I think everyone just needs to be more tolerant f newbies. Most of the time, they do eventually mature. I was just as bad as alot of the annoying new members when I first joined, and look at me now.
The problem is that some people don't know when to quit as far as the annoyingness. And some people just don't give the newbies a chance, so they're not in the least bit tolerant.
One cause of the problem is we've gotten a stream of new members, I mean, it's been awhile since we got this many newbies at a time. And because of this, the older members are putting up with alot of common newbie behavior, so it's wearing on their patience, and the new members are fighting amongst themselves cause they're all acting kinda immature all at once.
Now, I'm trying to quell all this tension without banning anyone, but I think Paranoidmage is right. I may have to start passing out temp bans and stuff if I can't get things under control with negotiations and warnings.
I assure you all though, I'm doing what I can to fix this, I just want everyone to be happy. =O

Well, it is true though. We wouldn't have any of these problems if everyone was acting mature.
But thank you for being willing to be good. <.<;

so basically it's the n00bs, but there is nothing they can do except try, but once they arent n00bs anymore they will be fine, so I guess it's just time, and trying

The word immature kills me cause anyone who uses it IS immature themselves in some way or another. If you use that word you are automatically a hypocrit. Such as you being a collage student and posting on this forum. To my ears it's one of the only "bad words".

You logic doesn't make any sense, Model. >.>
But Paragnoidmage, it's not just the newbies. The older members aren't trying hard enough to be tolerant and show the newbies the ropes. The newbies are just doing what newbies do, and the older members are gatting to a point where they don't try to put up with them. That's what I was trying to say.

Immature is not a hypocrit word. It just labels someone who is not mature.

I notice the animosity around here, but I'm essentially oblivious to what goes on

and I wasnt saying immature as an insult, more as constructive critisism, and that we have to change.
and yea Nightmare, the older members are responsible also. I dont think this will be as much of a problem after all of this

I think Nightmare has a point about to many n00bs at once. Maybe if the next time alot of n00bs blow into town at once, the registration forms be locked for a temporary amount of time. If our pod caves don't overflow and cause the baby members to eat and mutilate eachother, and the older members don't have to get super mean to their own kind, the problem might quicklyy shrink. And I notice alot of those n00bs just register and vanish. Don't even bother to make an introduction thread. Weired isn't it?

We do if the ones who already came in get stuck in the door frame and argue to the point where it gets contagious.

It's the usual deal. People don't listen, and us older members start to get tired of it and we've been here so long we're used to a certain way of thinking.
