Hey. As some of you may know, I've begun development of my comic again. But there will be some differences. First off, I'm limiting MegaMan references, so characters and places will be removed, though some terms will still be used. Also, the physics have undergone a revamp. Since it's all very complicated, I'm going to try and explain it so that it's simple, yet you still understand.
The Basics
All things are made of energy particles called "Chi." There are seven kinds of Chi. Six that represent the elements, and the last is a kind of blank Chi that stores information. This blank Chi (oftenly called "Memory Chi") when combined with other of the six kinds of Chi form matter. Everything is made up of a combination of this Memory Chi and the other six elements.
How the body stores Chi
Every living thing has these seven nodes inside their body called "Chi Chambers." The Chi Chambers are labeled as; The first is the "Natural Chi Chamber." Next is the "First Chi Chamber", then the second, third, ect. until the "Sixth Chi Chamber."
All Chi Chambers can produce any of the six elemental Chi. Not everybody has all seven chambers filled though. In fact, most people only have the Natural Chi Chamber, then maybe the First filled. The term "Filled" when used in reference to a Chi Chamber means that the Chi Chamber is filled with, and producing Chi. When a Chi Chamber in your body is producing Chi, that means you can use it in combat.
Every living thing has their Natural Chi Chamber filled. Though the Chi in the Natural Chi Chamber varies from person to person, every living thing has it's filled. That's because this is the Chi Chamber that produces the Chi that merges with your Memory Chi to hold your body togeather. Without your Natural Chi Chamber, there would be no Chi to hold your body togeather, and you'd die.
Your Natural Chi is decided at birth. You normally inherit it from one of your parents, though it is possible to be born with a different kind of Chi than your parents, though it would be from someone farther down your family tree.
Chi can be inherited into your other Chi Chambers, or be artificially inserted. The Chi in your other six Chi Chambers has nothing to do with the makeup of your body, but you can tap into them and use the Chi just like you could your Natural Chi.
To increase the amount of a type of Chi your body produces, two or more chambers can be filled with the same type of Chi. This merely means your body produces more of that type of Chi. NOTE: More chambers does not equal more power. Someone with two chambers filled can easily overpower someone with all chambers filled under the right conditions. The amount of Chi one chamber produces varies from person to person, and the amount of skill the person has determines how well the Chi is put to use and how little of it is wasted.
NOTE 2: Once Chi is placed into your Chi Chambers, it cannot be removed, and once you fill all seven chambers, you've reached your limit. Tampering with your Chi Chambers could damage them, and should they get damaged, they won't work and will stop producing Chi, so it's important not to mess with the Natural Chi Chamber.
Though like Chi itself, the Chi Chambers aren't physical, they're a spiritual part of your body, like the soul, so your Chi Chambers can't be damaged through physical trauma, but rather, by dangerous or foreign Chi entering your body.
Different kinds of Chi
This is the important part, and what I want from those reading this thread.
There are seven kinds of Chi. I've already talked about Memory Chi somewhat. Now let's get into more detail. First, are the six elemental Chi. These are the different kinds of Chi that can fill your Chi Chambers. There are also different traits associated with those who have these kinds of Chi as their Natural Chi.
NOTE: Though these Chi have elemental affinities, the Chi only manifests itself as an element if the user wishes. If there is no elemental concentration into an attack, the attack will just function as a normal energy-based attack, but will still be colored in correspondance to the Chi used.
Green Chi: The first of the elemental Chi. Green Chi has a Wind elemental effect. Because of this, those who wield Green Chi can usually fly, control the wind, and/or manipulate lightning. People with a green Natural Chi are often very free spirited, perfer fun over work, and usually live life with their own goals and liesure in mind. They have alot of stamina, so it's hard to bring these guys down, they're really the kind of people who when knocked down, just get back up, and charge the enemy screaming. People with a green Natural Chi tend to attack unexpectedly and quick in the heat of battle, and either try to overwhelm their opponents with a flurry of quick blows, like a gust of wind, or strike once with deadly force, like a bolt of lightning.
Blue Chi: The second of the elemental Chi. Blue Chi has a Water elemental effect. Because of this, those who wield Blue Chi can usually breathe underwater, withstand cold tempratures, manipulate water, and create ice. People with a blue Natural Chi are usually very calm and quiet, and oftenly very smart. They are the type who are good with complex strategies in battle, and are very quick and agile. People with a blue Natural Chi are usually very paced in battle and attack opponents in a predictable rythm, but each attack flows into the next, like a raging river, making it very difficult for opponents to stop them before the finishing blow could be dealt.
Yellow Chi: The third of the elemental Chi. Yellow Chi has an Earth elemental effect. Because of this, those who wield Yellow Chi can usually control an manipulate rocks and the ground, turning the environment against their opponents, and control their Chi very well. People with a yellow Natural Chi are oftenly the strong and silent types. They're very stubborn people, who don't like to stray from their goals, or play around. Very serious and a "get things done" kinda personality. In battle, people with a yellow Natural Chi are usually slow, and perfer to remain stationary and attack with Chi based abilities, which is convinient because of their extrodinary Chi supplies. They have no definate preference for a fighting style, but they usually move slow but strike hard, like a rolling stone.
