Should Marijuana be legalized?
Personally I don't see why not, so long as it was regulated under the same laws as alcohol. No driving under the influence, go to a "Coffee Shop" to smoke it, with a place such as a liquor store to buy it. And as long as you're just gonna sit on your couch then I really don't see what the issue would be.

Absolutely not. I oughtta smack you just for asking. >.>;
Three key reasons;
1. It's dangerous for your health. It's just as bad for your lungs as smoking tobacco is. In fact, it's got about 20 times more ammonia in it's smoke than tobacco (which is bad, for those of you who don't know.) It also, in addition to wrecking your lungs, damages your brain cells extensively (hence why you get high). It's essencially drinking a bottle of bleach then smacking yourself upside the head with it. A lot.
2. Though some studies say it's useful for medical use, a lot of other studies say it's not. Though some of it's effects can help combat come symptoms of certain real bad conditions, the damage the marijuanna does to your body doesn't make up for the supposed "good" it does, and has not been proven safe for medical use ANYWHERE, and hence why it's illegal in most countries.
3. Most importantly, it's a drug. It's a drug that eats away at your lungs, and at your mind, and as such, impairs your judgment and in some cases has made people a danger to society. You can't say it's the same as smoking or drinking. Smoking tobacco does damage your lungs, but that's all it does, and not at the extent marijuanna does. And it's not the same as drinking, because drinking does impair your judgment, but again, that's all it does, and it takes a lot more booze to screw you up than it does marijuanna. In other words, it's like a concentrated form of smoking and drinking at the same time, which makes it too damn dangerous, since people already don't know their limit as far as regular smoking and drinking go, and it's dangerous as hell. Even if they were just gonna "sit around on the couch." Too dangerous, and it's not okay.
And don't think I don't know what I'm talking about. I've seen what the stuff does to people. And it's spawned a lot of hate. I didn't just pull my strong anti-drug position out of my ass watching TV, ya know. =.=;
P.S: If any of you vote yes, I'll hate you. (May or may not be kidding there.)

Here's a very accurate documentary on pot. www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=1ACC6D19605DAF97Covers the history and all that shiznazz as well as follows this guy as he stays high for 30 days. Marijuana is high in TCP a hallucinogenic compound that tell your brain to interpret things differently (basically). It's a chemical reaction, like caffeine blocking out your fatigue sensors. So it's not your braincells dieing. That would be like huffing or holding your breath (also known as space monkey). Ok, it is the same as drinking and smoking. Actually it's less damaging to your lungs than smoking by far, you vaporize it so it has no carcinogens in it. Also cigarettes are also physically addicting by forming a dependency on it while marijuana dose not. Drinking is also physically addicting as well as damaging to your liver and killing off brain cells. As far as to dangerous, How? Reefer Madness wasn't real...Smoking pot (or eating it what ever) is victim less. You simply do not hear stories about a stonner robbing banks or stealing a car. The only stories you hear are about drug raids where people are growing it. The medical uses are bullshit. They made that up to get it passed in California to make it seem like a more normal excuse. So yeah, for medical use I think it's bull.

The hallucinogens are damaging to the brain. So yeah, it kinda is your brain cells dying.
And it's more damaging to your lungs than tobacco smoke. It doesn't just vaporize and go away. And the stuff has a lot more damaging chemicals in it than tobacco does. And it has been shown to be addicting, just as much so as tobacco. Alcohol, from what I've read, isn't addicting at all really though, but that's beside the point.
As far as "How [is it dangerous]?", I believe I covered that in my first post. Scroll up a bit. And it's anything but victimless. The stuff is damaging to the user, it does impair the judgment, so it can be damaging to those around the user, and it's damaging to families of the user, which stands true with all illegal drugs.

This kinda ties into my other argument about how government should be smaller and how i want an increase in personal privacy. But, If you want to smoke pot and fry your brain, why the hell not?

Because I said so, that's why.
It's idiotic ideology like that that's lead to a lot of stupid people...
If anything, I think the Government should be more strict on drug laws... If they diverted their resources there instead of focusing on ways to mess with free speech and our other rights, we'd have less of a drug problem in the US.
