Some of you confused between Super Sentai and Power Rangers. They are not same, they both are different! Even though the costume are the same but they are different!!
Super Sentai may be used as Power Rangers primary source footage but many differences between the two shows still emerge. Super Sentai usually shows more violent images, matureer storylines. Characters have been known to die. Super Sentai also is not affraid to be funny at times, even more so than PR. Many situations in Sentai may not be as funny or make as much sense to Americans ( due to the fact the show is from a different culture than our own ) Super Sentai has also been on longer than Power Rangers. With the first thirteen series not even being adapted by Power Rangers ( Power Rangers didn't even exist till after ZuyoRanger, not counting the Bioman piolet).
Power Rangers generarly is more lighthearted and doesn't show overly violent or sexual situations. It maybe isn't quite as mature as Super Sentai is. Of course there is the obvious american footage that is different. As well as some american made characters. Their have been whole Power Rangers seasons that have differed from Super Sentai in season plot. These can mostly be found in the early episodes.
The irony is that Super Sentai actually aims for a lower target audeince than PR has. Japense culture is different than american culture. They don't mind their kids seeing the more mature stuff since they feel it may
learn the proper way to act in those situations. They don't think of TV has harming children as much as Americans do. They don't really have a problem where children replicate what they see on tv.
Example 1:
DinoThunder and Abaranger
1. Mesogog did not have a counterpart in Magiranger. The main villains were the Evorian. Who came from Dino Earth ( were not the product of experiments).
2. Abablack was a warrior from DinoEarth who joruneyed to Earth. His morpher malfunctioned for a time. He had to rely on three warriors on Earth that he recruited. His morpher was soon fixed and he rejoined the fight. In DinoThunder Tommy Oliver returned to mentor the DinoThunder Rangers and evenucally became the Black Ranger.
3. In Abaranger they mecha could talk and had personalities, in Dinothunder they were more like organic robots.
4. Abakiller was the White Ranger's counterpart in Abaranger. His identity was nothing like Trent's back story. Abakiller was a lunatic doctor who got the Abakiller powers. They drove him mad and he became a new enemy for the Abaranger. Trent accidently found the white dino gem, which changed his personality and made him evil. When Trent joined Mesogog's forces, this footage was taken from when Abakiller took control of the Evorian for a time. Abakiller became good long after Trent did. Abakiller didn't become good till the end of Abaranger. He ended up dying in battle.
