Is there a dedicated Megaman fan website where I can download some base code for MMX4-6 mechanics, similar to what's available for Metroid fans? I've been thinking of making a 5th gen-styled MMX fan game for a little while now, and would like to hit the ground running.

Nobody here really knows how to make games, besides Zafer, but on Youtube theres some guys who are making their own fan games so I'd try emailing one of them for whatever it is you're looking for.

If you mean having wall hikes, shooting while running, shooting while jumping, they're all about using a state machine. I haven't really tried these myself, but here are some pre-built open source engines I found on other forums, maybe it can help give you an idea on how to develop your game and good luck on that fan game. Fandoms are a tough crowd, but don't let em get you down 😅.

What I need is a base for an MMX4 - 6-styled game, and I haven't seen anyone try to make a fangame out of those games' mechanics since the 2000's. Well, except for one guy, but I don't know if he'd be willing to share resources, especially since I don't particularly want to tell anyone what the fangame is going to be (Although I'm sure you guys can take a pretty good guess). I'll contact him anyway, though, and check out the sites. Thanks, I appreciate it, and don't worry - I never do .

It's nice that these exist, but after 2 years, I realized that I would much rather make my own MMX fangame from the ground-up as much as possible, using only facts and rules pertaining to the games to help program and design it (Meaning the only resources I now want are documents stating "Zero's max height is this many pixels" or "X's dash-jump momentum works like this", and just building the game and engine out that way). For those that just want to get a game up and running, enjoy; the more 32-bit MMX games there are, the better, regardless of how they're made.
