Aerosa Chronicles: Revival
Prologue A
A sword, thrust into a black pedistal, sat within a cave, the aura around it growing. Another figure, this one of a man, approached the blade.
"At last, I have found it! The legendary sword of darkness, Siroga." He reached through the aura and gripped the handle, pulling it out of the pedistal. As he did so, the Aura of the blade merged with his own, and another consciousness flooded the man's mind. The consciousness rummaged through his thoughts and learned the current language of our world.
"Nokotsu Mandrag, Would you like to obtain a power unlike any other?" The voice spoke with a tone that would make the bravest of men cower in fear. Nokotsu jumped, and looked around, his long silver hair being thrown from side to side as he searched for the source of the voice.
"Y-yes... Yes I would." he timidly stated.
"Then listen to my words... The words of Siroga."
Prologue B
In the land of Orenos, a long time ago, an army led by a warrior adorned in Black Armor, who wielded a blade of eternal shadows, rushed the royal castle of Orenos in a surprise attack, the man was known as Siroga the Devil. His attack was relentless as he spared no woman or child. The castle mages stopped his army easily, that was when he stepped forward, he cast his own spell that ripped a hole in reality and obliterated 2 of the 7 mages.
The mages that survived returned to the keep to plan another means of stopping him, the plan they came up with was simple, and they set off to cast the spell to end the attack, at least for now. They stopped time within the castle and summoned a blade with enough strength to stop the Siroga's magic.
The youngest of the mages fled to search for the wielder of such a blade. The warrior he found was but a boy. The mage, known as Myrr told the boy of the crisis and convinced him to agree, they then went off on a journey to acquire the three other elements for the blade, so that they could break the time barrier surrounding the castle, to enter and stop the evil man.
They traversed the country and obtained the power needed, then returned and shattered the time seal. They fought through the army and finally found Siroga in the throne room. A battle ensued between the boy and the devil, their powers clashed furiously as they fought, but a deciding blow was soon struck, as the boy stabbed Siroga in the chest, but the demon would not die, instead he sealed his own soul within his blade, ensuring his return in the future and cursing the blood of the boy...
Though no one remembers this battle, the story survived within the annals of history as a legend...
(Those two prologues were just early ones I planned on using for the game, the actual Prologue is the following 'Chapter Zero')
Chapter Zero
"Supremus! Wake up, the colonal will be here soon!" The Red-haired man yelled at his sleeping comrade, who stirred after being yelled at.
"I'm up, I'm up..." He muttered as he sat up in his bed, then drowsily looked over at the Red-haired man, "Why do you always gotta be so loud in the morning, Malec?"
"Supremus... It's 2 in the afternoon." Malec sighed as he pointed toward the clock.
"WHAT?!" Supremus jumped off his bed and stared at the clock, "Why'd you let me sleep so long?!" He shouted then ran off to the laundry room before Malec could answer.
A knock on the door was heard over the sound of Supremus panicing, Malec sighed, "Supremus, better hurry, cause he's here..." then proceeded to walk tointo the office area and opens the door.
"Greetings, Lieutennant. I take it from the shouting that our new recruit still hasn't gotten his sleeping schedule in order." An older man wearing a blue military uniform with lots of badges and medals attached stood on the other side of that door.
Malec salutes then replies, "Yeah, his life must have been very different before he enlisted, but he's a good kid. And he does get all of his duties done by the end of the day." He steps to the side and makes a hand gesture, inviting the Colonal in.
The Colonal nods then walks in, and steps up to the desk, then turns around, "Part of the reason I'm here is because I was worried about him, He IS my grandson, after all."
Just then, Supremus walked into the office wearing a similar uniform as the other two, except his didn't have any fancy medals on it. "Hi, Colonal Kazega."
"Greetings, Private Dokyo." They saluted each other then the Colonal began speaking again, "I'm sure that you two have become aware of the increase in bandit activity here in the Drumad Provance,"
"Aye, Sir." Malec and Supremus replied in unison.
"Would you happen to have done any investigating, into this? Or any leads on what might be attracting them?"
"Actually, It seems the majority of Wagon Hijackings were conducted by a group of 3 men and 2 women, witnesses reported the group calling themselves 'The Dark Nuts.'" Malec informed Colonal Kazega.
"I see... Well I suppose you two know what comes next, I am officially assigning you to this case, since you are the closest to the area where the majority of the hijackings occurred." The Colonal gave the orders then sighed, "Keep up the good work, boys, at this rate you'll start showing up the fellas at HQ." he laughed.
-----------------------------------------------------
Later that day
Supremus sat in a chair near the window, leaning back with his feet on the desk inside the office, "So, All we gotta do is catch these bandits... that right, Malec?"
"Indeed. And if we do an efficient enough job they may promote you. After all, I've seen your skill with your weapon, in fact, it's incredible you haven't received a promotion as of yet." Malec spoke as he was packing 2 suitcases.
"Heh, thanks, I guess..." he leaned back in his chair a little further.
"Careful, you might-" He was interruped by a loud crash as Supremus' chair tipped over and he crashed into the ground, "-fall... You need to pay better attention..."
"OW!" Supremus rubbed his head as he stood up, "I guess... haha... Anyway, where are we headed anyway?" Supremus scratched his head.
"Damyon City, the majority of the hijackings occured near the Itari Forest. And we need a base of operations so we're heading to the Damyon soldier HQ. I've already set everything up with the Commander over there so we'll get in with little hassle."
------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter One.
"Next stop, Damyon City." The conducter's voice rang through the train's many passenger cars.
"Hey Malec, What's Damyon like?" Supremus scratched his nose as he asked.
"You've never been there?"
