For the good of Zero Virus, read every word of this announcement!
Alright people. I've made this announcement to bring attention to the update of the rules page. And there's a few rules we need to talk about.
First of all, reviving old threads:
This has become an issue, especially lately. When a thread has no recent posts for over two months (or in some recent cases, two years) it is a dead thread. Now, if you have something important to say, you may revive it, but please don't revive it with a stupid comment. Now, you won't be punished for violating this rule, unless you're warned and you continue to do it alot.
Next order of business, Page Breaking:
Breaking the page is when you post a message or image that is too big for the page to contain, and causes a horizontal scroll bar to appear at the bottom of the page. Now, some people have no idea how irritating this is to others, so please, use periods and spaces, and post large images as links.
Now, onto swearing:
I'm sure you're all aware that we have a forum censoring system active on Zero Virus, and alot of the time it works. But other times, it doesn't, and othertimes, people use strong language that is not recognized by the censor. Now, I'm going to explain this as clear as I can.
Zero Virus tries to maintain a family friendly atmosphere, and there are children who visit Zero Virus
That means that we don't want a child reading one of the posts on Zero Virus, and have a parent read over their shoulder and beat them. Swearing has become a big issue on Zero Virus lately, and I'm tired of warning people. I'm not going to show any mercy to those whio violate this rule from this point on. You can say anything you can get away with throu the private messages, but on the forum, you do not use strong language. You can say small things like ass and douche, but stronger words like sh*t and f**k need to either not be said or censored, and I don't mean censored by the forum, the forum shouldn't even have to do that. You should have enough class to censor it yourself, like I do. From now on, before you post something, be sure that you know that a 12 year old won't pick up any bad habits from your post.
Never thought I'd have to talk about this, but we're onto pornographic material now:
For the first time since I've become a staff member of Zero Virus, I had to enforce the no pornographic material rule. This is a very serious rule that can get you banned on the spot. Now, like mentioned before,
Zero Virus tries to maintain a family friendly atmosphere, and there are children who visit Zero Virus
If I see ANY form of pornographic material on Zero Virus EVER again, there will be banns, permenent ones.
And last but not least, flooding:
Flooding is making lots of unnecessary threads. Make sure to check and see if there isn't a living thread of the same subject before making a thread, otherwise you're wasting space and flooding the forum.
That is all for this post. You may post any questions or comments here, and I will do my best to respond accordingly.
And remember, you all have the power to make Zero Virus a good place.
