Arne sits... pondering what he would do next. His attention is soon drawn to Dyna, asking him about food. "Yeah, sure. We could uses something to eat."
Hien joyfully chirps at the idea.
The pair get up and join the group as the traverse the festival grounds, seeing nothing by snack foods. Hien chirping at nearly everything, thinking it would all be delicious. "Settle down there, buddy. We're gonna need something a more substantial than all that." Hien lets out a small growl in disappointment.
---
Hien happily chows down on an order of fish... Arne can't help but smile at his companions exuberance while enjoying his own. Stops briefly to shake Dyna's hand. "Thanks. Sorry yours had to be called for time. You were doing really well. As for the prize money... that's mostly going towards food and hotel stays. Me and Hien travel a lot, and it can get pretty expensive. This should keep us going for a while, though."

Aqua nodded gladly as Terra gushed about her fight. "I was so worried you were going to get hurt! I'm glad you had fun Terra." She said truthfully. She may not understand the joy of arena fighting, but if her friend enjoyed herself than that's all that matters she supposed.
"Really? Titans were legends in controlling magic. I'm kinda curious now, we'll definitely have to go check that place out." She said.
~
Aqua followed her friend alongside their two new companions around as they searched for a restaurant. When the girl found a fish fry, she noted the tangy smell in the air. "They must do something special so that the fish stay fresh so long." She speculated.
"What do you suppose we find some clothes as souvenirs for this festival?" Aqua suggested.

Terra listened as Shin explained Eulene's impressive lift transit system, then he asked about the boast she'd made during the arena fight. "Oh, I'm gonna chalk that up to sheer desperation." Terra replied, trying to sound modest. "The cave was starting to collapse, a lot of us were injured and I just figured I'm the Earth Mage, it's probably my job to make a way out so... that's what I did."
When Arne started talking Terra took the opportunity to grab another fillet. It didn't sound like he had grand plans for the money, he was going to make the prudent choice and let it sustain him for a time. It sounded like what she always did with her arena winnings. Suddenly she wondered just what his livelihood was. "Do you partake in arena fights often Arne? I feel like I'd have remembered you by the way you fight. Or I'd have just remembered you by your friend here." She asked, gesturing toward Hien with the last comment.
When they were done eating Frida suggested shopping for clothes and other souvenirs. Terra smiled, that did sound nice, but she didn't see the point in bringing nice clothes on the road with them. It'd be impossible to keep them from getting wrinkled up and torn in their limited supply packs. Still, it made Frida excited and Terra wasn't going to ruin her mood by pointing that out. "Sure I don't mind looking around a bit more. Maybe we'll bump into Silver and Rino out there. Where did they go off to anyway?"

Aqua rested her chin on her hand, relaxing her arm and body posture over the plate in front of her. "Well," she said as she reached into her purse and withdrew the card Silver gave her earlier. "She came back and gave me this card. We're supposed to meet here later, so I guess we can head that way once we're done here.."
She reached down and pulled a piece of meat from the fish, which was lightly covered in a sweet, honey based sauce. She offered the piece to Hien, smiling. "Here little guy. I think you may need it if you want to get as big as our friend Enfurnus." She chuckled. She then blinked, and turned to Arne. "Does he get any bigger?"
Aqua noticed Etch being relatively quiet. "Hey, you ok? What did you think of the fight?"

Etch not quite understanding Shin's question responds to Aqua with a chipper "I thought the fights were amazing, the second was odd though! and I'm doing well, How are you doing and what did you think of the fights?" looking slightly to the left of Aqua seemingly staring at something in the direction of the arena.

Arne finish up what he currently has... and orders some more for himself and Hien "Nah... haven't really done much in the arenas. We usually take up other jobs... like hunting monsters and stuff like that. Sometimes we get a decent amount of money by selling valuable objects, if we're lucky enough to find them. What about all of you? Your group do anything besides arena fighting?"
Hien looks at Aqua and grabs hold of the piece of fish offered to him before devouring it happily like with the rest of his meal.
"He is, yeah... but it's gonna take him a while. He's also not gonna be as big as an actual dragon. From what I've been able to gather, fully grown... he's gonna be roughly the size of a horse."

Terra examined the card which was apparently for some kind of clinic. Was Rion sick? That could explain his abrupt departure I guess. Meanwhile Arne was being talkative. "I think I'm the only veteran of the ring among our group," she replied. "Frida was a sailor, some of us were soldiers. And now... You know, monster hunting is a pretty good description for what we do. Have you got a destination in mind or are you in Eulene looking for work?"
As Arne answered Terra laughed a bit watching Hien munching on the fish. She had been curious of the creature from the start, maybe now she could get some of her questions answered. "So, I take it you haven't been together all that long then? I'm really curious how you managed to tame a creature like this, can you actually understand him? You seem to treat him more like a companion than a pet, just how smart is he?"

