, who accompanies him to the ritual and stuff. Aida Adora, a girl who was at one point good friends with Neoforte and is the daughter of one of the elders, she's happy to see him. <Jet> What about the family of that little girl he killed? <Nightmare> Heh. <Nightmare> We also meet Orlena Orlov. Who is quite a bit less happy to see Neoforte. She's one of the elders. And also Nadia's grandma. <Jet> Yeah. <Nightmare> She's aware that Nadia died in a fight Neoforte was involved in and is pretty bitter about it. Extra salty cause that girl was supposed to be the heir to the clan. <Nightmare> Another key player we meet is a gal named Gracia. Her and Neoforte have some time alone and they talk for a bit. They're revealed to have a history in that they allude to the fact that she was the sister of Neoforte's best friend, who apparently died doing something "brave and foolish" with Neoforte some time ago. <Nightmare> Again, we're kept in the dark about details at this point. <Nightmare> But there seems to be some chemistry there. * Nightmare eyebrows. <Bloodbane> ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) <--- this kind? <Nightmare> Something like that. <Nightmare> But anyway. The first part of this arc more or less follows Neoforte as he returns to the village, talks to his mom, does the ritual, runs into a few other people, and then we more or less skim over him staying the night and leaving at dawn the next morning, wanting to gtfo as fast as he can and not stay any longer than he had to. <Nightmare> Notably to be on the road before the headman returned to the village. <Nightmare> The last act of this arc has Neoforte, while on his way out of the village and out of the Runic Mountain Range, run into a couple of troublemakers. <Nightmare> Dun dun duuuunnnn~! <Nightmare> Now the exact deal with these two have varied dramaaaaatically over various drafts of the story. At one point they were bitter dudes banished from Sasake Village. At one point they were just a couple of random hooligans. At one point they were f**king aliens looking to take over Earth... <Nightmare> So let's go with the most recent draft I can remember, in that they were cronies of the Headman sent to fudge Neoforte up. Knowing that it'd reflect badly on him if he beat Neoforte's ass himself, especially when Neoforte was returning to the village for a sacred ritual, he instead had a couple of assholes jump Neoforte on his way out. <Nightmare> These two were a pair of siblings, though you couldn't tell because they were basically polar opposites. The Brother was huge, lumbering, dumb, and stupidly strong. The Sister was small, petite, calculating, and while physically unimposing, was an extravagant mage. <Nightmare> In the reboot the brother would have worn thick, heavy black and green armor with a huge gas mask and visor that covered his entire face, and wielded a weird weapon that was basically a glaive blade with a short, two-foot long handle. The sister would have worn a pink and purple tight-fitting bodysuit with a cute face, long blue hair, and a similar (but smaller) weapon. <Nightmare> But I never drew or sprited them in their "canon" designs so you'll have to live with the sh*tty recolors I was gonna use in the original comic. <Nightmare> i.imgur.com/UXMBz4Q.png<XeroBloodline> Green Dynamo is best Dynamo. <Nightmare> Isn't he? <Nightmare> Sh*tty recolors aside, these two are Shiizemaru and Mietzumaru. They would have shown up and been like "Hey bitch." And gotten in Neoforte's sh*t. <Nightmare> Neoforte doesn't want anything to do with their asses but they're pretty persistent. So Neoforte is forced to fight them. At first he's getting his ass handed to him, too. Shiizemaru is stupidly strong, able to easily overpower Neoforte in brute strength and even punch right through his energy shields. And as soon as he tries to back off and use energy attacks, Mietzumaru is in his face and returning fire just as hard. <Nightmare> So Neoforte decides to back off and try and hide in the woods. Make something of a tactical retreat. The two of them try and find him and even split up to cover more ground. Which is what Neoforte was hoping they'd do. <Nightmare> So he basically starts ambushing each of them one at a time, attack one of them, lure them further away from the other, then disappear. <Nightmare> Then show up and hit and run the other asshole and lure them farther away still. <Nightmare> Finally he makes a (what'll turn out to be poor) judgment call and decides that Shiizemaru may be strong, but he's slow and stupid and hasn't shown as much talent with energy