Huh, I didn't think the could reach our west coast, thats a surprise to me. But even if they did fire one, we do have the power to shoot it down before it arrives. Its not like the Cuban Missile Crisis where the frigging nukes were 15 miles from Florida, I think we're pretty safe. Say one thing for Bush, he takes our safety almost too seriously. Some guy in the middle east holds up a flag that says 'go terrorists' he's gonna scramble fighters, put us on full alert and waste millions of dollars doing it. But yeah, I think we're safe from North Korea. And we are trying diplomacy first, I'm happy for that. I dunno how well it'll work when their leader is a certified psycho though, Nightmare is right, he's not interested in peace. Otherwise he wouldn't have been making nukes in the first place and testing them when the US and the rest of the world was telling them not to. He's also right about another thing, they're starting this, better them than us. Actually the only thing I'd disagree with in the above statement is backing any decision the President makes, blindly following isn't a good thing. I'm not gonna say anymore though cuz I don't like either party and this is about North Korea, not Bush.

Japan dosent have an army, after WW2 part of the treaties was for Germany and Japan to never have an army, and its out job to protect them. And as for them not being able to touch us, they can hit Seattle, which means me and nightmare ; They SAY they can hit Seattle but their last test showed their missile was a dud. I think NK is still a little ways off from having a viable long range delivery system that is reliable enough to be a real threat. Basic thing I'm trying to say is we don't need to bow to their scare tactics. Besides there's a few carrier groups in that area and if it looks like the missile will come near us it will be destroyed. One thing. Yeah it's very scary that that crazy ass is testing nukes but remember the US has the best missile defense system on the planet. Just hope the people running it are paying attention.

Even if they can't reach us (the west). What about everyone else that is in reach? Not to sound heartless but in my opinion, they can worry about their own hides. Ok they have confirmed that it was a test missle, and there is another test planed for later this week....and Kim whats his name started shouting kill america, take over the world. He literally shouted 'kill America and take over the world'? And with our missile defense system I'm not worried at all. But they say history repeats itself, if any of you know what the world was like before WW2 then you can see the similarity to now. If Kim Jong Il is launching another test missile with all the pressure the US and UN are putting on him, he must think he can get away with it, that no one will stop him. Same thing happened before WW2 with Hitler, Germany was supposed to disarm and not have an army of over 50,000 men or something like that. He refered to this army as 'workers' and made them do all sorts of military drills, he just made them carry shovels instead of rifles. When the time came for war, it was just a simple switch for these 'workers.' And Britain and France and the whole League of Nations just sat and watched, they didn't want to be the one to go in and stop it. And ultimately they paid for their laziness and cowardness in the long run. I'm not saying Kim is the next Hitler, I'm just saying that he's gonna keep doing stuff little by little cuz no one has the balls to stop him. The other nations will sit and watch. And in the end the burden will fall on the U.S. like always to deal with the problem.

Same problem with the old League of Nations, doesn't do the job it was created for, which was prevent wars. If all the nations in it did their job instead of relying on 1 or 2 to save the world then most of these wars wouldn't happen. If Kim Jong Il believed we'd attack then he wouldn't be building nukes, he's convinced the world is too spineless to stop him.

I Totally agree, Kim is just using the post Sept 11th state of terror panic to his advantage. He thinks simply that he can scare the world into doing what he wants.

Japan has no army, we are their army 2. European contries dont give a damn other than themselves. Britain sticks up for us because they are sort of like the democratic nation we are, always sticking our nose where it doesn't belong, but we do it because we want world peace. 3. Russia... are you serious? all they do drink vodka lol
