a rep. stands for repition, which is the the full motion of an exersise. An example would be if you were to do a bicep curl you would stand holding the weight by your side, then curl the weight up twards your shoulder, followed by lowering the weight back to the starting positon. Congratulations! you have just completed your first "Rep". Now a set is like it sounds like it is, a set. A set is the number of reps you do. So for instance you would do 1 set of 15 reps for bicep curls. Or 2 sets of 15 reps.

yea thx, but 15 reps doesnt sound like much, unless ur doing it really heavy and a hard exercise. When i exercise i do lets say bicepcurls, until i roll over and die, repeat, then i guess im done for the day

Heavy weight is right, i use enough weight so i can only do 4 reps at a time, then i rest a bit, then pick the weight back up and do 4 more. If i cant do 4 then that set dont count and i rest longer till i can get 4.
