Hmmm ... at least Cooper Lawrence apologized.
Oh look, Jack Thompson is still number 1.
Maybe not my place to say this, but anyway ... does anyone think Grand Theft Auto is too much?

Which is why I'll never vote for Hillary. Because she'd rather point the finger and cast blame than work to fix the problem. 'Yes I know we're in Iraq, and its all Bush's fault! No I don't have a plan for what I want to do about it, I just want everyone to know its because of Bush!' 'No I'm not going to tell parents to actually parent their kids, that's what we have TV for! Except we have to ban all things with violence and language.. What's that look for, you know the public doesn't want to be told to take responsibility!'
And then the small fact that even though Bill had his affair and they don't get along she still stays with him, soley for her own political gain. She constantly reminds everyone that she's a Clinton, "It took a Clinton to clean after the first Bush and I think it might take another one to clean up after the second Bush. Hillary Clinton." Arrogant bitch should not be the first woman president. And I hate the stance the Democratic party is taking on her and Obama. Now for the most part I like Obama, but the strategy the Democrats are running with is wrong, a lot of their flyers say "Help us make history and elect the first woman or african-american president!" Now there's nothing wrong with a little diversity but that diversity is what they're using to garner votes, that's the main thing they're campaigning. Not about the issues but 'we've got diversity, vote for a woman or a black guy!' That's how they're pitching this, and if you oppose them they play the 'racist' or 'sexist' card. Not that the Republicans are fielding much better candidates, and like I said, I like Obama for the most part, just not how they're using him. Because they are using his race and Hillary's gender.
Ending rant now, I know a lot of that was off topic and belongs in the contraversial thread but I had to get that off my chest, I went to the Minnesota Caucus two nights ago. But yeah, the Pope, Hillary, Jacko and all these other morons who've never played the games they're condeming can all go to hell.

I have to say Swim, a lot of what you're saying makes sense, I can't really argue with your logic. Well done.
There's a lot subtopics in that rant just screaming to be fleshed out a bit, 'cause that isn't the presidential race in a nutshell, but still...for the most part you're right. It'll be a sad day for voters when neither party is bringing anything good to the table.
But on topic...yeah! Those ignorant buffoons don't have clue as to what they're saying! XD

If people were more responsible we'd still have the Contreversial board to discuss this kinda stuff in, but oh well. Guess we'll just have to save such debating for something else. XD
As for the enemies of gaming thing, I knew that new Pope was evil the second I laid eyes on him... XD
But I agree that Rockstar games suck. They never made a game that was THAT good, or even good at all in fact. All they've done was, as it said, give the opposition ammunition.

Rockstar's games were ok... But I actually don't own any of the Grand Theft Auto series nor have I played much of them (or any of Rockstar's game for that matter...) But I do acknowledge what they have done for games. (Major contributor to the sandbox style of game design.)
However, as far as the others go, if they haven't played any video games I suggest to them an immediate shutting-the-f**k-up.
2 weeks ago I read in the local newspaper a story about a family who's mother had steadfastly refused to get any videogame systems for her family (she thought their brains would turn to mush... and she's supposed to be a doctor....) but when her kids won a rev, she played it and now gladly welcomes it.
I think that if some of these antagonists of video games would st down, shut up and play some games they wouldn't be so hasty to want to get rid of it. They only fear it because they don't know what it is. It's new and alien to them, they fear it's beyond their comprehension. The same stuff happened with movies when they were created and yet they got accepted, so too will videogames, infact I would argue that videogames are already more accepted, they form a multibillion dollar industry that makes hollywood look somewhat feeble in comparison. And rightly so, Why should I spend 20$ to go to the movies when I can spend 22-40 to get a game that will entertain me for countless more hours than that movie?

It's just ignorance manifested in the form of 60-year old douchebags...including my parents lol...and my girlfriend's parents...and my friend's parents...it's so sad. One time my dad passed by and saw me hacking limbs in God of War...you know what he did? He scoffed and said "I can't believe you're still playing that sort of stuff. That's for kids."

As regards to Nightmare's dad's scoffing at him on the game...
There was this game history exhibit somewhere in London, detailing all the games ever made in history since the first Pong game. They aired the news on BBC and the game hosts also did a survey and it was really surprising.
The average gamer age is 33 years old.
I dunno if that figure changes now, but it is stil surprising now.
If so, doesn't that mean that adults ought to bear most of the grunt for creating the videogames they themselves deem as violent? I'm not saying that us teens or young adults are not at fault - but based on the various gaming-related incidence like those school shoutouts...
I'd say both sides are not doing their parts wells in maintaining the peace as well as enjoyment of quality and maybe even proper video games.
... That's just me anyway.

HTF does that make any sense?!?! hilary is p!$$3d cuz chun li has stronger legs. rockstar has gone where nobody else would go. jack thompson is so p!$$3d his hair is falling out and turning white.
i think the whole acceptance thing for videogames is sad. theyve been around for 30 years, and theres gonna be a guiness book of world records.

Video games need more violence, blood, reality, sex, drugs, and any other kind thing people deem horrible. My reasoning is that if video games are violent now, then making them more violent can't have anymore problems. Playing halo or call of duty are great ways of reliving stress and if anything prevent school shootings ect.

I definitely stand by SpEX's viewpoint on this issue. I've had some really f**ked up days, and sure, I could've gone through all the trouble of finding a gun/weapon and gone crazy with it.... but that's just too much work for me. Why go crazy, and literally kill a bunch of people, then myself (which obviously wouldn't solve the problem I had in the first place, since I'd be dead after it's over.) when I can just hop on the Xbox, kill some noobs in Halo, and talk mad smack to release some of that stress?
IMO, Video Games = Great stress reliever. People wanna argue that video games gives kids the training to point a gun and shoot (Really? I didn't think you needed 'training' to pick up and shoot a gun, we've all done it with squirt/nerf guns as kids.).... sounds like a load of crap to me.
