Seriously, just look at the consequences for not registering at the Selective Service System (aka sign up w/ the army and in case of a draft you'll be shipped off to Iraq to die) www.sss.gov/FSbenefits.htmI mean, whatever happened to the U.S. being the land of the free? They're practically forcing you to register! I've been 18 for about 4 months now, and I still haven't registered. Theres no way in hell I'm doing it either.

That is just pure greed on the government's part. I want to work for the country, but not serve it in a pointless war. To be quite honest, I think the American Military system, or at least how it's being run, is correct.
"Registration is the law" F**k that. I don't wanna be part of the military.

Thats exactly what Im saying! I mean this sort of sh*t reminds me of WWII or Vietnam, when everyone was being forced into war! We're supposed to be more civilized than that! Come on...

If you really love and appreciate America, you'd be willing to die for it >.>
I don't think that you should be "forced" necesarrily, but if I were drafted, I'd be happy to go. That's just my opinion though. I suppose it is unfair to force someone to fight if they really don't want to.

@shadow: I understand what you're saying, I do love my country, but it seems that our country isn't loving us too much if they're forcing us into a war. I think the government purposely plants this "love your country" bull just to guilt people into fighting.

It really depends on the war. If it were WW2 or something then ya I'd support it but this thing in Iraq is going overboard. I truthfully supported it at the start but its been several long years, the fighting is long over, now our troops are standing around waiting to be killed. Its been too long, bring 'em back and let the Middle Easterners protect their own dam country.

I had to register for that selective service thing in high school. I don't remember my number or whatever it gave me for signing up or anything(it was probably sent to my now non-existant angelfire email account XD). Anyway, I signed up(even though I didn't want to) and so far I didn't get sent to war or anything ^-^
I wish Clinton was still president
