True, there are no dates given or even mentioned in the Legends games themselves, except for the referenced timeline in Perfect Memories. It's a wonder how the date 8XXX got accepted.
As for the proposed X7 - CM - X8 timeline of mine, I made it from gathered data thus far from the games themselves and the Youtube link in the previous page. It meant more sensible and reasonable if you flip the date for 22XX in CM to the 21XX. Of course there are other issues we can take care off, but all we can do is speculate again.
And for the record, Taro, it goes to show for a new person who has never noticed a member's true name right up till now.
EDIT
Oh yes, anyone having the original manuals for those 2 games, please do post the much desired answers here.

FanWriter, stop mentioning Command Mission. It's not a real part of the series, just a spinoff. If we mention Command Mission, we might as well add MegaMan Soccer and whatnot. >.>;

Mmm... perhaps you're right for now. I agree to drop CM for now. But I'd like to think it actually is.
Well, for extra note, I think that Megaman and Bass and the two Power Fighters should be considered part of the canon as well. I don't have reasoning for the Megaman and Bass but I do know we have Wily mentioning Zero in both Power Fighters games.
Back on topic, it'd be nice if someone has the original game manuals for X7 and X8.

I have them. X7 doesn't say anything of relevence, and X8 says 21XX. And MegaMan and Bass maybe, but the Power Fighter games are again just spinoffs. Though they do mention Zero... Then again that could mean nothing. We know that Dr.Wily made Zero, but without more information we can't say that the manner in which he was introduced in Power Fighters was accurate (I mean, Zero didn't even look like how he was supposed to in Power Fighters. >.> As I told Ztrl over the phone last night, Capcom really needs to get this straightened out. This is starting to give me a headache. XD

I liked how In x7 they acutally explained the reason why Extra lifes Worked It was basicly Your data is saved in the transported and should you be destroyed they just retransmit you but at that I always ask why the hell not make 30 X's and 20 Axels and 1000 zeros?

Duh! (JK) what did Zero look like from powerfighters?

That. But I don't see what relevance those last two posts had to the MegaMan Storyline. Stay on topic people. >.>;

Hmm. He had his X3 design. I guess we can call Power Fighters 1 and 2 spinoffs.
Aha. X8 did say 21XX. well, since X7 didn't have anything, I'd rather go along with the dialogue they have there.

I consider the second one canon since it reveals(to those who denied the obvious) that Zero was created by wily. I think the shoulder pads are just a mistake.

... a design mistake, as recalled by Inafune. Or it may be just me.
Well, for a multiple character-player game like this, I sorta find it a little hard to accept it as canon, though initially I did support it as canon.

I only support bass and protoman's endings as canon.

Allow me to summarize. Classic 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-MM and Bass-PowerFighters (for those who choose anyway) X 1-2-Xtreme1-3-Xtreme2-4-5-6-7-CM (for those who choose anyway)-8 Z and ZX and Legends wise we are pretty clear Z1-Z2-Z3-Z4- big time gap - ZX-ZXA- another big time gap - Tron's Misadventures- L1-L2- ? And that is all.

CM is not canon. It's just an overrated horrible disgrace to the X series.
