Time to formally announce the schedule for this weekend's festivities!
We had to reorganize things a bit due to Xero's unforeseen absence this weekend (which caused us to do the ROM Hack stream this last weekend instead.) We've axed Thursday from the official days of festivities (but that doesn't mean you still can't celebrate together Thursday!) and we've moved some things around, as well as added a couple new streams! Vile is gonna stream some Pirate DOOM for us, and Ed has a mystery stream that he intends to subject us to as well.
Due to Xero's absence the ZV Wrestlemans PPV has been moved to Sunday, and will be more of a "maybe" than a definite event. It'll depend on how early Xero gets back in town Sunday evening. If time permits though, the show will go on!
Anyhow, this is the schedule:
Friday, June 19th 6:00 PM EST - Ed's Mystery Stream 9:00 PM EST - ZV Movie Night
Saturday, June 20th 4:30 PM EST - Animal Crossing Fashion Contest 7:00 PM EST - Vile's Pirate DOOM Stream
Sunday, June 21st 3:00 PM EST - Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Amiibo Tournament ?:?? PM EST - ZV Wrestlemans PPV?

I've updated the first post to add the new important threads: You'll notice that we have dates and times for a couple of the events. They are subject to change (but most likely will stay consistent) and a full schedule will be determined and posted soon! In the meantime, please vote on the polls and sign up for the events you're interested in participating in.

It's that time everyone! Post in this thread to sign up for the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate amiibo tournament we're holding in honor of Zero Virus' 17th Anniversary! Time: Sunday June 21st, 3:00 PM ESTRules- You must be able to be in the chat (on either IRC, the forum, or Discord) during the Tournament's 3:00 PM EST start time and prepare yourself to be available for the 2-3 hours during which the event will likely take place
- Your amiibo must be a legitimate figurine (no hacked chips or counterfeit amiibo cards)
- You must have trained your amiibo yourself. You're allowed to have assistance from others training it, or train it against computers, all that, but I mean don't borrow a friend's figure that's already fully leveled or something like that
- Your amiibo must not have any stat buffs or effects from Spirits. Do not feed your amiibo Spirits at all when training them, if they have any effects from Spirits, they will be disqualified. If you've already fed them a Spirit, you must either enter a different amiibo into the tournament, or reset and retrain your amiibo, sorry
- This is more of a suggestion than a rule, but your amiibo should be level 50 (the maximum level.) We won't disqualify an underleveled amiibo so feel free to enter one if you really want to. I'd normally advise you to level them or else they'll get stomped but last year's tourney had two undertrained meebs kick a lot of ass so do what feels right
- You must save a replay of your amiibo's battle afterwords, regardless of whether they win or lose
- Matches will take place on a random Battlefield-type stage
- Match Rules are 3 Stock with a 6:00 minute time limit
- All Items must be turned OFF.
- Battles are 1 on 1 between the two amiibo with one match being fought between them
- The Tournament will be double-elimination style with a losers brackets, so every amiibo gets at least two fights. If your amiibo loses two battles, they're knocked out of the tournament
RegistrationPlease post (once and only once) in the thread below to sign up for the amiibo tournament. We'll keep a running list of all entrants below to give you an idea of how full the brackets are. If you're interested in signing up, please don't hesitate to post--if you're unsure about playing, you can always write me later to withdraw from the tournament or give your spot to someone who wants it more. In order to avoid any Byes, we'll be doing our best to fill an 8 to 16 man bracket. Please note that if you're say, signup #17 and nobody else registers after you or withdraws, you may not get a spot in the brackets, but we'll do our best to accommodate everyone.- Nightmare

