I really believe in what Marilyn Manson says and stuff, but its ill right in my opinion. Is it ok? is it bad for us all?

Kinda. But not in the sense that music makes you go out and commit murder. Only an idiot *cough Jack Thompson* would argue that. The music instead can affect your mood, how you're feeling and such. I believe it also influences opinion. More and more groups are writing songs about politics and the war in Iraq and stuff like that. Greenday and System of a Down are good examples of groups that'll do that. I hate to bring politics into a music thread but half the kids that listen to that stuff'll just hate Bush because they think everyone does, they're jumping on the bandwagon. Stupid people don't know anything for themselves anymore, they just hear what the media tells them. So yes and no. I love my music for how it sounds, doesn't mean I always agree with the lyrics but I still like the song. And no, it does not drive me to go out and commit murders.

Music is there for people to enjoy it. I don't think it has any influence, good or bad on most people.

half of the music out their is "filler". like all pop. just ta make money. so if manson is actually dedicated to his work as an author. isnt that better?

In my opinion I don't think really anything is a bad or good influence. Its realy the person who shall decide whether or not said thing influences them.
Bad Music doesn't seem like an appropiate title, I think Controversal Music would be better.

Music is not a bad influence, it's merely someones outlet. Music only influences people to do bad things when the person is so weak willed that anyone can influence them anyways. Music is an art form.

In two words: HELL YEAH! But it's only certain music that is any influnce at all. Just look at the kinda language the youth of today are using. I'd bet my soul that more then half of the swear words they learn came from either music, television and movies. I f you were to ask me, I would say problem of todays youth rests in the parenting skills of their gaurdians. The prents don't spend enough time with their kids, teaching them them the most valuable life skills. Like, for example, I go to a public junior high school. The other students their put on those innocent, happy, never sinned an extreme sin before in their lives faces in front of the teachers and other authority figures, but just wait 'till the lunch bell rings and the majority of them are herded into one big room where their free to talk 'till they drop. Then there all talking at once. The teachers have a hard time keeping track of every little conversation, but the language used and topics discussed at the table I sit at every da, *groan-esque sigh*, They sometimes discuss the music they listen to and movies they've seen, and some of those titles are the kinds of media content that influnce their behavior and their attitude, and I could go on and on and on. Let me adress the movie part. Movie theatars are letting youth see movies that are to mature for them if they're accompanied by an adult. That's because the adult to sit them down and explain what earned such a movie such a rating, and why those ratings are there and etcetera because they can't just assume the youth already know better. If I owned a theatar, I would make sure that youth don't get into movies they aren't old enogh for PERIOD. From my experieence, that talk just dosen't happen anymore. Now the music bit, Like I said, the parentig skills of gaurdians just aren't like they were. Parents just stop caring what kind of media you're taking in way to early. Then you discover a kind of music that just speaks to you, there's nothing wrong with the song that got you hooked so your parents don't step in nip it in the bud, next thing you know, your life is circling the crapper 'cause you were touched by one of the devils rythmic voices. T.V. is basically the same deal as music.

Music is a very strong influence. It influences attitudes, dress, and other things. Music as a whole is not a bad influence, but some of it is. Like my friend Shaunman said, most who are negatively influenced do not posses strong wills. Other than that, I say listen to whatever sounds good to you.

language?!?! please... its fudgeing words. its something you say. the only thing it could kill is fruit fly if you had bad breath. n nobody reply with 50 cent this n gangsta rap this. try to imagine what it was like for your parents when rock came out and bands sang bout pot etc. continual evolution is gonna happen. plus more its used less it means. (wonder what itll be like when were older ) as for parents telling their children bout stuff happening in movies.. youd need to have parents like butters for that to work. and i bet the % of americans to cdn's killed is a lot less n we have lower ratings. wtf? the main problem in my opinion is peer groups not the media. if some kid says" this is cool" people listen to it cuz its "cool" according to the "cool" kid. (sadly these people exist. they listen ta $#!+ cuz its cool) if individuals didnt rely on others so much it would be much better.

It's bad influence only if your stupid enought to actually let it influence... same goes for everything. <.<
It's just as worthless as if someone solt you to kill yourself on Youtube. You wouldn't even think about doing that if you weren't a total retard... or emo... witch really makes no difference.
Blame the stupid people, not the music/games/movies!

Does music influence you? Of Course it does. Music can make you feel better when sad, or make a good time better, or irritate the hell out of you and make you wanna hunt the bastard artist down and murder him (all rap music fits here). Can music Artists influence people? Deffinantly, this is where most negative influence comes in. People imitating dipsh*t artists (Again, most Rap Artists) do stupid things because this society tlls them its "cool" (cool to be 6 feet under eh? assholes) Throughout history you could learn alot about a culture from their music, say war drums way back when , or in renessance times melodies played on a grand piano. Almost everything we see or hear in teh media influencesus in some way, its life. people who think otehr wise are ignorant, or idiots or both.