"Sounds like you got quite a team." Arne says in response to Dyna. "Well, I was gonna be looking for work before getting caught up in the festival... no real need for that anymore. Have no idea where we're gonna be headed next, though. I'll have to figure that out later."
He places he food to the side for a moment, focusing on the questions about Hien. "Ok... well. First off, yes. For about 19 years now. Found him while he was still just an egg when I was a kid. And, turns out Wyverns are actually pretty easy to tame when you get them while they're still young... especially when they're just hatchlings. They have that whole "imprinting" or whatever thing."
While Arne is talking, Hien notices that his plate isn't being watched and starts to move closer to it.
"This here is the big one... yes, I can actually understand what he's saying. I'm not really sure how... I just know that I can. Whenever I tried looking into it... it's always just some stuff about a "spiritual bond" or something... I don't get it. Finally... from what I've seen, his intelligence is close to human levels."
He moves his plate the side just as Hien was about to take the fish on it "Nice try, buddy."
Hien growls softly before going back to his own food.

Shin listened to the conversations going on among the group, continuing to listen even after Aqua revealed the card Silver had given to her. As everyone talked and ate, he glanced over at the card as Aqua passed it over to Terra, waiting until she was about to resume conversing. "Mind if I take a look...?" He asked curiously, looking it over once Terra handed to him. He stared at the details of the card for a second, tilting his head as if something caught his eye, but said nothing before handing it back. "I see... it sounds like Silver must have found Ri--no..." He said, having a hard time working out that awkward change that people seemed to be running with for the moment. "... so I'd say that's where they'll likely be waiting for us, maybe we'll find out what made him duck out." Shin paused briefly after that, before nodding. "In fact, I dare say I'm sure of it..." He trailed off, feeling more than confident that if the location was where it appeared, then it really was not just a coincidence what happened...
Shaking his head after a few seconds, Shin then looked to Arne. "Well... it is as the others have said; if you're not sure where to head next, perhaps you could tag along with them for a bit? Perhaps you'll find something more interesting than simply hunting monsters." He wasn't going to give everything away so quickly, especially not if it was very likely to come up once the group gathered back together. After a moment he looked over to the bestia, who appeared to be looking off in the direction the group had been coming from. "Hm? Forget something, by any chance?" He asked, mainly trying to encourage the bestia to join in on the conversation.

Terra listened attentively as Arne spoke about his wyvern. "He's 19 years old?" She asked with some amazement. "How long until he's fully grown then? Will you be able to ride him like a mount at that point?"
She was especially impressed by Hien's purported intelligence level. "In that case maybe I should address Hien directly from now on," Terra mused. Even if she and the wyven lacked Arne's 'spiritual bond' the creature was quite animated in its communication style. She did have a chuckle at the attempt to nick Arne's fish and wondered if perhaps the creature wasn't fully mature, 19 could still be childlike for a species with longer lifespan.
Terra polished off her last fish and pushed her plate away, nodding appreciatively at their cook. "That was wonderful," she said, sliding off of her stool and turning over to Frida and Shin. "Shall we go have a look at the clothing vendors, get some ideas? I'd imagine most of the stalls will be closing for the night before too much longer."

Arne returns to eating, taking short breaks to answer the few remaining questions. "Not really sure. But he seems to grow pretty slowly, at least to compared to humans. And maybe... I'm sure there would be no issue when it comes to size, but... what do you think?" He turns to Hien, who growls disapprovingly at the idea. "I guess not."
Finishing up what remains of his meal, he looks over to Shin. "Hmmm... it has been a while since we traveled with a group... and having some extra company would be nice. Hien?"
Hien chirps happily... his tail swishing about.
"That settles it. We'll be happy to travel with your group."