attacks, so Mietzumaru is the bigger threat. He ambushes Mietzumaru and, in a one on one, Neoforte has a pretty solid upperhand. <Nightmare> The commotion of the fight draws Shiizemaru, but again, slow and dumb... So that gives Neoforte plenty of time to work his magic. Big bro shows up just in time to see Neoforte waste little sis with an energy blast... <Nightmare> And Shiizemaru goes bananas. In his blind rage he becomes a much huger threat than Neoforte anticipated. He's now even stronger than he was before, but also a lot faster (fast enough to keep up with if not outspeed Neoforte) and though he may still be dumb, he's more or less just a ball of rage and is wrecking everything between him and Neoforte. <Nightmare> And then wrecking Neoforte. He's getting his ass kicked again all of a sudden. <XeroBloodline> Silly Neoforte. You always beat up duel bosses at the same pace.... <XeroBloodline> If you kill one and leave the other one it always gets stronger. <Nightmare> Right? <Nightmare> A lesson learned. <Nightmare> Anyway so Neoforte at this point is trying to find a place to lay low and catch his breath. He's pretty banged up and bloodied at this point, and while he's hiding, Shiizemaru is tearing the mountainside up going ballistic trying to find Neoforte's sorry ass. <Nightmare> It's at this point we're introduced to Neoforte's ultimate technique. Something we unfortuntely never got to see in the comic, but has been seen in BattleBob and the Carnivals at least... <Nightmare> We're treated to some flashback scenes actually showing us Neoforte's father, as well as some of Neoforte's own inner thoughts, revealing that each clan in Sasake Village has a powerful, signature technique that's unique to their clan, and that the techniques are kind of worshipped and treated like Gods because of some belief that the powers are granted to them by Gods or whatever. <Nightmare> We saw the Orlov Clan's in action. They have the ability to manipulate spiritual energy, the magnum opus of this technique being the Azi Draharikoh. * XeroBloodline instantly hears Otherworld in his head. <Nightmare> Neoforte recalls learning his from his father. The Raiden Technique, which is a unique form of energy manipulation. It's basically so heavily concentrated and so carefully controlled that each particle of energy has to be individually controlled and they all have to flow perfectly spaced apart at just the right speed, in perfect harmony... <Nightmare> The result of this energy is the energy flows with such perfect control that the energy particles can basically just slip in between the atoms making up masses of matter and sweep them away in their flow, severing anything it comes into contact with at a molecular level. <Nightmare> It gets is name from the fact that while the energy at the center of this mass of energy is perfectly controlled, the edges of the energy mass are thinner and lash out wildly, making it look like lightning bolts are dancing off the edges of the energy mass. <Nightmare> Just for clarity, this technique is NOT actually lightning elemental. It just looks that way. But I digress... <Nightmare> The downside to this technique is the stress put on the body to force this level of control is immense, using it could leave you exhausted or even with stress-induced injuries like ulcers and stuff like that. When Neoforte was first mastering this technique he'd often stop and cough up blood cause of it. <Nightmare> Now the thing is the Raiden Technique is just the act of forming and maintaining that raw, super-controlled energy. Each generation of the Kazemaru Clan is responsible for deriving their own derivative technique utilizing this energy. <Nightmare> This offshoot technique is referred to as the individual's own Raiden. <Nightmare> So we see Neoforte's Raiden at last, after all this exposition cutting in and out of him straining and forming this energy. <Nightmare> Based on the invisible energy claw technique Neoforte showed off in his first fight with Aura Stone Spex, Neoforte extends a long, invisible blade from his middle and index finger and feeds the Raiden energy into it, pretty much turning his two fingers into a long, crackling lightning sword that can cut whatever the hell he wants. <Nightmare> The Raikoken. <XeroBloodline> =D <Nightmare> Now as I said before, maintaining this energy is a bitch and a half and puts a lot of strain on the body, and Neoforte's already had his sh*t wrecked until now. So he figures he's got one shot that he has to take right the hell now. <Nightmare> <Nightmare> So we basically get that. <Nightmare> Neoforte