* Many new age spiritualists and philosophers ("new-agers") believe humankind will enter an age of enlightenment in 2012. There are a range of varying, generally positive, beliefs shared by a subset of spiritualists from the mundane to exceptional — including a positive social shift and age of peace, mankind becoming psychic and connected by a collective, and/or an evolution of the human race into non-corporeal beings made of "spiritual" energy, or light energy, i.e. 'ascension'. THAT... would be awesome... I would believe it so, but the human race evolving into physical beings made of light sounds ridiculous to me.

If the human body is made of ... light, then we can't really touch the keyboards now, can we?
Simple logic. Speculative imagination on this particular remour is not really encouraged, such as "We're made of light and we can do awesome stuff!", because down to earth, it sounds plain stupid, both physically and metaphorically.

If that even makes sense in the real world.
Super powers ...
BUt on a related note, they're starting back on the Haldron Accelerator this time to discover how particles like neutrons obtain their mass. Searching for the so-called God Particle - it's everywhere but elusive, mysterious and cannot be understood.

Whether or not it can be understood will be determined after the experiments.

.... Well, it looks like the whole "LHC destroying the world" thing was a load of sh*t. The particle beam had just completed its circuit around the accelerator. So far, no news of explosions or whatever. It was already a non-issue from the start. Just trying to find out how things were a fraction of seconds after the Big Bang. It's too early by the universe's timeline to create black holes.