Hey there everyone! After putting it to a vote, it looks like our Animal Crossing New Horizons event will be a fashion contest! After discussing it in the chat, we've established some rules for the game, so I'll give you a brief rundown so you know what to expect: Time: Saturday June 20th, 4:30 PM ESTFashion Contest- The event will be based on Labelle's challenges. That is to say, players will be given a theme that they have to build an outfit around, as well as a random article of clothing that they have to incorporate into the outfit.
- Once signups close and we begin the 17th Anniversary celebrations on Thursday the 18th, participating players will be given a couple of days to visit the host island (Ed's island, Grumble) where they will be directed to four patches of buried items. Each patch will correspond to one of the four themes, and players will have to remove an item at random from each patch. That item will be the article of clothing you have to use in your outfit for that theme.
- You will get to keep the items you dig up for the contest. Consider it a participation award!
- Players will then have until the date and time of the fashion contest (TBD) to build an outfit around each of those themes.
- Custom patterns will be allowed to give added personal flair to your outfits, but only if you made it yourself! You have to be prepared to provide a QR Code for your pattern if asked, so make sure you know how to do that.
- During the fashion contest players will do a runway walk in their outfits to show off what they came up with using the provided articles of clothing for each theme.
- The event will be streamed for the people of ZV and judges will score each player on each of their outfits. The one with the highest cumulative score will be awarded first place. Second and third place will follow, with each receiving rewards in the form of either Bells or Nook Miles tickets (their choice.)
- Don't play Animal Crossing? Want to make watching the stream an interactive experience? Become a judge! The more the merrier!
And here's the important details of this thread: - To Sign Up for the Fashion Contest, just make a post in this thread down below!
- Please specify whether you are signing up as a contestant or a judge.
- Please specify whether you are signing up as a CONTESTANT or a JUDGE.
- Whether you plan to participate as a contestant, judge, or just a member of the audience, please vote on the poll above! The top four themes will be the themes for the four outfits you'll be building. You have six votes you can cast (so pick your favorites and a couple of backups!)
- If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch with me over the forum, IRC, or Discord.
With that said, go ahead and vote on the themes and sign up! Poll for the themes will close next week, signups will remain open up until Thursday the 18th.

Alright fellas it's time to decide what we're watching for movie night! Our last poll had a lot of fierce competition. I intended to go with the top three but we had three movies tie for second place. So we're gonna go with a top 4 scenario! We're thinking this is gonna go down Thursday (the 18th) evening so bear that in mind. You only get one vote so make it count. Winner when this poll closes next week will be crowned our movie! If you'd like to prepare in advance, we'll be doing our watch party over Kast so click this link and make an account (downloading the program is optional) in preparation for movie night. Well, what's it gonna be, fellas?

Is there a reason we can't do both? Time constraints, as a short answer. We've already kind of got a lot on our plate, running a second Smash Tourney would probably mean adding another day to the festivities. And we already felt like we're pushing our luck by doing events on Thursday and Friday. It can be hard for some people to be available during the week, especially for something as time consuming as a Smash Tourney.

