Yet more new products for the Wii. So hot right now.

February 23, 2007 - The Wii is undoubtedly the darling of the gaming industry at the moment, so it's not surprising the third party peripheral designers are climbing aboard the Wii train as quickly as possible. Earlier this week we got a look at a bunch of GameStop branded Wii accessories currently in the works. Today, Nyko Technologies announced another round of planned Wii products to follow up the company's Wireless Sensor bar (review) and Charge Station (review).
Nyko's two new Wii products will be the Classic Controller Grip and the Click Grip. The Classic Controller Grip finally makes use of those mounting points on the back of the Wii Classic Controller we've been wondering about for so long. Though we originally thought Nintendo would be the ones to provide this solution, Nyko's Classic Controller Grip finally addresses the annoyance of dealing with a Wiimote dangling off of your Classic Controller for Virtual Console gameplay.
Nyko's product mounts the Wiimote nicely below the classic controller, has a loop to coil up the cable, and extends the handle prongs of the Classic Controller for a more ergonomic grip. It's the first such product of its kind and may be just what the VC fans are waiting for. The retail debut will go down in April with a suggested price of $14.99
Nyko's other new Wii product will be the Click Grip, essentially a replacement Wiimote battery cover with a slab of textured silicon for improved grip. As we saw earlier, GameStop will soon be launching a rather similar product, in that case dubbed the Enhanced Battery Grip. Though Nyko's product comes in fewer colors (blue, pink, and gray), it's MSRP of $5.99 for a two pack undercuts its GameStop competition. The Click Grip is expected at retail this coming March.
