Itham's eyes widened at Alriik's respectful introduction. He of course recognized the elf as one from the Bleakwoods outright. The silver skin was a give away. The inner workings of that particular clan was private, and he had only hearsay to go on. What struck him at as odd at the moment was that his daughter must have met this individual away from The Frontier. Nevertheless, the elf was a dear friend and ally to his daughter, and a warrior of the Port Town Hunter's Guild no less. "I understand the Port Town guild produces capable fighters, though I had thought since it had suffered a disaster long ago that it's members died with it. The members of old, that is. You seem quite the weathered warrior. Please stand, I am honored to have you here friend."
Upon seeing Silver take her hood off, Itham looked again in surprise."A dragon? My word, I can't remember the last time I've seen a member of your kind. Tell me, does General Enfurnus still live? I had only crossed paths with the man once in my youth, but he was a revered figure. "

Terra was surprised that they were allowed to walk right in. As a political prisoner she had expected there to be all sorts of legal obstacles preventing them from seeing Frida's father, but if those hurtles did exist Chief Sam was able to override them. If Itham had to be imprisoned at least his jailer seemed to be a friend.
Terra watched attentively as the lion beastia opened the VIP cell, seemingly using a form of earth magic to unlock a mechanism within the door. She looked at her own palm thoughtfully. It might take her a few attempts but she felt confident she'd be able to use her own magic to unlock the cell. As an earth mage himself, Terra realized that Frida's father had the ability to come and go as he pleased. It made her more at ease to know that Itham was not physically confined, that he could walk out of his cell if he so chose. The reunion of father and daughter was heartwarming, Terra felt little tears of happiness well up as she watched the pair. They still had to ensure Itham's release, but the situation did not seem to be as dire as she had been dreading.
"Hello again!" Terra said brightly, raising her hand in greeting. "I'm Terra Bicheparte, we spoke briefly before over Frida's visor. It's a pleasure to meet you now in person Mr. Nyharllothor, sir. We're all here to help support your daughter and ready to do whatever we need to clear your name and secure your release!"

Silver looked a bit surprised at first by Itham's reply. Usually, people would mistake her for a bestia. But then again, this man was not just an average person, either... so it made sense he could tell what she really was. He also asked about Enfurnus, which made it clear he was familiar with dragons. She also had to admit it was nice for someone to react to her appearance with respect instead of disdain.
"Oh, yes. He is still around. He was traveling with us, but...I'm not sure where he went off to. Hopefully he will come back and join us again soon. He is minus one arm, depending on when you knew him. Man is going to end up being a full cyborg soon with the things he gets himself in to."
Silver laughed a bit.
Itham seemed so kind. She felt comfortable around him. She also wanted to break him out.

Arne didn't speak up much, being a stranger to these lands, he didn't really feel like he could add much to the conversation and could learn more simply by listening.
One thing that caught his eye was how this cell was unlocked with magic. If such a thing was possible... it gave him some things to think about later. Now wasn't the time for this.
Upon entering, both he was quite surprised by the look of everything. Despite being a prisoner, Aqua's father was still being treated fairly well.
When he requested introductions, Arne bowed respectfully... while Hien lowered his head, trying to mimic the motion while staying in flight. "It's great to finally see you in person. I'm Arne Saccharum, and this his Hien." Arne motions to the young wyvern who chirps happily "He says it's nice to meet you."

As Itham mentioned the incident, Alriik would take a deep breath. He'd remember the utter cold, the scorching heat. The dark laughter and defiant screams. He'd not let anyone see his lapse in composure. “When Master Xaphan fell, he took a great number with him. But Port Town is strong, forever remembering and persevering. And believe me… We remember what the General and you have done for us, Ser Itham.”
He'd finally stand, eyes forward. “And I will find any way I can to settle that debt, even if it takes my entire life or my early death. As long as I can still swing my blades, Captain Frida will be safe.” So formal… This was not like him. But it was genuine. The others may not see the danger Itham was in, but Alriik knew how powerful this man is while he still holds breath. He knew of dark ambition, and the men who carried it within them. There was a great chance Itham may never leave this cell. He ensured the man would at least know his daughter's safety was secured.