jumps out, calls out to Shiizemaru. The idiot is a pissed off hulking mass of muscle moving fast and making a mad dash for Neoforte. <Nightmare> Neoforte makes a mad dash as well. Swings his Raikoken as he rushes by him. <Nightmare> Cuts Shiizemaru clean in half. <XeroBloodline> Yay Raikoken. <Nightmare> Shiizemaru falls in half, Neoforte dispels the Raikoken and collapses. <Nightmare> Takes a bit of a breather, and then continues heading home in case more cronies show up. <Nightmare> We're treated to a montage of Neoforte staying the night somewhere else, cleaning himself up, and then coming home to Nightmare's place. <Nightmare> <Nightmare> Oh hey Neoforte, welcome back. <Nightmare> <Neoforte> Thanks. Everything okay while I was gone? <Nightmare> <Nightmare> ... <Nightmare> <Spex> ... <Nightmare> <Nightmare> Yeah. How as your trip? <Nightmare> <Neoforte> ... <Nightmare> <Neoforte> Fine. <Nightmare> <Spex> Cool. <Nightmare> End scene. (Again.) <Nightmare> So that wraps up Story Arc #7. <Nightmare> As you can see, Nightmare and Spex got into trouble. Neoforte got into trouble. All in all they're all glad to be home and not in trouble. <Nightmare> Which doesn't last long (naturally.) <Nightmare> So we're up to 7 out of 10 Story Arcs in the first part of my comic's story. <Nightmare> Now I should say that. <Nightmare> Story Arcs #8 and #9 are both incredibly dumb. And also both kinda short. <Nightmare> But Story Arc #10 is a big one. Huge climax. Answers a lot of questions. Epic battle. <Nightmare> Buuuut we'll get to those another time. <XeroBloodline> That makes sense though. Nice little back story stuff, silly stuff, then epic stuff. It sounds like a nice flow. <Renegade> I like it <Nightmare> Any questions or comments on either the Havoc Arc or the Sasake Village Arc? <Jet> Why does everyone else in Sasake Villiage have traditional sounding names and Neoforte is... Neoforte? <Jet> Was he adopted? Is that why he didn't get to be Headman? <Nightmare> Heh. <Nightmare> Well. The short and more accurate answer is: I was 14. <Nightmare> The bullsh*tted answer that I came up with later to justify it is: Neoforte's clan uses a lot of common parts to make up their names. Not going to go into it in excrutiating detail because it really doesn't matter, but that's just how his name ended up. <Nightmare> You'll notice trends in members of his family's names. But Neoforte's ancestors and other relatives is a subject that'll come up later. <Jet> So he hasn't got a more traditional sounding name then? I figured you'd rework Neoforte into sort of his contract name for working merc/bodyguard jobs so it'd be harder to trace his past. <Nightmare> No. Neoforte is actually his name. <Nightmare> Even going as far as the most recent draft. <Nightmare> I admit it's kind of weird but I think I'd feel even weirder about renaming him. <Nightmare> So I'm more likely to justify the naming in universe than to give him another name. <Jet> And is that the end of the Havoc and Spex going mad arcs? <Nightmare> Havoc was vanquished at the end of the arc he was born in, so he's not an issue anymore. <Nightmare> And kind of, on the Spex question. <Nightmare> That'll be detailed more in the next two arcs. <Nightmare> I'd like to give a more definitive answer but it really would be better saved for next time. <Jet> Did that get rid of the issue which required Neoforte to do all his fighting for him then? <Jet> Or is that seperate? <Nightmare> That's separate. Nightmare still has the Nightmare Virus in him so is still troubled by the threat of becoming a Maverick. <Renegade> Is it pronounced neo fort. Or neo fortay? <Nightmare> "Neo-Fortay". <Nightmare> A kind of funny thing in my comic's story is we resolve Neoforte and Spex's character arcs before Nightmare's. Especially in the original comic's draft, Nightmare's stuff is kept largely mysterious until near the end of the story, where it's kind of all addressed at once. <Nightmare> In the rebooted story though I changed that, and kind of shifted the focus more onto Nightmare (since he's the main character and all.) I do a lot more foreshadowing with Nightmare and rather than dump it all at once in the last act of the story, kind of pepper it throughout the story. <Nightmare> And do more to make Neoforte and Spex's stuff relevant to Nightmare's larger story. <Nightmare> As we learned in a previous storytime, Spex is actually another experiment created by Audacity, Nightmare's creator, in the reboot. Thus tying their character arcs much more closely together. <Nightmare> And changes were made to Neoforte's story to make his and Nightmare's cooperation more mutually benefitial, both in respect to their character arcs, and the overall story as a whole. <Nightmare> Buuuuut the stuff I've been discussing is for the most part only relevant to my old, defunct comic. So most of it's dumb, nonsensical, and was written when I was 14. <Nightmare> Still, figured you guys would wanna know how it woulda went if I kept it going, since a lot of you were kinda into it back in the day. <Fusion> It was pretty neat to follow the stuff tonight!

