Should people be allowed to genetically modify plants to make varied products. It can give whatever benefits scientists can find, butits can be dangerous to plants and the people who eat it. seeds spread quickely, and GM plants and multiply rapidly, and they can get problems and have harmful effects on the environment
what is your veiw on it?

The thing about GM Plants is that the problems can be worked out over time. I'm all for it, as long as it's being put to a good use which more food for everyone is a good thing to me man.

no is what id say. its messing with mother nature. btw isnt corn now only a 1 time plantable resource. doesnt give off seeds, then you have to buy more.

well then it wouldnt be able to multiply
and from science classes, i know all angiosperm plats give of seeds, and that is most likely what corn is

Well, I don't mind messing with mother nature, she gave us nature to enjoy and put for good use, so as long as it's not harming anyone, and is producing some sort of benefiet for the people around it and the people who need it, there shouldn't be a problem. Of course if it causes sickness to the people who eat it and is not controlled well, the idea is just wrong. If you are testing with something, don't put others in harms way.

but u guys see, you say "if its good, im in, but if there are problems, im out"
when scientist modify it, they obviously wanna make it better, but they may make a problem they dont realize at the time, and by the time they realize, its already spread, and tons of that speciecs of plants are modified. Plant genes spread really fast, and when plants are just left out in feilds on farms, the pollen travels all around the world and gets to tons of plants everywhere, its hard to stop, dont theink its every been done

yea, so they can mass produce, but who is getting the benefit in the end? when your food has problems in it, and then wipes out that whole species of plants?

well, I think it's great. But it must be controled. Keep the natural and GM plants seperated. do not mix them. That way, in case one has problems, the other can be used. That way the species originally live, yet solve world hunger

it depends on how in my opinion.. adding Omege 3 oils is all cool in my opinion..
but when ********s like the guys making RoundUp and RoundUp Ready Crops should all be shot in my opinion.
they make crops that are resistant to their REALLY powerful weedkiller/pesticide Round Up, and sell them to poor countries with the Round Up. this means the 3rd world farmers then decide to grow the round up ready crops instead of the old ones. All good? oh but wait... round up crops PRODUCE NO SEEDS, so when they are harvested, the farmers cannot save seeds to grow them next year. this then means they have to go back to buy more round up and and round up ready crops, or they've lost their livelyhood completely... damn.. if only they could have read the non existant small print...
now that is wrong in my opinion... making illiterae and underpriveledged people dependant on your product and keeping them in debt... and it's a really good crop and product.. bar the whole screwing them over thing ya know...

Yea, thats totally insane and greedy, making the poor suffer more then they already do...
but you cant keep them separated. farmers grow them in open fields. The seeds just fly everywhere and spread so fast. And once it is stopped, it is probably still there. Some seeds that arent fertilized can survive about a hundred years, just sitting underground, waiting for conditions to get better. so when u think uve got rid of all the GM plants, u get them growing back years later
