Eh ... as the title says. It's the name of this light novel which got turned into an anime for winning top prize on this light novel competition and reportedly got good reviews as well. More info here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BaccanoThe plot is basically about alchemists wanting to get the secret to immortality and when the secret comes out (or something like that) things go messy. So, I was just wondering if anyone in the States has heard or watched this anime before.

I tried watching it a few months back. And I hate to say it, but I just couldn't get into it. And I'm really not picky when it comes to anime.
On another note, I've been watching Soul Eater. That's pretty awesome.
And even though everyone has seen it, it's worth mentioning that Claymore is badass as well.

"Just couldn't get into it" meaning your interest wasn't attracted by the anime?
Please be clear on this.

Meaning I saw the first two or three episodes, hoping the pace would pick up, but it didn't. It bored me.

I thought you should at least patiently watch the whole thing. Taht way you can get the best out of it.
Alchemists, demons and stuff ... were they good?

See but that's the thing. I know I like an anime when it hooks me right in the first few episodes. First impression is everything. Maybe I'll try watching it some more and I'll see if it gets better. And yeah, those animes are great! I'm about halfway through Soul Eater. I love the art style, the moon always has this big evil grin on, it's pretty funny.
