yh so i thought id make a thread to discus the various MG games an why some were good/bad etc... k so ill start off with MGS:The Twin Snakes is it jus me or does ne1 else think that the 1st person view killed MGS on GC? i mean now u can one hit kill guards from far out of their view range, and u can cut out their coms so that means u can complete the game so much quicker... and then they didnt even add in the ninja's sword, or any VR missions... i mean there was almost no new stuff that isnt in #MGS2 or the original.. at least stuff thts new and interesting

Actually, I never used the first person view. And I was a little disappointed at the lack of extras and secrets, but then I watched the Ninja slaughter those guards a few dozen times and I was happy. It was a nice update to the game, just no new content, aside from some better cutscenes.

yh.. i mean snake did suddenly become stupidly athletic... which was kinda ruined by his inability to jump... i think the game woulda bin better if there were smarter guards, more realism, a JUMP move, the sword, an extra area or two... and better ai.. i mean those guard squads hu hunt u did jack all... they needed 2 be smart enough to kill you... i beat ocelot on normal/hard difficulty without gettin hit.. an he only fired one shot and nobody question my punctuation cos i will slap u... this is my thread so nyah

Even with all its faults, I'll just play Twin Snakes rather than digging out the PS to play the original. I didn't like how some of the voices were different either, but I suppose that couldn't be helped. As far as MGS3, I have it, but I've only played it once. It never kept my attention. Is it worth my time or no?

nah... i mean the healing thing was kewl.. but i tried sneaking and its no fun cos the controls for neck breaking are different... it had so much going for it, but the fact that its easy to just run through each area killing everything with the M16 u get at the beggining, collecting supplies and then continuing wen u die with all ur supplies kinda kills it... i mean u dont need steal, jus kill everything and dont heal... wen u die u have a big stock of items, and uve moved on about 3 areas... whey fun... not... i cant believe it wasnt that good... i rented it and the onli thing keeping me playing was that i was waiting for it to say that ure big boss (obvious from the start where they call you jack, anyone who beat MGS1 knows snakes name is dave hayter (also the voice actors name) so tht was weak) and to see the story bits between u and ocelot

I decided to give it a go anyway, allow me to explain my MGS3 gaming experience.... *turns on PS2, begins new game* Ok, this is cool.... *3 days later, still watching intro* ZZZzzz...huh? What? Oh, they quit talking.... *runs for a minute, they start talking again* Ok.... *2 weeks later* WHY WON'T THEY SHUT UP?!?!?!This is worse than MGS2!!!!
Btw, the fight with The End was a pain in the ass, stupid old man wouldn't stay still.

I've played just about every MGS game there has been so far. (but not MG2, because americans were stuck with this "Snake's Revenge" crap.)
I own MGS, MGS:VR, and MGS2. Substance didn't really appeal to me but I have to try MGS3, then MGS3: Subsistance.
