It's that time everyone! Post in this thread to sign up for the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate amiibo tournament we're holding in honor of Zero Virus' 17th Anniversary!
Time: Sunday June 21st, 3:00 PM EST
Rules
Registration
Please post (once and only once) in the thread below to sign up for the amiibo tournament. We'll keep a running list of all entrants below to give you an idea of how full the brackets are. If you're interested in signing up, please don't hesitate to post--if you're unsure about playing, you can always write me later to withdraw from the tournament or give your spot to someone who wants it more.
In order to avoid any Byes, we'll be doing our best to fill an 8 to 16 man bracket. Please note that if you're say, signup #17 and nobody else registers after you or withdraws, you may not get a spot in the brackets, but we'll do our best to accommodate everyone.
Time: Sunday June 21st, 3:00 PM EST
Rules
- You must be able to be in the chat (on either IRC, the forum, or Discord) during the Tournament's 3:00 PM EST start time and prepare yourself to be available for the 2-3 hours during which the event will likely take place
- Your amiibo must be a legitimate figurine (no hacked chips or counterfeit amiibo cards)
- You must have trained your amiibo yourself. You're allowed to have assistance from others training it, or train it against computers, all that, but I mean don't borrow a friend's figure that's already fully leveled or something like that
- Your amiibo must not have any stat buffs or effects from Spirits. Do not feed your amiibo Spirits at all when training them, if they have any effects from Spirits, they will be disqualified. If you've already fed them a Spirit, you must either enter a different amiibo into the tournament, or reset and retrain your amiibo, sorry
- This is more of a suggestion than a rule, but your amiibo should be level 50 (the maximum level.) We won't disqualify an underleveled amiibo so feel free to enter one if you really want to. I'd normally advise you to level them or else they'll get stomped but last year's tourney had two undertrained meebs kick a lot of ass so do what feels right
- You must save a replay of your amiibo's battle afterwords, regardless of whether they win or lose
- Matches will take place on a random Battlefield-type stage
- Match Rules are 3 Stock with a 6:00 minute time limit
- All Items must be turned OFF.
- Battles are 1 on 1 between the two amiibo with one match being fought between them
- The Tournament will be double-elimination style with a losers brackets, so every amiibo gets at least two fights. If your amiibo loses two battles, they're knocked out of the tournament