Red Chi: The fourth of the elemental Chi. Red Chi has a Fire elemental effect. Because of this, those who wield Red Chi can usually control fire, withstand extreme heats, and use their Chi to strengthen their bodies. People with a red Natural Chi are usually very passionate and/or emotional. They may also have short tempers and be wild, but try to keep their cool as the pillar of strength in a group. People with a red Natural Chi have very great physical strength, and combined with their short fuse and unpredictability, can be very deadly when provoked. In battle, people with a red Natural Chi are very strong and thus are very dangerous in close combat. They attack quickly and with deadly force in a fury of unpredictable strikes, like a raging wildfire.
Black Chi: The fifth of the elemental Chi. Black Chi has no definate element, as it shares properties of the previous four elements, but is commonly reffered to as "Dark Chi" or "Shadow Chi," suggesting an evil element. Black Chi is very dangerous, because it has a strange ability to deteriorate Memory Chi. Because of this, Black Chi is very dangerous, and people who wield it have slight control over wind, water, earth, and fire, and have great destructive power. People with a black Natural Chi can share any or all of the previously mentioned personality traits and combat styles, but are also prone to madness, due to the Black Chi's degenerative properties to Memory Chi effecting the mind. Because of this, Black Chi is usually associated with psychotic, destructive maniacs, though this isn't the case with all people who use Black Chi, even those who have it as a Natural Chi.
White Chi: The last of the elemental Chi. Like Black Chi, White Chi has no definate elemental trait, as it shares properties of the first four elements. White Chi is oftenly reffered to as "Light Chi" or "Divine Chi," suggesting a holy element. White Chi is much more refined than Black Chi is, so it's not dangerous to wield. Unlike Black Chi, which causes deterioration of Memory Chi, White Chi actually stimulates regeneration of Memory Chi, giving it healing properties. Because of this White Chi isn't as destructive as Black Chi, but is less risky to use, and people who wield it in addition to having slight control over wind, water, earth, and fire, can heal people. People with a white Natural Chi can share any or all of the previously mentioned personality traits and combat styles, but because of White Chi's more refined nature, people who have it as a Natural Chi are usually very strong, very smart, and have a strong sence of justice. Though this is not always the case.
Finally, there's Memory Chi. Memory Chi is essensially a blank slate that records information. This information can be genetic, chemical, or even memories themselves. This is the Chi that, when bonded with other Chi, create the world around us.
Other Chi colors
The above mentioned elemental Chi are the only Natural Chi colors; Green, Blue, Yellow, Red, Black, and White. You can get just about any Chi color though, by mixing those six colors. So Orange Chi would just be a mixture of Yellow and Red Chi (though you can't have an orange Natural Chi. You would need to have one of your Chi Chambers filled with Red Chi, and another with Yellow Chi, and release the Chi into an attack both at once to unleash an orange energy blast)
Additional terms and concepts;
Auras
A persons "Aura" is the glow given off by their Natural Chi. As explained above, a persons body is made up of their Natural Chi, and when they get the Chi flowing in their body and are essentially "powered up", oftenly the Natural Chi making up their body will glow, giving off an aura.
Souls
The Soul is a compilation of Memory Chi that flows through the body, collecting information on the body. This Memory Chi records everything about the body, such as DNA information, appearance, Chi, as well as memories, thoughts, feelings, and personality traits. Because of this, the Soul is essentially a spiritual form of yourself, made completely of Chi. The Soul is bound to the body by the Natural Chi, and when the body dies, the Soul escapes.
Aura Stones
Aura Stones are elemental Chi that is so powerfully concentrated that it takes on a physical shape without the use of any Memory Chi. When pressed against the body, Aura Stones will seperate into massive amounts of Chi particles, and will enter the body, overriding Chi in all of the Chi Chambers. By using an Aura Stone, a person can gain a temporary but tremendous boost in abilities, which correspond to the color of the Chi making up the Aura Stone. But alot of the Chi gets wasted and pours out of the body. Despite this though, Aura Stones give alot of power and can turn the tide of a battle. The proper name for an Aura Stone is a "Chi Crystal", since they're crystalized Chi, but the nick name "Aura Stone" is derrived from the "Aura" a user gets after using one. Though a persons Aura is the glow of their Natural Chi, and the "Aura" given off by Aura Stone users is just the excess Chi escaping from their body.
Chi Cores
Chi Cores are jewels similar to Aura Stones, but aren't made completely of elemetnal Chi. Chi Cores are like Chi Magnets, and when activated, draw in Chi of the corresponding color. Chi Cores come in a variety of colors, and correspond to Chi types. To activate a Chi Core, you have to focus a small amount of Chi that matches the color of the Chi Core onto it. Once done, the Chi Core lights up and activated, drawing in more Chi, making it easier and faster to focus Chi. For example, if you had a green Chi Core, and you focused a small amount of Green Chi into it, the Chi Core would activate and start acting as a magnet for Green Chi (the same principal applies to something like an orange Chi Core, where you have to focus both Red and Yellow Chi into it, and it will attract both.) Chi cores are oftenly placed on armor or weapons (think the gems you see on armor and weapons all the time.)
Now that you're familiar with these concepts, here's what I need from you all. Those who are or are interested in appearing in my comic, I need to know your Chi Chamber layout. I need your characters' Natural Chi and any other Chi that they can use, so I know how to depict their attacks. Use the Chi descriptions above to pick the Natural Chi that best suites your character. Feel free to PM me or make a post in this thread if you have any questions or want to give me the information I need.
NOTE: If any of you like this system, feel free to modify and/or use it for your own comics, I don't mind. In fact, I'd be flattered. Though it is kinda confusing. XD
