Exalt of Chaos- Part One

This is my first attempt to be known as a good writer. Please enjoy. And viewers--be warned: some language and violence may not be suitable for children.

They sped across the darkened lobby into corridor A-12. Before them, two dozen super-robots awaited them. In an instant, machine gun fire and rockets launched at them, but as the smoke cleared--the devious pair weren't in sight.

"Sonic, you take the left--I'll take the right. NOW!" Sonic dashed around six of the robots, spinning them around in confusion. The super-robots unleashed rounds, but missed their target. As Sonic stopped, he grinned--and walked away as the robots no sooner figured out what they had done. The robots shirt circuited as the bullets they had fired at Sonic had missed and hit each other.

Shadow, on the other hand--like to do things his own way. He jumped on the back of a robot, and ripped it's arm off. He jumped down, grabbed the machine gun that was attached to the machine's arm, and clipped one-hundred rounds into the androids. They immediately fell.

"Okay, Shadow. Let's continue on--damnit! The door is locked...we'll have to find another way." Sonic began speculating the room as he searched for another exit. He spooted a vent in the upper right of the room, and the both climbed into it. As they reached the end of the tight vent, they jumped out into another room--but this one wasn't under security surveillance--meaning no trouble at all.

"We should stock up in ammunition and weapons here, and then depart." Shadow ordered, checking his current ammunition, and pocketing the rounds he had found.
Sonic agreed, and began gathering pistols and rockets. Shadow laughed, and strapped a rocket-launcher to his back, and holstering to machine-pistols to his sides.

"Let's head out..." and the two hedgehogs ran to the next corridor--and a nasty surprise awaited them...

It starts with a bang. I kind of like that. At the same time I'd like to know what the story is and why they are there.

In the next section of the story you'll figure it out. I like including action, but including some mystery to the story.

Thats what I figured you were doing.
Meh the bug is going around, I ought to do some writting. I completely failed my comic attempt but I'm actually a good writter.

Sonic and Shadow were on a mission. They were ordered by the President to eliminate the ship containing Shimmer. What was Shimmer? Nobody knew, but Eggman's final words were, "When Shimmer is revived, eternal dawn will follow...". Currently, they are in the ship said to have contained Shimmer, but he/she/it has still not been found...

Shadow hesitated to take a step further as he approached the door to the next corridor. Sonic noticed this, and trusting Shadow he stopped as well. Shadow, very nervously, closed his eyes and slowly began walking forward.

"What's wrong, Shadow?" Sonic asked, puzzled at the sudden change of personality. Shadow didn't reply, and he put his hand on the wall and clutched his heart. Sonic knew something was wrong, and he was eager to assist.

"Tell me, Shadow. What is it? Hmm?" Sonic put his shoulder against the wall, and he blinked twice before anything happened.

"...I sense...Maria...but..." he tightened his eyes, and he began to sweat. This only happened once when Maria had died--an awful time he would never forget no matter what the consequences. Shadow slowly got to his feet, and opened the hatch. Inside was complete darkness, except for some lights that signalled that computers were running. Sonic looked for a power generator he could use to add some light to the room. After a few minutes he found one, and flipped the switch. A hum could be heard and the lights began to lighten the room.
And Shadow's eyes widened with fear.

At the center of the room was a large pod-type device. It was a hibernation chamber, or what they had believed. Only high-tech laboratories had this type of technology. But that wasn't the problem, it's what was on the chamber that was horrific.

The name, "Maria Robotnik"...

Shadow closed his eyes and tried to hold back the tears. Images of places he had been with Maria ached his mind. His heart began to throb violently, and he fell to his knees. After a minute, he couldn't hold back no longer, he let his emeotions run like a fountain. Tears began breaking loose from his eyes, and a trememendous need for Maria began storming his thoughts.

He wiped his eyes, and got up slowly. He began walking towards the chamber, he wanted to see Maria one last time. Sonic knew what he was up to, and he dashed over to Shadow and grabbed his arm.

"Let's go, Shadow..." He whispered, but Shadow threw him off and pushed the 'Release' button. Cords snapped and steam began clouding his eyes. The hatch opened, but Shadow saw nothing. The smoke was too thick. He waited, and when the smoke finally evaporated, Shadow froze. His heart stopped, and mind came to a halt. His eyes never even moved. He stood there, frozen completely in fear of what he saw.

It was the last thing Shadow had ever wanted to see in his life. And it was right before him, and he couldn't move...
