For ZV's upcoming 12th Anniversary, we would like to hold a Super Smash Bros Tournament. However, we'd like a little input as to what kind of tourney you guys would like to see this year. We know some people do not have the game for both Wii U and 3DS, but we would like the opportunity to accommodate everyone who wishes to participate. Which is why we're asking you to vote for what kind of tourney you would like to see this year. Here are the available options; - Super Smash Bros for Wii U - An online tournament featuring only the Wii U version.
- Super Smash Bros for 3DS - An online tournament featuring only the 3DS version.
- Separate Tourneys for Wii U and 3DS - Hosting separate online tournaments for both Wii U and 3DS versions.
- Single Tourney featuring both Wii U and 3DS - Hosting one tournament where players choose which version to play, Wii U or 3DS, to help accommodate those who only have one version of the game.
We will be using this poll and the Smash Bros Tourney sign up thread featured here to gauge interest in this year's tournament. The mixture idea would be most idea for time constraints, but if enough people are interested in separate tournament we will gladly find the time to let us all battle it out in one of ZV's favorite games. Thanks for all your input, and hope to see you all this weekend for ZV's 12 Anniversary!

My vote would go for two separate brackets for 3DS and WiiU. If that results in more games being played I don't see that as a bad thing.
However I'm going to be out of town on a trip and I won't be able to partake if the entire thing is supposed to go down on Saturday. If we had the week to fight through the brackets I'd love to join, but I'm assuming this will be confined to the weekend.

I'm with Swim, two separate brackets. I only have a 3DS, so I'd have to vote for the separate brackets.

The point behind the "mixture" option would solve that, Nick. Let's say Nightmare and I fight in round 1, and the winner would have to fight you. Nightmare and I could battle on either the Wii U or 3DS since we both have both versions, and then the winner of the battle could easily battle you to accommodate you only having the 3DS version. It does complicate things a little, but at the same time it makes the tournament accessable to more people, since there are several of us who have both versions. But again, if enough people are interested in holding both tournaments we may be willing to give that a shot.
To Swim, the plan was to do this all Saturday as mentioned in the Facebook post (sorry I forgot to post it here) but if we can't generate enough interest for people to get together on one day that may be an option. Keep discussing it, so will the staff, and we'll have a final decision before this weekend.

I'm gonna say either a mixture or confine it to one version. Doing two tournaments would be a lot of work and there's a lot of other things going on this weekend to celebrate ZV's birthday. I think enough of us have both versions that it wouldn't be a problem to do the mixture.