Whoah nelly. Is it that time of year already? You bet it is! It's June and ZV's 17th birthday is right around the corner! Seventeen years, my dudes. Our community has endured the test of time, that's for sure. Never been happier to be here with you folks, with all of the craziness and uncertainty of these times, it makes me thankful we have each other. So what do you say we all share in the sentiment and celebrate together? If you were in the chat last night after the Wrestlemans tournament, you saw the preliminary announcement of these festivities. We're making it official now and putting up the polls, so let's put it all out there! FestivitiesWe of the staff discussed it amongst ourselves and took things to the chat on IRC and Discord last night, and we've come up with four days of celebrations consisting of the following events spanning from Thursday, June 18th until ZV's birthday on Sunday, June 21st. - ROM Hack Stream: This will be our main streaming event this year. I've been hard at work learning how and modding a certain game to create a unique and entertaining experience... And Xero's gonna go in blind streaming it! We'll be streaming together giving commentary while you guys get to see what shenanigans I've subjected him to. As for what game it is, well... You'll all just have to wait and see. Hoping it'll be a lot of fun!
- ZV Movie Night: Back by popular demand! Last year we had a blast getting together on Discord and watching The Princess Bride together. And it was such a hit, everyone wants to do it again. So we'll be posting a poll to determine what movie we'll watch this time around and have an encore of ZV Movie Night!
- ZV Wrestlemans Pay Per View: Anyone who's been paying attention to the chat and Xero's YouTube channel knows that we've for the last month had our very own Pro Wrestling program! For those not in the know, Xero has (with the help of Aerin, Vic, and Tony) amassed a large number of Zero Virus themed custom Wrestlers in WWE 2k19 on the PS4, and using the game's Universe Mode, Xero has put together a show that updates regularly and gives us the zany pro wrestling experience with all of our favorite ZV characters. While the episodes are pre-recorded, we also get Pay Per View (PPV) live streams on occasion that are even bigger and more fun. And don't worry, even if they're structured like real life PPV shows, they're totally free to watch. That being said, ZV Universe is due for a PPV event during ZV's birthday weekend, so Xero will be hosting a Wrestlemans blowout for us all to enjoy!
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tournament: Once more, what's a ZV birthday without a Smash tourney? We need opinions on how to do this one though! Last year we did an Amiibo Tournament where we all trained amiibo and watched them go at it, rather than playing the game ourselves. It was a lot of fun, actually, so we're putting that on the table again. But maybe you guys would rather actually play the game this time? Let's take it to a poll! We're doing a Smash Tourney this year, but we'll leave it up to you whether you want to beat the snot out of each other or coach some meebs to defend your honor!
- Animal Crossing Event: Since Animal Crossing is all the craze these days, we thought it'd be nice to do something with that! The name for this event is a little vague though... That's because we don't know what we're doing specifically just yet! We've got some ideas and they're going on a poll. Let's have our Animal Crossing players decide how to celebrate in this new game.
That's our intended lineup, fellas. Not too shabby eh? Below, I'm going to list links to the polls we'll be using to determine the exact nature of our festivities, and at a later date I'll update it with the exact schedule for our events (which is still in the works--Sorry!) We're still organizing things but we hope to give ZV an awesome birthday party and celebrate the community that brought us all together and continues to hold us together. Please stay tuned to the chatroom via IRC or Discord, as well as our Facebook group to stay up to date on details and discussion. Schedule: Friday, June 19th6:00 PM EST - Ed's Mystery Stream 9:00 PM EST - ZV Movie Night Saturday, June 20th4:30 PM EST - Animal Crossing Fashion Contest 7:00 PM EST - Vile's Pirate DOOM Stream Sunday, June 21st3:00 PM EST - Super Smash Bros. This is gonna be a tough one to decide! So we decided that we want to do something with Animal Crossing for the 17th Anniversary, seeing as Animal Crossing: New Horizons is all the craze right now. But we need to settle on what sort of event to host. So the staff discussed it and we've come up with some fun ideas. - Bug Net Kendo Tournament: This is as it sounds. A Kendo tournament with bug nets. Based on this goofy video Tony found we would set up an arena and players would enter with their bug nets. When signaled, they'd try to hit each other. First to land a hit gets a point. Best two out of three advances to the next round! We'd stream this and make it a spectacle for the people not participating as well.
- Mayday Maze Reenactment: For those of you who participated in the Mayday event in New Horizons, you should know what I'm talking about. For those of you who don't, the game had a event where you had to cleverly use tools to navigate a maze. For our purposes, people would compete to clear a custom made maze to get the best time.
- Fashion Contest: In the spirit of collecting crap and showing it off, this idea would have players crafting a series of outfits based on some themes and restrictions and then going for a little runway walk on stream, where our non player viewers could score you. This one would allow people who don't play to participate to a degree as well!
- Something Else: Got another clever idea? Pick this option and please share your suggestion down below! Or maybe someone already posted a good idea and you want to pick that; please choose this option on the poll and make a post saying which cool idea you want to go with in the suggestions!
Competition would all be in good fun and we'd come up with some in game prizes for the event. This poll needs input more than any other, so please share your thoughts.

Alright fellas, we're doing a Smash Tourney this year like always. But last year we spiced things up by instead of doing a traditional Smash Ultimate tournament, we did an amiibo tournament. That is, everyone trained an amiibo for the tourney and entered them and we all watched the battles on stream. It was a lot of fun, made things kind of random, and reduced saltiness when people lost by taking things out of their control a bit. But maybe it'd be more fun to actually play the game? I dunno. You decide!
Do you want a tournament where we all play the game and battle each other?
Or do you want to train amiibo figures and pit them against each other to see who comes out on top?

Hey everyone! As I said in the announcement thread, we're doing a ZV Movie Night again for the 17th Anniversary festivities!
Let's see if we can't narrow down our extensive list of choices. This is the initial poll, pick 5 choices from this list, and whichever entrants score highest in the next week will go onto a final poll we'll use to pick our winner.
Please use all of your votes, we need to get an idea of what everyone would be okay with doing for this little get together.
