just a few things the whole heaven/hell things is void in the JW argument. cas there is a different view there (no hell. 144000 go to heaven - read the Bible, thats how many it actually says, rest get a new earth) also, as far as i remember, it isnt just "JW = life, not = instant death" it's those who are presented the Truth (as we refer to it) and choose to ignore it, that lose out. also, as far as i see, if you don't believe in a god, why does it matter to you? you have a choice of Life in a perfect world after death, or nothing. and as far as i remember, you don't believe in God, so that's no change for you guys? is it? as for why to worship/respect rules. well if someone omnipotent, and selfsufficient (no need for anything else) with no need to create any other life, decides to creat you, and ask that in return, you do things that are good for you (check the Bible, the laws there are to do with respecting yourself, body, mind and others), and a few that are asking for respect to the One who created you... would that be unreasonalbe to ask. (to be fair, are any of the 10 commandments (for example) really unreasonable?) that's how i see it. to those who had a religion problem, is that that bad? and to those who don't believe in a creator. it's mathematically proven that life starting via evolution is impossible (i'll try get a quote later if i get time). i cant say for creation, but i figure if someone is omnipotent.. they CAN do ANYTHING.. anywways. nice to see how the discussion is coming along i need to point out though "NORMAL" CHRISTIANS (CATHOLICS ETC) AND JEHOVAH'S wITNESSES HAVE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT VIEWS ON DEATH AND A NUMBER OF THINGSso check/ask before ya make an assumption, or you might go off topic/be wrong by mistake

Alrighty then. As I said before, I don't know enough about JWs so I'm just gonna leave this thread alone. I have no problem with other people's religions, that includes JWs, so long as they don't kill me or try to convert me.

look the golden rule etc. is nice but all those statements/stories just contradict themselves. as for life starting id say we were the continued race from somewhere (maybe mars dun dun dun) or blackholes. im betting on black holes.

riiight, so i hear you say they contract each other but, as a regular bible reader, and someone who studies it and goes over it regularaly, i have yet to see contradictions. And I've read throught eh bible... maybe 5 times now?

Me being jewsih and all, I can say that I believe in god and also that there is a big difference between believing and doing everything some guy wrote. I believe in god but I think the way religion is telling people to worship him is wrong. There are many rules that make no sense in any religion (why am I not supposed to eat meat and milk?) so I say, everyone has the right to believe in what they feel is right and worship god like they believe they should. I personnaly believe god doesnt need me worshipping him, he knows I respect him and and me not eating this, or reading that will not help him or make his life any better, just like it won't make mine any better. And so I say SCREW THE RULES! I HAVE A FREE WILL!

If God created man with free will, why did "it" (God) have to make sure mankind worshipped "it"? Is that free will? Yeah, right.

So you guys agree with me, good. Now we just need to help millions of other innocent souls who do everything they're told without thinking about it. By the way I have nothing against people who worship god because it's they're decision, I just feel sorry for those whose parents give them no choice.

I had a real bad experience with Jehova Witnesses..........
My dad was a JW, and when his family meet my mom, they were nice at first, untill they found out that she wasn't going to convert, then they started treating us like crap......
But I shouldn't let that affect the wat I treat people, no matter the religion

I know so many people who go to a cathiolic school (my BFFs), and they all hate religion with all their burning f*cking hearts. yea, but maybe thats just cuz the people who hate religion (specifically goad and jesus and that crap) are the only ones I really wanna hang out with and be around. I cant stand all those people who talk about religion like everyone believes in it along with them, cuz a lot of people dont! Yea, but a lot of people hate how their parents are all goddish and worshipping, cuz its really annoying and they think just cuz we are their kids, we have to believe in all the sh*t that they do.

funny, I've been a JW since birth, but my parents dont force me to. They asked me if it was what i believed in, and I do. They arent ou there with whips and chains keeping me "in the faith." And I have lots of friend who are in teh same situatuon as me, and believe the same as I do. And considering all teh crap my family goes through from the my relatives that DONT believe in our religion... I'm inclined to be pissed off at people who are blissfully ignorant. Maybe find out about things before you relegate them to the garbage can.

Well, most my friends are kind of religious, eat only kosher and stuff. Those people were raised without an option to choose, of course their parents wouldnt beat them if they ate something that was not kosher, but they were raised without much of a choice. I on the other hand was raised by parents who eat anything good. So I have no problem eating pork with cheese which is totally unkosher. I can make a choice right now and change my way of life, but when I look at what it holds for me I see nothing, my life is better like this than it would be if I ate only kosher and went to the cynnagog every saturday.

I'd agree with all that, all I'm saying is the choice isn't ours and when we press our religion upon others it tends to cause problems. Ditto, People are free to believe what they want. It just causes problems when people try to force their views on one another.
