Hello members of Zero Virus! It is with both joy and regret that I announce the closing ceremonies for the Zero Virus 10th Anniversary Carnival, a celebration of ZV's 10th birthday and our final Carnival.
First off let me say I cannot even begin to describe how happy I am with this Carnival. We saw tons of participation in the event, the contests, the games, the tournaments, everything. We got more 4 Panel Comics than any other year, the event was exciting and went off without a hitch with everyone having fun, we had lots of fun matches in the tourneys, and record participation in the games. I'm very pleased.
Every year we do this and it's always a happy and sad moment when the Carnival closes. Those feelings are both a lot stronger now. It's really sad knowing that we won't be doing the Carnival again next year, I feel like when this time of year comes around again I'll feel a sort of emptiness without the Carnival here. But at the same time, the happiness is also intensified, for this has easily been the biggest and best Carnival we've ever had, and I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate the 10 years we've all spent together and all that we've done.
So on behalf of the ZV staff, and on my own behalf personally, I want to thank each and every one of you-- even the ones that couldn't be here and participate in everything. You're all what makes ZV great. We as a whole are ZV, and I'm sure I speak for a lot of us when I say Zero Virus has been a big part of all of our lives. So thank you, thank you for making this possible, and thank you for making ZV as great as it is.
We have a whopping 13 contests this year: Duels and Damnation Event, Spriting Contest, Art Contest, Writing Contest, Super Smash Bros. Brawl Tournament, Mario Kart 7 Tournament, BattleBob Tournament, BattleBob Doubles Tournament, ZV Trivia Game, Musical Avatar Game, Guess Who? Game, Scavenger Hunt Game, and the Dissidia Duodecim Cloister of Trials Game.
The following are the results for each. Give them a thorough read and see if you won anything!

Event: Duels and DamnationHere we are everyone! The results for this year's Carnival event! The moment you've been waiting two weeks for! This year's event was a little different from all previous years. First off the event featured another important element aside from the Battlefield, that being the Challenges! I'm glad everyone had a lot of fun with those, I honestly didn't know what to expect when I set up the Challenges so I'm really happy that everyone got a kick out of them! I'll be sure to release the puzzles we used this year (and more!) to the public at a later date, that way you guys can still enjoy some of the funner challenges! The event only took up the first week of the Carnival this time around, to stop people from getting too burnt out on it and give everyone more time to participate in tournaments and games. WOW! Would you get a load of that! This is even closer than last year! The event was scored this year based on a number of bonuses (listed above) that were determined from these statistics regarding the event. With the event points all tallied up, it looks like through a very narrow victory, the winners for this year's event are The Beerarium! This includes Tony, Peytral, Paragon, Ruinaru, Zafer, Albireo, Rick, Reaver, Vile, and Renegade! Good job you guys, you'll all be rewarded with a nice little badge to commemorate your victory:  Gents, you did great! Though you may have lost, you put up one hell of a fight and overcame a shortage of numbers within your team to maintain a strong presence throughout the event! Give yourselves a pat on the back! You'll all find one final adventure entry posted in your bases.