Part 4 of Xero's explanation of the "Heritage Foundation" arc in "Cursed Bloodlines", detailing the Bloodline Crew's journey into Alliance territory, their capture and imprisonment at the hands of the Heritage Foundation, as well as their escape. <XeroBloodline> Okay, so... <XeroBloodline> Do you guys remember what happened last time on Cursed Bloodlines? <XeroBloodline> If not, go read it. It's all on the forum. <XeroBloodline> Just to set the stage real quick, here's where we are as far as progress. <XeroBloodline> Cyber, Xero, Amp, Renegade, and Cyber's new ladyfriend Melanie are all cruising around the galaxy constantly butting heads with the Heritage Foundation. We've met four of the five military commanders; Cheetix, Steagos, D'Ragnus, and the head commander V'Raptor. <XeroBloodline> Amp has a Reploid body made out of the Heart Armor, as I said Cyber and Melanie are an item by this point, and after numerous encounters and a little luck, they finally have a solid lead on the main Heritage base. <XeroBloodline> Alright, here we go... <XeroBloodline> So, as I said, the crew has a new lead on the main Heritage base, so they hopefully track these guys down and shut them down once and for all. Over the past few weeks, at most 2 months, they've been going through space tracking down Heritage facilities trying to find the main one. <XeroBloodline> They've hit hidden outposts, research facilities, replication factories where they make the new bodies, and have managed to shut down or destroy nearly all of them. All the while running into the Heritage commanders at different points and in different numbers. Usually one or two, there's one time where they run into three of them, but the Bloodline crew always come out on top. <XeroBloodline> Eventually they get a solid lead on where their main base is, but to get there they have to cross into the heart of Alliance territory, which is very heavily guarded. To travel there without citizenship is possible, but not easy. So they head for the border to figure out how to cross. <Nightmare> Not to interrupt. <XeroBloodline> Yes? <Nightmare> But is this "Alliance territory" like a series of star systems all part of the Galactic Alliance? Or is it like a main base for the Alliance? Or...? <XeroBloodline> The former. But it's like the core Alliance planets, they have colonies and stuff outside these star systems, but this is like the main home of the Galatic Alliance. And they're very picky about who comes in. <Nightmare> So have they not been in alliance territory this whole time? Or is Bolaris and stuff part of it, but not in the "main home" so to speak? <XeroBloodline> Bolaris actually doesn't have alot of territory, they're pretty powerful but they tend to stick to their own system. They were a part of the Alliance a long time ago, but they were actually the first group to succesfully secede from the Alliance, which they did shortly before Cyber joined their ranks. <XeroBloodline> This is actually the act that got people talking, and what eventually led to the formation of Crevalice, the group that wants to leave the Alliance now. <Nightmare> I see. Didn't realize Bolaris wasn't part of the alliance. Makes sense now. SORRY TO INTERRUPT <XeroBloodline> No, ask questions. I tend to leave out details like this sometimes, sorry. <Nightmare> It's cool. <XeroBloodline> But as far as being in Alliance territory, they've been getting closer, but the Alliance kinda has two levels of territory if that makes sense. <XeroBloodline> Outside the borders of the core star systems, it's more like the Federation from star Trek. Planets and star systems can be a part of the Alliance, but for the most part their on their own. <XeroBloodline> In theory, the Alliance is suppose to have their back if they're ever in trouble, and in turn they offer support like supplies, materials, etc back to the Alliance. <XeroBloodline> But lately it's only been going one way, and the Alliance really isn't doing their part. Hence Crevalice. <XeroBloodline> In fact, one of the biggest members of Crevalice is a planet