Whoah Nelly hopefully you didn't click this thread with super high hopes.
First of all no, this is not an implementation of Tony's silly `pokeball script into BattleBob. This is, however, a thread to discuss a revamp to the Pokeball weapon in BattleBob!
Anyone who's played the game religiously knows that the Pokeball weapon is a nifty 6 use weapon (one for each of your Pokemon!) that describes very generically the player using unidentified Pokemon with silly names doing undefined things to the enemy.
As you would imagine, this is boring as hell. So since a lot of weapons have been undergoing major overhauls in BattleBob, I figure the Pokeball deserves one too.
Obviously I didn't want to make a weapon with 600 possible strikes accounting for every Pokemon you could send out. That'd be way too much of a pain in the ass for me. Even the prospect of limiting it to the first generation was too much, because I don't really wanna do one with 150 strikes either. Ed suggested maybe using one of the Pokeball lists from one of the Smash Bros games but eh. This might be better.
The "this" in question is you guys suggesting to me what Pokemon to put in the Pokeball. Here are some guidelines:
Guidelines
--I will include about 30 Pokemon in the final product.
--I'm going to guarentee positions to Pikachu (because he's the mascot), Raichu (because he's my favorite), Mewtwo (because come on seriously), Celebi (because Aerin begged me to), and one form of each of the three Gen 1 starters (Bulbasaur/Ivysaur/Venasaur, Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard, and Squirtle/Wartortle/Blastoise.) That means 7 of those slots are taken, so we need about 25 others to include.
--That being said, suggest all of your top picks (and please try to include preferences on which forms of the Gen 1 starters to include) but try to keep the number tame to about 20-30 tops.
--When called, the Pokemon will use an iconic or at least usable move of that Pokemon, so you're free to suggest moves along with the Pokemon you're suggesting.
--BattleBob weapons are capable of damaging the opponent, healing the user, healing the opponent, disarming the opponent, leeching HP from the opponent to heal the user, and breaking enemy guards. Be mindful of this when picking attacks and feel free to take these effects into account when choosing Pokemon and/or abilities they might use when called.
--I'll pick up Pokemon that seem to obviously be popular if they're brought up a lot. Any remaining positions will be put to a poll at a later date.
Some of you may feel I'm the last guy you should be listing off your favorite Pokemon to but I assure you I don't care. I just wanna make this a neat weapon for BattleBob. I'm prepared to add any Pokemon EXCEPT the ice cream ones (so don't even suggest them.)
Now then, feel free to post your lists and suggestions here.
