After continuous googling, i found out this. In Megaman X8, after destroying the mavericks and getting the keys to the bridge or whatever, you fight Sigma soon later. After fighting sigma on the moon, he is destroyed. For he can not regenerate on the moon, it is theoretically impossible. And there is no energy on the moon to allow it. And thus, Sigma comes to a drastic end. /THE END The reason i posted this is because i was asked about what happened to Sigma.

Sigma is supposed to live until X and Zero destroy him for good and they build Neo Arcadia to celebrate the end of the Maverick War.
If Sigma really is dead for good at the end of X8, then X9 will involve the creation of Neo Arcadia.
Not that your theory doesn't make sense Craft, since it's entirely plausible, but I don't think Capcom will ACTUALLY build the ties to the X and Zero series' at least not yet.

You may be right, Nightmare.
But i have my doubts about X9, are you sure there's going to leave one? Or is there going to be a plot hole between series?
And also, another fact that kinda support my theory is this:
"Sigma was dead and not coming back"
-Lumine, X8 after he is beating
Which probably means you are right. But what i've also learned, is in Mega Man Zero series, Sigma lives on as tiny particles in space.
But, we'll just HAVE to wait!
[edit]And find out!

I think they should actually just let Sigma come back, and then put him into a coma and send him into the sun with a rocket.

Sure, theoretically. You know, Sigma and Zero are so much alike, it's kinda wierd.

I was led to believe that Sigma was a virus that could not be killed - X had to use the Mother Elf to delete him. I'll be using that theory approximately 3 fanfics from now ^_^

So you are saying the mother elf was made to destroy sigma? I actually think he wasn't a virus. but a body that didn't only carry a virus but fused with it.

No, Sigma was your normal everyday hunter before he contracted the Zero Virus. As for what Swim said with the mother elf, i really don't know. They might have used it to wipe the rest of his data from space.