Rion remained quiet as the others introduced themselves to Iltham, still mulling over what had been explained about Mount Remorse by both Aqua and Alriik. If the tombs had long since been handled, then what was a treasure hunter doing there? It was plausible enough that perhaps he too was searching for the source of the corruption that was beginning to form in the Frontier? There were still so many questions he had about the stranger, but with no real way to follow such a lead currently, he pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind until at last he realized Iltham was looking to him, having heard everyone else speak up by now.
"S-sorry!" he gave a brief chuckle before following with a polite bow. "My name's Rion Galford. Like the others have said, I'm ready to help clear things up in any way that I can... perhaps more specifically, it was fighting back against the darkness that led me to fighting alongside Aqua, and I'm here to see that it is stopped before it can cause more trouble in the Frontier for you and yours." He did not have much more to say than that for the time being.

Itham smiled warmly at Alriik. Those in the room could see that his expressions of genuine care are the ones that Frida had inherited. "Rarely do I see such vindication from knights.. we are blessed to have you." He said in reply, but then took on a more serious tone. "Port Town.. that was my first report on the Blight. The first time we saw it here in The Frontier.. To think that what my wife feared would show itself within our own borders.."
Aqua perked up, curiosity in her voice. "You knew about the Blight, father? And mother too?" She asked.
"Yes, although.. I've never encountered it myself. I am not the warrior beauty your mother was, but she would mention it from time to time.. and reference the legend of Urufu, the Blight Mage.. and another." He said. "Had I known Xaphan so capable, I would have sent aid sooner. But the man was a respected figure, and had operated autonomously for years. Pray forgive my oversight, Alriik of Altiim. If I had acted sooner, we could have saved more of those lives lost. Though, I know I am in no position to ask you for forgiveness, I am glad to have an experienced warrior against the threat on our side, as I believe we face the unholy scourge again."
Itham's eyes flickered as he looked at Terra. "Are you the one Frida had fix her armor?" He said. "I noticed, there's a Fire Crystal in your possession, is there not?" While not initially visible, the elf was somehow perceptive of it's presence. "I can detect the stones with my magic, as within these walls you can imagine there is little variation. But as for the matter of you finding a home here, think nothing of it. Someone that Frida considers skilled enough to repair that which protects her may as well be family. I hope you will come to call his place home."
Itham showed concern about the news of Enfurnus. "So the General lives on. I am saddened he was not able to come here, but perhaps it is for the best.. the political upheaval at this moment may be disrupted further by a man of his caliber. Although, his knowledge of the Blight would be invaluable at this time. Regardless, welcome to The Frontier young miss."
Itham understood the warrior Arne but did not understand the wyvern. "This is Hien? Is he a.. baby dragon?"
And lastly he looked at Rion. "Fighting the good fight is a noble cause young man, but there must be a reason beyond mere friendship that brings you here. Am I sensing.. light magic? Although I feel there is more to you than meets the eye."

Alriik would cross his arms and tilt his head. “Ser Itham, I appreciate the sentiment. But I must refuse your apology purely on the grounds that it was not your place to get involved. He kept us aware of the risks. He also did a great many things for us, for the world. The Frontier would have been consumed by the dark thrice over if not for him. So the dark consumed him instead. But he surrounded himself with the ones who could stop him. Warriors from across the world, wielding any obscure skill or power that could end him when he could no longer keep it at bay. And we did.”

"Oh, yes sir, I did some basic armor repairs for Frida," Terra answered, trying to sound modest. "I'd have done better with a real forge but under the circumstances I did what I could to patch it up..."
When Itham mentioned the crystal she'd obtained Terra looked confused initially, but once she realized what he was referring to she hurriedly pulled it out of her bag. "You could sense that I had this on me?" she stammered. Terra was amazed that the elf had detected the crystal's presence in the room at all, and downright shocked that he'd been able to identify which person was carrying it. Itham might not be the warrior that his wife was, but he was obviously incredibly skilled as an earth mage. "How can you tell that it's a Fire Crystal? The Nature mages at the Crystal Forrest laboratory weren't even able to identify it while we were there."
Terra was left speechless by the last thing he'd said. She didn't think Frida had ever had time to tell Itham about Terra's plight with the House of Lords. Now she wondered if she wore her struggles on her face for all to see. Was it obvious to everyone that she was haunted by the past or was Itham just that good at reading people? Regardless, he'd cut to the heart of the matter. She didn't say anything but it really would be wonderful to stop running and settle somewhere. There was nothing Terra needed quite so much as a place she could call home.