TournamentsHey everyone! I'm sure most of you have been following the tournaments all Carnival long, so I may not need to cover this in detail. Still though, I think it'll be nice to formally announce who won and show you the final brackets! There's always something exciting about that. First off let me just thank you all for your participation, and congratulate all of you (even the losers!) I'm really happy that so many people turned out to participate and make this an exciting round of tournaments! I'm very pleased, and you all deserve a pat on the back! Now then, let's list off the tourneys... Mario Kart 7This is one of the smaller tourneys, so I figure it's a good place to start! Let's take a look at the brackets!  Well I think that speaks for itself! But let's give the rundown just for the sake of it! GamesThe games are always an important staple of every Carnival! Whether we have one, two, or more, they add an exciting daily challenge to the Carnival! We've always had the ZV Trivia, ever since the very beginning. Scavenger Hunt has been around since it was introduced in 2007, even though it has taken on many forms since then! Musical Avatar was consistent until 2009, but makes it's roaring comeback for the final Carnival with an impressive makeover! The Cloister of Trials were done once before in 2011, and I figure it only right they come back for the last Carnival here! And of course who can forget our brand-spankin' new game, Guess Who? We had a lot of participation in the games this year, so I'm pleased to announce these results! Gather 'round everyone! ZV TriviaAhhh the ZV Trivia! A timeless game where players test their knowledge of all things ZV! With questions ranging from ZV History, to forum knowledge, to member knowledge, to comics, to roleplays, to all over! The ZV Trivia encompasses the spirit of the Carnival with a true celebration of all things Zero Virus! We had a lot of participation in this one, and admittedly the scores were very close right until the end! The questions were diverse and tough, but many of you stuck it out and tried to answer regardless! I tried to be generous with extra and partial credit too! Anyhow, it is with great honor I announce the winners for the ZV Trivia game... 3rd Place: Paragon!2nd Place: Aerin!1st Place: Swim!Congratulations, Swim! Xero managed these a couple of years ago, and though they were fun, they may have been a little soft, since nobody who attempted them really had any trouble making it through them. So I decided to give them a shot and make them extra hard to give even the Legendary Xero Bloodline a run for his money! And Holy hell did I create a monster (I can't even beat the last one!) There wasn't much in terms of participation, but honestly it's about the same as what it was when Xero did them in 2011, and I got my enjoyment out of them! As if there's really any question, let's get on with the show! The winners for this year's Dissidia 012 Cloister of Trials Game are... 3rd Place: Suprema!2nd Place: Tony!1st Place: Xero Bloodline!Congratulations, Xero! I don't know how the hell you did it (even after watching the replays) but you conquered the trials! And it only got worse as time went on and the images became increasingly more scrambled and harder to recognize! This game was a lot of fun, I regret us not doing it sooner. ContestsHere we are everyone! What many consider the main event of the main event every Carnival, we have the contests! Allow me to start off by introducing our panel of Judges! First we have our local detective and often absent but never forgotten British Xero, Smoke Frostheart! Second, we have our lovable and quirky friend, that's right you know who I'm talking about! Give it up for the evil and insane Professor Fann! And last but not least, who can forget this guy... Despite Smoke being the British one, this guy takes the cake for ZV's Simon Cowell, let's hear a round of applause for Reaver! Smoke, Fann, and Reaver are all veteran ZV Judges, Smoke handling four Carnivals between 2006 and 2007, Fann has been judging since 2009, and Reaver is a returning judge from last year! They've all taken time out of their busy schedules and have forfeited their right to participate in the contests themselves so that they can judge, so really, give them your thanks (even if you may not like some of their calls!) With the judges introduced, let's introduce the contests! We've got three contests this year, all have been consistent since the very first ZV Carnival, even if they've taken on different forms throughout the years! We have the Spriting, Writing, and Art contests! Admittedly there wasn't a lot of very serious participation in any of them, but it was still fun to see people throw things together and be a part of this last Carnival! The theme this year was "Zero Virus." Plain and simple, any and all things ZV. I feel like that's a nice and fitting theme for this last Carnival. Anyhow, without further delay, the contests! Cross your fingers, everyone! SpritingThe spriting contest is usually a smaller contest on ZV. ZV has a lot of talented spriters, It's a shame more of them didn't have the time to participate (I myself am guilty too...) But we had twice as many entries as last year! So yaaaaay! Though a few of them were just entering for the sake of participating, but what with it being the last Carnival and all, who can blame them? I am rather glad that the two tournaments I lost first round to ended up winning, so I don't look that bad I had fun this year. I kinda hope now that there isn't a once a year event going that the board picks up on activity. I really dislike chatrooms. |

Twas a great carnival, I'd even go so far as to say our best ever. We had a little of everything, and lots of participation. Brought back some old games, had some new ones, and virtually every contest came down to the wire. Thanks to the staff, the judges and everyone who participated.