inside the core Alliance territory, which really makes things interesting. <XeroBloodline> That planet is called Tremont, and remember it cause it's very important in the next arc. <XeroBloodline> But we're getting ahead of things here. <XeroBloodline> Anyway, Xero and company end up at Alliance Central, it's basically a gigantic space station that acts as the checkpoint hub if you wanna enter Alliance core space. <XeroBloodline> All kinds of stuff happens here, there's all kinds of shops and businesses going on here, since it's literally the only way to get into the core territory of the Alliance, virtually everybody in the galaxy comes here. <XeroBloodline> Now, before I carry on... <XeroBloodline> I thought long and hard about a way to change how this went down, cause it's a little silly. But it establishes alot as far as plot and character for everybody, and it would take me weeks to write around it probably. So just kinda bear with it. <XeroBloodline> Pretty much, Xero and company can't get through Alliance Central because they don't have any passports. And getting passports on short notice like this is virtually impossible. Even through the previously established Bounty Hunter Network, getting forgeries or anything like that isn't possible. <XeroBloodline> And the border is way too heavily defended to try and break through, so that's not an option. <XeroBloodline> Well, they can get on board Alliance Central, but they can't leave, especially into Alliance core space. <XeroBloodline> While Xero is at the immigration office learning everything I just said, a woman is there verifying her passports for her and her company, and she happens to overhear Xero's problem. <XeroBloodline> She approaches Xero, asks him what's the problem and where he's going, which of course Xero lies cause he can't very well say "oh I'm trying to find these secret bad guys that keep trying to kill me, and I'm gonna kill them harder." <XeroBloodline> Well it turns out this woman works for a defense contractor, and there's a special project they're working on this week. But she's a little short handed. If Xero and company agree to work for her for a little while, she can suppy them with work visas to get them into Alliance core space. <XeroBloodline> And after they help her with her work, they can just go on into Alliance space and do whatever they need to do...the less she knows the better. <XeroBloodline> This woman is Marlie Ringwald. She works for Wallring Industries, the biggest defense contractor in this part of space. <XeroBloodline> She has a name. You know what that means. <Nightmare> Yay important. <XeroBloodline> She's recently taken over her father's company because he's dead/coma/camping/dunno never thought about it. So while she knows the business, she's still new to running everything. <XeroBloodline> Anyway, while Xero was dealing with immigration, the rest of the crew had split up to explore the station. Amp and Rene went off to pick up parts for stuff and things they're working on, and Cyber and Melanie go shopping because it's not often they get to do normal couple stuff. <XeroBloodline> The main thoroughfair of shops is crowded as f**k, and Cyber and Melanie get separated for a few minutes. Now, in the comic, there was to be a panel where Cyber would turn around, not see Melanie, start looking for her. Then there'd be a panel of her doing the same, but in the last frame you'd see a hand kind of out of nowhere reaching for her. <XeroBloodline> Then bam, cut to see what Amp and Rene are doing... <XeroBloodline> Amp is getting parts to make sure his new body is in tip top shape, and he's also getting parts for his dog body. I think I forgot to mention that, but Amp did bring his old body with him. And on occasion has swapped back to it as sometimes it was more advantagous for a smaller robotic dog to get places, plus his support abilities do come in handy. <XeroBloodline> Renegade is looking for parts for something he's working on, with Amp's help. Basically, Rene wants his own kinda special armor to help keep up in fights. Rene's good for a human with no demonic evil side or rejoined clone powers, but he wants a little edge to help keep up with Xero and Cyber. <XeroBloodline> So that's what those two are up to, while Xero's flirting and talking it up with Marlie, we cut back to Cyber and Melanie. <XeroBloodline> Cyber finds Melanie a few feet away, sitting down rubbing her head. Turns out she kinda got mugged while Cyber wasn't looking, someone stole her purse. <XeroBloodline> Which of course sends Cyber into full on about to kill everybody