Once they had all eaten their fill and after Shin had taken care of the bill Terra led the party back toward the merchant area. Some of the vendors had closed up for the night but there were still enough vendors selling their wares, and plenty of games to entertain. Frida again vocalized a desire to look at pretty clothes. Terra still didn't know how practical that idea would be once they were back on the road but she decided to humor her elf friend and accompany her. There was also the possibility that they'd finding a wine vendor, and Terra had been craving mead ever since the honeyed cider all those hours ago.
After a bit of walking the pair had strayed from the others, their attentions stolen away by the various stalls. Terra wasn't overly concerned though, everyone knew where the hotel was. Even Arne and Etch had been informed of the time and location that the group would reconvene. After a bit of browsing Terra had replenished her stock of ammunition and cooking spices, both were now tucked away in a brand new satchel that she'd laid eyes on earlier that day. Once they'd retraced their steps Terra and Aqua decided to explore a new path which led them away from the market and into the residential section of Eulene. They entered a tunnel and passed by one of the transit lines that Shin had spoken of, it wasn't being used right now but Terra admired the architecture around it, the stonework was immaculate.
The tunnel seemed to stretch on for quite a way, they must be getting closer to the mountain boarder now. Terra suspected there were several lifts all the way through the tunnel, and if they were identical they had seen as much as there was to see. Terra and Aqua turned to go but found their path blocked by a group of men. Terra felt a sinking feeling and grabbed Frida's arm, turning them around again to head deeper into the tunnel but after several paces a second group appeared, boxing them in. There were six in total. Most of them had knives, one held a mace. All of them carried guns.
"What's the meaning of this?" Terra demanded, trying to keep her composure. In response several of the men drew their pistols and pointed them at her and Frida.
"Don't act like you didn't see this coming, especially after showing your face in Agrova," the man with the mace sneered. "You actually thought you could fight in the Eulene tournamet without a disguise and we wouldn't notice? You're not a smart woman Dyna."
Frida held up her hands in protest. "Look, I don't know what's going on here but I'm sure we can settle this without anyone getting hurt."
"You can shut your whore mouth," mace guy snarled at her imposingly. "This doesn't concern you."
"Then let her go," Terra said suddenly, moving to stand in front of her friend. "I'll surrender without a fight, just don't hurt her."
Mace guy considered for a moment then nodded to his men to step aside for the elf to pass. "Forget what you saw here today," he told her.
Frida however shook her head stubbornly and stood her ground. "I'm not going to leave you here alone Terra."
"Yes you are, don't be stupid!" Terra responded forcefully, shoving her friend toward the exit. She had to make Frida see sense, they were outnumbered and weaponless and Terra knew they'd kill her friend without a second thought if they thought she could be trouble. "You need to leave right now!" Please just go.
After several tense moments something finally shifted in Frida and she turned wordlessly and ran from the tunnel. Two of the men kept their weapons trained on her as Terra submitted to a set of heavy metal cuffs. Terra had always known it would end like this for her. She breathed a sign of relief knowing that at least her friend wouldn't be dragged into it with her.
A sharp blow to the face brought her back to the present. "Now Miss Terra, you're gonna tell me what you did with all the money you owe us. Tell me no lies and I won't have to cut off each of your fingers before we kill you."
"You guys act like I've cost you a fortune," Terra said defiantly. "Look at me, does it look like I'm living lavishly? The money is all gone, I spent it all to on food."
"Apparently not all of it," mace guy replied, seizing her new satchel and rummaging through it. He threw it aside disgusted upon finding nothing of value.
"You guys are the sorest losers I've ever met," Terra taunted them, hoping to goad them into striking her again. "That money was never yours to begin with, you're just mad that you bet on the wrong horse."
The mace came down on her left leg, just above the knee. Terra screamed in pain. "You know the game being played is about more than money. The House always wins in the end."

Despite her arguing, Aqua left Terra to get reinforcements. Aqua ran through the streets looking for her group, not quite sure where Silver had disappeared to. Her second option was Rion, but she would rather have numbers. Her pace quickened when she heard her friend screaming, now she really wished she hadn't left.
Aqua caught sight of Hien, and knew she found them. "Guys! Come quick! Some men are attacking Terra!!" She shouted between breaths, drawing the attention of standerbys.

In the time it took Frida to return with their friends the beatings had been ceaseless. Terra's vision swam and her perception of time went hazy. It seemed like just minutes ago she'd been walking with Frida, but the pain made the minutes seem like weeks. Her eye had been blackened, her lips swollen and bloody. Her ribs were cracked and her left leg was probably broken.
The questions themselves had died away, at this point the men had concluded that she was either being truthful about not having money or that she was going to remain tight lipped about the subject. Once that had been made clear their objective shifted from interrogation to simply causing as much pain as possible. They'd placed a gag over her mouth to muffle her cries, they were hoping to make this torment last. Normally this would have worked in her favor, but no matter how much they beat her her skin refused to harden and she had to endure the full force of every blow.
When Frida returned with backup however the men stiffened, hearing the clattering of feet rushing down the tunnel before they came within sight. They'd expected to have hours of uninterrupted time with Terra and now there was the question of whether to run or fight. Mace guy recognized Frida coming into view and made a decision. "So the bitch decided not to take my advice and forget. So be it. Kill them all."

Near the back of the group, Etch-flame scans the tunnel. Seeing that the group they are facing is considerably more dangerously armed than he expected, he quickly moves to the center of his party, stares the one with the mace(Who he assumes to be the leader) dead in the eyes, and starts chanting, in some unheard of language, as he does so 'Mace Guy's' mace and gun start hissing and fizzling, tarnishing and rusting the gun to uselessness and the mace to near uselessness in a matter of seconds.
