Is it really all that good? I used to use AVG on my old computer before I switched to Avast, and I didn't think it was all that great.

Well, AVG is quite good. Plus it's free. So it's worth a shot.

The exact same thing can be said about Avast, Fann... so it really doesn't answer BB's question.

Well I'm to assume it makes your computer not explode even better than other stuff. What else would a virus scanner do?

Yeah, Avast is okay. I moved up to AntiVir which has worked best for me out of all three.

AVG Is the best, most hassle free, antivirus that I have used that is free.