Itham's grim expression softened over as Alriik excused him. He wasn't sure what to say next, so he would let the man have the argument. Even if he wasn't at fault, he felt there must have been something he could have done for them.
"I'm not quite sure, to tell you the truth. I suppose my years spent going to and from the facility, and my own independent works with the crystals has given me a bit of a, what would you call it, sixth sense on them?" Itham wondered. It might have also been that, unknown to those present, consuming foods from the forest occasionally over a long time might mutate someone's own physiology. "I wouldn't consider myself a combat oriented mage, and it's strange as those blessed with the power of nature magic are the ones best suited to working with Magic Technology. But for some reason, I can just pick them out now. Not that it means I'm as well read about them as say Harkins or his son."
"Ahem, Mr. Nyharllothor.." Sam interrupted. "I'm afraid we've nearly reached the limit how long I can allow these people in here. This is already against regulation." Sam began to usher the group toward the door. "You all have one minute left, so say your goodbyes. You can come back tomorrow, of course.."

Rion listened as Iltham addressed the others, before finally referring to him. One thing was for certain, the man was perceptive... though it was hard to determine what to say given that Iltham had been able to discern the crystal Terra had on her. If that was the case, Rion had to figure there wasn't much use hiding his condition from the man, but the fact that Sam was still standing around left him pushing that thought aside for another time. "I can't speak much to what you're seeing, but yes, I am indeed a light mage. As far as what's brought me to investigate things here with the others... well, as what remains of the Order of the Shining Sword, I've had a stake in stopping this even before I met Aqua and the others." There was part of this that still felt like a duty of sorts to him, almost as if he felt a need to carry on the work of the Shining Swordsmen, but he couldn't deny that things had become more personal as far as his mission ever since he recovered from what happened.
When Sam spoke up to prepare ushering the others out, Rion simply nodded before looking back to Iltham with a smile. "It was nice meeting you in-person, sir. Hopefully before too long it'll be under better conditions."

Arne shakes his head at Iltham's question. "Not quite. He's a wyvern... the smaller, more feral cousins of dragons. They're surprisingly intelligent, though... which really only becomes clear once they've been tamed."
Sam then spoke up about them reaching the limit of their visitation, causing Arne to stop his explanation. "Well, I guess any more explanations are gonna have to wait. It was good to final meet you."