mode, but Melanie calms him down, explains it's no big deal. Says she didn't have anything important in there anyway, wasn't enough money to matter, just some makeup and other girly things. So after some coaxing, Cyber calms down and they decide to find somewhere to eat. <XeroBloodline> As luck would have it, there's a very special place to eat on this space station. And as luck would have it everybody meets up there without any prior planning. <XeroBloodline> Yup. They're at Bloody Good Pizza. <Nightmare> XD <Tony> ... <XeroBloodline> Keep in mind, at this point you're not suppose to know Xero owns it. So Rene was to make the comment about "wow, can't believe they have these out here." Where even Xero would be a little suprised to find one this far out. <XeroBloodline> Anyway, the whole crew plus their new friend Marlie meet up at the pizza place, and they discuss the plan to work for Marlie to get work visas that allow them in Alliance core space. <XeroBloodline> Everybody's okay with this for the most part, til Cyber finally asks the smart question. "Exactly what are we going to be doing for you?" <XeroBloodline> Well, remember how Marlie runs defense contractor company? Well her company is there to try and sell the Alliance a new experimental star fighter. <XeroBloodline> And they're not the only ones doing it, there's actually a competition to help show off all the companies and star fighters there vying for this new government contract. <XeroBloodline> And as luck would have it, Marlie is in fact a little understaffed. She needs someone to pilot the fighter, and a small crew to make sure it's ready for the competition. <XeroBloodline> Cyber is a good pilot. Xero and Amp are good engineers. Sounds like a match made in heaven. <XeroBloodline> The competition is actually a race, designed with various traps and hazards to test every aspect of a ship's abilities. And Marlie wants her new star fighter, the Aegis, to win. <XeroBloodline> So, for the next couple of days Xero and Amp learn the ins and outs of this ship, while Cyber trains on a simulator to fly this ship, and naturally does a fine job of it. <XeroBloodline> Eventually the day of the race comes, and honestly at this point I was just gonna have fun with it, let a bunch of random spaceships race each other with some weird random cameos, might even have Starkill and his ship in there for shits and giggles, really just good ol' fashion anime-style filler. <Swim> Is that guy not dead then? Was he a robot? <XeroBloodline> Starkill was a Reploid, and no, he's not dead. <XeroBloodline> Actually, I totally forgot to bring him up when I started the Heritage Arc, he had a minor part to play, but it's not important so I didn't go back and cover it. <Swim> So he pulled a Vile, or more to your story a Heritage? <XeroBloodline> Well, remember Strat? <XeroBloodline> We'll say he put him back together. For the sake of argument. <Swim> I can't remember, did Strat have some connection to Amp? <XeroBloodline> Starkill and Strat aren't important to the rest of this story, but for canon's sake yeah they're both alive and kinda around. <XeroBloodline> Strat's a robot dog just like Amp, he worked for Defiant at first, then started hanging out with Starkill when Defiant was defeated by Cyber. <Swim> So not distant cousins or made by the same company or anything. <XeroBloodline> Well, a few weeks ago a few of us kinda helped retcon the whole Amp origin story, which I'll go into detail later. <XeroBloodline> But you're basically right, Strat and Amp were made by the same company, but they never met before the incident with kidnapping Morgan and all that. <XeroBloodline> Anyway, it's race time. <XeroBloodline> Ultimately, Cyber wins the race cause he's awesome and the ship is awesome cause Xero and Cyber made it that way. Cyber lands the ship back in the dock to much joy and celebration from Xero, Amp, Rene, and especially Melanie... <XeroBloodline> Who congratulations him by ROUNDHOUSE KICKING HIM IN THE FACE AND SENDING HIM FLYING ACROSS THE ROOM! <Nightmare> What <Tony> wat <Renegade> Hot <XeroBloodline> Out of nowhere the hangar is full of Heritage soldiers, and V'Raptor. <Tony> ... <XeroBloodline> They're in a confined hangar in the middle of a space station surrounded by hundreds of troops. They're surrounded, nothing they can do. The Bloodline crew has been captured. <XeroBloodline> As Melanie turns her back, she closes her eyes and starts to walk away. As she walks by V'Raptor, all he says is, "...thank you, Swanstice." <Nightmare> Aw shiet. <Swim> Ah, the final big bad. <XeroBloodline> And