I know some of us were posting about this the last couple of weeks, but here is where you can find all four episodes of the promotional Pokemon Origins anime, as long as you don't mind English subtitles. www.animeget.com/pokemon-the-origin-special-1Its not supposed to be released outside of Japan until November sometime, but through the magic of the internet we can get it now. The episodes revolve around the Generation 1 storyline with Red and his rival Green as the main characters. Worth a watch, and a hell of a lot better than the Pokemon anime that has been doing the same thing for years.

I'm gonna be completely honest... after I've read some stuff about it... it seems like nothing more than a two hour reveal for Mega Charizard X rather than a than a look back at the old Pokemon games. And that's not really something I'm all that interested.

I enjoyed it for the nostalgia trip, seeing Red beat Brock through wearing him down with his whole damn team, seeing the Lavender Town story better told, and the fighting is just a hell of a lot better than in the anime. And while I understand that pulling Mega Charizard out at the 11th hour seems like a desperate hook to get people excited about X and Y, you have to remember that this short series was made to promote X and Y and get older players back into the games. That and I thought the fight against Mewtwo was so awesome that I didn't really care about the Mega evolution.
