So hey guys. It's been a while since we publicly discussed this topic, but I feel it's time to revisit our old friend Xero Fantasy. As most of you may remember, we had to put a hold on Xero Fantasy due to hardware limitations and malfunctions on my part. However, thanks to a little time, effort, and some generous help from all of you, we're in a slightly better position I feel. I've been streaming gaming content fairly regularly the last few weeks with moderate success, everyone seems to be enjoying it. Which makes me think it may finally be time to bring back something that is very dear to me. However, there is one big thing I'd like to discuss and get everyone's opinion on.
Previously I would stream Xero Fantasy on twitch for a few hours, then split those streams up into shorter episodes to be uploaded to YouTube. In hindsight I feel that is unnecessary and time consuming. This time we will be streaming directly to YouTube, it will be easier to archive our adventures together for years to come and will be considerably easier on me and everyone else in the long run. As it stands, Xero Fantasy has one entire playthrough on the internet, the entirety of Final Fantasy 1 is on my YouTube channel. Part of Final Fantasy 2 was uploaded, but while we completed the game in streams they did not survive the hardware malfunctions I encountered, and no complete record of our time in that game exists. But as a group we did finish Final Fantasy 2, and had a wonderful time doing so, and was easily halfway through Final Fantasy 3 before things had to take an indefinite hiatus. Here is my dilemma; if we were to begin streaming again, where would we start? As a group we left off with Final Fantasy 3 but the save data for that game is long gone, so we would essentially be starting over from the beginning. But if we started with Final Fantasy 3, there would be a huge gap in the overall collection with virtually no streaming or episodes of Final Fantasy 2. So do we go back and replay Final Fantasy 2 for consistency's sake? I know we had alot of fun playing that together, and quite a few good jokes and ZV memes have been born from it, but I don't know if revisiting the game would be worth it or would damage those memories or memes we've already established.
Regardless of which decision we make, it may still be a while before Xero Fantasy returns. I'd like for this holiday season to finish up, it's always a busy time for everyone and I'd rather not compete with real life during such an important time. Also my schedule for next year is still rather tentative, but as of right now I will be away from home the middle of January. But if there is interest, we will definitely make time for Xero Fantasy to happen.
There is a poll in place for you to vote on the FF2/3 issue so that I can have a definitive answer to this decision. If you have any questions or comments related to either game or Xero Fantasy in general, please feel free to post here and ask. Do you even want to see a return of Xero Fantasy? Is there anything you'd like for me to do specifically to improve your Final Fantasy experience from last time? Any and all input will be appreciated. Thanks, and I look forward to more Xero Fantasy with everyone in the future!
