We have a long more way to go before we can see AI beating us in intelligence supremacy. Or that'll never happen.

Not if quantum computing gains a strong foothold.

Not if quantum computing gains a strong foothold. Hell yeah. Please remind me if one day we're manipulated by computers, prepare the virus stronghold. XD

quantum computers dont manipulate use, they are just really fast computers that can transfer data a lot faster.

True, but they are the only computers that will be feasibly capable to match the data transfer of the human brain. It's not the hardware I was talking about it's the potential for AI software on a machine of that caliber.

So let's just hope those movies and novels mentioning about us being taken over by computers won't happen. XD

it is inevitable. there is code for dna thus you splice them. what is the world was a single digit in another language? eventually layer apon layer is added and technology grows.
maybe robots/cyborgs are the new breed to walkthe earth.

Without technology, we won't be able to save time, cost and energy. Yet, technology nowadays is a degrader. lolatu.

Thing about it like this, a machine can produce X (say for instance 200) toys an hour, a human doing the exact same thing would only manage to produce an average of 50 viable of the same toy. Machines in factories are faster, tireless and can replicate the same process endlessly without error or boredom. Because so much more can be produced mechanically it frees humans to do something that machines cannot. (Say for example designing a better machine, maintaining the current one, inspecting sample products, etc...) Thus machines save time and cost because the can produce things far faster than a human could, machines also don't need to be paid to do their work, they don't have off days either. They save energy because humans themselves don't have to spend their time/energy producing that product.
As for the degredation, machines churn out the product at lighning speed, they don't take time to pay attention to the details and make hand adjustments to it. So everything is an exact copy of the other, very few differences, nothing that really makes it unique from all the others. And when you have 3000 copies how is something unique and original?
Besides who'se to say machine quality is as good as the handmade by a human version?

As for the degradation part, as far as I have learnt somewhere, that depends on the type of product being made. I don't think there's actually any products which are degraded by machinery - unless there's errors and that's where the repairman comes in.
Any examples?
