What is Heaven? A place where everything is good and happy?
Is there humor in Heaven? All humor comes at someone's expense, so is there humor in heaven?
What about cheeseburgers? In my idea of Heaven, there'd be plenty, but I doubt the cows in Heaven like it very much if you're eating them.
So tell me, what is heaven, for those of you who believe in it?

Good point, I've always wondered that. There are allot of descriptions of hell, but never of heaven. So I'm kinda curious as to what other people's interpretations are.

Hmm, it's hard to say what heaven is... Other than God lives there... so it can't be that bad of a place. Though if I were religious I'd figure heaven would be more like our current society... We'd all have some job (that we enjoy) to do to keep everything running smoothly (as well as give us soulmoney for stuff) and then we'd go home to our houses and relax for the rest of the day then head to bed to repeat things over again. We'd have the internet (called soulnet and exactly mirrors earth's internet) and videogames, parks to go to, amusement parks, etc... Basically everything we have here would be there save for the morally wrong things as decided by God. And then if we wanted a vacation or something we would be reborn on earth again for another life. (And the life we get is determined by how much soul money we'd want to spend on it. ) As far as food goes, would we even need to eat? I figure that in heaven we just relax and all the energy we've expended would replenish. As that'd be a perk of going back to earth... to eat, as well as all the less than morally pure things that we do here. And once were done if we over step our limits of what we were allowed to do we either have to serve time in hell or pay for it by working it off.

Valhalla = Eat, Fight, Eat, Sex, Sleep, and repeat until Ragnarök.
Thats what I want.

Valhalla = Eat, Fight, Eat, Sex, Sleep, and repeat until Ragnarök. Thats what I want. So ... this fabled final battle takes places on Earth or where else? I doubt if you can see it when you're alive, or even dead, assuming you hold on to the belief that the afterlife never exists. So, most likely you'd never get to see this so-called ideal at all. This whole thing sounds like a fantasy to me.

All religion is fantasy. It's just there to make people feel better about dieing. So there.
The fabled battle takes place on earth. It will end the earth and all but a handful of gods will survive. They will recreate the world where farms farm themselves and that kind of thing. Nobody need do anything but live how they want. That sums up Ragnarök.
But before it happens, hordes of people who die in battle are selected to fight and train under Odin in his golden hall of Valhalla. Other gods have other halls where people can go and do much of the same. The early Christians however destroyed most of the pagan texts and much information was lost.
Like I said before, I do not believe in an afterlife. But if there was one, I'd look forward to dieing if it were like that! =D

By the fact that you believe that these gods exist, isn't taht contradictory to your own stand regarding the afterlife? Gods are gods, they are spirits, there's no such thing as a god who is alive in the flesh on earth, is there not? Odin and all the other Nordic gods are spiritual figures, and where else could they stay, even if they do exist, if none other than the spirit world? If you believe in Odin, you should have to believe in the spirit world which is also equivalent to the afterlife on earth. What is Heaven? A place where everything is good and happy? What about cheeseburgers? In my idea of Heaven, there'd be plenty, but I doubt the cows in Heaven like it very much if you're eating them. So tell me, what is heaven, for those of you who believe in it? As for you, here's how I see it. In a way, you can say that Heaven is happy and good. Essentially, it is a place overflowing with love and because of that, we can pursue what we want to do. You can eat as many cheeseburgers as you want, but as far as I think it, there are no cows in the afterlife. Basically, they are soulless. However, if you heart doesn't embrace and practice love, even the cheeseburgers will not appear to you.

My two cents about the after life,
I like to hope heaven and hell is real. I don't know about this Ragnarok thing. I hate thinking Heaven isn't real, though. It depresses me too much to think it isn't. If reincarnation is real, so be it, I suppose, I just don't want reincarnated as a animal..

Afterlife is best known as being life after the state of having passed away. The existence of anotehr Earth is something physical, which is still there, so ... no, it's not a kind of afterlife. Afterlife is meant for entities with souls only. Why do some of you here fear so much of reincarnation?

Did you just say cows don't have souls?
Furthermore, did you just say I'd get cheeseburgers even if there were no cows in Heaven? I don't want some 3rd grade meat in my burgers, and if you're suggesting the meat comes from nowhere, that's kinda rediculous.

The animal kingdom and the whole of the creation, I believe, are very well alive, but it doesn't mean they have souls and it also doesn't mean that they are worthless and they don't deserve our love and care.
And yeah, I just said that. I just said what I said, I meant what I meant, and I meant what I said and I said what I meant. Strictly to what I was quoted of.

So Ala is the Arab word for god. And in their heaven each man gets 70 virgins! My question...where the hell do the get the virgins, are they cloned? And it also did no clarify that they were female virgins.