"Nope, I never did much traveling after moving into Dokyo Castle, and before that I was always stuck in Kazega Manor."
"Ah, I see. Well, Damyon is a beautiful city, unlike most cities it isn't as technologically advanced, mainly because the people there want to preserve the old way of life. But they do utilize a magic artifact that no one else does, a Weather Stone." Malec explained as he stared out the window.
"Whoa, I didn't know any still existed." Supremus exclaimed as the train pulled into the station.
"Well, here's our stop." Malec said as he stood and grabbed the bags he packed.
-------------------------------------------------------------
After they disembarked the train, they proceeded almost directly to the HQ, stopping along the way to gaze at the flowers in Main Square. As the building came into view they could see that it was rather small for a military Headquarters. They stepped into the building and walked up to the main desk. "I am Lieutenant Malec Faray, of the Orenian Investigation Division. This is my Partner, Private Supremus Dokyo."
"May I see some Identification?" The receptionist asked as she typed in something on her computer. Supremus and Malec flashed their Badges and she showed them to the Special Quarters they would be using. She opened the door revealing cream colored walls and a red rug covering the flooring in its entirety. Two beds across from each other were covered with green comforters and white sheets, and a small couch with a table on each side sat against the walls.
"So, this is where we'll be staying, huh?" Supremus spoke, dropping his bag on the small couch.
"Yup, This is where I stayed while investigating the 'Domino Incident' 3 months ago." Malec stated, placing his bag on one of the two beds. "We can unpack in the morning, It was a long trip here."
"Alright" Supremus yawned and climbed into bed without another word, falling to sleep almost instantaneously as his head hit his pillow.
-------------------------------------------------------------
The next morning, the two of them got up at dawn and dressed in more casual clothing, Supremus wore a green shirt with blue baggy pants and cloth boots, along with a blue jacket over his shirt and his bokken strapped to the back of said jacket. Malec wore a yellow shirt and white slacks, his large iron sword strapped to his back via a leather sheathe with attached loops. They left the building and ventured around town, the morning dew still hung in the air.
"Gah, Malec... the air is freezing at this time..." Supremus complained in discomfort.
"Hey, you're wearing a jacket... Besides, it's not that cold. I'd say it's about Fifty-Five degrees, but that's just a guess." Malec spoke calmly, as though the weather didn't affect him at all.
"Whatever..." Supremus crossed his arms and rolled his eyes, which at Malec laughed at. They continued into town square to gather information, though they were unable to gather any until later on in the day, when they noticed a young woman holding an infant in her arms.
"Ma'am, may I ask you a few questions?" he asked, flashing his badge.
"Oh dear. What seems to be the problem officer?" she asked sweetly
"Me and my apprentice here are on an investigation of the recent wagon hijackings in this area." Malec explained smoothly. "We would like to know if you have any beneficial information for us."
"I see... well, There is one thing, whenever they hijack a wagon, they lead it into the forest... after knocking the riders off of it..." she said, her eyes growing worried.
"May I inquire about how you came to carry this knowledge?" Malec spoke curiously.
"I was on one of the hijacked wagons... they took my husband along with all our money as well..." Tears began to form in the woman's eyes, "It was only a week ago this happened... please... you have to find my husband... I beg of you." she sobbed into her hands as she begged.
"We'll do what we can ma'am," Malec smiled and put his hand on her shoulder.
The woman smiled and nodded, "Thank you, officer. now, if you'll excuse me..." She began walking away and looked over towards Supremus, her eyes seemed to change as she looked at him, and hostility filled her glare. Once she had passed him, they turned around to thank the woman for her cooperation, but she seemed to have vanished.
"Malec... Did you see that?" Supremus asked worriedly.
"Yes, I did. She didn't have any weapons on her, however, so It's of no consequence. But her information may not have
been reliable... I think we should split up until around 5 pm, we'll meet back at the local HQ, in the lobby." Malec commanded.
"Alright, I'll see you there, then. And be careful." Supremus agreed and advised.
"Same to you." Malec spoke as he turned and walked off.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Time passed, and Supremus still could not get any reliable information, it seemed that the townspeople had all lost hope and trust.
"What could have happened to cause this...? A few wagon hijackings couldn't have affected the people to this extent." Supremus spoke to himself quietly
"Dog of the government, eh? We don't need your help, get lost." A man with dark hair walked up to Supremus, it had seemed that he had been following him.
"I'm not leaving until I have completed my job, now if you will excuse me..." He tried to pass the man, but he just stepped in front of him.
"Listen kid, You'd be better off going home. Not even the king's elite men could handle these monsters... And there's no way for us all to evacuate. You'd be better off leaving." The man sighed.
"Heh... Sounds like you know where to find them then..." Supremus smirked.
"Yeah, Innu Forest, but like I said, there's no possible way for you to be able to do anything, even if you went..."
"I'm NOT backing down. I will stop these bastards." Supremus angrily spoke.
"I like you, kid... Tell you what, if you can defeat me in a duel I'll let you go, if not, you and your friend must leave the city immediately." The man bargained.
Supremus sighs, "Fine..." Then draws his sword and takes a battle stance. The large man also draws his weapon, which was a large zweihander blade, similar to the type of sword Malec uses. "Zweihander style... This will be over quickly..."
The man swung his large sword at Supremus, the attack would split the boy in two if it struck.
"WIND SOUL! AEROBLADE!" In a flash of blinding light, Supremus struck down his opponent. The man fell to his knees and was wrapped in a dark aura, then vanished into darkness. "As I thought... It was a phantom." Supremus sighed and took out his watch. "4:45?! Dammit, If I'm late Malec's gonna lecture me!" He then ran off in the direction of the HQ.