Meanwhile, far away on a mountain range in Berseria..
The earth mage and sumo wrestler Yung Fueg sat atop a tree trunk, meditating in the evening forest. He had returned to his school here after finding a number of promising pupils, though he was most impressed by the girl whom he had sparred with in the town of Eulene. Terra was a strong mage already, and he thought to improve upon her strength with some advanced techniques of earth magic, whenever the girl made her way to his school.
Here, in the mountainside, the moon shined brightly down upon the forest glade Yung was in. The forest was alive with crickets, small night creatures, insects, and budding moon flower. The wind blew gently, causing the standing torch flames in the clearing to waver gently. Somewhere along his journey, he had discovered he had within him another type of magic ability, though he had little experience with it he sought to explore this element by attuning closer with the life in the ground around him rather than just the dirt, mud, and boulders. Time would pass. The sumo, having attuned himself to the nature element, thought to experiment a bit. He held his hand aloft at a garden of moon flowers just before him, and concentrated mana upon them, causing the flowers to bloom pre-maturely. He smiled a bit at his progress, though he was certain this magic ability would not come to replace his wrestling magic it was a beautiful gift.
He stopped his mana flow and held steady. Something was wrong. The forest life had grown quiet save for the wind. Yung slowly stood up on the trunk he sat on, and looked around. The hair on his neck began to raise as he sensed a deadly intent. The sumo quickly dove from the trunk and into the ground, the mud rippling around him and swallowing him as he heard a large crash behind him, smashing the tree trunk to pieces. The sumo looked back up through holes in the mud, but could not get a glimpse of his attacker. Rather, a shadow seemed to block out the night sky and the moons light. There was definitely something there and it tried to kill him in one shot, but why? Yung didn't have many enemies and certainly none that would try to take his life. Whatever it was, it seemed to stalk the area, no longer concealing it's presence. Mechanical hooves smashed into the ground as the shadow searched the area. Could it not sense him? Did it not see him disappear below?
Yung swam a short distance below where he surmised the beast to be. It stood still just above the moon flowers, searching around. Yung quickly made his move, and liquified the spots where the legs seemed to be, dropping the creature into the ground. The legs kicked and tried to catch onto something, but found nothing and splashed about as the mud dried fast and trapped it. Yung was careful however, as he still sensed there was danger, and swam away to the far side of the clearing and poked his head out just enough to spy on the creature as it struggled against the dirt.
The creature thrashed about, kicking mud and dirt and moon flowers about until it had freed itself from the trap. Now covered in mud, the figure became distorted, as it shook off it's camouflaging and scraped away at the mud that covered it. Yung could see a big, spider like monstrosity with thin legs made of silvery metallic joints which connected at the top to a small disk, but what disturbed him was below the disk there was a man hanging by his head inside the disk, cut off at his mouth and below. The hands of the person wiped away at a light atop it's strange metal face, clearing mud from presumably where it could see from. The body wore shredded clothing, but he could see the unmistakable fur of a tiger beastia, as well as the razor sharp fangs that were common among those kinds, though it's face was covered in dry blood.
Suddenly, the monster roared. Yung sunk back into the earth slightly, afraid it had seen him. The scream was inhuman, like a man, a tiger, and a demon all yelling together. "Must.. must.. eat..!" The beastia cried, before it took off into the forest, away from Yung's school and to parts unknown. Yung broke into a cold sweat, unsure of what had just occurred. His heart pumped rapidly as he struggled to come out from the mud. "What the hell.. was that thing..?" He panted, wide eyed. The sumo swam back to the school under ground, taking time to check behind him at every step of the way for the monster. He was able to return, sure the beast hadn't followed him. He kept an eye on the grounds after that night, taking care to search for any disturbances that the monster might have left if it had stalked the grounds again, though he found nothing. The beast was gone, but to where he had no idea.