then there were five... <XeroBloodline> Cyber, Xero, Amp, and Renegade are all taken to a planet inside Alliance core space, where they're imprisoned by the Heritage Foundation. Their ship has been impounded, and they're pretty much screwed at this point.... <XeroBloodline> V'Raptor explains that their sole purpose now is to do what they said in the beginning. Cyber and Xero are to fight. All the time. Constantly battling the Heritage commanders in an effort to train them and make them stronger, smarter, and overall better soldiers. <XeroBloodline> Amp and Rene weren't a part of the original plan, but V'Raptor thinks they'll be good for training the "normal rank and file, I suppose..." <Nightmare> Talk about snubbed. <Renegade> Man that's some bull sh*t. Me and Amp are awesome. <XeroBloodline> And this goes on for about a week. In various configurations, the crew are forced to fight the Heritage. Cyber vs D'Ragnus. Xero vs Steagos and Cheetix. Cyber and Xero vs V'Raptor and Steagos. The only one you don't see again is Swanstice. Which everytime Cyber enters the arena/training area/wherever they're fighting, that's all he asks for. <XeroBloodline> "Where's Melanie? Where's Swanstice?" <XeroBloodline> And he never gets an answer. <XeroBloodline> Like I said, this goes on for about a week, til finally V'Raptor wants to have a little fun. He takes Xero to the arena, throws him in the middle of it all by himself, and just for sh*ts and giggles brings Cyber, Rene, and Amp along to force them to watch. <XeroBloodline> V'Raptor tells him that he'll be training against a special unit of Heritage soldiers; V'Raptor's troops. <XeroBloodline> Remember how each Heritage commander has his own group of soldiers, whose abilities mirror that of their commanders? <XeroBloodline> Well, this would be the first time we see V'Raptor's soldiers, cause they're pretty much the best of the best. <XeroBloodline> And guess how many Xero has to fight, in an arena, all by himself...? <Nightmare> Is it 100? <XeroBloodline> Throwback, hello. =D <Nightmare> Xero oughtta be getting tired of this sh*t by now. <XeroBloodline> Which, yes, Xero makes a smart ass comment to that effect. <XeroBloodline> Even Cyber kinda laughs, and yells out "I DID IT FIRST!!" <XeroBloodline> But basically, yeah, this would mirror the fight Xero had with the 100 shadows in the Black Crescent Arc. To where Xero would be fighting bare handed kicking all kinds of ass, but slowly wearing down. Yeah, he's stronger than he was back then, but you also have to remember Xero's been fighting the commanders for a week now. <XeroBloodline> And the fight would dwindle down much like the last one did, Xero would be down to just a few soldiers left, but he's on his last leg. Cyber and company wanna jump in and help, but they've got the likes of Steagos, Cheetix, and a few dozen soldiers holding them in chains. <XeroBloodline> And, just like before, V'Raptor would jump down and decide to finish this himself, and move in for the killing blow... <XeroBloodline> And, just like before, someone shows up to save the day at the last minute... <XeroBloodline> This time, however, it's not so much someone, as something. It's a single star fighter, the Aegis. <XeroBloodline> It lays down some cover fire taking out the last few soldiers, sending V'Raptor fleeing, and causing enough distraction for Cyber, Rene, and Amp to break free. <XeroBloodline> When the ship gets closer, turns out it's empty, but there's a message inside from Marlie. She stole the Fair Morgan back from the Alliance, it's in orbit waiting for them to pick it up, and they're gonna distract the Heritage ships in orbit for as long as they can. <XeroBloodline> Xero tells Cyber to take the Aegis and go get the Fair Morgan so they can get out of there, so Cyber and Amp climb in the fighter and fly back out to space, fighting their way through Heritage ships because yay space battle. <Nightmare> So what f**k Xero and Renegade then? <Renegade> ^^^ <XeroBloodline> Back on the ground, Heritage troops are moving in, so Xero and Rene kinda have to fend for themselves for a few minutes. <XeroBloodline> Rene's fairly fresh, and Xero's tired but he's running on rage at this point. So they kinda fight their way out of the arena and into the city. Which is abandoned by the way... <Nightmare> Some random abandoned city? Do we know where they are? <XeroBloodline> No, it's just some abanonded city on a random planet in Alliance space. It's not important. <XeroBloodline> But, for the sake of world building, the whole planet is actually abandoned, and the Heritage have