Greetings, people. I need some ideas for a story for a ZV RPG. The only idea I currently have is something similar to the ZV War from last year's carnival, with the IZV vs the ZV Military. So yeah, discuss and give ideas here. It's only for using a a base and reference for the VX sprite style. I'll see about including some of the default VX sprite sheets for reference as well.

What about a corruption in a government and your intended to track it down?
How about you go through the game aiming to learn about the outside world, and you meet up with some guy, and he trains you. Then he has an evil apprentice who needs to be taken out!

@vile Eh... I don't really think that'll work, but maybe. I'll put it on the list.
@cem Even if I do it that way Cem I still need a basic story outline to get started. As in, why are the IZV attacking? And stuff.
Also, what do you all think of using a "New User" type template for the game, whereas the main character is represents a new user, rather than using a known member as a main character?
That reminds me, as said, this is a ZV RPG. What this means is thatt it'll be heavily tied into site canon, kinda as if ZV were a world of its own.

as for the story, perhaps a civil war in ZV, and that makes the two military's.

I just gots an idea. This would most likely not be in the main story, or it might fit, but what about a senairo of the Xzero virus? Have NPC's not able to talk and you need to find a cure and what is causing this.

I am shocked at the lack of disscution here. :/
One thing you might want to ask yourself is who do you want to be on the antagonist side, and who should be protagonist. Furthermore who do you want the main villain to be? I know ZV has a list of the top 10 most evil people.
You should also make Frost (that was his name right?) like a 1 HP person who trys to fight you every now and then. it'd be funny

Okay, I've got the basic outline of the plot down. Just need characters now. If you wanna submit a playable character, wait, cause I'll post a template for submission tomorrow. Any playable characters added from this thread will likely be included as optional characters, though there is the chance if submitted early enough I'll write them into the main story. A friend of mine is using these same style sprites for a game he's been working on for along while. I've had to mess around with a few of his characters sprite wise so I kinda understand the style. Still odd to me. If you don't mind I'll most likely make one of me for you to use.

By the way, what kind of battle system were you planning on using? The default Earthbound-type or something different?

I'm using Yanfly Engine Melody as the game engine. It's basically a reworked VX engine with a bunch of battle engines built in. It uses a side-view battle engine that uses the default sprites and icons for animations, and has four battle types and four views. pockethouse.com/Also, I said two posts up I have the basic story stuff down. I haven't started writing yet, but I have a basic plot down thanks to Purple. I also have a few side-story ideas.

Quick update. I've updated a few of Yanfly's old scripts to work as the class management system for Melody unless Yanfly comes out with a new script updated for Melody's standards(Cause frankly, my fix was pretty rough, I'm still working out bugs, and had to forsake one of the other Melody scripts cause it clashed.), as well as for party management.
I'll post screenshots of the menus tomorrow.