Aqua gave her father one last hug. "I swear, I'll get you out of here." she said with conviction.
"Frida," Itham stopped her. "Listen. All this will add up to in the end is a mere power play from Barr. The man doesn't really care about what's going on in the country, just his own seat of power. But he isn't the enemy you need to worry about here. Whatever the blight mage is planning inside Mt. Remorse, you need to stop him. But there's one thing.. I think there's someone here in Meribia that's working for him. I don't know who, but as far as my own investigation has taken me it seems that the amnesiac children have something to do with it. You need to find them first."
"But who?"
"You'll need to investigate that on your own. The city is massive, but somewhere the children are going at night and disappearing until morning. Find out where, and who's doing this." Itham muttered. "I'm.. sorry to have to put this on you. I believe in you, Frida. You can do this." He said. Sam grunted, and gave a tap on his wrist to let them know time was running out. "Thank you for this Sam."
"No sir, thank you for all the good you've done. The young ones haven't had to live through those old times before The Frontier came to exist, nor the hard years of society adjusting to what it is today. And I owe you personally for the good you've done for my family as well.." Sam bowed his head slightly in respect, before ushering the group out of the room. Aqua would look back and catch one hopeful look from her father. The man smiled sweetly at her one last time before the metal door closed shut between them.
Aqua was few for words after the visit. Sam looked between the members of the group before silently leading them to the entrance of the building. Upon reaching the door, he sighed. "Miss. I hope you know that I will do all I can for you in these coming days. But I must warn you, things are dangerous right now. Be best about your wits." He said, arms crossed to Aqua. "Be careful who you trust." Aqua simply nodded, before Sam opened the door back out onto the street.
In the street, Aqua stood before the group where a light drizzle of rain had started to come down. Aqua wasn't sure what to say to them at that moment, and really needed to decompress. "I don't know what to say right now.. let's just go home and focus on this tomorrow." The rain began to pour down as Aqua lead the group across the city. From the northern sector they crossed south back into the eastern sector, through the middle and past the west. They would pass the shabby homes of the humans, the closed market stalls in the middle, and the fancier, well kept homes of the elves in the west. Upon passing the last home and the seeming end of the area, a sentry standing by at the gate approached Aqua and her group with a few torches. "Welcome back home, Captain." The sentry saluted after handing out the torches, and opened the fenced gate before them, which lead to a grassy, forest path. Aqua lead them through, and up the path to her home, Nyharllothor Manor.
The building was great. Dark wood paneling and windows, ivory balconies and marble gardens stretched around three stories and wings. Though it was dark and the rain was persistent, night fly lights lit the ground in smaller decorative fashion around the garden and toward a pair of grand oak doors. Within the gardens were several statues, Itham's hobby, of angelic creatures, crystal forest denizens, regal and knightly folk, and a smaller statue resembling the Savior overlooking town. Two sentries stood at the entrance and saluted Aqua as the group approached. She merely dismissed the two and opened the doors herself, leading the party inside her home.
Inside the manor was as nice as it was out. Creamy white marble made up the foyer entrance, and large banners of The Frontier hung from the ceiling around an enormous glass chandelier alight with candles. Stairwells rose on both sides to the second floor, and to the third around the corner. Against the wall of the second floor visible from the entrance was a family portrait of the Nyharllothors, Itham, Aqua, as a child, and her mother together. Though the lights were dim within the manor, Aqua was able to relax a bit more. She removed her helmet and looked around. The family had one or two house servants to attend at night who were mostly housekeepers, but none were around, she imagined due to her father's incarceration.
"Bedrooms are on the second floor. The last on the right wing is my fathers and the last on the left is mine. Bathrooms can be found on each floor." She said, then turned to the group. "Welcome to my actual home. Please make yourselves comfortable.. and we'll figure out what to do tomorrow." Aqua slinked away without much else to say to the group. She quietly retired to her room, where she sat up and watched the rain fall on her window for some several hours before finally succumbing to exhaustion and falling asleep.
Her sleep did not last long though. Aqua woke up before the sun had risen in the early morning and stayed awake to listen to the forest come to life slowly with the sunrise. She left her room and went down to the first floor where she would see one of the manor's footmen arriving. The man wore complimenting formal attire and was quick to notice her on the overlook above him as she came down in her armor. "Good morning and welcome back, young master." He greeted her happily with a wide smile. The man was human and had grey hair which combed thinly over a bald head. He had wrinkles of old age and a thick grey handlebar mustache underneath two lively brown eyes. He was a bit shorter than most as well, but seemed stout and agile for his age.
"Nicholas.." Aqua warmed slightly. "It is good to see you again."
"Likewise, Miss. Rumor has it you breezed into town upon an iron ship before the rain set in, and I came to see for myself if it was true. I'll send word to the other staff to report back immediately to the manor."
"No, that won't be necessary. Nicholas, for the time being, I'll need the staff to stay home. As you can imagine, I have much work to do in the city and cannot rest at home. Give the staff time off to stay at home with their loved ones until I or my father say otherwise."
"I.. I see. When the lord was arrested, he was taken here in the foyer."
"What?!" Aqua's eyes narrowed.
"The Lord requested we defend his privacy by hiding away the key to his study, but yesterday morning.."
Nicholas lead the elf to Itham's study. The room was in disarray, with bookcases knocked over and his desk tossed over and its contents spilled onto the floor. Aqua could always find her father here late in the evening, where he would bring home his work, but now the room lay in chaos. Aqua teared up a bit, and Nicholas merely looked down. "It.. it is a shame. I really respect Lord Itham, and to stand by helpless while those goons tore everything apart.."
Aqua would start to put everything back together now in the study where eventually the party would find her, picking up papers and documents off the floor as well as cleaning up the mess. Aqua, while picking up one drawer from his desk, noted something of interest within. A small key with a metal feather fashioned onto the handle's end. The key was something that stuck out to her, but she had trouble remembering what it was for. She took it and put it into her bag, and resumed restoring the study.
Nicholas wiped the sweat from his forehead when all was said and done. The study was back in order, but Itham would have a nightmare re-ordering it's contents when he was released. "Young master, it may be out of place for me to ask, but what are your intentions? Will you go to the House of Man and challenge Barr's order to release your father?"
"I thought about it.. but I don't think much will come of it if I do. It would be better to figure out what's going on in the city first." Aqua said, folding her arms in front of her.
"I see.. well, I will stay and try to re-organize your father's study as best I can. Perhaps I can find something that can tell us what those guards were up to..?" Nicholas suggested. Aqua thought about it for a moment, then patted him on the shoulder.
"Thank you, Nicholas. Please, watch over the manor in our absence. Don't be afraid to use force to defend it if you must." She jested. Nicholas, unsure if she was serious, gave a confused nod and smile and went about organizing the study.
After prepping their gear, Aqua lead the group out past the garden to the forest path between the manor and the city proper. "As much as I would have loved to give you all the grand tour of the city on lighter terms.. seems like I've been things saying things like that a lot lately.." she sighed, exasperated. She rose her head and clapped her hands together. "I think it's better if we split up for now. More ground covered that way. Find out what you can about what's going on between the races, the houses, Barr, my father, the mountain, and anything you can on the children. The more we know, the better prepared we'll be when we go after the Blight mage."
Aqua stood steady with her hands on her hips. "Meet back here before sundown.."