been using it as a training camp for a few years. But it's not their main base. <Nightmare> Ahhh. <Nightmare> Okay. <XeroBloodline> Anyway, here I was just gonna have a big long chase scene fight with Xero, Rene, and a bunch of mooks. The Heritage Commanders bail because they're secretly wusses, and they hop on their big ass cruiser and start to leave the planet. <XeroBloodline> Plus, it would have been fun to see Xero and Rene work together, it's rare they have a cool fight scene together, would have been fun. <XeroBloodline> Anyway, the Fair Morgan lands and Cyber and Amp help clear out the rest of the troops to pick up Xero and Rene. <Nightmare> That would have been cool yes. <XeroBloodline> Rene notices the big cruiser leaving the planet, and Cyber points out they need to hurry so they can follow it, and find the Heritage Main Base. <XeroBloodline> Which, Amp actually chimes in and says the don't need to. Marlie actually left the information in the Fair Morgan's computers for them. They know where the Heritage are going. <XeroBloodline> To which Xero turns back towards the Heritage cruiser, grins, and says "...Good." <XeroBloodline> This next moment would have been the sole reason for me to learn how to flash animate. I've had this moment planned out in my mind since the very beginning... <XeroBloodline> Xero tells everyone else to get back on the ship. There's one last thing he has to take care of. A little bit of "what are you talking about, what are you doing? <Cyber> *looks at Xero* ...c'mon guys, let's go." <XeroBloodline> Cyber, Rene, and Amp hop back on the ship and start to take off. Xero takes off his glasses, and his eyes aren't blue. They're red. <Nightmare> Aw hell. <XeroBloodline> Xero then powers up, and throws his arms to the side, and begins charging the biggest Final Flash he has ever charged ever. <XeroBloodline> And not the usual giant glowing orbs charging. I mean massive swirling vortex out of each hand, constantly drawing in energy. <XeroBloodline> He finally throws his hands forward, and fires a "gigantic" energy beam towards the Heritage ship, which is in high altitude/low orbit at this point. <XeroBloodline> "Gigantic" isn't really a big enough word to describe how big I wanted this blast. <XeroBloodline> The Heritage Cruiser would detect the blast at the last minute, Cheetix would yell at them to raise shields, they'd get them up just in time for the blast to connect, but it's not enough. The shields just can't hold it back, and the Final Flash would tear through the shields, and eventually the entire ship, destroying the very center of the ship, and the two halves would slowly fall apart and be destroyed. <XeroBloodline> Steagos would ramble on about how that's not possible, there's no way he has that much strengh left, and V'Raptor, who is visibly enraged by this, only says "...I'll see you all back at base." Then boom, the whole ship explodes, killing everybody on board. <XeroBloodline> I have wanted Xero to blow up a space ship ever since I came up with this story. =D <XeroBloodline> And that, is a good place to cut my story in half... <XeroBloodline> Any questions? <XeroBloodline> Or, I guess I should say, any glaring details I left out? I'm prone to do that... <Nightmare> Xero's still on the planet, everyone else on their ship, Heritage guys are toast for the time being? <Swim> Maybe what Swanstice is playing at but I've a feeling you'll get to that next time. <Nightmare> Still no sign of Melanie for now? <XeroBloodline> Yeah. There was actually something very important on that ship, but I'll cover that later. <XeroBloodline> And Swanstice/Melanie is actually at the Heritage Main Base. We'll see her again, don't worry. <XeroBloodline> I suppose I should bring this up, just so there's less backstory to cover later. <XeroBloodline> Swanstice was actually the last Heritage Commander designed. Swanstice wasn't even completed til after Cheetix went to the Roadhouse on Earth, and the Heritage got to meet the Bloodlines face to face. <XeroBloodline> So while the other Heritage commanders are constantly learning and adapting, Swanstice was built from the ground up to kick Cyber and Xero's asses. <XeroBloodline> So right now, she's probably the most dangerous. Possibly more dangerous than V'Raptor, who's borderline crazy at this point because Xero keeps surpassing him. <XeroBloodline> But anyway, I could spend another hour or two wrapping things up, but this is a good place to pause, and let someone else go. <Nightmare> I have a lot of questions about Melanie but I'll hold them til you do your other half.
