I've been thinking about hosting a tournament for Smash 3DS here on ZV... but I want to judge interest first.
I also want to see if people would be interested in a special tournament idea I had... the Mii Fighter tournament. It is, as you would expect, a Smash tournament where you play as a Mii Fighter.

I was probably going to make a thread like this myself before the week was out, and I had an idea for two tournament brackets. One would be for only default fighters, the second would allow for special moves and equipment. I'd like to have two brackets going myself, but if you'd like to limit the second one to just Mii fighters that sounds good to me.

I'll throw in my two cents.
I like the idea of a tournament. Not as crazy about a Mii only one because that doesn't really give you a lot of diversity (while you can customize the moves of your Miis there aren't a lot to choose from and from what I've observed thus far everyone basically uses the same moves.) But if you did a Mii only one I'd participate as well.
I don't like the idea of limiting moves (i.e only default fighters) because personally I think the custom moves are the best new feature in this Smash because they add some personality to your play style. I do however think that equipment should be outlawed since it's possible to balance your equipment to a point where you can get much higher stats across the board if your equips are good enough, as well as other effects that may give you an unfair advantage.
I however am more open-minded to equipment on Mii fighters, since it helps give the otherwise bland Mii fighters some more flare, but I still think any equipment with special effects should be outlawed.
Whatever the case though, count me in.

Well, my ideas for rules... at least for the Mii Tournament... were:
-Only a Mii Fighter can be used. -Matches will be 1v1 with three stock and no time limit. -Only items will be Smash Balls. -No equipment. -All stages are open, but both players must agree on what stage to play on. -If no agreement can be reached, the match will take place on a random stage. -After each match, both players must contact me with the results. -If I receive conflicting reports, both players will be disqualified. No exceptions.
I'm not really big on idea on allowing equipment because I don't want battles to come down to "Who has better equipment?"