As Aqua embraced her father one last time, Alriik simply watched. He watched Sam return Itham to his cell, and was escorted out to the street. Sam gave a final warning… Before Alriik gave on back in kind. “… If anything happens to Ser Itham in your care…” He’d give the lion man a very direct, stern look. “… Port Town boys got good memory, Sam.” He’d turn, and follow the group. As the rain began to fall, Aqua would suggest to return to her home. Isa’d have to wait.
As they walked from the houses of man, to the stalls, to the elven houses, the few that would recognize Alriik would be less fearful and more irritated. They were old enough to remember the buffoon that somehow managed to save their town. They continued to follow to the Nyhorllothor homestead. They would meet with the guards, and follow into the garden. Itham had been busy, he didn’t recognize most since the last time he was here, only a few of the knightly figures. One stood out, one far in the back depicting an elven woman with her hands together in prayer. Did he… Import that from Port Town? Either way, it gave him a short smile.
As they entered the manor, Aqua would give the others directions, and would leave. Alriik wasn’t, however, in a sleeping mood, and would raid the dry storage for something to eat. The Nyhorllothors were well to do, and technically his employer, so if anything Aqua could take it out of his cut for the next job. He’d find some jerky and some bread, and after some time snacking, he would eventually kick back amongst some bags of grain, and pull out his diary, deciding to get some writing in. However, it wouldn’t be long before the silence and comfort eventually causes him to drift into darkness…
He would eventually wake upon hearing a voice he didn’t remember through the door. He’d return his writing materials to his bag, and would rise, standing and stretching. That was the best sleep he had gotten in days, and in a damned food storage. And sadly, it was over. He’d step out, listening to Aqua and her home’s caretaker. They would run to her father’s study, and he would sigh, and crack his back. He was going to be back on the clock soon. He’d sit down, and await her return. She’d then return the party to the gates.
Aqua would give the suggestion to split up, one Alriik almost jumped at. He’d raise an arm to the group as he stepped away. “I know exactly where to start. I got some friends in some low places.” He’d mock-drink from an invisible bottle, and would give a bit of a chuckle. As he stepped away, and out of the view of his friends, he’d quickly make to the back alleys. Going back through the elven houses, past the stalls, back to the human quarter of Meribia. There he’d find it: The Steel Rose, a dingy little bar made from the leftover material from the last building that stood here. He’d approach the bar, smiling, some warmth finally returning to his heart. Cold drink, a warm fire, friends, it was only a few steps away. He’d become a bit nostalgic, remembering the good times… When suddenly he felt a sharp pain on the back on his head.
He’d stumble forward, and see a rock skip from his head to beside his feet. He’d place a single hand where the pain came from, and when he returned it to his view, it was covered in his mercury-colored blood. He’d stare at his hand for a moment, rage flashing on his face, turning back to a group of 6 or 7 humans, 4 holding rocks, and the other 3 holding farming equipment as weapons. He’d give an especially disdainful look to the man in the back holding a scythe. “GET OUT OF OUR TOWN, MONSTER!” The one in the front screamed at him. He’d grit his teeth, before standing proud, crossing his arms. “You got one chance to run. One. Or I’m not going to be the only one bleeding.” He’d slowly put his hand to the katana at his side…
